AIM Custom Notification Sound Tutorial

Originally, I needed assistance to get this working. But I randomly experimented and happen to learn during the process.
This tutorial is for Xperia users using AIM Mobile for Windows Mobile who want custom sounds for sound notifications etc.
TUTORIAL:
1. Using Total Commander, locate 'default.WAV' in 'My Device/Windows'
2. Copy it elsewhere, i.e. you storage device. This is just to make a back-up (Just to be on the safe side)
3. Have a custom sound you would want to replace that for AIM notification in '.WAV' format and if possible, a size below 700kbps (perhaps?)
4. Rename your custom sound to 'default.WAV'
5. In Total Commander, locate your custom sound, copy or move it to 'My Device/Windows'
6. When asked to overwrite file, confirm to do so.

Some tips/guide and links

Hello mates, here are three useful thread links of mine and some tips/guide I've posted in a rom thread which I think should be for others too.
#To get more ram after flashing S5 mod.
Through Titanium Backup freeze this apps -
Air wakeup
Baby cry detector
Dual city widget
Finger print
Health service
Home screen festival widget
Total 14 apps of Kids mod(if one really don't need/use it, freezing all these 14 apps saves ram a lot).
Parental control
Personal page service
Quick connect and quick connect interaction service (these two are battery drainer)
S Baro
SHealth
Yellow pages
...After freezing these 27 apps from S5 mod and other common culprits (find other link of bloatware remover)
I am getting minimum ram 652 and maximum 834 with S5 mod rom.

B324 - Media playback, low volume FIX

Hi all!
As you know the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 output volume is not the highest among smartphones. This will be a problem is you choose a headphone, that requires more power for adecuate volume levels. Had the same problem on my Ascend Mate 1, the solution was in etc\audio\codec folder.
Was able to locate the two files for my region (Hungary), by removing these two files or moving it back to the codec folders (restart is required after that) rises or lowers the output volume significantly:
ascend_JAZZ_ULCA_ce.xml
ascend_JAZZ_ULCA_normal.xml
After looking up Android Hilfe P7 forum I found the best solution. Big thanks to the user "XQC" he found the rows I was looking for.
So with Root access I edited the two files and made the following modifications:
Line 231 <reg name="HI6401_S4_OL_GAIN_INT">0dB</reg>
Line 232 <reg name="HI6401_S4_OR_GAIN_INT">0dB</reg>
Line 279 <reg name="HEADSETL PGA VOLUME">0dB</reg>
Line 281 <reg name="HEADSETR PGA VOLUME">0dB</reg>
The original values are negative values. After you save the changes to the files need to restart to hear the difference. This will only increase the media playback volume in theory, I had problems with high incoming ringtone volume with removing the files, but now it is good.
UPDATE:
B560 - Media playback, low volume FIX, without root (unlocked bootloader)
By the time I am writing this update it is not impossible, but it is problematic to gain root access on ROM version B560. To do the same "low volume FIX" I found a solution that works the same:
You need:
- unlocked bootloader
- TWRP 3.0.2-0 for Mate7 / Android 6.0
- 7-Zip on a PC
The process:
Flash the before mentioned custom recovery. In TWRP do a backup on the system partition without compression and md5 check. Copy the backup file of your system partition (.img file) to your PC. Rename the files extension to "tar" and open it with 7-Zip. When opened navigate to the codec folder. When you find the 2 files responsible (see original post) right click and edit them (see original post), when you finish save the files and update the archive. Rename the files extension back to "img" and copy it back to your phone. Restore the system partition in TWRP. Done, you should have the same effect, no volume limitation on the audio jack (needed for high impedance ear phones).
IMPORTANT! Before you edit your system partition file in 7-Zip, make a copy of it just in case!
this mode work great with orginal box headphones from huawei mt7. I try and its louder and good for me. Thanks
Here you have modded file
https://mega.nz/#!xkRHSLqY!uU5NxmgQVZ8khDZNmv_qmH75JndBkK0pKZuacLsaN-U
Just been looking at this with my Mate 7. How do you know which file to alter? As in, region?
I've set my location from US to AU in buildprop.
Pretty sure mine will just be an international setting for Australia so I did it to the default file instead. Does seem louder. I had raised AGC and bumped gain up with ViPER4Android but now set back to 0 in that. Still loud
It can actually make me feel a little uncomfortable after a couple of songs. Have to check in car sound level but on headphone it's not distorted, just loud.
Dude i love you
Update
Workaround for ROM version B560, without root but with unlocked bootloader.
Thanks a lot for the tip, it works very well on B571. Very happy
Glad to hear! I updated to B571 after I made the modification on B560 without root (needed to flash back stock recovery).

Unlock Hidden Features in MIUI 8 Camera [Kenzo][MM]

Prerequisites
1. Rooted Device
2. TWRP Recovery
3. APK Editor
4. Any File Explorer with root access
5. Camera2 API
Procedure
1. Open file explorer and go to "/system/app/miuisystem" and copy the "miuisystem.apk" to phone memory
(Also make a backup of this file elsewhere)
2. Copy the downloaded "kenzo.xml" to phone memory
3. Install and open APK Editor then touch "Select an APK file" option
4. Select the "miuisystem.apk" from phone memory (From step 1) and choose "Simple Edit"
5. Navigate to "assets/device_features/" and locate "kenzo.xml", then touch the edit button on its right
6. Now select the "kenzo.xml" (From step 2) and touch the "Save" button on the right, then save the apk using "Save" button on the bottom
You will see a message, saying that the new apk was saved to "/storage/emulated/0/ApkEditor/tmp/gen.apk"7. Open file explorer and go to "/storage/emulated/0/ApkEditor/tmp/" and rename "gen.apk" to "miuisystem.apk"
8. Move this "miuisystem.apk" to phone memory (For easy access from TWRP)(Optional)
9. Now reboot your device to TWRP recovery
10. Mount "system" partition
11. Open TWRP file explorer and navigate to "/system/app/miuisystem" and delete "miuisystem.apk"
12. Copy edited "miuisystem.apk" to "/system/app/miuisystem" and set CHMOD 755
13. Reboot your device and you'll see new options unlocked in camera
If it's taking too long to reboot it means that something went wrong (Good thing we have backed up the original miuisystem.apk). Boot into TWRP and restore the miuisystem.apk and repeat the steps carefully.
Note
This method works for other devices running MIUI8 but you'll have to extract "youdevicename.xml" from "miuisystem.apk" and edit it yourself.
As always, I'm not responsible for damaged devices, do it at your own risk.
Have fun!
Bugs
1. Somehow the system timer (inside system clock) breaks. It doesn't sound the notification when timer runs out.
2. Exposure time setting in camera has no effect.
If anyone here can help me fix this, PM me.
Nice one bro

Hi, I can see this in your xml file:
<!--whether the device supports phone call noise suppression-->
<bool name="support_phone_call_noise_suppression">false</bool>
was it by default on false or did you change it?
This may help solving issue there is on Redmi phones, the noise cancellation get activated when recording video and this is causing awful result in the video file.
There are several bug report on miui forum about this, actually what we need is to disable "noise cancellation" for everything else but phone calls.
(you can see video that explain the issue on redmi 4, but redmi 2 and 3/3s... have this issue too...)
Do you have an idea?

It was "false" by default. Try making it true and check if the issue gets fixed.

I searched. 4K support disconnects the notification outbursts somehow. BUG.

[Guide] Enable App Twin Feature on EMUI 5.0

Saw few users not having App Twin feature on various variant of EMUI 5.0. I found this trick on Honor 5C Facebook group shared by one of the user claiming this worked for him on rooted phone. I could not test this because I already have this feature on my phones so unable to verify but someone not having this feature on EMUI 5.0 can verify and report.
This needs a rooted phone with root enabled file explorer. (Root browser or ES file manager)
Go to this path:- system/emui/lite/prop/
backup this file - local.prop (copy and paste in internal storage or somewhere)
Now edit the original file under system/emui/lite/prop/ and make below changes.
fw.max_users=1 to 2
fw.show_multiuserui=0 to 1
ro.config.hw_support_clone_app=false to true.
Save the file and Reboot the phone.
Now check in settings option just below battery for app twin.
If it works, please share the feedback so that other users can get benefit of this and if doesn't work, we will explore more option to have this.
If you face any issue, just restore the original file from backup.
One of the user in 6X thread confirmed this is working. https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74219357&postcount=2
Good luck.
