Unpredictable music play back errors - LG V20 Questions & Answers

Hi guys! I got my self 2 of these bad boys the other day from AT&T. A silver model and a titanium model. This is the first time I've seen this issue so I am seeking some help. My silver model started to have play back error for google play music and youtube - this causes the phone to not have any audio at all until I reboot the phone. Even when I go into the HD audio recorder app, it will not work and causes a crash. I've reset the phone, and was able to see the problem again in a fresh installation. My next thought is that there might be issues with production and I've gotten a lemon. I exchanged the phone since I am within the time limit, and they were glad to help me. Unfortunately, the issue happened again! On the other hand - my Titanium model is running like a champion with no issues at all. I am clocked in at 3 hours of constant playback without an issue.
Any thoughts on this issue? I am currently at a lost.
Things I've tried:
- Clearing data cache for Google Play and Youtube
- Reset to factory settings
- Check phone firmware, have the latest.
- Phone exchange
Seems like it still happens. Interesting to note; I found that my Titanium unit I had much less bloat apps, and they had options to uninstall, while the Silver cannot! Very interesting.

I'm also having the HD audio recorder crashing issues. It crashes right after I stop recording a file. It also crashes if I hit the three dashes up the top right hand corner. I wish I could get to the bottom of this

I finally found the cause of the HD Audio Recorder crashing. There were 3 old recordings from my old phone that were placed in the same folder that HD Record uses. They were copied automatically from my old phone. These files were a different format and caused HD Audio recorder to crash whenever it scanned them.
I have moved the files to another folder and the recorder works perfectly now. Problem solved!

Audio and Video Won't Play?

Hi, ever since I got my G928T I've been having an extremely strange problem where video and audio will not play (regardless of source). This means nothing out of the speakers , and in the case of YouTube, the video being frozen on the first frame.
I've done a factory firmware reset through Kies, and am now rooted running the new custom kernel released a few days ago. I also converted /system, /data, and /cache to f2fs.
However, regardless of what I do, the problem persists.
The only way I've been able to do anything about this problem is by placing a phone call and then ending it. I have no idea why, but this will always fix the audio and sometimes the video for a short period of time.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening? The times when the phone call doesn't fix it are extremely annoying; I practically run my life on my phone and the inability to play media isn't a good thing.
Thanks!
A little more detail with the calling: every single time I want to play a different YouTube video, I have to open the dialer, place a call, and go back to YouTube for the video go begin playback.
Does anyone have any ideas? I'm still trying to find a solutuon!
I dont know i mean trying to find the answer does anyone know this plz give the answer ok
Furthermore, this issue isn't solely audio and video, it's every single sound throughout the OS (including keyboard clicks and tap sounds).
Very odd, I really don't know what to do :/
MAY HAVE FOUND A FIX!! I disabled AdaptSound and SoundAlive with Titanium Backup and I've yet to experience any issues.
This may be what we need!
Let me know if it works for you guys!
I also installed Viper4Audio, and used force enable for the super high audio quality driver.
EDIT: Does not seem to always work; instances of failure have still ocurred
They do, however, seem to be somewhat less frequent...
Good luck everyone!
So a bit more info: ever since installing Viper and disabling said apps via Titanium Backup, I find that most of the time I simply need to press the lock button when the song audio/video isn't working and that'll fix it. I have no idea why turning the screen off would make the phone to play the sound, but that's where I'm at now..

Nexus 4 major issues with no sound at all and no youtube

Nexus 4.
Android 5.1.1
Kernel version 3.4.0-perf-gdffc258
I have had this phone for over 2 years. For last 6 months it has given some problems.
I had an issue 3 months ago where it would stall at the welcome screen for Android.
Factory reset worked on this occasion.
NOW I have major issues with
1. No sound heard. (neither speaker nor headphones)
2. Using the volume key slows the systems right down and no effect on sound (i.e. still cant hear anything)
3. Whatsap call cant be placed or received (if i try it hangs the system)
4. Normal phone calls have the same issue but I can still hear sometimes and the mic also does work but interrupted and laggy.
5. Youtube open but does not play video or audio at all.
6. Spotify can play but no music is heard
7. Screen dims out at times totally
8. After reboot it gives error "Launcher is not responding" . I use the basic version no fancy launchers.
I HAVE tried clearing the cache and resetting to factory but nothing works at all !
Is this a hardware issue or software ? Any tips how to fix it. Thanks
Possible loose connection inside the phone? Was the phone ever dropped or exposed to moisture?

It has been dropped but not from a great distance and also it has a good case. It can be that there was some problems with moisture given there was incessant rain recently and I might have used it for a sec or so.
Would such a problem cause even the software to be slow or hang ? (like whatsapp, calling, youtube)
What do u suggest in this case ?
Did the problems appear shortly after the drop or after slight exposure to moisture?
I suggest removing the back of the phone and check the moisture sensors and look for residue on the circuit boards.
Before doing troubleshooting on the hardware, I would try a full flash back to pure stock lollipop and KitKat, to see if that solves the problem. If that is a no-go, then it would be time to inspect the hardware.
Thanks ! Could u please point me to as to how to get it back to pure stock Is. Thanks

BIG problem, help me. Suddenly don't play any sound, nor input, nor phone calling

Hi folks, stuck in this problem for 3 days, begin to lose hope.
Problem: Saw cell didn't allow input voice , suddenly. Nor in whatsapp, nor video filming (only pics). Either phone calling is REALLY lagging, then I can't talk anyway. Everytime it says "Not succesfull", or "rec is not configurable at the moment", etc., even nothing. [translation from ita].
Neither plays any sound. Nor ringing, not alarms. Not music.
I've tried: Three different ROM. One Marshmallow, Two Lolly. Everytime DEEPLY WIPED internal (also wipe DATA). Put off external card. Tried installing google TTS, and so.
It seems an hardware problem. Seen around world some people got quite same problem, but no solutions till now.
Do you think something hardware have broken ? Some Media controller ?
What model do you have .
Have you flashed stock rom ??
did you ever find a solution to this? It sounds similar to a problem I currently have too...

Weird problems with nexus 6p

Hello.
My friend got a nexus 6p one year ago. One month ago he started to have problem. He was on stock rom
-First when he pressed the touch screen he heard small weird noises (hard to describe)
Then progressively :
-Speaker stopped working
-he could not play youtube video in you tube app : a weird error message (every time different) appeared. Gallery videos don't work as well
-But weirdly enough video played in the web browser including youtube videos, works, still without sound.
-He cannot make calls
-Jack plug doesn't works either, but he can use his Bluetooth headphones
We tried to install a custom rom (lineage os). We succeeded, but the above problem appeared again.
Then we flashed the factory image https://developers.google.com/android/images for nexus 6p. We also succeed but the above problem appeared again.
Thanks in advance for your help

The 6P has two speakers, and they wouldn't both fail at the same time. Sounds like he's damaged the phone somehow. The audio jack and speaker output both not working seem to back this up. I've seen the headphone jack part available separately, and there are guides available to replace it. Before flagging it as a hardware issue and opening the phone up, you want to make sure you wiped the phone completely by formatting the partitions (system, userdata, cache) and use the flash-all.bat included with the full Google image. There is a remote chance it is software related, but I doubt it.
You could always flash a custom kernel, use a kernel manager app to turn off the large core cpu and see if the problems go away. If they do its related to the build problem that causes the 6P to boot loop but those particular symptoms aren't familiar. It's still worth a try if flashing the stock image doesn't fix the problem.

You mean disabling the big CPU ?

Yes. You can always turn it back on but turning it off apparently fixes the permanent boot loop problem on the Nexus 6P. If the problems you are describing are related to the same build problem then turning it off might make them go away. Sometimes people's phones would start acting odd before going into the permanent bootloop. That phone could be on its way there.
this is purely a guess but the problem may be hardware related with the headphone jack. it could have a physical short somewhere. if thats the case the device may think a headphone jack is being used and wont play through speakers because its being told its plugged in. But wont play because of some physical short or an open.

Unable to play any video, no sound and phone reboots on making a call

My Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 has been giving me wierd problems lately. It is running on stock Android and never meddled with any software. I was just speaking to someone over phone and it suddenly rebooted.
Ever since on trying to make a call, the phone hangs up, shows System UI and Phone not responding and reboots. No application is able to play any video. It just stays up as paused. No sound is coming out from any apps.( Tried checking the ringtone for basic sounds and stuff). Everything else works perfectly. No signs of lag. This message is being written from the device itself.
These are what I tried to do :
1. I did a factory data reset, wipe cache.
2. Tried reverting back to previous update.
3. Reflashed the Entire ROM using the flashall_aft.cmd.
Same issues coming up. I am sensing some hardware issue. Not dropped , neither had any liquid damages. All happened suddenly.

I think it is a hardware problem. Go to the service center and repair the phone.
Exact same issue

Bro, Facing the exact same Issue. I even tried flashing custom ROM and the problem still persists. Did you fix it? I can't go out because of the Virus as of now.

Edit:
It seems that if I pull up any video through MX Player it starts playing, without audio though. The audio button shows audio track as disabled and doesn't allow me to change it to Track 1.
I believe, if am not wrong, my device is unable to process audio anywhere. Do you think any part of the motherboard is at fault and could it be tweaked for that??

If I access YouTube through Google Chrome in desktop mode, videos start playing.
So basically any app that processes audio along with video isn't working. For eg: Whatsapp vidoes work if I play them via MX Player but no in the app.
Hence I can't place or receive calls too.
I guess MX player decodes audio seperately, so it plays videos well.

Yes!!!
Although I'm using it for scrolling through Facebook, Instagram (videos without audio ofcourse), for reading journals and minor gaming.
Using a spare one for calling . Serves my purposes for now.
Will tell you if there's any development.
