Are you getting UFS 2.0 or 2.1 version of S8? Mine seems to be 2.0 :( - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

Hi All
So far I am happy with my shiny new S8 with no red tint yet
however, recent benchmark test is driving me a bit crazy, I think I am getting the slower UFS2.0 version of S8 instead 2.1, since in my recent benchmark test, it shows my speed is a lot slower compare to others' benchmark shown online.
see below is mine, only 500MB+

this is what I found of others' s8
I clearly remembered S8 is UFS2.1 as their spec and many reviewers have said the same.
I checked Samsung website spec page, it does not say anything now, however, I did an internet archive page check, it's clear that Samsung official site indicated UFS2.1 before 25 Apr, and remove it after that, are they mixing memory type as some others indicated?, more importantly, is it normal or should I ask for exchange ?

This is my results. I guess it's 2.1?
Have you checked any other app that may show version number or something?

540read/135write g950w snapdragon :\
The read/write iops are around 50% faster with ufs2.1, i wonder if exynos got the faster interface, need some more samples folks.

US (Verizon) S8 and had around 550 read.

534 read 138 write on AT&T 950U ordered directly from Samsung website.

follow these steps to identify your chip
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/how-to/ufs-2-0-2-1-identify-flash-chip-s8-t3601656

exynos s8

So is it literally a toss up on which one you'll get? But sucks for me...

Exynos variant, Sweden, UFS2.1

i also get 550 read approximately with a snapdragon variant (verizon). Just from the samples here it looks like Exynos gets 2.1 and snapdragon gets 2.0. :_(

So exynos gets easy root uhs 2.1, and snapdragon gets uhs 2.0, but compatible dolphin emulator within like 5-10minute download

All S8 Exynos get UFS2.1 it seems.
All s8+ Snapdragon get UFS2.1
Some S8 Snapdragon get UFS2.0
I think this is the take home message.

Hrm... that's actually a little on the low side compared to some of the numbers it was putting up on review units. Most of those I saw were hovering around 70,000.
Definitely curious to see what other folks pull.

I'm not brave enough to install that unsigned apk. I did score almost 58k in the standard antututu. Too be honest both these numbers are a lot lower then what I was thinking. Most of the results were on par with the exynos 5420 other then the mali gpu which scored nearly 20k (double the 5420 mali). Even the storage io numbers weren't radically different Despite their claims of high performance internal storage.
Anyways benchmarks usually only tell a small part of the story and there could be other things at play here that I have yet to discover. I'm hoping we see kernel source for this device soon.
I think this kind of benchmark is more useful and interesting as it correlates with something in real-life, like actual use of the device:

Here's mine for those that care.
Do you have any battery temperature readings when running the Antutu?
Hehe, I see there was a typo in your original measurement
Good stuff. Looks like the retail units are definitely up to snuff. Keep em coming guys.

Redmi Note 2 benchmarks, and general performance thread

Hi, can anyone do few benchmarks and also point out MIUI version?
1. Please install Geekbench + Androbench, reboot the phone, turn off everything from background (apps and such) and do Androbench first, then Geekbench.
2. Please install PC Mark for Android, turn off everything from behind and post the results.
3. Feel free to add any benchmarks you like, thanks!
Also report about performance in app, smoothness, load times on big apps, and general performance.

I can't tell you exactly because I have installed a few apps and I do not feel like resetting it atm! But I would guess just over 10gb free space.
what I am wondering is if there is any actual difference in performance between this and the prime version and also if this one can be overclocked to match the primes performance if there is any difference.. I would be interested in seeing youtube videos on this phone .. but there is nothing out there yet..

What mainstream phones is the Redmi Note 2 Prime comparable to?
I'd like to upgrade from my dead Galaxy Note 2 and am looking for something inexpensive but that's still an upgrade in specs.
I found a nice long review here with more benchmarks and info on the device: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uR_la5ngaco
I didn't know about dragon glass, so apparently it is comparable to the old Gorilla Glass 2, which is what I had on my G2, and which is the reason I have the RN2 now so I will make sure I don't drop it again: http://agcem.com/index.php/dragontrail/15-cover-glass
There are also two reviews on Youtube with people doing scratch tests.

Hi,

In what Countries did fire(s) occur?

It seems to me that if all of the defective batteries were in Asia (as it appears from News), then we are dealing with both a different processor than the one employed in North America. Believe US has Snapdragon and rest of World Exynos. There is a difference, I have read, between the ability of the two processors to "regulate" voltage and prevent battery from overheating.
Secondly, we have A/C 120 current in the States - believe that Europe and Asia have D/C 220.
So, unless the defective batteries were found both in States and Euro/Asia, then perhaps it is the processor and/or the type of current that is exacerbating the problem(s).

It's not healthy to compare with measuring with sequential read. Our HTC U11 phones have UFS 2.1, because the producer company of 3D NAND based on UFS 2.1 is SKhynix and Model: H28U88301AMR, you can check it below that:

The chip in your phone is UFS 2.1.
This thread is fud. Should be deleted.
There should be several types, and from what I saw:
SKhynix H28U88301 AMR 128G
Samsung KLUCG4J1ED-B0C1 64G
Samsung KLUDG8V1EE-B0C1 128G
All of them are UFS2.1.
Not sure if HTC also uses the 64G one from SKhynix.
There was a claim saying the SKhynix 128G is slower than the Samsung 64G. I checked post but they didn't mention how they tested it. Also the difference is not significant (less than 10%).
Also attach a screenshot from Samsung Product Selection Guide pg.14.
And some screenshots of my DTWL 128G.

Really low antutu score.

My room is at 18°C and my score was 141k. It probably also depends how much you were using it before the benchmark, how hot it was, whether it had just been charged which increases the phone's core temperature, etc.
LG - H870
Im not sure why, but i get 164k under normal conditions.
Just before started to charge the battery, normal test, without any clearing data or preparation of using cold water or whatever
