New firmware 32.0.A.6.152 - Xperia Z5 General

Just noticed there's a new firmware 32.0.A.6.152 released to a lot of regions. Downloading now to see if I can spot any changes, not expecting Marshmallow though

It's just a bug fix. Not vulnerable to Stagefright. any more.

Anyone received OTA for it yet?

Will flashing the new firmware remove the root access or wipe any data?

Root, yes. If you don't wipe userdata, it shouldn't wipe.

Yeah stagefright fixed but don't see anything else different either. The bug with expanding notifications auto-minimising is still there. I got this from a taiwanese thread about this firmware:
Update "Home" version.
Optimization "cameras" startup speed.
Re-optimized phone heating problem.
Upgrading contacts database.
Optimization of fluency.
"Camera" photographs accelerated storage time!
Optimization "cameras" code.
"Fingerprint" to enhance the ability to identify.
Optimize "RAM."
"Calendar" interface optimization.
Add "VoLET" function.
I don't notice any difference to camera startup time (from cold boot). WIll take some time to see if it's better in general.

Is the blur on the left handside still there?

in Italy was released on PC Companion

The camera takes photos way faster now, there used to be a pause after the capture, now it's ready to take another one straight away, I guess that's the "accelerated storage time".
I never really had much blur how would you like me to test it (mode/megapixels etc)

Try some pics in overcast and indoor conditions in 8MP and 23MP. Mainly wanna see if AF has improved in pics with both close + far objects. Please and thank you!

Serious Camera Improvements with 1.29 OTA!

Just read this article about the 1.29 OTA which is currently rolled out (sorry, it's in german): http://www.androidpit.de/htc-one-update-fotos
(you see before and after pictures, with after on the right)
I knew that HTC did something to the camera software, but I didn't expect the results to be THAT different, looks awesome! Like the author says, it looks like "the gray veil has been lifted"!
HTC One updated with camera enhancement suite and more in Europe
• Improvement to sound capture with Zoe
• Noise reduction in slow motion movie capture
• Improved color reproduction and dynamic range (reduced over-exposure in non-HDR images) in certain conditions
• Fix to display correct ISO in EXIF information when ISO settings are manually changed by the user
• Improved system performance and stability

Again, the update will bring your device to version 1.29.401.13 and this is the international HTC One only.

So the ones with the Developers Edition are out of luck?
I got 1.29.111.11, anyone know what the difference is or where info can be found?
The custom roms ha ve been on this version for a few days now. I can confirm there are definitely light and day improvements, I can't compare with the old version but it's definitely noticeable once you move from stock to custom roms with 1.29xxx.12

That's great news! Can't wait.
Mines on 1.28.61.7 and the camera takes amazing pictures
As for the samples in the thread I think the pics on the left are better although it looks like a simple contrast alteration to me.
"Beats Audio Enhancements"
Did anyone notice better sound coming from the speakers with Beats enabled?
I don't have the phone yet, but I know that some people are complaining about hissing. Did 1.29 correct that?
Thanks!
Good to know but are you sure buttons responding with slite and one touch?

Update rolling out - camera quality improved

Looks like T-Mobile is now officially getting a software update to improve the camera. The linked article has comparison pictures and it looks like the quality is greatly improved. Check it ou

Here's another comparison with more pics:
http://www.anandtech.com/show/7353/moto-x-update-dramatically-improves-camera-quality
I've said it before in numerous threads, the camera was already taking quite decent pictures compared to my old N4. Now with this update, pic quality just went up to the point it can actually compete with the sgs4. I don't expect Moto to stop here as they will continue to make further refinements by the time they release 4.3/4.4.

I could be very wrong, but I think the issues with the camera were outside of the APK. That's why third party solutions didn't fix it.
(I haven't received my moto x yet, so take this with a grain of salt)
I wonder if this update is in the works for other carriers...
Looks like low light performance is gonna take a hit, but it's a necessary sacrifice.

Yeah - the Low light performance was awesome - granted it had a lot of noise, but thats what you sacrifice for taking a picture where normally you wouldn't be able to (high iso)
I guess everyone *****ing about the amount of noise made them reduce the max iso setting.
Reviews look great so far. Can't wait until ATT gets the update.

You all think the camera is better than the S4 now? I've used both phones and while I prefer the Moto X, the previous cam was just awful. So much so that I returned the phone and went back to my S4 Google Edition.
Hard to say..only t mobile people have the update...and t mobile doesn't work within miles of my house.
Have to wait for it to hit the other carriers, probably.

New firmware released, 45.0.A.7.137

I just got the new firmware last night on my XZP dual. it comes with September security patch and improved WiFi performance, bugs fixes, optimisations & improvements (written on the update log).
What I noticed was that stuttering on Facebook app is almost gone (heavily stuttered on previous firmware especially when open some external links). Touchscreen issue is gone (I suspected this issue happened earlier due to network incompatibility that slows down the phone to the point that touch input is not recognized sometimes, it could be temporarily solved by removing sim card or swapping between sim slot 1 and 2(only possible on dual sims variant) This problem does not happen to everyone).
Will update if I find any interesting changes.

Thanks for your thread! It reminds me what i wanted to do if i got some free time. Haha... I saw that yesterday on sonymobile.com but I had no time to check it in depth. I will do that now, because they also planned to do changes for unlocked devices (no green pictures anymore) a few months ago. Would be awesome if they really did that. And I hope that they fixed the other bugs, too. I also noticed the stuttering on Facebook and some other apps.
Edit: XperiFirm actually has only the "Customized TH" @ 45.0.A.7.137 for the G8142. Have to wait for the others. But I will take a look at this version now.

Suppose to be rolling out end of April
The latest april firmware introduced a separate Night Mode, it's not clear if this is what Samsung believes should be its Night Sight Mode or if something else is coming. If this is it, it leaves much to be desired.

They just let you choose the option by your self, nothing else.
I got an update (Poland).
- you're able to shot with night mode in any conditions
- pictures are much brighter most of a time, but quality is rather bad (comparable to auto night mode before) most of the time
- it's not blurry. It's more like "blocky" instead.
- it takes few seconds to take a shot (like Huawei and Pixel)
- IMO - it's definitely still not Pixels or Huaweis territory.

Samsung night mode:
Pixel night sight:
I installed the April firmware yesterday and tried the night mode
It is totally different from the old night mode as it now works the same way as Google pixels and brithen the photo by large amount
The downside is that it have so much noise
Right now am using gcam 6.1 port with nightsight and it is so much better and working as it should but slower than the Samsung application during the stacking and processing of the photo.
I come from P20 Pro so in comparison Samsung version of night shot is sh*it, way too noisy and not even close to as bright or colour accurate.
I tried the Night mode on my S10+ last night in the middle of the night in my dark living room and I am really impressed with the results - it was very dark in the room at the time and image came out pretty darn good -
forget my messy living room.....
after uploading it here - I noticed that the image was rotated but when I took it was in portrait mode - I don't know why it changed it's position when I uploaded it here ? Or does happen from time to time ?
100% dark room and you got that photo? Impossible .
Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk
Maybe my update just doesn't work, but I don't get night mode. Using it just yields a completely dark undistinguishable picture. Normal photo mode with flash gives a clear fairly decent pic. Don't really need it, so I gave use trying to make it work
