Problem with 2 SIMS from the same carrier in Leeco Cool1 Dual sim phone - Coolpad Cool1 Questions & Answers

This is weird. I just bough Leeco Cool 1 Dual, the (il)legitimate son from Leeco and Coolpad. The phone is okay for the money. It however has a weird problem. It is unable to activate one of the sims from the same carrier. I have 2 Nigeria MTN sims in the phone, but only one works irrespective of the slot it is in while the second one which work okay in other phones does not work at all irrespective of the slot. However, sim from a different carrier works fine. What could the problem? Has any of the gurus in the house seen anything like this before? I have even swapped the sim for a new one with no show. Thanks.

Well here in my country some operators demand sim operation in 1st slot only as not many phones come with both sims at 4g standby. Have you tried putting the sim in some other dual standby phone's 2nd slot ?

dual sims

is there a way of having dual simcards in the XDA II
cheers

no... only if you use product like Sim Master or Sim Max, you can have 8 numbers in a sim card with only one active in a time
thanks... will try that out..

Max forget sim master, none of those clone sims work with uk sims unless you have a very early orange sim, I found this out after ordering a 16 in 1 supersim from hongkong and then destroying 3 sim cards when it was attempting to get the Ki number which is needed for cloning.
cheers cruisin..
will give sim master a miss... is sim max any good...
cheers

I think it is impossible to crack the Ki on ANY uk sim card, they use the new method of encoding and it is very secure. I had heard of somebody here on the forum using a twin sim with xda, problem with that is you have to cut your sim down to size and it can also destroy the sim.

Not so. See here-

Does that work with XDA1 or just xda2, its hard enough to get a normal sim into the xda1.

problem with htc mytouch 4g and simcards

hello
my friend have used phone from t-mobile usa
and the phone can't read any sim except orange israel (don't know about t-mobile sim)
how can it be ?
and how it can be changed that the phone will read all the sims ?
now when i try to put any sim i got message "sim card not found"
This phone requires a certain type of SIM. Different SIMs have different shapes and sizes of contact area for the chip. Compare them and you'll see what I mean.

thanks for your answer
than there is anything to do to solve this ?
from 7 different carriers orange israel will be the only one will work on this phone?
btw . i now see other post you talked about the sim sizes...
in my case the sim size is identical
but i think the chip size is different
the one that work have a larger chip
look at the bottom of the sim and make sure the metal contacts are in the same place as the tmobile sim (look up a picture of tmobile sim on google if you need it) otherwise its possible that the phone is not sim unlocked
from what i see it's not on the same place as t-mobile sim
just orange israel sim is the same as t-mobile

Take a working SIM to the carrier you want it to work with and see if they will sell you a SIM that matches that type.

i don't think they have that type of sim
because they new carriers that sell just the new one
there is no service that can unlock it to work with all the sim cards types ?
or this is done deal ?
It not the carrier type that is the issue. This is the hardware on the mobo. If your SIM reads, but the phone is carrier restricted then it will tell you. Unless you are getting a message to that effect this is H.A.R.D.W.A.R.E.

as u said , i am not getting any requset to put any pin or puk or any unlock code...
but there is one carrier that the phone read his sim card (with the bigger chip on the sim card), but it's just 1 from 7 carriers , because the others have different types of sim cards.(the one with the smallest chip on the sim card)..
what about cellphone labs ? they can't replace the part that read the sim to one that can read all the types of the chips (that on the sim cards)
i am the first that stuck with that problem ?
i really don't want to buy another phone
i like that phone
there is no solution for this hardware problem ?
thanks
Cell phone labs? What? Dude it's part of the motherboard. It's engineered for and soldered to the motherboard. You just need the correct style of SIM card.
There are dual SIM adapters out there that MAY work. You could try that, but it will require cutting of the SIMs to make them fit under the battery.

i don't know why they bother to release phone that accept just one type of sim
that most of the phones can accept all the types

And how exactly he should or anyone should know what's exactly your problem? Can be hardware or the simcard. This is up to you to find out.
First try a new simcard , and try to get one micro sim factory cut if you can, if still nothing means is hardware.
Did you put it in wrong?

GT I9505 doesn't detect LTE sim, works fine with 3g Sim
Hello all !
I own a 2.5 year old GT i9505 (LTE variant) which works completely fine with a 3g Sim but the "Sim Card not inserted" error appears as soon as a 4g Compatible Sim is inserted. Could this be a modem issue ?
I live in India (got the phone from Europe) and have been using 3g services without any hitch for the past 2 years. Vodafone recently launched 4G services here and my phone doesn't detect the new 4G Sim card .
My phone shows the LTE/WCDMA/GSM modes but doesn't detect the Sim card.
Tried with another Sim from the store that doesnt work either.

All ideas and solutions are appreciated.
It's possible that there is something wrong with the phone's sim card reader. You could replace the reader for not a lot of money and it's easy to do yourself.
Maybe your phone is unable to detect LTE Networks from Vodafone India because from what I research, India uses TDD-LTE. You could Google-d LTE bands that used in India and compare it with your phone's supported LTE bands.

I considered that option but a 3g sim works perfectly. Do you still think it would help ?

I guess I am just lucky my phone supports both.

Still no luck !
I don't know that much about sim card technology. Have you tried the LTE sim card in a very old phone to see if the old phone detects the sim?

I did infact it works with every phone except this one.
Leads me to conclude it is the sim reader or motherboard if no LTE SIM cards work. Doesn't seem like software.

From what I can see on http://www.telus.com/en/bc/mobility/network/coverage-map.jsp Telus doen't operate a 2G network. The sim that is not using data uses only 2G network, and there is the problem for you
I use two sim from same carrier and no issues, my carrier support 2g/3g/lte, sim with data on is 3g/lte and sim without data always fall to slowest network
If your carrier only support 3g you won't be able to use two sims.

Xperia Z5 Dual Sim Card - doesn't support 2 sim cards of the same network

HI EVERYONE,
Hope you can help me or give an advice...
I got Xperia Z5 Dual Sim Card phone. I'm on UK network. If I use both sim slots with the same provider, one of the slots stops working immediately. Shows no signal bars whatsoever. As soon as I use two different sim cards from different providers, both work fine. I called my network provider, but they state it's a phones fault.
Has anyone experienced anything like that?
Can you buy new sim card? And try with the new one
Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
Could it be your carrier doesn't have GSM coverage in your area?
I think 3 in the UK does not have GSM. When you are in 'dual standby' mode one of the SIM cards MUST be on GSM only mode, therefore if your carrier doesn't have GSM it will never connect. This is a funny limitation, but it's what allows for dual standby phones to be made relatively simple without having to have two radios for two carriers, which would make the phone a lot bigger and complicated.
I went to the actual store and swapped the sim cards, but nothing helped

I never thought of that... It's strange as I went to Vodafone store and they said they don't support dual sim card phones at all.
I am actually with network 3, so thought there shouldn't be issues like this. Another funny thing is, that if I swap the slots with the same network 3 sim cards, sometimes slot No1 and sometimes slot No2 isn't working. As soon as I put one Vodafone and the other network 3 sim cards, both slots work just fine

I used my Z5 Dual when I was in the UK and was having real problems getting the EE sim card to work on the data side, it seems that when I put in the EE card my phone restarts (annoying but standard) and it resets the data preference to 3G which meant that I had no coverage. As soon as I switched the data preference to LTE it was up and running full guns again.

Thanks for you answer. Seems that it's more to do with the provider then the actual phone.
Sad that phone like this couldn't be used to it's full potential
