SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS TO ROOT XPERIA Z5 PREMIUM / E6833 / E6853 / E6883
FIRST put supersu (flashable zip) (SR3 of 2.78) in your SD CARD
DOWNLOAD your build (ftf) file as per country (or region) from
https://xpericheck.com/device/E6853
ORRRR ( Flashtoot.net)
you can use FLASHTOOL's XPERIFIRM (see fotos) / browse to your device and select build to download you .305 and flashtool will compile original ftf file and make it ready for your to flash! / switch off device, connect it in flashmode and perform clean flashing of .305 (as attached)
once flashed, now u need to flash kernel
download IMG FILE OF 32.2.A.0.305 from https://mega.nz/#F!KwZhjLIK!uNbDzR6l...FS1WQ!WpZAkLZC ( thanks to @KbaB.BroS)
connect device in FASTBOOT mode and select kernel to FLASH and flash IMG file
boot , on sony logo, press volume up key, it will take u to recovery, install from zip and flash the superSU zip from sdcard.
once done, wipe delvik cache (optional)
reboot
DONE
REMEMBER, THE WHOLE SAGA OF DRM KEYS IS SKIPPED

They should work now, it became encrypted because I had to agree to a new policy. Same link.

without root, you cannot give sdcard permission to third party app ~
Im already done flash kernel with recovery and sr3 supersu.. But still not done with sdcard permission..
** btw im found app marshmellow sd fix plus xpose and solve sdcard permission problem..

Wipe data if your using custom/deodex rom) ,
Flash the attached cwm zip , dualrecovery.zip , and superuserfix.zip .
Turn of your phone , and flash kernel/fota/baseband using flashtool,
Remember to exclude system partition and untick wipe options in flashtool

The download link for the rom works fine for me, yeah just saw the encryption of super su
You can search for the super su fix and download from somewhere else its only needed for rooting the rom
Download SuperSU directly from Chainfire's site - http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu

After flashing the rom, xz dualrecovery and update-supersu zip files, i use flashtool to flash the .ftf file and uncheck all wipe data boxes, and exclude everything except fota,kernel and baseband, am i correct?
It's the last part with the exclusions that i didn't get completely right..sorry if i look like an idiot :cyclops:

that's strange i flashed the file and everything worked fine
What error message did you get? If it was a md5 error then download the file again and then flash it
i get error extracting update-binary if i remember correctly...
anyway after trying some other methods, i managed to unroot my phone..
I'm gonna try your method again, since my phone is kinda messed up now..

wifi worked fine, i had root but some weird issued occurred as i described in the above thread..
and after i tried for a second time, i lost root...so i am back from the beginning...
just to mention i have lb, but i guess it doesn't matter when flashing stock kernels, right?
its going to crash out on
set_perm(1002, 1002, 0440, "/system/etc/dbus.conf");
as there doesn't appear to be a dbus.conf in the zip.
as the remaining permissions then aren't set it could well be why the sensors and wifi etc don't play nicely.

i got stuck when flashing your zip, process ended with fail message as decribed above..phone can boot after that but with no wifi...
I also dont get back to a recovery. i have root and tried installing dualrecovery again, but i can't enter the recovery to flash another zip.
has anyone an idea how i can flash again a correct zip, or get into the recovery ?

Extract the folder inside and place it in "clockworkmod/backup/"
Then follow the standard procedure to restore a backup.

Hey bro its not showing all the folders when im trying to open it up using with winrar..when i open there is just one file but when extracting it says that there are imgs ext4 files are there but winrar couldnt find it...is my download corrupted??

Recovery is never a part of backup. You will need CWM recovery installed to restore this backup.
It is a CWM backup.
Thanks for sharing. I was able to recover back to stock version.
If you still have the original folder name of the cwm backup, please share in order to avoid the md5 error in cwm. Removing and clearing contents of nandroid.md5 didn't work for me. Had to create md5 from adb.
Also do you have stock recovery backup. I flashed the chinese cwm without taking original recovery backup.
For those getting error in extracting the folder. Open the archive and extract the folder inside rather than full archive.

I need to restore my phone to stock,
When i download this there is nothing in the zip to extract and when i put the zip file in phone i cant restote back up through CWM.

Because you can't extract the file it gives and error cannot extract so not sure if the download is broken can someone please explain ?
I happened to me the same, you have to extract the files one by one, and so perfectly drawn.

For me everything went fine...First boot takes while.
I know first boot takes a while. But its not booting at all. Screen stays off and i can only enter fastboot. But never mind. I while take a different route

Flashed in PhilZ, installation (Rom and SuperSU) worked fine.
Selected "Reboot now" afterwards.
Now it's dead.
Nothing on power on, no fastboot, no flashmode...any suggestions?

That actually did the trick.
I guess the tablet was stuck in some sorta weird power-state.
Tried it once, but probably held the buttons down too shortly.
Managed to get it to flash once, the three times.
Got into flashmode from there, everything running fine on 5.0.2 stock atm.
I guess next step is to root it

Yes you can. But this ROM on 1st post doesn't contain recovery, so you will have to install .zip with it via CWM too.

For Rooting and flashing the zip:
Flash any kernel with twrp recovery temporarily via fastboot as :
fastboot boot boot.img
Or
flash a stock based kernel which has twrp included to fota-recovery partition as mentioned at the end of this post.
Then flash the zip

For Recovery::
I was playing with few kernels and testing recovery on my E6683.
We got new bootloader with Nougat Update , so there is another way to boot into recovery.
I flashed SunKernel ( can be found here ) to recovery partition and I got a working TWRP.
Remember I tested this for personal use and it worked. I dont know how, so please dont complain if it bricked your device or anything.
To Flash Command Is :
fastboot flash recovery <filename>.
To boot into TWRP, press Power Button + Volume Down ( Simultaneously). and leave buttons when phone vibrates. LED will glow and you can enter into recovery now.
Again, You should do it on your responsibilty. I take no responsibility for any damage.

No!. But you can use any stock kernel with twrp included for flashing zips.

No problem here, may be you didn't follow the method properly and make sure to Flash for correct variant.. Also you can try clearing data and cache for the process that stopped.

That phone is non root able there is no twrp for it so magisk won't be able to patch your IMG to give you root and kingsroot and Kingo are most effective with KitKat and lollipop phones... Marshmallow and up which I'm asummin you have is a dead drop with one click root apps and apks sadly.... Next time you get a phone u got to research to see if these things are possible

So how did you root your phone? The video you linked doesn't show how you did it, it only shows that it is rooted.

You should download the original ROM of your phone and then rename the file AP_A205xxxxxxxx.md5 to AP_A205xxxxxxxx.rar and extract it. Copy boot.img.lz4 file to your android phone. Use the app ZArchiver to Extract file boot.img.lz4. output boot.img file. then use Magisk manerger patch to create the patched boot.img file
I think downloading the original ROM only takes about 20 minutes. If the root error occurs, use it to reload the phone firmware.

I guess your isp doesn't use static ip address and it changed when you switched from 2g to 4g

Root SM-A205YN
What I've done so far
1. Download magisk manager apk
2. Download June update rom for phone from Samfrew https://samfrew.com/model/SM-A205YN/region/VAP/ (original not available for my model through samfirmware.net
3. Use zarchiver to copy AP_205xxxxxxxx.md5 to download directory. It will extract it from the zip.
4. Rename AP_205xxxxxxxx.md5 to AP_205xxxxxxx.rar and extract using zarchiver
5. Copy boot.img.Iz4 to download directory and extract (resulting in boot.img)
6. Use magisk manager to patch boot.img (use top install) result magisk_patched.img
7. Rename magisk_patched.img to boot.img
9. Use zarchiver to compress boot.img to boot.tar
What I will do next
10. Copy boot.tar to pc
11. On phone developer options in settings unlock OEM and enable usb debugging
Edit: unlock bootloader

12. Turn phone on download mode
13. Connect phone to pc
14. Use JOdin (Mac version of Odin) to add boot.tar to phone (use PDA)
15. Restart phone
16. Hold power and vol+ to enter recovery mode.
17. Select wipe/reset data
18. Restart phone
19. Run magisk manager
20. If green phone is rooted.
21. Of red select install/direct install
22. Advanced tick both.
23. Install root checker and verify root
I'm still waiting for some courage.
