A6000 plus is not recognizing stock ROM. - Lenovo A6000/Plus Questions & Answers

I flash Stock KitKat ROM via twrp and it reads:
Updater process ended with ERROR: 7
This package is for "Kraft-A6000" devices; this is a "a6000".
The last successful flash was the official Mokee ROM.
Please help.

I was able to flash ED300's Cyanogenmod 12.1, but I cannot flash Stock ROM.
I tried flashing Mokee ROM and it showed error: 255.

Flashed stock ROM after updating cyanogenmod, booting into recovery through advanced reboot & flashing stock rom.
No errors this time. Case closed.
Thank you all.

I almost forgot my experience with stock KK on my A6000. Can you please post a screenshot of the RAM and Battery usage? I was planning on going back to stock ROM.
Thank you!

Very sorry, I am on ED300's CyanogenMod 11 right now. Its very good.
I used stock ROM with MoStock kernel. RAM was 1.3~1.4 gb free.
Battery Life was excellent, especially after flashing MoStock.
Sorry can't post the screenshots.
But flash it and check for yourself.
Its out of my way to say this, but always have stock (kitkat) ROM and 2 twrp images (kitkat & lollipop) on your PC. It really helps. That way you can easily revert to start if any errors result.
Good Luck. :good:

Thanks for the response. However, does ED's custom ROM CyanogenMod 11 don't have bugs? If it does, can you tell me?
Btw, thanks for the great advice!

No bugs as of yet.
I find it much better than stock ROM.
RAM management is really great - 1.5 gb free after booting.
A thing to note is that I replaced stock keyboard with Multiling keyboard; deleted the Ringtones, Notification, & alarm tones (except for the ones which I use) and also deleted a lot of inbuilt bloatware (see here:https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2721531).
Replacing the keyboard is easy just rename the MultiLing keyboard (it uses 12~16 mb) to LatinIME.apk and paste and replace it inside system>apps.
Edit: You can view the xlsx extension online - search "zolo xlsx."
Also, if you don't use the second inbuilt theme, delete TWMaterial.apk
Back up the original CM11, just in case.
Good luck.

Go to system>>media>>audio.
Here you can delete the Tones you don't use.
However, (make sure you have backed up the ROM) you need to make minor changes in build.prop.
1. Download notepad++ & go to line - 277, 278 & 279.
2. Copy the name of the tones you want - right click>>rename>>right click>>copy.
3. Paste it in build.prop under respective sections.
4. You can delete all other tones now.
5. Also, make these changes (steps 2 & 3) in the update's build.prop.
You can also add your own tones (.ogg format) by deleting all tones and add yours to the respective section & doing steps 2 & 3.
On another note, after I switched to Multiling keyboard, whenever I click back after going into input & settings (it opens up Multiling keyboard settings), it says settings have stopped and restarts settings.
Not a major problem, but I thought I'd point that out.
Happy to help bro.

NO LONGER SUPPORTED
ODIN 1 CLICK TO STOCK JF6 BEFORE FLASHING 2.0[/B
Added updated flashable zip to bottom of post which includes some theme updates, apk updates and themes, and some window animations. This post will be hopefully be updated tomorrow with a newer version, and this clockwork flashable .zip should hold off those who waiting on the rom update.

-haptic feedback works on ALL buttons
-OC/UV support-voltage control app installed to /data/app

-Big APN file for instant inernet/mms access
-ad-blocking
-AOSP themed lockscreen
-HSUPA enabled -comes with UGJK3 modem(no need to do anything crazy to get 850 working-this modem works as is)

-comes with SWYPE, dark Droid X multitouch keyboard, and samsung keyboard
-Launcher Pro and TWlauncher included in /system/app
it seems like Samsung took some advice from gtg with the twlauncher(never seen the stock launcher this fast or smooth)
-removed some junk apps

voltage control 2.0
cyanogen MMS (switch background color-white/black)
updated maps and youtube
flash player will auto-install
Starting with v3.0, d1g1talphyre will be helping with all future versions of the rom. Im going to be extremely busy is in the upcoming weeks so this will help me get 3.0 out faster to you guys.

probably some more small things that i forget right now.
When you apply your lagfix, choose option one when prompted "backup AND restore"
Install Instructions:
as always, its best to flash to stock JF6 with the odin one click downloader.
copy this rom to your internal sd card, and after flashing stock. flash this through Clockwork Recovery. thats it. no need to do anything with the jg8 modem or anything like that.
on first flash, all=ext4 is enabled by default-if you want to use something else, select go back to recovery then go to the lagfix options and enable whatever you want. when your prompted with the options about backing up, i suggest choosing option 1. this will do a backup and restore so you will not lose any apps(the other options you will lose the apps in /data)

Credit to xcaliberinhand-he made the original kernel for us to be able to use i9000 roms and hsupa modems
Been looking forward to this.
Thanks, I'll try it tonight.

i hadn't planned on it, but it looks like i'll be flashing today
sweet! downloading and flashing @ work, excited to test.
I couldnt apply lag fix right away had to reboot first ... BUT it did tell me my configs changed ???? ... I chose option 1 and noticed it set up like this
ext4
rfs
ext4

?????
booting up was about 2 minutes on android logo
reboot to recovery then fix it to no rfs advanced ... ( all jfs )
looking good I previously dropped this rom because of modem giving me issue
will set my stuff and report back if needed .
PS why is the Fm app always in your rom ? do you hope it will work at one point ?
looks great yay launcher pro included
you few that download already, here is a better videoplayer.apk. it doesnt fix the problem, but at least youll be able to view your recorded videos from /sdcard-dcim-camera. still looking at problem and trying to find a fix.
from this point on this video player is included with the rom.(reuploaded)

some people have said if that app is removed it can cause problems. if you dont like it, remove it from /system/app.
first boot will take a while as it zipaligns and deodexes.
and btw this rom has nothing in common with my other di11is darkyy rom except my theme. this is my own base.
Ive been running your darky rom 2.0.1 for a day with the jk3 modem. Downloading now to check out the CM mms. I hope its the one with the notification vibration types like multiple long.

thx bro. was planning on reflashing myself to verify.
My home button didnt work either, not sure about lock screen. Flashing back to stock now.
My home button worked fine. hmmm, also I can confirm the video player.apk in the first post for us couple who downloaded early is letting me play video. But just as stated, can only open it from file manager to view.
great rom so far, its fast. Yes, I did run benchmarks, not that they really matter anymore. can notice the difference in speed when deleting widgets, open anything. It screams, props di11igaf, awesomely quick rom.

just downloaded my own file, reflashed to stock put the downloaded file on my sd and flashed again with no probs. first thing i did though was apply lagfix and when the backup and restore options pop up make sure you choose the first option to backup and restore all data.

preciate it, will try later. problem probably because i apply lagfix "without backup and restore."
ahh ya i bet thats why. not sure why it really would matter(since the problem your describing would be an android.policy.jar problem) but im gonna try it that way and see if it makes a difference. thats the only thing different that we did though.
also i think if you apply the lagfix that way, any apps in the rom that are in /data/app by default will not be restored-at least this has happened to me in the past and why now i always do a backup and restore.
I did a yes without backup and restore, and the home button ain't workin.

[Discontinued] Helly Bean Cbalt Edition V26 Test Online

Here is just some of what is changed. Mine isn't just a stock port, mine has stuff removed. dave71670's Salty Rom is in the second post.
Now without further ado, here is my V26 Test Release
Wipe Data/Factory Reset/Wipe Dalvik Cache/Flash Rom/Flash Addons/Advanced Fix Permissions In Recovery. If your power button randomly stops working from flashing my rom or anything else happens and you blame me I am going to laugh at you. If you do not know what you are doing, don't attempt to flash it. If you break it you fix it, I will help, but I am not responsible for anything.
My V26 Test Build = http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?iv6mz6cr82l663p
V26 Addons (Same As V25) = http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?ja32agzq3o82ky3
Removed Apps & Files Folder (Some of them are newer than the old folder) = http://www.mediafire.com/?c0f17oxct7dq5
I am calling it a test release at this point, since I haven't ran it more than about an hour. I haven't had any problems though. If coming from CM10 or something else you will more than likely need to flash twice, first flash will go to around 15% and flash the kernel and reboot, second flash will go all the way and say install complete.
Changelog :
Based on 09/04/2012 Helly Bean
MMS updated with pop up notifications
Added https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.helroz.GSII_Repair&hl=en to the rom since I have noticed people complaining of losing there EFS folder a lot lately. I would download this on your current rom and back it up as long as you imei is correct, just to have it for all future releases of my rom or whoevers rom you decide to go to in case you ever lose your EFS folder which has your IMEI. It is a small app, is free and works great, I tried it by backing it up on my phone and then deleting my efs folder, then restoring it later with this program after I got the generic imei error. Credits go to Helroz for the app

renamed the two navbar menus
More Build.prop tweaks
Edited Build.Prop Look In About Phone
Kernel in rom is always the latest VC Kernel
Updated GPS Config
Changed Boot Animation, Wait for a few seconds on boot up if you think it froze, It did not.
Changed Modem To KC1
Changed Updater.sh to Flash Modem if you have a modem already installed or not.
I have also created what I would like to call Cbalts Launcher Program. I have 4 launchers in the removed files folder, Apex, Nova, Trebuchet, And Zeam. You can flash any of them and it will remove the default zeam, to get zeam back flash Removal Tool.zip which will remove all 4 of the launchers if you decide to install all four of them at once. Then reflash the launcher of your choice and that will be the only launcher you have. If you do not reflash a launcher after flashing Removal Tool.zip you will not have a launcher. All launchers remove zeam, but the zeam launcher, I set it up that way since zeam is the default launcher. If you want a new launcher, tell me your choice and link me to it and I will make a flashable zip for it.

Okay, since someone else already grabbed above me, I gotta say this.
This boot animation (cbalt) is beyond atrocious. The idea is not to have as much **** fly over the screen as possible. The last image looks like a 10 year old + ms paint.
Look at slim ics' animation. That one does it's job, looks good and classy.
I know I'm coming off as a troll, but it needs to be said.
I look forward to the rest of the ROM. Thanks a lot. I do really appreciate it.
I think the separate thread was a good idea.
Cool!
I may check this ROM out.
You may want to create a zip file for those who want to add back on any of the removed stuff.
I woud not need this as I use Titanium Backup.:victory:
factory reset?
is factory reset really necessary? i thought wipe data, cache partition and dalvik would be sufficient. and fix permissions too.

Probably a wise idea since you are coming from a different JB ROM or an ICS ROM or GB.
I would imagine that subsequent flashes of this ROM would not require a factory reset or /system wipe once you are on this ROM.

now that you mentioned it, it does looks familiar 'wipe data / factory reset' in cwm. initially i thought factory reset means formatting internal storage. i don't want that to happen.

I personally recommend a wipe every update of this rom, just to help avoid issues, since dirty flashing is never ideal. Yes you can dirty flash, would I do it no, I wipe every time even if it is just a little change I did in the rom, I like to try and avoid issues as much as possible.
Full wipe it is - format /system, too?
Anyways, you need to update your sig/link:

Yes I would do that to. Why do I need to update my sig? That link works. I still spend most of my time in CWM Flashing roms (mostly my versions though) .
Sounds like you've got a great rom here. The change log is GREATLY appreciated. Could you fill me in on the difference between "my v13" and devil v13 please. Do the "nightly 8/1 changes" apply to only the devil edition or your v13 as well? Thank you!

Most of the difference is the stuff that is removed from devils version in my version. There are some other differences, such as some build.prop changes, updater-script changes, gps changes and some other stuff. If you look at the first post it will show must of the stuff I removed.
PS I am working on CWM Flashable Zips to Restore All Apps I removed and then Individual Zips to restore just one app that you want or more than one. Also working on a flashable zip to restore media aka notifications, system sounds etc.

Yes they do, since his rom is my base that I improve more to my liking since I like a slimmer rom personally and dont use all the stuff I removed. He rom is an amazing rom and is perfect if you use all the stuff he includes.
quick question, if i am on Devil Edition V13 Aka 0801 Build, but want to try cbalt's V13 Release, does that require a wipe / factory reset? or could i just wipe cache and dalvik and flash?
pros - quick boot time, snappier than DerTeufel1980's V10 (rom which i was from), benchmarks show better scores than my previous rom (antutu, quadrant, linpack, nenamark, smartbench)
cons- not sure what you want to show in your bootanimation but i've seen better ones. changelog contains negativity. i don't know what happened between you and those 3 people but including rage in your rom does create some perceptions among users, at least me.
nonetheless, keep up the good work! with less anger perhaps

Was my first animation, haven't had time to create another one and improve on that one. If you don't like what I put in the changelog and don't like the rom, then don't install it. Simple as that. I make the rom primarily for me and share it to be nice.
Btw im not angry.
Updated OP-Included Folder with all removed files.
Wasn't sure which thread to post in:
Running Der Teufel version and only issue I'm noticing is SDCard not being mounted after a reboot. Have had to go into Settings -> Storage -> select Mount SDCard each time. This also causes my default ringtone/notification to show as "Unknown" and has to be reset.
Anyone else having similar issues?

10 things to try after successfully rooting Xperia Z

So today I have recorded a video and compiled a list of MODs and apps that I thought were most useful to have after successfully rooting your Sony Xperia Z.
So here is my youtube video:
Necessary links to MODs and apps presented in this video:

Yeah, I don't understand how it works but for some reason whenever I got the navigation and notification bar to disappear I just flashed the softkey mod and it appeared again . Hopefully someone more technical than me will make a use of it and design a better fix.
Big thanks for sharing this mate! Using a couple of these mods now, and that Greenify app is AWESOME. No idea how I haven't heard about it before

hi shem2409,
ok. 2 things:
- that is most probably my fault but the softkey_...._black.zip also gives you a black background for both, status and navigation bar. I could have been more descriptive in my post... sorry =)
- Ticklefish's Black status+ notification bar mod should give you in addition this:
Ticklefish said:
I've also changed the background of the toggles on the notifications screen to black as well. Looks nice, huh?
Click to collapse
but since both mods change SystemUI.apk they are going to overwrite each other. and if you flash the softkey mod, the black background of the toggles should be gone? can you confirm that? (the bars will still be black - since you flashed the softkey_black.zip)
and there could be a problem when doing mine and ticklefishs mod in the opposite order: I've put the ".odex file" into the SystemUI.apk, so it runs with odexed and deodexed roms - but it deletes the SystemUI.odex during installation (this is needed so the one from inside the apk is taken by android). Since ticklefish's mod does not have that "odex file" included (it's actually "classes.dex" when it's inside an apk), it will not work if you install his mod after the softkey mod...
so as far as I can tell from here (I haven't tried it out - just have looked at the files), step 5 is overwriting the changes made in step 4.
cheers and thanks for the video tutorial!
If you were to flash smaller soft keys, would games and apps scale correctly or would the image just be stretched? So right now if the soft keys occupy 100 pixels in height, and was changed to 50, would games use the extra pixels? Would it be stretched to fit or would it run at a higher resolution? Or would there be a dead space?

I checked in a couple of games and the bar remains smaller in the games, so I guess the game is stretched to fit the extra screen space.

After TWRP backup I would install, Titanium backup, and do a backup of all the apps and settings, then install an optimised ROM, then 4 and 5 are covered in most cases.

If someone is on locked bootloader there is a limited number of ROMs available at the moment and tbh I haven't found one with smaller softkeys yet. As far as I am concerned the only one for locked bootloader available is the one in the link under my video. I could be wrong though.
Well, flash the smaller keys separately.
I have added the new MOD to add a background to the notification bar to the list.

[ROM][Lollipop][Omni 5.1.1] P5wifi (DISCONTINUED)

Hi all, here I wish to continue porting OmniROM from the P4/P4wifi over to our device the P5/P5wifi.
*Please note that this is simply a port of an already built rom. It was not built from source therefore anything that you may find to be broken will more than likely remain broken until it is fixed in the parent ROM.
-Many thanks to the builder of this rom @AAccount. His hard work made this ROM possible. :good:
-Thanks to @jolinnard whose kernel is being used in these ROMs. :good:
*On first boot the keyboard will not be showing. The fix is simple. Go to settings>Language & Input. Tap on Current Keyboard and flip the toggle next to Hardware. The keyboard should now be fine.
Working:
Everything works on the P5 AFAIK
Not working:
SELinux---------Need a recovery that supports it.
To those looking forward to a P5 3G rom then please note that there will not be one any time soon. AAccount has stopped building for the p4 3g so that means we don't have a 3g rom to port anymore. So unless AAccount starts porting for the p4 again there won't be a P5 rom.
Flash Instructions
Wipe data, system, cache, dalvik if coming from another ROM. If ugrading to a newer build then a simple Dalvik and cache wipe will do
Flash the ROM zip
Flash GAPPs (Thanks to @jolinnard)
Flash SuperSU
Reboot and enjoy
Original ROM thread
Credits
@AAccount - for the ROM
@jolinnard - For the kernel
@decatf - for his work on the p4 kernel which is used here that delivers great performance
If you helped out and I missed you in the credits then send me a PM and you will be credited
This port has been discontinued!!
"See why
Hey! Maybe some day I will back to Omni. I'm planning to erase my Gtab of Google stuff and enjoy a clean Android experience.

Awesome!! Erased my internal sdcard by accident last week. Luckily I have the same files on my Nexus 9 so I was saved. This port works great for me. Should I even port for the P5? AAccount stopped building for the p4 as of May 23. Reason being that 3G doesn't work but oddly enough it does work on the P5 using our modified KK kernel and your data_on script.

Did you try with advanced wifi configuration? Try not use dhcp to assign wifi. Use a fixed ip. I had the same issue and that was the solution.

I have no such problems. My WiFi connects just fine. Try turning airplane mode on for a moment then turn it back off and try connecting again. Could it be the kernel? I'll p.m you a kernel to try and see if it fixes anything later on. Any logs?
OP has been updated with links to the new build released by AAccount today. According to him there were no major changes, just the usual Omni sync.
thanks for the unexpected gift! unfortunately i have problems with the zip package, it can't be opened/flashed, redownloaded 4-5 times from pc and tablet, same, checked the MD5 and it matches...am i the only one having troubles with it?

Got also problems with the WiFi connection. My network uses 192.168.2.xx range

I'm sorry to hear that. You can use adb to push a zip file to your sdcard for installation.
Use this command
Code:
adb push romname.zip sdcard
Or you could use sideload to install one as well. in twrp go to advanced then select adb sideload and connect your tab to your pc. Open up windows command prompt and type
Code:
adb sideload romname.zip
This should get a rom installed to your tab.
File has been re-uploaded. It opens fine now and should work fine.

tnx for the quick answer. I've been able to sideload your first rom but it has lot of fc when installing or updating the apps from the playstore. Setting cpu to 1.2 had no result.
I will try your new uploaded file tomorrow.

I have absolutely no problems with the ROM. No force closes or anything. Can you try a clean install of the 0716 build and see if it fixes anything?
Just before your re-upload I installed aosp-5.1.1-p5wifi-20150513. (Jollinnard). This ROM runs better than the UltraPlus I had before.
What are the advantages of your ROM over Jollinard's?

There aren't any huge differences but here are a few notable changes
1) Ability to change battery icon
2) Battery color changes based on charge level
3) Pre rooted
4) Performance settings app included
5) Omniswitch recent
And a few others nothing big. IMO I prefer the browser in the omnirom over the aosp browser and the omni keyboard over the Google keyboard in the aosp ROM. But that's personal preference. Try both and pick a side *twix ad*

Edit the updater script and at the top where you see p5wifi simply delete the "WiFi" part so only p5 remains. Save the file put it back into the ROM zip and flash. Or you could simply flash the p5wifi recovery and you'll no longer have to worry about editing the script.
For future ROMs I think I'll remove the assert lines in the updater script so nobody else will have to worry about them.

[GUIDE][MULTIBOOT] Multiboot ROMs on Lenovo K3 Note

I'm NOT the developer/creator of this app/method. Chenxiaolong is. Here's the link to the official thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2447534
Credits: @chenxiaolong - This guy is just great. Our device required many additional hacks and changes to work because of its crappy closed-source update-binary and closed-source Mediatek sources. This awesome dev had to work a lot to get this work fully on our device. Yes, he did. Debug builds, logs, debugging, reworking and all, and he never stopped. That's just amazing. So, I want to thank him wherever you see his post and if you can PLEASE donate as your token of appreciation. :good::fingers-crossed:
@911-Future_Maker Some help and tips in the initial stages.
@FeyoMx Initial helps since my phone wasn't rooted then.
Me. No I'm not exaggerating. I did my fair share of work in testing debug builds and providing logs and testing again. So, press thanks if this worked for you :victory:
Disclaimer:
Neither I nor the dev is responsible for any damage this app does to your device.
You MUST have a nandroid backup in case something bad happens.
Only do something after the whole thread a few times.
Yes, this is true multibooting. Install as many ROMs as our internal storage allows. I can't install more than 3 ROMs (on extsd-slot) as I have a lot of apps.
Here's the procedure:
1- Download the latest version of the app from https://snapshots.noobdev.io and the DualBootUtilities.zip (https://snapshots.noobdev.io/DualBootUtilities-8.0.0.r2162.gc717564.zip)
Note: Only version 8.0.0.r2157.g7d47ab8 and newer completely supports our device.
2- Select ROMs from the navigation drawer of the app on the left
3- Grant supersuser/root rights when it asks
4- Click "Set kernel" if it is asked.
5- Click the three-dot menu on the first ROM, which will be your current ROM.
6- Scroll down and click update ramdisk
7- Reboot
8- Select "Patch Zip file" from the navigation drawer
9- Press the + button and select the zip of the ROM you want to install.
10- Select the slot to which you want to install the ROM.
Take either a data-slot or an extsd-slot.
I recommend using an extsd-slot because the internal memory gets full very fast. Even if you install to extsd-slot, only /system/ is stored on the SD card because having data and cache as image files on the SD card shortens its lifespan by almost a week.
11- Patch the GApps, Xposed or any other zip you want to install to this ROM the same way giving the extsd-slot number you gave for the ROM.
12- Install the patched zip. There are two ways:
I) in recovery (highly recommended)
II) through the built-in zip flasher. Click on the circle in the ROMs page. Add the zips with the plus button. Click the tick.
13- Reboot. It'll automatically reboot the new ROM if it was installed successfully.
14- Voila!! You are now multibooting!
To switch between ROMs, you need the Dual Boot Patcher app on that ROM. Navigate to ROMs, and click you ROM you want to switch. A tick will appear.
Reboot.
EDIT: Forgot about app sharing. Here it is
App Sharing:
Yes, this feature allows you to share the data of your apps across the ROMs. That means you'll have your Chrome tabs open as you left it in the other ROM. Cool !
Instructions:
1- Navigate to App Sharing settings in the navigation drawer.
2- Select "Share individual apps" and reboot.
3- Select the apps you want to share in "Manage shared apps" and select "Use shared data".
4- Reboot to the same ROM. This is very important. If you switch ROMs, you'll lose your data and you will have uncheck "Use shared data" to get it back.
5- Reboot to the ROM with which you want to share data.
6- Install the app if it isn't installed.
7- Do the same as steps 2, 3 and 4 in that ROM. Yes, rebooting to another ROM there can also result in data loss.
8- You will now have the same data across all those ROMs :victory:
I've tried sharing WhatsApp, Google Chrome, a game and Tapatalk and all these work perfectly fine.
Bugs:
I haven't seen any (of the app, do NOT report ROM bugs here)
If you find any, provide logs. If it was while installing provide the recovery.log from TWRP>Settings>Copy logs to SD
If ROM not booting, flash GetLogs.zip from the website (link: https://snapshots.noobdev.io/misc/getlogs/GetLogs-20160120.zip)
If a ROM is not booting, don't worry, reboot to recovery, and flash the DualBootUtilities.zip and switch to primary ROM.
N.B.: The touch screen doesn't work in AROMA on our device. So, navigate using volume buttons. It's a bit weird, but you'll get you used to it.
Yes, it's risky. That's why you should have a nandroid backup.
I'll try to help you as much as I can, but I'm not a dev. So, if you provide logs, I'll see and if it is something new, I'll tell the dev. He is usually busy.
N.B.: This whole post was written on my phone, so it's bad, I know. I'll edit it when I get time.
Please press thanks if I have helped you.

Why? You can dualboot no matter what's your default write disk. You must just have enough free space. Using 4 roms currently, my default disk is internal storage and my primary rom has a tons of apps installed. Btw @sandeep.sethi I'm having problems trying to dualboot your latest AICP rom. 5 fast vibrations and back to recovery.

This is easy. I'll guess you're installing MIUI or CM right? Because these roms usually contains this limitation about "hermes" only devices. Just open the updater-script which can be found in META-INF/com/google/android path, open it as text via some root file manager and edit it removing the following lines:
Code:
getprop("ro.product.device") == "hermes" || abort("This package is for \"hermes\" devices; this is a \"" + getprop("ro.product.device") + "\".");
Success.
Hey @Salman A. bro I have a little update on your question about that can we install a VibeUI on extsd-slot or in any other slot different than primary. Good news - it works like a charm, screen attached from last night when I was again playing with flashing roms on my phone lol.
Installed VibeUI_1604_ST on extsd-slot all working, I just edited the updater-script to prevent boring errors like that one above removing these line:
Code:
getprop("ro.product.model") == "Lenovo K50-t5" || abort("This package is for \"Lenovo K50-t5\" devices; this is a \"" + getprop("ro.product.model") + "\".");
So now running VibeUI from my extsd card lol, I flashed it just to confirm it's possible, but I think I'll wipe it and flash it again as primary because I mostly play games on VibeUI and I don't want to run a heavy game from my extsd while the entire phone system is also running from the card. It will slow down the things.
Meanwhile I still can't make the AICP rom by sandeep a multiboot ready. Sometimes it hangs at the logo, sometimes vibrates 5 times and reboots back to recovery. I posted at the dualboot thread and really hope that Chen will help me.

Sometimes it hangs at the logo, sometimes and vibrates 5 times and reboot back to recovery. I posted at the dualboot thread and really hope that Chen will help me.

Wait! I forgot to mention that I also tried VibeUI_1606 from needrom and it while it had instaled fine it doesn't boot! Got stucked at the logo... I don't know for the other MM roms, you may want to try 1605 as I already tried 1606 and as you can see without success. So may be no multiboot for MM for now...if you have enouh space on internal you may try and report. So the bottom line:
VIBEUI_1604_ST Android 5.1 is working
VIBEUI_1606_DEV Android 6.0 won't boot.
Phone: Lenovo K3 Note
ROM: 04_K3_NOTE_5.1_1604_STABLE_ROW_004_CUOCO92
Kenrnel fix successful but in primary ROM While updating ram disk it gave error
log file attached
Please help
Using the latest Dualboot 2162 build with the VibeUI_3.1_1606 - can't update the ramdisk and also not indicating that the primary rom is the currently running.
I still can switch to other rom via the utilities zip so for now it's a compromise that I chose to make.

Which is your ROM??
It's because of the ro.build.product of your build.prop

This is easy. I'll guess you're installing MIUI or CM right? Because these roms usually contains this limitation about "hermes" only devices. Just open the updater-script which can be found in META-INF/com/google/android path, open it as text via some root file manager and edit it removing the following lines:
Code:
getprop("ro.product.device") == "hermes" || abort("This package is for \"hermes\" devices; this is a \"" + getprop("ro.product.device") + "\".");
Success.

You have to change ro.build.product to aio_otfp without _m in your build.prop. If you are still trying that zip, you will still have to edit the updater-script. My advice, don't use it. That's very old. Try the new CM 12.1 Beta 3
