LS992 USA Sprint model also had an update this week. Same date on security patch - 1st of June 2017.

Poland got it today as well. Probably it's the security patch only, as I see that LG starts to treat this issue more seriously lately.

Yea. Just got it in UK. Security update from April to June but can't sre much else. Still 7.0.

So it's mostly just containing the Qualcomm exploit patches I assume? Was about time.

any improvement with screen burn ?

yeah... of course... of course... *rolls eyes*

haha......nice posts! Very entertaining...

What is the changelog? The update is pretty big in terms of size for a simple security patch update, probably contains others changes.

In this case since lowering color temperature with third part Apps seems drastically reduce the image retention effect(after this tweak I haven't see the problem again, before the tweak, retention was so strong to be visible even after display shutdown for a whole day) would be possible a patch for calibrating better the display to avoid the problem.

any improvements on this V20i firmware... Such as performance, Camera usability, etc

Your statement makes no sense. If I can, Lg can too including the same default configuration. Isn't needed any search. It's obvious, like It's obvious that you don't know what you are talking about but you want to look wiseacre.

Same rel here in Italy yesterday (but dated 28JUN...).Obviously I'm looking for a flashable zip since I'm rooted... ?

We knew LG is going to release it before end of the year, but as we can see work on the update is in advanced state already.
Screenshot shows that interface isn't going to be changed dramatically. IMO that's a good thing.

If they were going to release a rom before the end of 2014 (less than 2 months away) they were always going to have the rom in a near complete state by the middle of this month at the latest.
Mixture of lg's ui and lollipop's ui...
It is awkward
I have a feeling it's going to be a horrible mess of elements.
I doubt about "a few".... 2 or 9 . Anyway, this is a good new.
Oh man. That quick settings panel looks horrible. I hope the finished product doesn't carry those Optimus UI elements.
Jesus, that's terrible looking.
LG
Please dont use this disgusting color in lollipop
It is not appropriate color for lollipop
Why the softkey doesn't change ?
It's not final.
I don't know why are you telling it looks horrible. G3 UI is flat and fits material design. Notifications look same as on N5 + quick settings. Nothing horrible here imo...

There are already Lollipop KDZs for the F400 variants out there now! You gotta pay for them on this site but Im sure they will surface "other" places very soon
http://www.lgbbs.net/forum-65-1.html
Honestly I wished LG would provide us a more "vanilla" look... Apart from the introduction screen and notification panel not much seem to have change graphically :/
Just hoping it's not the final look
I just wish they would forget about updating to Lollipop and concentrate all of their available resources on properly optimising what we already have.
Oh god i am so hyped.

New firmware 32.0.A.6.152

Just noticed there's a new firmware 32.0.A.6.152 released to a lot of regions. Downloading now to see if I can spot any changes, not expecting Marshmallow though
It's just a bug fix. Not vulnerable to Stagefright. any more.
Anyone received OTA for it yet?
Will flashing the new firmware remove the root access or wipe any data?
Root, yes. If you don't wipe userdata, it shouldn't wipe.
Yeah stagefright fixed but don't see anything else different either. The bug with expanding notifications auto-minimising is still there. I got this from a taiwanese thread about this firmware:
Update "Home" version.
Optimization "cameras" startup speed.
Re-optimized phone heating problem.
Upgrading contacts database.
Optimization of fluency.
"Camera" photographs accelerated storage time!
Optimization "cameras" code.
"Fingerprint" to enhance the ability to identify.
Optimize "RAM."
"Calendar" interface optimization.
Add "VoLET" function.
I don't notice any difference to camera startup time (from cold boot). WIll take some time to see if it's better in general.

Is the blur on the left handside still there?
in Italy was released on PC Companion
The camera takes photos way faster now, there used to be a pause after the capture, now it's ready to take another one straight away, I guess that's the "accelerated storage time".
I never really had much blur how would you like me to test it (mode/megapixels etc)

New firmware released, 45.0.A.7.137

I just got the new firmware last night on my XZP dual. it comes with September security patch and improved WiFi performance, bugs fixes, optimisations & improvements (written on the update log).
What I noticed was that stuttering on Facebook app is almost gone (heavily stuttered on previous firmware especially when open some external links). Touchscreen issue is gone (I suspected this issue happened earlier due to network incompatibility that slows down the phone to the point that touch input is not recognized sometimes, it could be temporarily solved by removing sim card or swapping between sim slot 1 and 2(only possible on dual sims variant) This problem does not happen to everyone).
Will update if I find any interesting changes.

Thanks for your thread! It reminds me what i wanted to do if i got some free time. Haha... I saw that yesterday on sonymobile.com but I had no time to check it in depth. I will do that now, because they also planned to do changes for unlocked devices (no green pictures anymore) a few months ago. Would be awesome if they really did that. And I hope that they fixed the other bugs, too. I also noticed the stuttering on Facebook and some other apps.
Edit: XperiFirm actually has only the "Customized TH" @ 45.0.A.7.137 for the G8142. Have to wait for the others. But I will take a look at this version now.
Nothing here on the G8141, NL in the EU.

I'm on a carrier specific firmware and think about flashing a generic one. Do you guys know which files should I omit in newflasher to not mess up with the encryption because I don't want a factory reset?

Did it change the down homescreen swipe to pull the notification shade down? I'm using Nova now but still.

According to someone in the Sprint thread its for Google Maps/Navigation stability and fixes.
That it does. It has to do with navigation and swipe. Nothing big.
Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
It's a really big security patch for one of the largest Android vulnerabilities too. I'm glad it enhances swipe, the samsung keyboard is particularly inaccurate on this phone.
Does NOT patch BlueBorne Vulnerability!!!!
Installed the update this morning. It does NOT eliminate the BlueBorne vulnerability, unless Armis' scanner is broken ...
EDIT: Contacted Armis and received the following in response:
Armis Security said:
We have reviewed this. It appears that Verizon pushed a critical update that addresses BlueBorne. However, in our review they did not change the security patch level of this build to September 1, 2017. The Security Patch Level (SPL) in build NMF26X.N950USQU1AQI5 shows a date of August 1, 2017.
We have updated our device scan and review to account for this, and it will be available on the Google Play store shortly.
Thank you for reaching out us on this issue.

EDIT #2: An updated version of the BlueBorne Scanner from Armis is available on Google Play. I've installed it, but unfortunately it still indicates that VZW devices are vulnerable.
UPDATE: Armis' app has been updated to version 1.04, which correctly identifies VZW Note 8s as having been patched to eliminate the vulnerability.
It changed my 4GLTE icon so that it is constantly highlighted even on Wi-Fi. I don't think that was present before unless I'm mistaken

Easy OTA upgrade with rooted phone, as always. Never had an issue installing OTAs using the well-known method (restore images, install update, install magisk into inactive slot, hit reboot in magisk)
In the meantime, I wish I had a boot.img of v1.1.7... I'm thinking.
Any link for EAA Devices??
Waiting this one out. If and when people can confirm that FPS issues in games and some apps like Ingress Prime, Pokemon GO, Star Trek Timelines etc. is fixed I'll stay on 1.1.3 for now.

Haven't noticed anything buggy to be honest. But I use my phone probably less intensive than others. My games work like I want them to. I use a bit of twitter which works fine. It connects to my car without problems. Foto's are fine for me. As far as I can tell by reading in discord, twitter and here about the updates, they break more than they fix.
So for me it's a big dealbreaker when I am limited in function by updates that serve no purpose for me personally.

It had mostly been UI glitches for me. In my experience 1.1.6 has been a great update, most issues I had were fixed. But I also don't play any games at all so I didn't know there were fps issues.
