[PSA] [Locked BL] You can enable Fingerprint Scanner on the US X Performance - Sony Xperia X Performance Guides, News, & Discussi

I just received an Xperia X Performance bought from B&H Photo. I knew beforehand that the fingerprint sensor is disabled on the US version of the phone because of reasons, but I read on the Z5 forums that it can be enabled by flashing a firmware from another region.
So... I went on and tried with the Customized NL firmware and voila. It just works. I used FlashTool and XperiFirm to get the firmware. Easy peasy, it's not even necessary to unlock the bootloader.

You just discovered America!

VZW bootloader unlock

I contacted the sony dev network to get a bootloader unlock for the VZW Z2 Tablet (SGP561).
I have not been able to unlock it yet, I have my unlock key and tried the official and the flashboot methods to no avail. Can someone guide me in the right direction for the unofficial method?
I tried the search mentioned but keep getting the same two results, official and flashboot.
Here is the response from dev world support:
Thanks for your email. Xperia Z2 Tablet is confirmed as a supported device for Unlock bootloader. Unfortunately, if you receive the message on the device that it is not allowed, this is due to operator restrictions. In this case, the operator Verizon, has not allowed for unlocking the bootloader on this device. There is no official Sony solution to unlock the bootloader for the Verizon Xperia Z2 Tablet, but there are other ways to get around this. Just do a search for “unlock bootloader Verizon tablet Z2” for alternate options, and please note that unlocking the bootloader may void your warranty.
Best regards,

Japanese ROM to US or UK ROM?

I purchased a Xperia X Compact SO-02J off of Craigslist for use on T-Mobile in the US. It mostly works, except it won't connect to my LTE CellSpot (the one that connects to your home network). I was wondering if anyone had successfully flashed the US or UK rom on to a Japanese NTT Docomo version of the phone. I searched but didn't find anything. Thanks in advance.
I'm afraid there's no one way for moded a Xperia SO-02J
The bootloader is totally locked, and it won't allowed us for unlock the bootloader. That's a dead-end.

XZP Cross firmware flash G8142 to G8141

Hi all,
Thought I'd share my little experience with my XZP. Recently purchased a XZP Dual Sim G8142 that had a generic asian region firmware.
Being that I live in Australia, I wanted VoLTE and Wifi calling enabled. Soo I set out to learn as much as I could to see if there was any possibility in flashing a G8142 into a G8141 AU Firmware. To my surprise, there wasn't much info.
Soo I decided to take a leap of faith anyways. Using Xperifirm I got the Custom AU Firmware for the G8141 and using Newflasher I can report back that I have successfully Converted my G8142 (Dual Sim) to a G8141 (Single Sim).
I have been testing all sensors which are operating as per normal. I now have VoLTE and WiFi calling enabled. I haven't any bugs or glitches yet, besides Xperia Companion not being able to do a Software repair, as it still comes up with an error of: "UEGetPhoneInfoMissingInfo G8142 3570 1308-6997 R3B"
I didn't flash any of the .ta files that came with the AU Firmware cause I didn't wanna loose any DRM keys.
But just for others to know, It works.

Hello, my phone is single SiM G8141 Europe. The Rom China M-Rom works perfectly on my phone, but it is annoying that sim1 appears in all sections.
Could you please, share the way you activate VolTE?
Thanks in advance.

Sorry for the late reply.
I follow the guide of using Newflasher on the forms and used xperifirm to download my countries firmware, in my case, AU generic as I'm from Australia.
Dude it in few steps and the phones been working per normal since. I have VolTE and wifi calling enabled by default in the firmware.
best of luck!

Z5 E6683 VoWiFI/Flashing Questions

Hi all,
I'm trying to get my wife's E6683 phone to work with WiFi calling on EE in the UK. The phone was bought third-party and has generic (non-EE) firmware on it.
I *think* i need to download and flash the EE firmware onto the phone for this to work, since there are no options for WiFi calling present on the current (vanilla) firmware.
So I have the following questions:
1. Do I need to flash EE firmware onto it, or is there another way?
2. Can I flash the EE firmware onto it *without* wiping the phone?
3. The only UK EE firmware available is for the single-sim E6653 variant. Various posts suggest this is ok to flash single-sim firmware onto the Dual SIM equivalent, but can anyone confirm? (I don't care if the Dual SIM aspect of the phone stops working)
4. Is it a risky process? I'm semi-familiar with ADB and I've flashed phones before, but I'm no expert. I found a guide on hardreset.info, but are there any better or more specific ones?
Many thanks for any help!
Loz

Xperia X Compact fingerprint doesn't work

Hello guys, yesterday I bought xperia x compact so-02j (docomo) with ubl no, even though the seller told me ubl yes, actually it was important but not a problem now, the problem is that after I checked there was no fingerprint settings menu so fingerprint does not work, I see the same problem on youtube but the usa / global version while i am japanese version .. Can anyone help me? Pliss
Samebody help me pliss, I flash into a global stock ROM but nothing happens
I thought that if you had the Japanese version of the phone you could not flash a non-Japanese firmware (which is designed for different hardware). Don't use the F5321 firmware on an so-02J phone. You need to use the so-02J firmware. The fingerprint sensor should then be available.

yes I have tried to flash it to another country rom and it really can't, so can my fingerprint sensor be repaired?
The so-02J firmware has the fingerprint sensor activated, so if you don't see the option to add your fingerprint, something must be wrong, and I'm sorry, I don't have any more advice.
