ZMAX Pro stuck on bootloop - ZTE Zmax Pro Questions & Answers

So I dropped my phone in the toilet on Friday night. Bad, I know but it was clean unused water and only half of the phone went under and for less that a second, so I pull it out, turn it off, wiped it thoroughly with a clean cloth and try the old rice trick. When I tried to boot it back up, it was out of battery so, I plugged it in and it worked for a little bit but then turned itself off. Tried to go into recovery (not custom) and it scrolled itself down to reboot and kept repeating itself. I let the battery drain, put it in rice again and left it so overnight. Tried to boot it up and the same problem occurred. I was busy yesterday so I just popped the SIM into my mom's phone and took off so that I could deal with it later. I took it to T-mobile this morning and they're asking for $180 to fix it. I was wondering if there was something I could do myself to fix it.

Won't turn on! :(

So last night at kickball, I sent a text to my wife. The next game, I wanted to see if she texted back, and my phone was off. I didn't remember the battery being low, but thought that perhaps it might have been. When I got home I plugged it in and got nothing. I tried to do the Power/Camera/Reset to see if it would go into bootloader; again nothing. I left the battery out all night, put it back in this morning, still nothing. I've tried usb charging and wall charging as well, with and without the battery. Nothing turns it on... is it done for?
Same thing happened to mine recently. I know the battery was low, and it turned off because of that. Never got it to turn on again.
The only sign of life mine shows is that the red led will turn on if you have it plugged into a charge with the battery out. Other than that, it's a paperweight.
Never got mine working again.
I took mine apart, and somehow got it to turn on again... it was a messy process.. something must be shorted out. Going to have to get something new soon.
i have just the same issue with moto milestone ... i am sure that the battery is fully charged, cause ive charged it with another milestone ... but that one simply won't turn on ... tried different combinations of sd/simcard/battery on and off .. still the same ... Any help would be highly appreciated.
same issue here, mine just stopped working yesterday, battery was fine, i did a soft reset randomly, and then it wouldn't turn back on. Both the talk and end lights are on, that's it..
Mine does the same thing since it was dropped in water. It had'nt been turned on for 2 years since I decided it would work! It still does the red light thing sometimes, but all I got to do is remove battery, try power button and repeat the process until it works. Try it out!

Anybody else had this?

Pushed the power button this morning and no response, thought the battery had run right down, so plugged it in and it booted to the dell screen then froze, removed battery and replaced it, booted no problems at all, still 60% battery left
Once, I think it's because the device has flexed or got jolted at some point and the backplate contacts have come apart briefly. The only way to get it to switch on was to remove the battery and refit it.
I've had this too, but not after a jolt or flex - noticed it after waking up on a morning - Streak had been on bedside table with good charge.
I've had this maybe twice since having the device.
edit to add:
The only difference is my device did not freeze on boot.
yep - every time i power it down and leave it for a bit, it will only fire up again if I take the back off, pop the battery out and put it back in.
The LEDs come on, but it goes no further unless I do the above. Annoying but I can live with it for now (not sure what the wear and tear issues could be over the life of the device tho?)
did it on 1.6, still does it on O2 2.1
That's what's i was thinking, that stupid backplate! it may have moved 1mm and caused error
I posted a comment once about supergluing the fu%$er, might try myself.
Yep, sadly had the same problem. The worse thing is it did this the first time I turned it on. Done the same thing again this morning after simply switching it off.
Hopefully it won't be annoying or we will learn how to avoid it - backplate seems to cause the problem but I didn't even drop it or mishandle it in anyway - just merely switched it off and on again...
If the backplate is the problem, I can see it becoming a real issue, mine is definitely a looser fit than it was a month ago.
This just happened to me this morning. I went to bed around 2am with 90% charge and woke up 8am off on totally drained. The phone was lying on the carpeted floor with no movement. Powered back up and on with icons all messed up.
had this couple of times day, not the first by a long shot. its the back plate for sure. it flexes just a tiny bit and thats enough to make it shut down. pretty shoddy design
I really don't see how it could be the cover. Second day in a row I went from full charge to dead when I woke. It was on the floor the whole time and never touched. Then I charged it and the screen would not respond. So I hit power and then it would not come on again until I pulled the battery. Now, I'm just going to try powering down every night. If it's dead I just leave it at home for the day.....such a waste.

Drunk G1 turns itself off

Hi fellas, long time no see!
So, first of all, yes, I've used the search, but what I've found is threads about wet phones, mine I believe is already dry.
Situation: I'm in the club, glass of absolut and redbull in my hand, phone in my jeans pocket, extra glass of absolut w/redbull on the bar next to me. Fat drunk aproaches the bar and tips my glass with his elbow, all my drink spilled over my clothes. After a brief discussion I realized the guy was too drunk and was a worthless douche so I let it go. I reach for my phone and realize my pocket is soaked wet, when I take it out, phone is out, red light dim. So I turn it off, take it apart and forget about it til the next day. Next day, it began to turn on, but shut itslef off after a few secs, so I take it apart again (that is back cover, battery, SIM and sd, I dont have the screwdrivers to go further), cleaned what I could with alcohol, let it vent in front of a fan for a few hours, then in a bowl of rice for 2 days, no good.
So I got an extra phone and let it sit for more than a month. The other day I decided to give it another try and voila! it worked, had to be dry by now! used it for a day, left it charging, when I came back, it was off again, unresponsive. I have an extra battery, so I got one of those universal battery chargers, because I though the problem could be the phone not charging the battery. It was (even when the light turns on red and it says charging and all). So, first weird thing, light turns on red, screen says charging, but USB wont wont actually charge the battery if it is somewhere below.. 70% maybe, it does charge if it is lets say about 80% or above.
I used it like this for a week or so, and now, when I turn it on, after the bootscreen and the initial loop, the phone now powers itself off (with the text "turning off" -or whatever it says- and vibrating and all), even with the battery full. Tried with both batteries full, plugged in the usb (the light is green when full, and will even charge), erased battery stats (recovery works fine) but the damn thing wont load android properly!
Any ideas what might be causing this? it should be dry by now (its been like 2 months already and I let it vent and used the rice method), it doesnt smell funny (you know, like burnt, like when sth short circuits).
btw, also tried flashing the ROM again (i always have a couple in the sd just in case) and didn't work neither, does exactly the same.
i know it is a bit long to read but i wanted to give you the most insight i could. i know that it works! it did a couple days ago, but something got screwed with the startup and i dont know what it is!
update: so today i tried again, to my surprise, it showed me the first-use android intro, and i could use it, but wen i was about to finish setting it up, it shut off
time for a new phone!
You need a new Phone.
aaawww cmooon, heh, yeah, i know, but it aint easy to just "change the phone", i mean, i already have, but im using a crappy phone, and i wouldnt buy anything lower than the dream, but these things arent cheap here you know? you might get them for free sometimes with a contract, not around here we dont.
I think the problem is the no-charging issue, because i believe the phone not working now is due to bot batteries being damaged by the universal charger. the contacts are all scratched. i tried like to scratch them more to make them even, and it worked for about 2 minutes.. if i can rule that out and i can fix the chargin issue, all i need is a new battery, but i wont buy another one (i cant just go to a shop because they dont sell them here, i have to order them online and wait like a month for it to arrive) until i know it will work!
Just an update:
So I forgot about the issue once more and let it sit for.. well from the last post till last week (6 weeks give or take a week). After dusting it off, I took the less-damaged battery and tried my best to fix the contacts. Put it back on, plugged it, and after a while, I turned it on. To my surprise, it worked, and now it is charging again. I guess it hadn't fully dried, idk, but it works at least for now (and has been working for over a week now, I think that's better than last time) .

Home button not working after phone went for swim!

Hi all
My phone was fully submerged in water for a few mins a couple of days ago, I immediately took the battery out and left it to dry for the day.
Eventually the phone worked again, except for the home button.
The strange thing is, the home button works to get into recovery/download mode but will not work once booted up, anyone got any ideas?
I have not tried flashing or factory reset yet.
Cheers
Remove battery and cards. Leave the phone somewhere warm and dry for several days - preferable a week. One day may not be enough to dry out the phone completely (obviously it depends on just how wet it got).
You can try putting it in a bowl of rice. When mine got wet that's what I did and in 24 hours or a little more it was completely fine.
Swyped from a galaxy far far away.
Really, I know what am I talking about.
You need to go to the service. They will disassemble the phone and make a good cleaning.
Otherwise you may have problems.

[Q] Nexus 4 powers down straight after booting

Hello Everyone!
Let me start by saying last week i dropped my N4 in water, but managed to shut it off before anything was broken. I immediately put the phone in rice and left for 3 days. So on the third day i took the device out of the rice and attempted to turn it on, no luck. I ordered a new battery and managed to tear down the phone and clean off all of the corrosion with 99.9% Isopropanol alcohol. I installed the new battery and re-assembled the phone and everything was working great for two days. So the third day of the new battery, I left the phone on charge overnight before I went to school, and i was playing a game, my phone was on 80% battery still when a window popped up telling me the device was powering off. I thought this was a one off and attempted to turn my phone on again, however the second my device booted and got to the lock screen it powered down again. Any help? My theory is that the phone battery software is not in sync with the hardware. I.E when the phone is at 80% battery the phone thinks it is infact at 0. I got my phone to turn on the other day for a few minutes and it displayed it was at 0% charge, however when i tried to boot up the phone before that it said it had 50%? any help would be greatly appreciated! thankyou for your time!
