Honor 5C is getting EMUI 5 - Honor 5C Guides, News, & Discussion

Saw a positive update from Honor India.
It has been mentioned that Honor 5C will get updated to Nougat. Currently Honor India has started beta testing for Honor 8.
It will take more time to get the update. However it is mentioned in the list of devices which will be getting the Nougat update.

Nice news!
Is it known or predictable when the beta testing is going to start for the device?

Nope. Honor world is busy on EMUI 5.

I don't mind waiting, as long as the update is bug free I'll be happy!

Here is another source confirming EMUI 5 (Nougat update) for Honor 5C. It is to be noted that Honor 5X is not getting it

Only EMUI 5 update is not for 5X.
There are some incremental updates planned for 5X in all regions.

It seems to me that this is correct info. If that is true it will be great to skip 5.0 full of bugs and poor battery life and directly get the 5.1 stable. If not I will sell it and get m9+ when it comes to Europe.

sony will not allow you to update OTA or PC Companion a modified phone, you will get a error message. If you want to update you must do so by insalling a prerooted firmware.
I got OTA update... Installed it and nothing special changed...
Before I was on .200 version
Battery is not visible better...
Automatic brightness still not working, how I see...
You say new baseband... What that mean?
Do I need to make factory reset after upgrade? Thanks

Given that this update patches a critical security flaw, I have to say that Sony's rollout is pathetically slow. Some three weeks after the patch was finalized, it still hasn't been released for unbranded phones in many markets including the USA.
Shame on you, Sony. Pull your finger out and release the update globally for all unbranded phones. You owe it to your customers to protect us from this major security issue as quickly as possible.

Give the phone a day or two after the update so it can sync and calibrate. Its normal for the batt. to be worse at the beginning.

Ya, Chinese new year for China, that just like summer holiday, taking very long break.
Sent from my Mi 4i using Tapatalk
I can't wait that long, I think I will install CM13 soon. I can't stand the battery saving of this phone which make the phone kind of useless for me. Even when I add the apps to Protected mode and locked them from being cleared, the Google Clock app's alarm doesn't turn on, almost woke up late for work, and at times the S-Health app stop counting steps. Everything else about the phone is good aside from this behavior.
They confirmed via email? Take anything customer service says with a grain of salt. He didn't post the contents of the email either. Other regions with similar hardware are already launching. I doubt it'll be later than mid January.
Perhaps they'll make it 7.1 instead of 7.0.

Sorry mate but that is simply not true.
Honor are putting millions & millions into this brand.
They are really pushing for a development scene by getting XDA and the likes of MoDaco involved.
They have promised 2 years of updates for this Honor 8.
They know that alot of the selling points of a new phone is how long it's going to be supported via updates.
We might have to wait a little longer or not Samsung are still doing thier beta N program.
I don't think that we are that far behind & I think we will get 7.1.1 and beyond

Yes mate I think that is exactly what is going to happen.
Why else would they go to all this bother ?
They have gone out of their way to set up aforum over at MoDaco ?
It would make no sence to produce a great phone, set up a development community and no keep the phone updated.!

My thoughts Are the same as you

Are Mi A1's software updates handled by Xiaomi??

Is it true that Xiaomi is handling software update of Xiaomi a1?isn't it an Android one phone and Google must be taking care of software update? If that's the case then is it just a phone on pure aosp by Xiaomi? Coz in kernel version I see that it's build on mi server.

I think it's a joint effort, Xiaomi is the one doing the building and testing with Google supporting it and hosting the actual OTA updates, as well as supervising and making sure its all up to standard

Actually the November updated has been just rolled out which is under two weeks after Pixels got it. Don't know about other Android One devices but updates for Xiaomi Mi A1 have been excellent so far.
My only concern is that they don't publish a changelog when you receive an update - just a few generic phrases, like "performance has been improved and bugs have been fixed".

Did you subscribe to any soak test or something?
Does the phone feel smoother? Did they add Dolby Atmos? (A.k.a Moto Audio)
No i did not join a soak test. Yes the phone feels smoother and moto audio is added in, plus Verizon moto z4 now has moto email app included.

Niice, can't wait for the unlocked version release ?
Still waiting (Verizon) .
Maybe if I do a factory reset ?.
Maybe I'm just looking for a reason to
reset my phone and set everything back
up again ?. God I miss custom roms
and installing something new every week.
?
Anyone else got the update?

Ya, love the screen shot of an app?
Looking at it now, something's very fishy about OP and the thread, there's only ONE screenshot and it's on the camera app info, it's not even on the software update menu, he describes very few if any worthy details about the update.
Not to mention, he's the only guy so far who has this supposed "Android 10 update" for the Z4 "OTA on Verzion" when everybody else about almost a week later, still hasn't recieved an update.
The lack of any overwhelming proof and only a very few details is what raises a major red flag for me.
And why would a carrier variant of any phone gets an update before the UNLOCKED version? Could be me but that's honestly unusual for that to happen right?
News outlets shouldn't report on this guy for an update on the Z4, I'm feeling he's just spreading false hype.

I did get the android 10 update. I did not think you guys would want more screen shots sense the moto z4 runs stock android. This is Motorola we are talking about, they have release Carrier updates before retail before.

Thanks for the response, we only want to see more screenshots (Specifically of the Software update menu or about phone menu) because people on other forums are questioning the legitimacy of this thread and we just want further proof.
Something like this may help. Shows Android version and model number in same screenshot, so that people know it's legit ?.

Okay, this is getting annoying at the least. Still nobody has this update, not even me as a Verizon Z4 user, and you're still refusing to send more screenshots of proof and it's been well over a week since you started this thread.
I mean how is it so hard for you to share a couple of screenshots that only takes very little of your time, it's that simple.
So either you're in a soak test, or something is faked (based on looking at how sketchy that original screenshot looked) and assuming either way, you just want to get attention.
People are tired of your bullshitting!
I'm not buying it:
