Just so I'm sure here. I'm currently on 20a deodexed with NSS kernel. To flash this, I need to flash 20c complete first, then this, then the NSS kernel?

Yup

New kernel, read OP.

What dies the Asgard kernel have and is it better than the NSS one? Thanks.

Looks like NSS doesnt allow SafetyNet bypass and Asgard does? I am going to try Asgard.

An ultra lite version of this would be pretty cool.

Can we flash the kernels over the stock rom(rooted)?

Yea

I had issues with Bluetooth and the Asgard kernel (darkness governor). My connection would drop out every few minutes, only to be regained by turning Bluetooth off and back on. Switvhed back to NSS and the issue is gone. Thanks for the great work!

Not sure why, didn't touch anything related to Bluetooth. Bluetooth was fine the other day, had it on for over an hour, without any drops....Rebuilding the kernel from original source anyway.

Just curious if Safety Net (Android Pay, specifically) is working for others? I upgraded from 20A rooted via: 20C Complete, SuperSU, 20C DeOdexed, Asgard, Root Switch (tried with stop all daemons, too). For me, Android Pay fails the check. The only complication being I had Magisk installed the first time around. I'm wondering if it's worth backing up with Titanium and doing a factory reset to go thru the process again.

Asgard kernel update, read OP.

Which kernel and settings is everyone using? I'm looking for some recommendations.

Here's my battery (2nd charge cycle) with just stock deodexed and Asgard with elementalX.
Just web browsing, brightness ~50%, mobile data only. Battery left - 89%. Don't know the "best" settings yet, hope this helps though.

Anyone know if As hard 1.5 kernel will work on H38020a?

It'll prolly work. Was going to make a separate one but don't see any reason to not upgrade to 20C, if your already on nougat.

Tried and lost root. Don't have a Windows PC, so kind of afraid to try flashing again.

[ROM][KERNEL][S2W][4.2.2]AOKP based - 20130820

This ROM can be best described as
"AOKP with some extra flavour"
See also this video from hackarchive
http://youtu.be/l2wpvY4N5x0
I maintain this ROM and a kernel for some time for the HOX+
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2057920
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2027201
Now that I have received my Oppo Find 5 I will support it too
While it is AOKP based which means it will always include the latest
AOKP features it also contains features that I call "useful" from other ROMS
like CM, SlimBean, ...
Attention:
If you ever flashed a stock 4.2 rom you must restore the 4.1 modem firmware
before - else wifi will be broken
You will find a link to a flashable zip with the 4.1 modem firmware e.g. here

Known issues:
-same as for CM10.1
Installation:
Important! Always do a factory reset if coming from another ROM

please get the file /proc/last_kmsg right after the download and
provide the file when reporting
As a final note:
Please keep in mind that this is a "one man business"

Kernel
Download:
This kernel exists in two "flavours" and with two different ramdisk
CM10.1 and AOKP (should work on most AOSP based ROMs too)
The image name is based on the ramdisk and stable or test
So pick the correct one that you need and want
New Kernel:
Based on 4.2 kernel sources

To install simply do (for both Torch.apk and CMTorch.apk)
Code:
adb remount
adb push Torch.apk /system/app
adb shell chmod 644 /system/app/Torch.apk
First custom kernel release:
http://cyano-rob.tuennerhoff-edv.de/Maxwen/OPPO-AOKP-201306200250.zip
Installation:
Make a complete nandroid backup!!!
Flash in recovery
Uses AOKP ramdisk but may also work on other AOSP based roms
Will NOT work with CM10.1 cause this needs a different ramdisk
I will provide a download for CM10.1 tonight
Changelog:
-added BFQ v6r1 I/O scheduler
-added smartmax CPU governor
smartmax is a smartassV2 based governor aimed for battery saving
-added cpuquiet CPU hotplugging
cpuquiet is a generic CPU hotplugging framework originally from Nvidia
it allows usage of different hotplugging governors
Currently 3 governors are available
-balanced
-runnable_threads
-rq_stats (default)
You can use Trickstermod to change the governor
-unified governor and scaling freq switch
governor scaling_max_freq and scaling_min_freq are changed for all online CPUs immediately.
Since mpdecision is switched off any frequency cap will stick
-LZO performnce improvement patch from linux upstream

Some word about voltage control and uv
as you might know there are different qualities of chips
based on that different preset voltages are used. To check your quality do
Code:
cat /proc/pvs
this will return a value between 0 and 3
and on my latest kernel a string between slow and fastest
this value will influence how much uv is possible on your device

Color control on Ex Kernel Manager does not apply on boot... on Frankenclark v0.5.1

I have flashed Frankenclark v0.5.1 from TWRP.
When i adjust colors from color control in Ex kernel manager and reboot... it goes back to default and is not permanent even though i toggled apply on boot.
Doesn't get saved and also High brightness mode gets Disabled after reboot even after toggling.
Did it happened to any of you and how to resolve this issue and make it permanent so that it stays even after reboot.
Also it will be great if any of you experts can tell me settings for Ex Kernal Manager, besides this i have only checked Min CPU to 302 MHz and Disabled Touchboost.
Kernel version shown:
3.10.94-frankenclark-0.3+ [I applied 0.3 first then flashed v0.5.1 so should it show 0.3+ ? ]

[KERNEL] Modified O Boot Image Kernel for O as Daily Driver

After installing the O Preview, with no source code available for the kernel, I was wondering how I could run O as my daily driver with my apps like Sony Music, ES File Explorer (Root) etc, when Chainfire came with SR4 Beta.
Also required in my daily driver is my own custom kernel. Here is a kernel with boot.img from O along with ramdisk and module tweaks:
RACER_O
Kernel version name will show that of O stock boot image, but rest assured that some modifications have been done. Open the kernel zip to explore what is in.
Tweaks that are part of the kernel zip:
ramdisk: init.racer.rc, Bullhead power script, Ghost peper Interactive Gov Profile
default.prop: persist.bt.enableAptXHD=true, ro.opa.eligible.device=true added
Modules packaged for O: (I am testing these modules)
LED
SURROUND LOUDER
APTX - need libaptx.so and libaptxHD.so and may be one or two other files from AOSP BT Stack. As of now O-DP1 doesn't have those. Since the System UI shows the options, one can expect this feature to be activated in future O updates.
Apps packaged for O:
Pixel Launcher
Sony Ericsson Music
Reserved -1
Reserved for later

Reserved for later
Here is a kernel with boot.img from O along with ramdisk and module tweaks:
RACER_O_20170324
Kernel version name will show that of O stock boot image, but rest assured that some modifications have been done. Open the kernel zip to explore what is in.
Is there any way to port this over to the Nexus 6P? Having aptX sounds fantastic (no pun intended), and the ramdisk tweaks could help with the sluggish performance in O.
So this is stock or does it have performance enhancements ? Its not overclocked is it ?

No. Everything that goes into zImage of the kernel is stock. External modules and tunables are all that can be played with now.
Previous builds posted here have too much battery drain during active as well as idle, though they are still not show stoppers.
Here is a more stockish build with stock interactive gov and stock thermal conf tuning to see is there is any improvement on the battery front. Thermal appears to be work in progress. I have not seen any exposed parameter tunables such as /sys/module/msm_thermal/parameters/temp_threshold

That's strange. I hope you are using latest Jolla recovery and Chainfire's Su...SR4. Root works like a charm for me. A pixel launcher and navbar animation are available, even before Charles comes up with his full mod, that is already in the making I think. Overall I have no reason to get back to nougat.

Flash the preview O and used SuperSU SR4. I used standard TWRP, I believe 3.0.1. Didn't have any issues when loading TWRP and Preview O work. Just when I tried flashing SR4 via TWRP the thing went into bootloop and would not boot. The only way to force boot the ROM was to flash the stock preview kernel back. Not sure what happened, but could not get root to work flashing the ZIP

Just when I tried flashing SR4 via TWRP the thing went into bootloop and would not boot. The only way to force boot the ROM was to flash the stock preview kernel back. Not sure what happened, but could not get root to work flashing the ZIP

I found a test folder with 24th march versions and main folder with 25th kernel versions. Which one should I install? What is RACER_O_20170325_GP.zip?

It has Ghost Pepper interactive governor profile and stock thermal. The other option has stock interactive governor and stock thermal. The test builds are with different thermal-engine-8992.conf options. If you extract the zip you can play around with init.racer.rc and other files to pack different flavours and create your own kernel zip.

That's strange. I hope you are using latest Jolla recovery and Chainfire's Su...SR4. Root works like a charm for me. A pixel launcher and navbar animation are available, even before Charles comes up with his full mod, that is already in the making I think. Overall I have no reason to get back to nougat.

Did anyone test if aptx is working?
Flashed racer 25th march version but did not work. I tried with flac and also spotify (of course my bt headset are capable) but logcat shows nothing

Mods & Tweaks:
ramdisk: init.racer.rc, Ghost peper Interactive Gov Profile
default.prop: persist.bt.enableAptXHD=true, ro.opa.eligible.device=true added
msm_thermal: thermal-engine-8992.conf stock in use in the kernel for now
Installed, but dont seem to be doing anything: lights.bullhead.so, mixer_paths.xml
Help required: How to make O work with f2fs data and cache, usual fstab.bullhead mod has no effect
Apps packaged for O:
Pixel Launcher
Sony Ericsson Music

The lights.bullhead.so file is for the RED LED when on low battery. The mixer_paths.xml contains the DualMonoV2 LOUD "surround sound".

I am searching for it. Navbar animation in pixel o has some major advances. You can edit it to add 2 more buttons. We have to wait till somebody ports it.

spectrum profiles can be switched from a quick toggle tile
That is ui and fuctionality
Kernel auditor the easiest way is the widget and it's broken in most versions .. So i have to open kernel auditor and change profiles

but to do that devs need to unnecessary go though a lot of pain compiling spectrum and putting same profile codes and repack to remdisk...kernel auditor is very easy and less time consuming for devs...
can't you wait for few seconds for kernel auditor to open and apply profiles....

For workaround just flash this zip through TWRP then you can use spectrum app on any rom.
Thanks again @Hard_Rock83 for your awesome Rom.

I think the four profile, i.e. balance, performance, gaming and battery save mode is defaulted in the app?? The spectrum injector is just some sort of zip that make it compatible with the rom? I'm a noob but i just follow the instruction of the thread here to make the app usable in any rom.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-spectrum-kernel-manager-users-t3601542
Dev states that we can add any profile we like in this rom with instructions according to rom dev supports, but i just use the default four profiles and didn't make any changes.
