Huawei account creation for rooting phone - UK not in country list? - Huawei P10 Lite Questions & Answers

As the title says, I am unable to find the UK in the list of countries.
I am using the link supplied in the how-to for rooting the phone.
Any ideas?

Do you want to unlock your bootloader
emui.huawei.com/en/plugin/unlock/index

What will happen if i just unlock but never proceed with unlocking using ADB or flashing any custom twrp.
Once i input the unlock code is my warranty still valid?

Your warranty will hold you. Boot-loader unlock or root is not a problem in Europe under EU law.
My p10 lite was hard-brick and Dr. Mobile has done board-swap for free. The first six months must be a vendor to prove that the problem is yours.
First two months even no request for cost research.

[Q] Network unlocking my I9500 and knox

rodtakular said:
Hi guys, I wonder if I can get some help unlocking my I9500. I'm traveling to US next week and would be acquiring a t-mobile or at&t prepaid sim to use the the phone, so I need to unlock it.
First of all, I have verified that my phone is locked to accept sims only from my carrier.
Second, yes, I have tried the methods explained http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2282683 , but I always get:
MENU NOT EXIST
PRESS BACK KEY
Current Command is 111
If relevant, my s4 is using android 4.3(official from my carrier), the baseband is I9500BUEMK1, build number JSS15J.I9500UBUEMK1.
I don't want you any method that may void my warranty or alters the knox flag.
Are there others "not invasive" methods to network unlock my 9500?
If I have to get a network unlock code from some site in the internet, which ones do you recommend that are reliable? would using a unlock code alter my knox flag?
Thank you so much in advance.

Official Asus ZE551ML Bootloader Unlock *10/16: CAUTION ADVISED*

10/16/2015:
*CAUTION ADVISED*
Individuals have reported fastboot problems impacting their devices after attempting an official unlock. Review thread and proceed at your own risk.

Official unlock!
Just noticed this on the official Asus site under 'Utilities':
Unlock Device App: Unlock boot loader

2. Before you download, install, and use the Unlock Device App you acknowledge and assume complete risk to the quality and performance of this App, including but not limited to the following: once you activate the App you will not be able to recover your ASUS product (“Original Product”) back to original locked conditions; the Original Product with the activated App will not be deemed the Original Product; the Revised Product will no longer be covered under the warranty of the Original Product; the software of Revised Product will no longer be deemed the software of the Original Product and can no longer receive ASUS software updates; your purchased digital content may also be affected.
You also acknowledge ASUS does not guarantee service satisfaction to any Revised Product, including events involving paid service requested by you to be performed to the Revised Product.

It is strongly advised that you avoid activating this App unless you fully understand and accept the risks that may arise.https://www.asus.com/us/support/Down...Ulh0Ph49Hl/32/
Update: Date stamp on the APK of 7/23/2015 is interesting. Ran on my unlocked ZE551ML and after accepting the terms of use, it complained that my model was not supported.
Oh crap nice find... Now if I use this I cannot or can do ota updates?
Worked here perfectly fine! Thanks!! Make sure you are on a stock ROM when you try
this is a great step!! thank you!!!
i checked: there is also for ZE550ML !!!
It's announced now
Khanger posted the announcement on reddit about an hour ago in /r/zenfone2/
Took 7 months but it's finally here haha.
Is there a difference between the official unlock and the previously known method of unofficial unlock? Unlocked bootloader is the same either way, correct?
Reddit thread says you will not get OTA after using this file.

Would like to know this as well.
Sad it does only concern 551ml version.
A, Does this unlock automatically give root?
B, And lets say I use this BUT I remain with stock, will I still be barred from OTA?

A) why would it? Root access and unlocking bootloader are completely different things.
B) if you unlock via official method, your warranty is void and your phone is barred from receiving OTAs.
I understand it voids the warranty but what I don't understand is why no updates? If you take an OTA and it hoses your out of warranty phone its on you.
hope someone discover relock method

From the official unlock, there likely will never be a way to relock and get back OTA functionality. That being said, adb sideloading OTA files should still work. Reasoning as such:
* Unlocking your device using the official APK sends a notification to ASUS that your device is now unlocked, out of warranty, and will not have OTAs pushed to it.
* Whether or not you can manually grab OTAs using the system app has yet to be seen, as we haven't received a new update since the official bootloader unlock method has been released. Personally, I believe our SSIDs will be blocked from getting anything from the OTA server based on the verbage in the disclaimer.
* adb sideloading a ZIP file should have no reliance on the bootloader status. As long as you're flashing the right file, it should work because adb sideload has no internet functionality so it can't call home to check on your ability to flash things. It would be a very poor decision to actively bar users who do the unlock from using official firmware updates on their own terms.
Anyways, I'm adventurous so I've taken the plunge of my own accord. I don't plan to put TWRP on or flash CM12.1 until the majority of the CM bugs have been resolved. When the next OTA comes out, I'll post my experience in obtaining and flashing it so that others can know if they want to unlock the bootloader officially as well.
I will comment specifically that Motorola bootloader unlocks did not bar their users from getting official OTAs after the fact. It is an assumed risk to unlock the bootloader and it's a bit salty to basically say "well, you did this, you don't deserve to automatically get what we're baking for you now". The fact that we got an official unlock at all is scores above what most other manufacturers have done, though. Hopefully, ASUS backs off of the no-OTA thing at some point as it is a bit unnecessary. At worst case, I'm trusting us all here at XDA to work your magic if we end up in a corner somehow.
my question is: if their unlocking method brick my phone???? warranty is expired and they don't take him ???
this method is a weird thing.

Attempting to unlock your phone is the same this as actually unlocking your phone: you're taking it's life in your hands. If you brick it trying to unlock it, it's not covered. If something happens to it after it's been unlocked, it's not covered. This does not necessarily mean that they won't repair it, it means that:
a) any repairs cost money out of pocket and
b) they have the right to say a device is unrepairable and send it back to you with no obligation to fix it or compensate you in any way.
Them's the breaks for being a tinkerer!

Auto root i9506 locked bootloader

Hey guys, I have had limited experience with rooting. I have been looking for a way to root my i9506 without flashing it. I came across chain fires auto root. The only problem with this is that it says it can brick devices that are have a locked bootloader . I've tried to do some research on that but have yet to find a way that tells me if my i9506 is locked. Is anyone able to provide some extra info on how I check it?

It's not locked. Just go ahead and flash it.
OK thanks for the info, but how do you tell?
The only way to tell would be when you attempted to replace the bootloader, as the device would throw up a warning about tampering. However, unless you live in the United States and have a device from AT&T or Verizon, you have nothing to worry about. It's only the United States that has to worry about locked bootloaders and anti-competitive practices from the carriers who lock them.

Any way to get bootloader unlocked than Huawei site? + Will it work?

So I can't access Hauwei site, there is always some errors

, and when i wrote to them 3 days ago still didn't get any answer. So I was just thinking is there any other way to unlock bootloader?
I was thinking about using something like kingoroot to get root access, then getting some kind of custom recovery, then getting normal root and getting rid of kingo, but have no idea will it work and how to get it to work. Any ideas? Or should i just stay with unrooted p8....
well that site did not work me for me too...
i used this link:

Hi, be careful with Kingroot; I used it on my Huawei P8 lite and it bricked my phone (could not update any app and not go back to factory settings). Also the Huawei website was hopeless for me. But I got the unlock code by PHONING the general Huawei helpdesk. I used a Dutch phonenumber (free calling, no cost) because I live in NL, but you should look for such a number in your country. The man was very helpful, asked for my SN, IMEI and product ID and one day later he phoned bak with the unlock code
Hotline support, view our global hotlines. Google on these sentences on the Huawei general pages. I wish you succes. Jos

Yes, many users have reported that rooting through Kingroot bricked their device, but it worked like a charm for me... Anyways, if you want to do via kingroot way, please understand every risk...

Some advice on "upgrading" my ALE-L02

Hi guys,
I'm a little noob with geek stuff but still I like to do it by myself.
Story: I went abroad for a six months trip and I bought a P8 lite in Japan (Soft bank carrier). The model is a ALE-L02-C111B210 (single sim) and from my search on the forum, I understand that it is the same as L21 except LTE frequencies may not work. I have different ideas but I'd like to check before doing anything stupid (which I am )
The phone has a lot of japanese crappy apps that I cannot uninstall and no updates are provided by this carrier. That why I want to root it and debrand it.
1- When I put my european simcard, it ask me for a network unlock code. I cannot get it from the carrier because my account was closed and they don't want to hear anything. I then found website who can give me a "generic" unlock code for this device against 10€. Before paying for a code, I'd like to know if rooting the phone and puting a custom/unbrand rom, it will also unlock the network or not. I compare to my old iphone who can be unlocked once rooted
2- I read a LOT of threds about L21 and several people with the L02 used the video for RootJunky who give all required files included a firmware file but an old one I think (V100R001C636B120).
Can replace it with one I got from huawei website but following the same procedure ? for instance : HUAWEI P8 Lite Firmware(ALE-L21, Andriod 6.0, EMUI 4.0, C432B565, Austria, Single SIM, Channel-Others)
3- dumb question. what's the stock rom for ? because it is only 34Mb on the RootJunky repository
Thanks a lot for any help/answer

1) Which website? Are you sure it is safe? Don't give credit card information on such sites without confirmation. Iphone rooted?Iphone can be unlock and jail break but remember root is different from jailbreaking.
2) You may flash other country firmware. It's no big deal. But you may need to unlock bootloader.
3) stock rom is the default rom that phone comes with. Its size is usually above 1GB. 34MB can't be stock rom.
