USSD codes? - Lenovo Yoga Book Questions & Answers

Hi to all!
I bought my Yoga Book YB1-X90L (Android with LTE) today and put my SIM card in it. Data connection works good, but I'm not able to send USSD codes, needed to check my balance or activate some options.
Any idea how to acheive sending USSD codes?

hey, probably it's not possible, because we don't have a dialer / telephone function.
maybe check the playstore or any other source for an app to do that!

I tried with several dialers from Play store, but without success. Some of them even "freeze" my touchscreen so my Yoga Book becomes unresponsive to any touch (until I reboot the device).

did you use a voice/data sim or simply a data sim? when I was buying an iPad for my wife, I was told that the iPad had to use a data only sim. I have an extra voice/data sim that I want to use on a cellular tablet and is keeping an eye out for one that will allow voice/data sim.

I have voice/data SIM. USSD codes worked normally on my previous tablet (Lenovo Tab 2 A8-50)

great! I'll have to keep an eye out for the LTE version on swappa now.

kind of a dual sim question

I have a new job, and with that comes a new phone (KPN), but: no data traffic! (company policy)
I do own a private number (Tmob) which I can update to a data-plan. And to make use of them, I could use a sim-switch, but then I have to switch each time I want to use internet or make a call. But I don't wanna switch! I want 1 sim for voice and 1 for data at the same time, is this impossible??!
probably
But then: as an alternative I could ask KPN for an data only contract as an addon to the contract of my work sim which will be billed by myself. Does anyone have some experience with this? (calling KPN is not possible during the weekend, and I'm very curios)
thanks!
dual sim
Hello,
I tried a dual sim solution in my trinity, but without success. I bought the latest generation because the older ones can't deal with digital sim's capable of umts. This was a 16th generation dual sim. It worked fine in a verry old nokia but not in my trinity. Tried it in WM5 and WM6 but keeps reporting a sim error.

[Q] Unlocking Galaxy Note 3 (AT&T SM-N900A)

I just purchased a Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N900A), full-price, off-contract, from AT&T Wireless. I used an existing GoPhone (prepaid) account/phone number to activate the phone. The phone works (voice calls) with the AT&T SIM. However, I want to use the phone/device on aioWireless. I have a microSIM for aio. I have purchased an unlock code and followed the unlock instructions. I received a "Successful unlock" message after entering the 8 digit network code. However, I cannot make phone calls (or use the data plan) when the aioWireless SIM is installed. When dialing a number with the aio SIM, I get a recorded message that the service has been deactivated, and to contact AT&T.
When I try to verify whether the phone has truly been unlocked by typing *#SIMLOCK# nothing happens. If I then push the CALL button, I then get the message: Connection problem or invalid MMI code.
Any clues what is going on?

The *#SIMLOCK# code does not work on newer phones so have to find another sim that you verified and works ok in another similar phone.Maybe aioWireless is not activated, does it work ok on other phones? Would recommend a tmobile sim ,because with that if the phone is unlocked then should connect to the network

Quick Question regarding MMS

Hey S4ers,
So I recently gave my friend my S4 (i337) restored to NB1. She does not have an active data plan, but I figured since I'm giving her the phone, it wouldn't matter too much.
She used to have an unlocked T-Mobile Phone working on AT&T, just running it on the EDGE network.
Anyway long story short, she cannot receive MMS anymore after using this phone. The phone has signal, but does not display E, 2G, 3G, 4G, or LTE. Just the signal bars. So I ordered an unlock code and received it, thinking that if I unlock the SIM that she could get this functionality. I tried the #0111*CODE# method in the dialer and receive an incorrect MMI message. Are there any other methods to unlocking the phone with the code that I have? No root would be ideal, because she has everything all set up on it, but I am open to any suggestions, really. I was wondering if I am going down the correct path in enabling MMS, by unlocking the phone like her old one used to be, or if AT&T needs to be contacted.
FYI, when we set up the phone, we called AT&T to register the new SIM, and provided the IMEI number, is it possible that they turned off any functionality because it was a smart phone without a data plan?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

What carrier SIM is being used in it? Also check your APN settings.
She is on AT&T and the APN is good. We had to get a new micro sim

Can this phone do VOICE & DATA Simultaneously?

Can this phone run on Sprint network and do VOICE & DATA Simultaneously? like a Note 3 with dual antenna?
From what I understand, it's a carrier function, I have full voice/data on AT&T.
No idea on sprint
I think it offers this support on the dual sim variant, provided you use one sim for data and another for voice.
No..one carrier(One SIM) can't give call and data functions same time. But you can use wifi. Dual SIM ..yes if you're calling from one SIM and using data in another(but it depends on Device too)
I used both the call function data together,as while playing clash of clans. It worked.

As I said, on AT&T with a xt1644 (single SIMM) it DOES do voice/data however, I still think its a function of the carrier?!
Not necessarily a two simm version.

S7 Edge dual SIM control

Hi Guys !
I have a Samsung S7 edge duos, for which i want to use two SIM cards - SIM 1 is my home SIM, and SIM 2 is a Global roaming SIM with data and Voice.
My question is whether its possible to set my phone in such a way that when I go on roaming i want my SIM 1 to deactivate data services and SIM 2 data services to kick in, since this a global SIM.
Is there an App for that or is there some kind of settings for the same.
Help in this regard would be highly appreciated.
Thanks
John
Not sure if you can do this, maybe with a task scheduler? Best choice is just to manually set your SIM2 to be the main SIM.
The only thing that might work is to call transfer sim 1 to sim two so that any calls received will ring on sim 2 which you can select as the active.
You can not cross connect the apns since they are linked to different sim cards.
Did you try all the dual sim manager apps? they say they do just that!!!
