Reminder based on my current location - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Hey guys,
I find the feature in Google Now to create reminders based on my location. I find that very interesting and check out directly. But I realized that it does not work in my case. The location service is active. I use the feature in Germany. Can anyone help?

It does work, You must have a setting disabled.
Or maybe Battery Optimsation is sleeping the app.
Basically you need GPS enabled, and it needs to be activated at your location.
Try disabling them from the Battery Optimisation.
I know it works, as i use it all the time to remind me when i am at Asda to pickup various items i would normally forget.

Thank you for the reply.
In the Battery Optimsation Settings are all apps listed but not the Google Now app.
The App is using my location and GPS is enabled, see the screenshot below. Do you have any idea?

Hi all First Time post Long time Reader
My Weather App is only displaying the default locations (e.g. NY, LA Shanghai).
When i try to add my location, it states that it cannot find my location. Google maps finds my location fine. gps is on. And in settings, location is on as well. does anyone have any idea as to why it will not allow me to add my location? Which is 29306 , spartanburg BTW.
appreciate any and all help.

You can freeze apps with Titanium (I believe you need the pro version to do this though).
There is an app called "Network Location" that Titanium can freeze, so that may be the solution.
Alternatively, the easiest thing to do (if it works) go to Settings -> Location and security and check the settings in there. I can't see it being that though, as I have wireless network locations on all the time and I've never seen any network location apps cause me problems.
Where are you getting the information that those apps are draining your battery?

THX!!! M8
The informatin is from the "BETTERBATTERYStats " app
look for it on XDA
Disable Settings->Location->Use wireless
Then in either Maps or Latitude, there must be a setting to disable the service. Since freezing these useless battery wasters is one of the first things I do after flashing a new
ROM, I can't tell you exactly what, but you can find it.

Glad to help mate
While freezing apps can obviously help, just making sure you are not logged into Latitude will help a lot with your battery. I reckon I added 12 hours or more to my expected battery life just by logging out and staying out - no freezing required.

(Q)About Google Now

Hey guys, I've recently started using Google Now because Franco kernel gives me a good enough battery. But before enabling Google Now, I had disabled location Report in maps settings.
My question is the following : do I need to tick this option for Google Now to be the most effective or will it use every single feature like advicing nearby places even though Location report is unticked?
Thanks.

Not reallyyy. Unless you need to know what restaurants are closest to you when you're hungry you will need it. If location is off, the 5 day weather forecast will possibly not show. Well its much common sense. You can pretty much do anything on Google now but if it needs your location it will prompt you to enable location settings.

I've recently (like 10 hours ago) re-enabled reporting as I want to get the activity summary each month
Weather works just fine without it, though.

[Solved] Mock locations - fake gps not working

Hey all,
Just got a 6p and have run into an issue. I need the ability to set a fake location but I can't seem to get it to stick on the 6p.
I have tried a few different apps and even ran the expert mode via root with the " Fake GPS" app by MegApps. The location settings are set to device only with both WiFi and Bluetooth scanning options turned off. Yet no matter what I seem to do, the phone still picks up its native gps signal canceling out my mock location.
Anyone know a fix or have any suggestion? Any insight would be appreciated
Running stock with root and tried android N
Edit: After trying numerous apps I finally found one that worked properly. Not sure what's different about it but "Location Cheater" in the play store works
Hey I saw three apps with "Location Cheater" as a name in the play store. Which one worked?

Faking location on Android Device Manager

Hello. Long story short, my girlfriend has overprotective parents who track her location and don't allow her to go downtown with me or go to my house. They use android device manger. And no, she's not twelve.
I downloaded a location spoofer app from the Google play store and put a fake location on her phone. I tested the app on my phone and the location worked. The issue is, on her account, it shows that her location is disabled but it should show the fake location I've set up, just like on my account. I've got a Galaxy S4 LTE and she's got the LTE-A version, my OS is AOSP 6.0.1 and hers is the newest Touchwiz, both downloaded from xda, both rooted. Please, is there a way to fake the location? Anything, I'd be very glad if you told me.
Anyone please?
Did u enable mock location in setting?
Yes, I have
Try other fake location apps
What fake locations app are you using? I've had great success with one called Fake Location Spoofer free on the play store. Also if you use lucky patcher you can get the full paid version but it works with free edition.
You have to root the Phone, then you can move the GPS-Spoofer-APK to /system/app and you can fake position without "Mock Location"
PS: Use the App "Fake GPS location" made by "Lexa"
I'll post the URL later

ADM likely does not report mocked locations, you will need a app that can use root to fake location instead of the standard mock location. An Xposed mod called "Hide Mock Location" will do the trick.
And for your bigger problem, I would buy a cheap ics+ phone for about 30 USD sign into it with the account that the parents use, and then ask your girlfriend to create a new google account to use on her main phone. Keep the cheap phone at home or school or whatever, and connect it to Wi-Fi.
Hope this helps! Glad to see some legitimate uses for faking location other than the pokemon go game stuff that has been infecting the internet.
Here is a cheap phone that will do the trick, feel free to use anything that will run gapps though.

Just modify buildprop to make it look like an s4
It actually works now without a flaw, must've been a temporary issue. Thanks a lot for your help! The thread is resolved.

Glad to hear! I tested it on my g3 with an aosp rom and it worked. :highfive:
Be careful, if you accidently turn off mock location, ADM will briefly report the real location and it may show up as a "last known location" for some accounts. AFAIK ADM doesn't have a "cheat detection" like PokeGo or Ingress.
