From what I've seen in Unbox Therapy's video the camera app (and especially it's portrait mode) on the Galaxy Note 8 seems to be a lot better. Will there be a port like we saw with the Pixel camera? The note 8 had a model with the SD835 like the op5 and I guess other smartphones with the same type of dual camera setups could benefit from this as well. Will we ever see a port of the app and if not why?

I wouldn't hold my breath. TouchWiz is much further away from OOS than Google's version of android. Too many proprietary files on TouchWiz that we wouldn't have access to.
Doubtful, even if it's got the same chipset, it won't have the same cameras. OnePlus usually use Sony cameras (Apparently the main camera is the Sony IMX 398), Samsung will most likely use their own and the software will be designed to fit their own hardware.
Apparently the S7 has a Sony camera though, so....who knows.

Hi guys. I ordered yesterday X720 variant (4GB/32GB gold) from banggod under flash sale (cost me 192 USD) and I cannot wait it to be delivered to me..
So after that, I started some re-search, especially regarding the camera performance and I found out that Le Pro3 actually has ALMOST the same camera sensor like OnePlus 3T, apart from OIS?
OnePlus 3T has a 16MP Type 1/2.8" Sony IMX298 sensor with f/2.0 aperture lens which is the same (correct me if I am wrong) in Le Pro 3. But OnePlus 3T takes really good and better photos in any environment(good light or low light) if to be compared to LePro 3...
So, can we say that OIS and maybe better rom/software in OP3T makes the difference or what? Or LePro 3 has a potential to takes better photos with some custom ported roms or ported camera apps and come closer to quality of OP3T?
I am sorry, if this or a similar thing had already been talked before here. It will be great to hear your comments and opinions.

If custom ROM and especially nougat-based, there is a patched version of latest Google Camera with HDR+ enabled.
When it comes to mobile cameras, it's almost always the imaging processing that makes or breaks a photo quality.
OP3/T does share same hardware specs of the camera lens and sensors with the exception of OIS, but it is the software itself that determines how an image is to be processed.
Samsung, LG, HTC, Apple basically spends a lot of their R&D budget on the imaging software, because camera qualities are synonymous with quality of the phone.
OnePlus did spend fairly large amount of development into their camera software, and it is very good. OiS helps, of course, but image quality itself is determined via software.
When you're using Google Camera, the game changes, however. Since Google Camera does not use OiS even if you have it, it won't be an advantage with OP3/T. Theoretically, the image when using two identical camera app would be very very similar.

So far 2.7.01 is the only one that works on Stock ROM.

So... i have looked all over the internet to find what the difference is between these phones and all i can find is that they have the same camera setup at the rear.
But.. the pixel 3 takes marginally better pictures then the pixel 2.
How can it? Is it depending on the software? The camera app?
If it software then it should be able to get? ( Already seen some ports)
The question: whats the difference that we cant get or can get?
I'd say it's a mixture of both software, and an updated chip inside the 3.
I suspect it's software, more than anything else

The Camera Sensor itself received an upgrade - it's not the same as in the pixel 2.

It's the pixel visual core (PVC) chip. The Pixel 2/XL has this chip as well, however, they made improvements to the chip in the new Pixel 3/XL, along with really focusing on the software aspect of the phone. Sticking with a single rear camera is Google's way of giving other companies the bird saying "we can do better than you with only a single rear camera" IMO.
The headline specs are the same
12.2 MP, f/1.8, 28mm (wide), 1/2.55", 1.4µm, OIS, dual pixel
But it is apparently a different(newer) sensor. That combined with upgraded Pixel Visual Core chip for processing lead to slightly improved images
Still, no working modded apk for the new Google Camera 6.1? I was just curious why, the photo quality would be vastly better on the new version of the app, awaiting reply guys, TIA.

I just bought a samsung galaxy s7 edge model SM-G935T honestly I'm disappointed at the photo level. I was expecting a lot better especially on this model I have a sony imx 260 sensor, which is weird with the Chinese smartphone leeco pro 3 which a sensor sony imx 298 of lower quality. I can produce better shots on leeco X722 thanks to the Google camera. Is there a way to install the gcam on samsung so you can get the most out of it?

Search is your friend, there are working gcam ports for this phone, albeit it can't store pics to external storage without jumping through a couple of hoops.

Yes, I am aware that there are certainly some versions of gcam function for the Samsung SM-G935T especially that I am very connected in this area with leeco pro 3 which accepts almost all versions of this list thank you for having me answered.

It's good, I found version 6.1021 works best on the Samsung SM-G935T under oreo and bug least compared to others. Exactly it is the one I use with my leeco pro 3 but against the battery it is empty at a speed unbelievable. On leeco the application is better optimized, it consumes less battery. for the Exynos processor I do not think it's compatible with me running under a snapdragon 820 processor with the official Oreo Rom without root.

I explained in my previous comment to be able to install the second application without crash and that it is very rich in option, it must first install the first application is configure it by activating the hdr +

Do the photos of the pro version really justify the 100+$ of difference and the missing b20 band? Right now I have a redm note 3 Pro and it's perfect for my everyday needs, so a super SoC or a lot of ram would probably be wasted as I don't play at all with my phone. Any advice? Thanks!

I'm also curious. I watched hundereds of comparisons and from what i understood the sony sensor offers better dynamic range and sharpness. Depth of field (background blur) is same due to same sensor size.
By not a higher margin btw.
