[Q] Nexus 4 powers down straight after booting - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello Everyone!
Let me start by saying last week i dropped my N4 in water, but managed to shut it off before anything was broken. I immediately put the phone in rice and left for 3 days. So on the third day i took the device out of the rice and attempted to turn it on, no luck. I ordered a new battery and managed to tear down the phone and clean off all of the corrosion with 99.9% Isopropanol alcohol. I installed the new battery and re-assembled the phone and everything was working great for two days. So the third day of the new battery, I left the phone on charge overnight before I went to school, and i was playing a game, my phone was on 80% battery still when a window popped up telling me the device was powering off. I thought this was a one off and attempted to turn my phone on again, however the second my device booted and got to the lock screen it powered down again. Any help? My theory is that the phone battery software is not in sync with the hardware. I.E when the phone is at 80% battery the phone thinks it is infact at 0. I got my phone to turn on the other day for a few minutes and it displayed it was at 0% charge, however when i tried to boot up the phone before that it said it had 50%? any help would be greatly appreciated! thankyou for your time!

8125 shuts off, reboots continuously & unsuccessfully. Is it the battery?

hello everyone
i am having a major problem with my 8125
over the last 6 months i have noticed a loss in the battery integrity and its run time is less.
about a week ago i spilled some water on my phone. i wiped it up, and used it as normal.
shortly after, it started crashing on me.
what will happen is i will be on a phone call, and the phone will just shut off.
i look at it and it is rebooting.
it will sometimes prompt for safe mode, get to Windows Mobile screen, and reboot again. safe mode does the same thing
i pull the battery, replace it, and plug the phone into the wall. i can get it to turn on now, and it charges, but the battery reads in at nearly dead. under 20%, when it was charging all night and was full a minute prior.
is this the battery gone bad?
I would often plug it in to my Motorola Bluetooth USB power chord, and i use a cigarette lighter to USB adapter in my car to charge it.
could either of these play into the demise? do i need a new battery? or a fresh install? or a new phone?
thanks guys!
happened again.
not a single Cingular store in San Diego has a replacement battery in stock.
anyone have a place they recommend?
Is the water damaged sticker pink? If not you might be in luck with XBM.
Not that the water is definately at fault, but in the future, never use an electronic device that is wet. It gets wet, pull the battery immediately and wait for it to dry.
as soon as it got wet i pulled that battery and put the unit in a dehydrator
wwhere is the water sticker?
Under the sim card...if you pull out the sim it should be white...If its not white then no luck on the exchange.

Screen flickered, battery died

Hello everyone,
I read about this problem elsewhere but it didn't help.
Today I was at 40% of battery, phone ringed, I rejected the call, after few minutes picked it up, unlocked, screen started flickering and it died.
It didn't want to turn on. Took the battery out then back in, still didn't power on.
Placed it on charger, it started to charge, showing totally empty. After few minutes it went to 20%.
Took it of the charger, took the battery out to inspect it after reading on internet, it looked fine. Put it back in, turned it on, I was BACK AT 40%!!
Phone is one month old, practically new phone, never dropped it, bent it, nothing.
first of all fully drain the battery to 0% and then change battery to 100% and calibrate it thought this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vitula.batterycalibration&hl=en if it is still showing the same problem then it is possible that the battery must be faulty.
Yes it sounds like a faulty battery but its a new phone so I rulled that out
I usually charge the battery only when its less than 10%, usually 3-5% and then top it up to 100%. I never partially charge it. I will try this app next time I drain it

[Q] G2 won't turn on(not bricked, I think)

I have an LG G2 ls980, cm-12-20150501-NIGHTLY-ls980, render kernel
I installed cm12 a long time ago and I realized that the battery was being drained really fast with cm's kernel. Then I installed render kernel. Everything was handy dandy. Less battery drain, all was good in the world. I put my phone down for a few seconds, look back, and see that my phone is completely off. I try powering it on, and nothing happens. It isn't bricked though, there isn't a dark(bull still powered) screen, there isn't an LED, there isn't a vibration when I plug in the charger for my phone.
I tried:
Waiting a while and then charging my phone for an hour(my phone got really hot after this)
Using multiple cables(none of them were data-enabled cables if that is important)
Attempted to put it into download mode(it won't even turn on, but I saw this suggestion everywhere)
Is my battery done for? Will it begin to expand if I charge it? Will this suggestion work(I'm holding off from this since the G2 battery is very tedious to put back in):
"Ok after hours of figuring out what to do I did this as a last resort and it worked. I removed the screws from the phone and pulled the battery clip from the board ; then I pressed the power button , held it down and with the other hand clipped the battery back in, once the battery vibrated I put the phone on the charger and it turned on showed the lg logo and then showed that the battery was at 0% but was charging. My phone was not rooted it was just sitting on my desk for a week till I got back from vacation. I hope this Helps"

Help! Phone doesn't turn on

So I've had my Moto X Pure (XT1575) for almost two years now, and it's been through hell and back with me. A few months ago, I replaced the screen because of the hot spots the screen had since I've bought it, at the same time, I replaced the battery, the frame and installed a wooden back cover. Yesterday, while I was using it, the phone died and started trying to boot itself back up. I thought it was a sudden turn off, like when you have 30% and it dies because the battery is old. So I let it in the charger for a few minutes just so I could turn it on; but it didn't, it turned on for a split second, showing the bootloader unlocked screen and dying instantly. Luckily I managed to boot it once, and what was weird is that the battery showed 50%+ charge and was charging normally. I went to sleep and let it charge overnight, now it flashes the white led as if the battery level was too low to turn on. I suspect it's a bad battery, but maybe it could be something else. Any help is appreciated.
UPDATE: I've tried to boot the phone again but it doesn't want to do it, it just flashes the bootloader unlocked screen then dies, it's like a bootloop but weirder. Tried to get to the fastboot menu and it lets me, it says "battery is low" in the battery status, which is weird, since it said "battery OK" yesterday.
NVM, I opened the phone and disconnected the battery and put it back on and the problems fixed itself

Note 4 SM-N910F suddenly won't charge nor boot? What to try next?

Hi!
The phone was working fine up till yesterday.
I left it charging, only to find it stuck with the red LED on. It would not respond to button presses, and the LED stayed on even after being unplugged.
I took the battery out, put it back in, didn't want to boot. I took the battery out again, left it out for a few minutes, it booted with an unfamiliar message "Could not do normal boot" or something along those lines. After a restart it booted normally.
I used the phone normally the whole day, but after leaving it charging, same thing happened, but resolved it with leaving the battery out for a few minutes.
Phone worked fine from there on.
Left it charging before bedtime, found it stuck again in the morning, but this time, no way to boot.
I changed batteries, left it without battery for quite some time, nothing.
The phone is rooted, running a custom ROM, flashed sometime last year. Had no problems until now.
What do you recommend?
Seems like it could be the eMMC error.
I was extremely unlucky and it died completely in just one day since the error manifested
If you have any suggestions on how to revive it, please share!
I tried cool it in the freezer, didn't help
Note 4 won't charge or boot - Fixed
Hello,
My note four recently started running sluggishly and the battery would only charge to 77%. I rebooted it and it was now stone dead, would not charge, boot , nada. This is the fix I found that worked for me:
Take out battery, sim card, and mem card. Install back cover. Place phone in ziplock sandwich bag and seal. Place bag into freezer for 20 minutes. Remove bag/phone from freezer, reassemble battery, sim and mem cards. Press the start key and phone should boot(mine did). If not, plug into Samsung fast charger and try booting again.
