[FIX] PC Doesn't Recognize the Phone as ADB Device - Lenovo ZUK Z2 (Plus) Guides, News, & Discussion

If you wanted to unlock bootloader or somehow wanted to run ADB but the PC is unable to install the ADB Driver, This might work
This is the right solution if you see this in your device manager.

1. Right Click on the triangle and select "update driver software."
2. Click on "Browse My Computer"
3. Click on "Let Me Pick"
4. Select something similar to this. Most Probably you'll find this
5. Now select ShenQi and Next (You can use any ADB driver you find, all work)
6. You should end up something similar to this. Now ADB Devices shows up your device and you're ready to go.
Hit Thanks if this helped. :good:
Post any other fixes if you know.

i keep banging my head against the wall, i cant get it to recognize

i had issues with fast boot adb was all good . i had to delete all drivera then installed the 1.0.5 drivers that came with the phone and updated adb and fast boot to the latest sdk and it workes

@ahh988
How did you get latest sdk? Any link or something? I tried it downloading from sdk site and it was 1.9 gb big file... I didn't download then.
And moreover I don't know how to use that qualcomm drivers zip.. Please guide as I am also stuck in the same situation as discussed in OP.

in windows 10 you have to enable the installation of unsigned drivers, and there just install the drivers.

Hi everyone,
I can not update kernel of my Zuk Z2 because I have otg slot not working (usb cable works only as a recharge, it is not a driver problem unfortunately). Is there a way to upgrade to the kernel from 3.18 to 4.4? I've already tried this (https://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-zuk-z2/how-to/flashing-roms-4-4-x-kernel-qpst-t3866215) but in step 4 you are asked to unlocking the bootlooder and can not be done without the adb commands that require otg. Thanks to those who will help me

Root device? Safe?

Hi!
I have had this phone for a while now and thinking about rooting it so i can use droidwall and OC the phone. How is the easiest wat and is it safe?
Isak
i used z4root and no side-effect so far..
Ok, but if something goes wrong is it anyway to recover all data on the phone and just start up again?
i would say its always wise to do a backup before trying anything potentially dangerous..
u may read the other topic about recovery mode in this board for this..
Ok, gör det innan jag försöker roota
good luck and have fun..
worked perfect Thanks!
@Isakk1, can you please guide me how you rooted your u8800 using z4root?I got problem with the driver (huawei hsusb device)
hoping for your immediate response.tnx

USB driver for windows? do you see the auto mounted CD drive after plugging in? the drivers are there
Why need of drivers?
Assuming you are trying to copy z4root on your device... SD-card should mount itself when you plug usb in, just choose to mount from your phone notification are.
Moved to general.
I think this is what you're trying to do:
1. Open device manager, you will see this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Then right click on the HSUSB Device choose update driver then browse my computer manually. Then browse to this:
It will then install the driver and it should show this in device manager now:
Also worthwhile would be starting cmd and running adb devices to make sure the phone is listed.
thankz a lot guys..very appreciated
i rooted my phone . but i feel it's not good idea when i use 1 week. the phone always have some issues when use, so i flash back.
Can someone upload the drivers and share the link coz I can't find the drivers on the mounted drive (it's empty) after I installed the B160 based ROM.
Drivers attached to this post
Thanks alot!
I used z4root from Applanet.net
installed easily and rooted no probs as well.

[Q] MTP USB Device problem

Today, When I connect my Nexus 4 to my computer it starts to install the drivers.
The driver consist of 3 parts, but the last one, the MTP USB device, fails to install. I tried restarting my pc and also tried alternate drivers for Windows 7 32bit.
Anyone familiar with this problem and/or it's solution?

Download and install these usb drivers from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1998650.
edit.. oops, seems i cannot read.
Uninstall the drivers that you have already attempted to install. If you want fastboot/adb, install the usb drivers manually linked 2 posts above me. If you want to simply copy files, make sure you have at least windows media player 11 installed and it will take care of the rest.

Easy way... Turn off USB debugging
Better way... Edit the mtp inf file so it works in USB debugging mode too.. U should find the info with a search.
Edit.. Note..you do need windows media player 11 installed on xp for mtp functionality.

same here
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
same here. Fix?
does anyone know ?
same here but after searching a while and only be able to connect via MTP I found this not a state of the art solution:
I use to rename the file I want to move/copy/paste from xxxx.zip or whatever in xxxx.jpg, even for roms anf kernel
for example I want to copy stremax.zip in my N4 /sdcard/
on the pc just rename it to stremax.jpg
connect via MTP
copy the renamed file to /sdcard
once disconnected use a file manager to rename it to stremax.zip and move/copy/delete or whatever you want
I know, it's rude, some developer is cursing my name, but it works..
other solution is installing airdroid but you need to be on same wi-fi network
Try manually uninstalling and reinstalling drivers?

[Q] Can't Install Drivers

Right,
I've followed this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1622425
Got everything sorted.
I try to install the Acer drivers (official site, other sites.. tried various) and a blank white popup box with 'ok' and 'close' clickable appears when it's on 'installing'. I click ok, and it disappears.
I leave that for a bit, and put it into APX mode, tried the Universal Naked Drivers (Asus Transformer admittedly, but I got desperate!) and no joy when opening APXFlash.
I have installed ADT drivers.
Help!?
It's on an already rooted (was like this when I bought it) ICS (ACER_AV041_A500_1.031.00_WW_GEN1) with bootloader 0.03.12-ICS
My head is against a brick wall here!
Install the drivers manually.
When you click in device manager, don't let it search. Choose have disk. Select the driver manually.
Hope you are not on Win8.
As a last resort (win7 and below) try the Google USB drivers, And select them manually,
MD

Google drivers come in zip format. They should have all necessary drivers.
When you installed your Acer drivers, did you install them with administrator permissions? Yeah, I know, I am the administrator. But sometimes it''s necessary.
(That's why I operate from Ubuntu most of the time)

Regarding the Google Drivers as APX:
UPDATE: I have the Acer Composite ADB Interface installed (that the right driver??) but no joy on APX front.
Update:
Having followed this guide - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1662310
I made some progress.
Now I'm here:

No joy. I'm going to throw it against a wall soon.
The picasso drivers never installed/loaded, I can't get into APX mode... can someone link me to all necessary drivers with a idiot's guide walkthrough? The exe/msi file didn't work for me, and I'm running Windows 7 64bit.
Can u access another pc/laptop-there have been reports in the past of issues with 64bit systems - or use ubuntu

Need Help Manual Fastboot Driver Installation

Hello
Sorry if this was a very noob topic
I done lots of flashing new ROM or back in stock process but i almost gave up this time
My phone status are
No OS
TWRP installed
Can boot to recovery
PC can't recognize the phone
Typing ADB devices shows empty list
Typing Fastboot devices also shows empty lines
30% battery left
I recently try to install the Lollipop version for my phone but it turns out that the zip are behaving like OTA (yep the title of the zips are OTA)
What i mean is it returned my recovery to stock
Without thinking much further i did 'fastboot flash recovery TWRP2810.img' thing (Yes i rename recovery image that way so it will be more convenience for me) and wipe all partition in the phone through the TWRP without problems
One thing i forgot is to "refresh" all ADB and Fastboot driver for my phone on the PC
Now my phone states are "No OS" and "PC doesn't recognize my phone" wether in ADB (obvious cause i can't boot with no OS so no USB debugging for me) and Fastboot (Enter Bootloader is OK, enter TWRP is OK too)
I already try the WUG step for installing the needed driver but no success since my PC can't recognize my phone
Try on 4 PC at my office and all of them are ignoring my phone
What should i do now, please, any help will be appreciated since its already the time i ussualy already at home
Thank You Very VERY MUCH for any help I can get.

Extract the zip.
Once you're done extracting, boot your phone into bootloader mode, plug in USB, should show up as an unrecognized device.
Device manager from control panel, select device, properties, driver, update device driver, browse my computer, let me pick, all devices, have disk, navigate to where you extracted zip, select inf file, adb interface.
Should work.

Please lock this unuseful thread
Before locking the thread, can you repeat all the steps and try with ADB Composite Device instead of ADB Interface?
Also, did you try changing USB ports, sometimes these things get a little troublesome because of faulty USB ports.
Last but not the least, you could also try a change of cables.

[miniTUT][WIN10]Installing ADB Drivers for Sony Devices on Windows 10

Hi, I have managed to install proper ADB drivers on my Win10 and I came up with an idea that it might be useful for other XDA Community members.
You have to manually install the drivers since there is no installer available that is Win10 compatible.
INSTRUCIONS
1. Download drivers for your Sony device from this site LINK
2. Extract the drivers
2. Connect your device to the PC and turn on USB Debugging
3. Open device manager and find a device with a warning icon
4. Right click on the device and choose update driver
5. Choose install the driver manually option (the second one)
6. Enter the path to your extracted drivers (TO THE MAIN FOLDER "/YourDevice'sName")
7. Please make sure that Include subfolder option is checked
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
8. Install the drivers
9. Restart your PC
Tested on Xperia Z1 Compact
Also make sure that you have driver signature verification disabled, because for some devices it won't install that way (XZU)
The other way is to disable signed-driver verification on Windows 10, so every driver will be installed. (It might be a bit risky as you can install a 32-bit driver on a 64-bit o.s but it won't work)

Hi!
I can't get this to work. My Z5 has ADB debugging switched on but there is no device with a warning icon. In ADB mode my Z5 is listed as "portable device". There is no ADB device visible.
