Japanese ROM to US or UK ROM? - Sony Xperia X Compact Questions & Answers

I purchased a Xperia X Compact SO-02J off of Craigslist for use on T-Mobile in the US. It mostly works, except it won't connect to my LTE CellSpot (the one that connects to your home network). I was wondering if anyone had successfully flashed the US or UK rom on to a Japanese NTT Docomo version of the phone. I searched but didn't find anything. Thanks in advance.

I'm afraid there's no one way for moded a Xperia SO-02J
The bootloader is totally locked, and it won't allowed us for unlock the bootloader. That's a dead-end.

Germany: Vodafone Z3 - Bootloader UNLOCKED

For your information: Just received a Z3 by Vodafone Germany.
Service menu - Service info - Configuration shows: Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes
Edit: Yes, of course you're right - title is a bit off; must be "unlockable" ! - Practical thinking usually sets in after 9 am.
Maybe a mod can change the title?
is not unlocked. unlockable
All Sony mobiles have an unlockable bootloader via a code from the Sony website (albeit providing acknowledgement of invalidation of warranty), or external program.

Which devices are missing, save for the Z3, which will presumably be added imminently?

Many carrier sold Xperias, for example the T-Mobile exclusive Z1s have a bootloader that cannot be unlocked.

There are also versions of the Z2 that cannot have their bootloaders unlocked.

That's true of almost any phone. Carriers are a law unto themselves, but any Sony phone with stock firmware can easily have its bootloader unlocked.

I think we're doing to have to agree to disagree. Not all Sony phones can be bootloader unlocked, even the models listed in the bootloader unlocking tool.

Any Sony phone with stock firmware bought SIM-free. SIM-locked Sony phones often have not-unlockable bootloaders (no matter if you flash stock firmware or SIM-unlock them).
Xperoia Z3 Compact also unlockable
Xperia Z3 Compact Vodafone Germany also
Bootloader unlock allowed - YES
So it is possible to unlock this device.

Nope its different. sim unlock code need to be grabbed from carrier or bought from a service, but bootloader unlock code can be easily obtained
@TakuyaZ, as far as I know, all Japan phones which is sim-locked to the operator have a unlockable bootloaders (Bootloader unlock allowed: No). And even on the Sony site we could not select Japan models to get an bootloader unlocking code.
I've cheated Sony site, select Xperia Z1 Compact and provide IMEI of my Xperia A2 and get an unlocking code.
But, if I've understood correctly, we can not use it, because fastboot mode is deactivated (blocked) in bootloader.

Xperia X Compact fingerprint doesn't work

Hello guys, yesterday I bought xperia x compact so-02j (docomo) with ubl no, even though the seller told me ubl yes, actually it was important but not a problem now, the problem is that after I checked there was no fingerprint settings menu so fingerprint does not work, I see the same problem on youtube but the usa / global version while i am japanese version .. Can anyone help me? Pliss
Samebody help me pliss, I flash into a global stock ROM but nothing happens
I thought that if you had the Japanese version of the phone you could not flash a non-Japanese firmware (which is designed for different hardware). Don't use the F5321 firmware on an so-02J phone. You need to use the so-02J firmware. The fingerprint sensor should then be available.

yes I have tried to flash it to another country rom and it really can't, so can my fingerprint sensor be repaired?
The so-02J firmware has the fingerprint sensor activated, so if you don't see the option to add your fingerprint, something must be wrong, and I'm sorry, I don't have any more advice.
