G3 Lollipop update in few weeks [screenshot] - G3 General

According to Polish LG-fan blog, Lollipop update will be available in few weeks. The most interesting part here is the screenshot they provided:

We knew LG is going to release it before end of the year, but as we can see work on the update is in advanced state already.
Screenshot shows that interface isn't going to be changed dramatically. IMO that's a good thing.

If they were going to release a rom before the end of 2014 (less than 2 months away) they were always going to have the rom in a near complete state by the middle of this month at the latest.

Mixture of lg's ui and lollipop's ui...
It is awkward

I have a feeling it's going to be a horrible mess of elements.

I doubt about "a few".... 2 or 9 . Anyway, this is a good new.

Oh man. That quick settings panel looks horrible. I hope the finished product doesn't carry those Optimus UI elements.

Jesus, that's terrible looking.

LG
Please dont use this disgusting color in lollipop
It is not appropriate color for lollipop

Why the softkey doesn't change ?

It's not final.
I don't know why are you telling it looks horrible. G3 UI is flat and fits material design. Notifications look same as on N5 + quick settings. Nothing horrible here imo...

Hi folks, I also have some pictures of Lollipop G3 from a Vietnamese forum, and I want to share with you

There are already Lollipop KDZs for the F400 variants out there now! You gotta pay for them on this site but Im sure they will surface "other" places very soon
http://www.lgbbs.net/forum-65-1.html

Honestly I wished LG would provide us a more "vanilla" look... Apart from the introduction screen and notification panel not much seem to have change graphically :/
Just hoping it's not the final look

I just wish they would forget about updating to Lollipop and concentrate all of their available resources on properly optimising what we already have.

Oh god i am so hyped.

F' it! I think Im gonna buy the F400S Lollipop KDZ and attempt to port it over ot the D850. Looking that the screenshots, it uses the same kernel (3.4.0) as KK

You can probably already find a mirrored link to that kdz but gotta have google translate fired up to do so

You would be a god in my eyes if you did this omfg

[RANDOM] Verizon logo found in stock 4.2.2 rom

Does anyone else notice that HTC might be moving to one rom for all the carriers? I found ATT, Tmobile, Verizon, and Sprint status bar logos in the stock 4.2.2 update. I think HTC is doing the right thing here. Put everything in one rom, then based on the CID, install certain things. I still think that att should leave the icons alone...but this is better than nothing.
I guess this also confirms the Verizon variant of the One. (I know verizon confirmed it this morning)
EDIT: BTWm this was from the stock 4.2.2 rom from Mike. Not the ARHD rom.

It is for the demoflo application. Those images are used for HTC One demo so it's not really a junk.
What I consider a junk ROM is nokia's symbian s60v3 ROMs. There are alot of junks in there like image of homer simpson, a corrupt image, bunch of hello world text files, an apple logo with a worm, quotations, a pdf for origami and other stuffs. This even got an article years ago in symbian-freak

Why am I not impressed at all with any of the android L implementations?
It's nothing really innovative that I can see, just different shapes... honestly like touchwiz 42.2, 4.3, 4.4.4 looks better... wouldn't mind seeing their overlay on things...
The Android L that Samsung puts out will not be the same.
It will have all of the Samsung Bloatware and cartoony images.
I have the Android Lollipop update installed on my Nexus 5 and it's beautiful, mostly because it's pure Android and not this TW crap.
With Samsung, it's going to be Android 5.0 Lollipop Touchwiz.
Not to worry, there will be a port as soon as we get custom recovery and custom roms coming out.

Fantastic, its the only thing left that bugs me about the G3. Im pretty sure it affects the entire screen, not just text, so im looking forward to seeing if it improves the contrast.
Does it need a new Kernel? If so can it be on both KK and LP, since im not a fan of the current 20A build.
Wow ! You made my day !! I hope it won't be so hard to fix. I'm kinda new to android stuff, the lg g3 is my first android phone, and without this stupid oversharpening thing, it will be perfect ! Just one question, is it finally kernel related ?

We should get a CM 12S ROM via OTA. The newly announced ROM is for places like India where cyanogen and oneplus have have been having issues with agreements. It will most likely be available for all for download though.
Good cause a big reason I bought this phone was to have cyanogen as stock ROM.
We can probably stick with whatever ROM you're using and you'll get OTA for it. But if you're already on CM and want to switch, I assume you'll need to flash OP's ROM before you can get OTA from them. I don't think there will be a CM -> OP ROM migration path.

Can't really tell that much from the pics to be honest. Im guessing you could probably use nova and an icon pack if things dont look that nice. Plus in the pics it looks like the hardware buttons are being used, would like to see the dock and nav buttons. Will probably being going with the one in the video below anyway this, guessing that this is CM12S as it looks a lot more like stock 5.0.

so.. as expected all UI changes mentioned earlier are there on G5
.
Design is very subtle, really pretty. I like it very much
The design of the UI is something like Samsung Android 6.0 Touchwiz with white accents.
Now without the app drawer (I like it because my home screen is always empty so the home screen is useless for me and settings app looks more cleaner but they bloated with a tons of features that you use it for first time and then not use it at all.
Some people will use these features daily but the average Joe will just use the phone like any other phone. OEM needs some work to advertise these new features when you buy a new phone and the most common thing is to have it enabled by default like the active display otherwise no average user will ding down in settings to see what features does this phone has. Some will some not.

I really like where they're going with the g5. Kinda tired of getting a flagship that just has a processor updates, some hardware updates, and maybe a few gadget apps. This modular thing could really come in handy. Seems like the options could be endless to what module they or third party can make. And wireless charging, I'm sure LG or a third party come up with something. I'll bite!
