Downgrading Samsung Galaxy J5 (Marshmallow to Lollipop) - Samsung Galaxy J5 Questions & Answers

Ok guys, This has not been just a problem of mine but also every Galaxy J5 users. The marshmallow update has quite a good UI and other stuffs. But in long term use I found this really annoying. And I want to downgrade the firmware. So I downloaded the latest firmware from sammobile.com . Now using odin when I try downgrading, I get the problem
sw rev check fail :[aboot]fused 2>binary 1
The model is:J500H(2015)
Is the downgrade really impossible? I even tried using TWRP but it isn't working either. I eagerly wanna go to lollipop while marshmallow is getting frustating day and again. So guys if you have any solution regarding this please suggest me..

Unfortunately, there isn't any way to downgrade as far as I know. It only happened for J500H and there is a warning thread, but not all people are aware of that...

Is it still the case? I tried flashing it recently and it just showed my green static and soft bricked my device.

Go here, find the proper OS and country for your device >> http://samsung-firmware.org/model/SM-G530H/page/1
Many pages, 11+..then use Odin..I personally havent reverted to KK from LP..but I have reverted to an earlier version of 5.1.1..because I'm new to Samsung..and my Grand Prime, from box with 5.1.1
Dont know if you can revert to 4.4.4
The reason being, is a possible bootloader version change..in my past experiance with Moto devices, once the bootloader version changes, reverting cannot be done..
Research this..which may be your flash failure cause..or maybe a bad download or incorrect OS for your device..the country code MUST match..

Thanks for your response, but still it didn't work. I did as you suggested; I downloaded
the correct firmware for my device, flashed it via Odin but failed. On device it shows "SW REV CHECK FAIL : (aboot) Fused 2 Binary 1" error
I recently updated to lollipop 5.0.2 via Odin, my phone model SM-G530H baseband G530HXXU2BOH5.
I think the reason I can't downgrade to Kitkat 4.4.4 is because of bootloader update.
I want to downgrade to Kitkat because most of the apps which used to work on Kitkat don't work on lollipop anymore, and also its very slow.
if anyone out there could help downgrade to Kitkat, plz do it. I would greatly appreciate it.
I'm sorry it didnt work for you..
Make sure you are flashing the correct OS for your device..I cant say for sure, new to Samsung..but probably a bootloader update issue..Maybe research which bootloader version with KK and LP..I think you may find your revert issue..I hope I'm wrong..please someone correct me if I'm wrong..

since no one can tell me how to downgrade to Kitkat, it feels like I 'm stuck on lollipop forever. I 'm desperate to go back to Kitkat ; kindly let me know if you come up with something.

Go down this list..do you see 4.4.4 anywhere.?
You are asking for something that doesnt exist..and also..bootloader will PROBABLY be an issue..Dont think you realize what you are asking for..
If you MUST have 4.4.4 then sale your device and purchase a device on 4.4.4..SOLUTION..
Note Edge bootloop: phone screen goes black after Samsung logo, what are my options?
i have a galaxy note edge, but couple of days back when i unpluged my phone from the charger and tried to turn it on it would not boot up properly;even if it did it would turn itself off at different times. so i had decided to flash stock rom, thinking this could solve the problem. i downloaded stock rom from sammobile, flash it via odin, and it was successful;but when the phone rebooted with rebooting recovery on the top left of the screen then the screen went black. to turn the the device on again i have to pull the battery out and put back in after 10-15 seconds. and now whenever i try to turn the device on, it boots up with 'rebooting to recovery' on the top left of the screen but goes black as soon as the samsung logo shows up. i don't know what's causing this problem.
if anyone out there could help me get out of this problem,i would greatly appreciate it
thanks in advanced
Wanted to ask if it is safe to flash build number LMY48B.G531HXXU0AOK2 with build date of Nov 2015 over the build LMY48B.G531HXXU0APC2 with build date in March 2016.
Tl;dr is it safe to flash an older lollipop build over a new one using odin

I don't really see a reason as to why someone would want to downgrade back to 5.1.1 as 6.0.1 is amazing. Thanks for the tutorial anyways.
Btw the google drive link doesn't work.

My model is J500FN, how can i flash cm12.1?
go to YouTube and search for :'' SOLVED!! Odin fail at hidden.img - Samsung Galaxy - 2016 '' it will show you everything that you need . I had the same problem and it worked for me

galaxy j500h 5.1.1 downgrade problem

okay so i have this lil problem on my galaxy j5
a few months ago ive found this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j5/how-to/tutorial-upgrade-j5-2015-to-6-0-t3443904 so i tried to upgrade my phone to android 6.0.1(firmware: http://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?record=D2F21816700B11E69B2DFA163EE8F90B) and it works perfectly fine tho
but im trying to downgrade to 5.1.1 coz i cant install any custom mods and kernels so i tried to flash a android 5.1.1 firmware(http://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?record=F33B6BD4400411E6815B0CC47A44B7B2) which it gave me bootloops
i tried to re-flash it to android 6.0.1 firmware i recently downloaded. it works and it starts up ok but it says that the system is not running and it should be factory reset--something like that. so ive factory reset my phone and again..it gave me bootloops
fortunately ive recently did some twrp backup and good thing it worked fine. but the problem is that the recovery didnt backup my phone password(which im stucked rn bcoz i cant type my main phone password)
im preety stuck here and if i factory reset again it still gives me bootloops
pls bear with me if you dont really understand my problem(im not that fluent in english)

I dont own that device, but i thing this would work:
Flash latest 6.0 firmware with samsung smart swich (PC), enable oem unlock in settings, flash twrp for 6.0 with latest odin, do a factory reset and a full wipe (except external sd an android secure). Then download latest 5.1 firmware for your device an flash it with odin (it will take some time).

You are stuck on Marshmallow
Hai bro,,,
u try this one after flashing offical firmware simply reboot your device into recovery mode by pressing Power + Home + Volume UP and do a wipe data/factory reset, and wipe cache partitions then reboot your device, it will start properly and all problems are now solved,,,,,

With the J500H, Samsung decided to lock the bootloader, meaning you can't downgrade. J500h seems to be the only locked device. Unless someone finds a way to unlock the bootloader then you are stuck on 6.0.1.

Firmware downgrade Samsung J500H from MarshMallow with the second loader to LP.
Those who are faced with the inability to roll back to version 5.1.1 are uncomfortable with using their phone.
We need to either use the Philippine firmware or install a custom firmware Belousova.
I found an acceptable way to flash my phone with a stock firmware.
For rollback, we need a four-file stock firmware J500HXXU1APA5 or J500HXXS1APE1.
File BL with the second loader BL_J500HXXU1APA5_CL958143_QB8363487_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar or BL_J500HXXS1APE1_CL1011281_QB9453563_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar .
Odin.exe.
Please note: these files for the regions: CAC, CAU, SEK, SER, SKZ.
In other regions, wi-fi or a radio module may not work.
For other regions, you need another file for a specific firmware.
If you need another region, write me the name of your firmware.
The process of the firmware I will not describe, it is well known.
You can see video here.

I found how I can help for you.
You may download firmware from here :"goo.gl/Yk1Byz" and unzip and flash in odin this firmware.
Then if some hardware not working you may download firmware for your region from here:"goo.gl/SdcwhA"
and unzip repeat the flash with odin but with one file firmware.
And If you don't update your telephon to MM you can flash telephon using only this stock firmware. Save it. First file you can delete.
I am sorry - in first step you may set BL for APE1 file from my blog . It have second bootloader for firmware.
