Absolutely.
Seems someone can't live up to the fakt that other OEMs are mucking around their customers with respect to storage specifications, while HTC doesn't.

HTC never lie.
The lier is sumsung. Because they send cheap quality exynus with ufs 2 in Middle East.
I have dual SIM HTC U11 phone and as you see there is no difference with European modul.

There is an app in playstore ufs check for samsung, but it works for htc also

It's not healthy to compare with measuring with sequential read. Our HTC U11 phones have UFS 2.1, because the producer company of 3D NAND based on UFS 2.1 is SKhynix and Model: H28U88301AMR, you can check it below that:

For me is sumsung hfs 2.1
What's difference?
Sumsung send Galaxy phone with ufs 2 in middle East.

The chip in your phone is UFS 2.1.
This thread is fud. Should be deleted.

There should be several types, and from what I saw:
SKhynix H28U88301 AMR 128G
Samsung KLUCG4J1ED-B0C1 64G
Samsung KLUDG8V1EE-B0C1 128G
All of them are UFS2.1.
Not sure if HTC also uses the 64G one from SKhynix.
There was a claim saying the SKhynix 128G is slower than the Samsung 64G. I checked post but they didn't mention how they tested it. Also the difference is not significant (less than 10%).
Also attach a screenshot from Samsung Product Selection Guide pg.14.
And some screenshots of my DTWL 128G.

No, no, no... You want the HDC I9300 Pro... It has the MTK6577 processor that goes to 2.0Ghz and has 1 Gb or ram... Its also dual sim (if you want it to be) with a normal sized sim &/or a micro sized sim. Or 2 normal sized sim if you want. White or Frost Blue. And only $210US... What a bargain....
Might be nice for a novelty, if you have a spare couple hundred floating around but I have other things to spend my money on...

I guarantee you it's more like .8MP. I've seen China phones that were 12MP but in reality were 1.2 at best.
And if you've ever used a decent smart phone, let alone an S3 you would definately notice the difference. The knock-offs are horrible to use.

8GB! I hope this is only for the prototype. If Google launch with an 8GB option with no expandable storage it will be way too small. They can shove the cloud up their ass.
I know there will be a 16GB model too, but they really need a 32GB option as well. Cloud storage is still in its infancy, and not everyone has access to LTE yet.

Are you getting UFS 2.0 or 2.1 version of S8? Mine seems to be 2.0 :(

Hi All
So far I am happy with my shiny new S8 with no red tint yet
however, recent benchmark test is driving me a bit crazy, I think I am getting the slower UFS2.0 version of S8 instead 2.1, since in my recent benchmark test, it shows my speed is a lot slower compare to others' benchmark shown online.
see below is mine, only 500MB+

this is what I found of others' s8
I clearly remembered S8 is UFS2.1 as their spec and many reviewers have said the same.
I checked Samsung website spec page, it does not say anything now, however, I did an internet archive page check, it's clear that Samsung official site indicated UFS2.1 before 25 Apr, and remove it after that, are they mixing memory type as some others indicated?, more importantly, is it normal or should I ask for exchange ?
This is my results. I guess it's 2.1?
Have you checked any other app that may show version number or something?

So is it literally a toss up on which one you'll get? But sucks for me...
Exynos variant, Sweden, UFS2.1
i also get 550 read approximately with a snapdragon variant (verizon). Just from the samples here it looks like Exynos gets 2.1 and snapdragon gets 2.0. :_(
So exynos gets easy root uhs 2.1, and snapdragon gets uhs 2.0, but compatible dolphin emulator within like 5-10minute download
All S8 Exynos get UFS2.1 it seems.
All s8+ Snapdragon get UFS2.1
Some S8 Snapdragon get UFS2.0
I think this is the take home message.
