After update, I'm having ghost touch problem. Anyone else?

After updating I am having serious power drain , Power is dropping fast even while sitting and screen turned off
Also very slow to react to touch commands, and voice commands are almost completely stopped

My z5 premium works great after the update. Battery life has improved.

The PS4 remote play sounds great. I wonder if that will work for all playstation functionality (eg I could watch video on it)
The Z3 compact sounds nice too.

There is not very specs difference between Z3 and Z3C .
So I would vote for Z3! Bigger screen
Tapatalk'd from my Xperia™Z (C6602) running Dirty Unicorns ROM!
Yea. But if price is a good margin means i will vote for Z3 Compact ..
to be honest I dont find this much different other then faster CPU and Additional RAM
will continue using Xperia Z till its last breath maybe something will pop up in the future that will change my mind :fingers-crossed:
Snapdragon 810
Would be kinda cool od Sony would release a DualSIM version od the XZ series for the European market. XZ is a very good phone, but i'm tired of using two phones (I have a work and private phone). So if they would release a DualSIM flag phone I would buy it.
This is really stupid. 3 flagships later the things are almost the same.

why you should not abandon your device just yet for Xperia Z3/Android L

while most of you know that Xperia Z3 just announce I have already seen some of them want to dump their Xperia Z for Z3 well here is to tell you why not to do that just yet till a better phone is out, while most of you have hear the upcoming of Oppo and One Plus One which has some killer specs and it is selling as quite cheap I still have chose not to get it here is why Xperia Z is a wonderful device I got it 1 day before Z1 was due to be out yes sadly but Im happy not to get it not forgetting the bootloader unlock causing the camera not to work etc I'm not really a fan of Stock ROM cause I have been using cyanogenmod since Samsung Galaxy S2 (yes Exynos) even Sony Stock isnt that bad in terms of its wonderful Stamina Mode wish it got ported over to CyanogenMod/OmniROM (Android L has some new battery saver its okay) anyway I strongly believe our device wont be getting Android L due to the 18 Month crappy support never less I believe Open Source Community will find a way to bring the goodness to our phone *hint* Android L AOSP
If you feel you want to get a new cell/phone I suggest taking time to look around for something like 4GB RAM And Snapdragon 805 Above which I believe may be quite soon maybe around 6months - 1 year also keep a look out for Oppo/One Plus One as it is quite cheap and they team up with Cyanogen to pretty much bring some of the best flagship phone without burning to much $ from your pocket (if you feel you need to replace your phone at once)
I wish I did gotten a one plus one but hey my Xperia Z is Running OmniROM/CyanogenMod what more can I ask for
Anyone know how to enable "quick pulldown" from CyanogenMod to Z3?
I really like CyanogenMod but the Sony OS is also pretty cool. Stamina mode, camera and also the multitasking! Why isn't anyone talking about that?

According to my experience, XZ is still the best Xperia after XZ2.. Z3 still isn't out yet, so i omitted it out.. And the fw's, we had a flawless 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3 was decent and 4.4.4 is the best ROM XZ got from Sony.. They have given enough already and about Android L, i suggest keep the device and enjoy AOSP/CM12 or whatever they are gonna name it.. I am sure XDA devs are gonna give it to us.. I am on the process of learning development too, hope to give something to XZ before giving it away.. And i still don't find any reason to give up my XZ and upgrade to XZ2 or XZ3.. My needs are easily fulfilled..
I don't like CyanogenMod tbh and I only like Sony stock roms which is why I'm looking at the Z3 I have had the XZ since launch so you know time for a change
I suggest NOT to buy any of Sony phones because of very many dead displays, buggy firmwares (even 4.4.4 have problems with sound, stamina), high temperature of back panel and the worst service
Sent from my C6603 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I would prefer sony for the beautiful stock Rom . I got xz as soon as it got released. Now it's only half the price. Next time, I would consider buying a cheaper phone. Xiaomi mi4/mi5
Looking at the past couple years I have found the phones released at the start of the year to be the better products from Sony and the ones released in September to be merely improvements and tweaks.
Also there is the future potential of the 64 bit processors like Snapdragon 810 which are expected to be used in flagship handsets next year as so far only Samsung has used the 805 chip in the Note 4.
Things like 4GB ram are useless in a phone except for professionals that have any use for that from a development standpoint. It is a phone afterall.
The Xperia Z is a great handset and meets all the needs for a smartphone. I am happy to wait longer for the next brilliant device to come along.

KitKat and jelly bean looks better

9 hours!

Android L has the possibility of increasing that number too.. Unless Sony fudges it up
Historicity they seem to give more care and attention to the first few updates.
Battery life is the only major issue I have with my XZ.. I may just pickup a Z2 when the Z3 pushes the prices down though.

Regretted switching from z2

I bought the Z3 due to its advanced features such as the camera and the hi-res audio. In the end, Z2 got ALL the key features from Z3 today after a software update. Quite pissed off

you get a phone with sexier design and better battery life!
Lets hope the next firmware for z3 can pull the gap between Z2 & Z3. Both phones are too similar in specs and almost the same in Software!!

Better battery life too, coming from a Z1, the Z3 is definitely worth the upgrade

Z1 to Z3 maybe a big upgrade but Z2 to Z3 is not worth it, you should have waited for Z4 which comes Feb/Mar with major changes.

Rumors are its QHD, I hope not because they did the same with the G3 and it took a big hit in battery life compared to the G2, for not much gain in visual quality, not to mention increased heat due the display causing overheating.

And QHD is basically useless as far as I can tell on a smartphone screen (even at 6"). Our eyes can only distinguish so much.

I myself was thinking about z2 over z3, but the z3 was made to cover up all the bads of z2
Screen brightness what i saw on z2 wasn't anything special, it's much brighter on z3
Speakers are louder
Sleeker body, aluminium frame
Better snapdragon 801 chip
And much more
The only downgrade i found out was i cannot write with a pencil on the z3
Coming from the z ultra, i had considered both Z2 and z3. I know much of the new things are software enhancements only and will likely go down to the z2 as well.
However I decided on the z3 because it looks and feels so much nicer

As someone who upgraded from the Z2 to the Z3, I'm really glad to see Sony supporting their devices and backporting the features that they can. It takes nothing away from the Z3 and improves the brand overall.

Which carrier are you on?
Upgraded from Z1 to Z3 seems a better deal than Z2 to Z3. The specs of 2 and 3 are so similar!!!
I am still using my Z1 btw because I rooted my Z1 to allow me to move stuff to SD cards, now waitjng for easy 1click ways to root Z3
I also upgraded from z2 to z3. I wouldnt really upgrade tbh if my contract would not end few weeks ago, and I can really tell that it is a little upgrade only on paper. Phone looks and feels much better, its thinnier and lighter, and rounded sides make holding it more comfortable. I could not live without root so I unlocked a bootloader and rooted it, and camera is still good enough for me. The only thing that pisses me of is that ps4 remote play doesnt work with unlocked bootloader

How about improved battery life?

Has Sony forgotten the Z3+?

So older phones have been updated to 5.1.1 already. According to this (pinch if salt at the ready)
http://www.androidean.com/2015/09/android-60-marshmallow-becomes.html?m=1
6.0 is coming soon and the Z3+ isn't listed again.
What's the word in the street?

Nopes. Z5 Premium ONLY RENDERS 4K WHEN NECCESSARY. So if there is no 4K Movie or Game, Z5 Premium will work as FULLHD. Think about it. If it always shows up 4K, how long would the battery last. I assume only 5 hours
Also check these guys, it says z3+ (z4) will get the updates.

The normal Z5 has a 1080p screen. The bulk of the word for firmware relies on the SoC.
Having different screen resolutions is VERY VERY tiny work for creating new firmwares, with them both having essentially the same hardware, whatever they make for the Z5 they should be able to do for the Z3+ with very minor adjustments.
This list is or fake or incomplete because I am confidence that Z3+, Z3+ dual, Z4 and whole Z5 series will get Android 6.
Android 6.0 will be able to install very soon
It does appear that Z3+ has been forgotten for the moment. Last update to the AOSP downloads was 2015-08-19. Still no functioning baseband, which renders it useless....Also, no open (recovery) bootloader and no 5.1.1.
Indeed YES

Yes.
I do feel the same, although Sony has confirmed that the Z3+ will be getting Android 6.0. In fact, it would be very idiotic of Sony not to update it with Marshmellow. But at the moment it is very weird that it isn't at least at 5.1.1.

I think they reason that it would be pointless to work on a 5.1.1 update and 6.0 at the same time and then there would only have been like a month or so inbetween them. In all honesty I feel it's probably better they focus on 6.0 and making that version that most people will use for the longest very good.
You're right, Masssy. I guess that makes more sense.

Bye! Bye! Xperia SP.

This thread is just to put the views of people who have stopped using Xperia SP and bought a new phone. Present your experience about the SP below.
Xperia sp just never old ever because of amazing devs We taste Marshmallow and very soon we tast nougat
Sent from my Xperia SP using Tapatalk
Current phone: LG G4
I have bought Xperia SP somewhere around may 2013 and used it till april 2016. So I have used this device for around 3 yrs.
During the year 2013, X-SP was the most powerful midranger device(defeated Nexus 4 & even X-Z in benchmarks). The LED light strip was so awesome that I instantly felt in love with it. When it comes to display, it was an TFT display which neither excite me neither disappoint me. Camera was just an average.
On android 4.1 Jelly bean:
Xperia SP was initially released with Android 4.1. It was fast & fluid & never ever lagged. Being an ex-Samsung user I knew how really important it was. But this firmware had wifi problems(weak reception) which can be fixed. I was satisfied with my purchase.
On android 4.3 Jelly bean:
It was a lot more fluid than 4.1 & it also fixed the wifi issue. The firmware added 3rd party theme support(appart from 5 or 7 stock themes). It also added camera add-ons such as AR effects, Time shift burst, etc. Initially it felt an awesome upgrade but later on I realised the RAM management is really really poor with 4.3.
On android 5.1 & 6.0:
I never used Kitkat on X-SP so I will be skipping it. As such kitkat for X-SP was planned but Sony dropped it & ended the support. This was the time when I was really frustrated as how sony can end the support for us with the buggy 4.3. But since we are on xda, it doesnt really matter anymore.
Xperia SP was blessed with a new life thanks to @Adrian DC & @Mrcl1450 (and many more). Android 5.1 & 6.0 had really improved the user experience. I am absolutely satisfied and grateful to all X-SP developers.
Thank You!

HelloXperia SP!
Hello, Xperia SP!
My one have been left aside for 1 year, cause I excluded kind os a system element, so that I couldn't even recharge it. The matter was that, i couldn't recover it using Sony Companion, cause the USB was not in use!
Well, i earned a Samsung (meh) and of course, it wasn't so good as my beloved SP. During a frustrated experience on installing a stock room in this Galaxy, suddenly, I thought: Why wouldn't I try to charge the SP? And there it was, the red light!!! So I could Recover it and I'm using it againnnn 3 days from now. I know the resources of the phone are a little bit outdated, but who cares? Actually, me. I'm trying to learn how to go on Lollipop or Marshmallow. But that's it. After an year suffering with a Nokia and before I'd suffer with a Samsung, God answered the prayers xD
Actually, I'm in Brazil, so I'm a little disappointed within the downgrade of Sony's cost benefit around here. ): But I'm still a fan! It's a pitty that I assume that. Because there are no more strong reasons for defending Sony's flag, nowadays ):
