Cracked Screen International GS7 Edge - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

I cracked the screen (I believe both glass and LCD) on my international GS7 Edge. Samsung USA won't fix it, I am willing to pay pretty much whatever they would charge, but they won't touch. Is there anything definitive showing that the international version, G935F, uses a different Glass/LCD than the US versions?
Shipping back to the UAE, origin country of my device, is a bit steep; but has anyone sent their device back to the origin country for repair?
Finally, if that is not an option is there a reputable repair center in the USA for a screen replacement for the G935F?
Thanks for any feedback/help!!

Isnt there any local phone repair shops in your neighbourhood ? All official service centers of all brands don't touch any device if they weren't made to be sold in a spesific region. You don't need to stick with official repairs, just find a good tech and get the job done. :good:

Where to buy replacement screen

Something fell off my shelf and feel directly on my phone earlier, cracked the screen to hell. Actual screen part is alright, but the glass is destroyed.
I have been looking for a few hours trying to find a place that has them in stock but to no avail. I am looking for a US or other North American based seller as I do not have the time to wait for a shipper from Hong Kong or elsewhere in Asia.
Does anybody know of a website or specific seller on eBay that is reputable or just has them in stock, any help at all would be very appreciated.
Thanks

Service for international variant in the US?

Hi all,
I cracked my screen and need to replace it, however Samsung US doesn't want to do it and told me to contact Samsung from the country of origin for repair. I have an Iraqi variant but can't get Samsung Iraq on the phone. I contacted local repair shops and was quoted $399 for a screen replacement but without guaranty that the phone will still be waterproof.
Has any one successfully had their GS7E serviced in the US and if so, how?
Thanks!

Does Samsung do international warranty?

I'm in Australia, and bought my S7 edge dual sim from an eBay seller who imported the phone from HK (i believe).
Looks like I'm having a hardware problem with the phone (bought it in August 2016), and I don't want to send it back to HK for repair, and there's a Samsung shop near my place, do you think they will accept my phone and get it fixed?
Not really sure about the warranty.
Any aussies with similar experience?
I don't think Samsung offers international warranty. In doesn't at least in India.
I think Samsung offers regional warranty, not global.

Availability of dual sim variant

Hello everyone,
I am eagerly waiting to preorder the much-awaited S8(+), but since I do not live in any of the regions which traditionally supply the dual sim variant (South Korea? India? Singapore? China? Thailand?) I would like to know if any supplier is well known for forwarding a dual-sim S8 to Europe, and if so which one would you advise choosing.
My guess is preorders will be quickly saturated so I would like to know where I could get my hands on a dual sim S8 as early as possible
Thank you xda!
Me too, for import to France
In my opinion best dual sim versions coming from UAE. Currently I have s7 edge duos from UAE, and is perfect. Looks same like EU version (even address on backplate is UK). I had in the past s6 duos from china, all documentation in Chinese, also China address on the back. However it was working perfect.
Anyone know reliable online shop in UAE, who shipping to UK?

There is none reliable online store and I don't recommend buying from there as as difficult to get local warranty, still if you want to buy than get it from someone working or living there like friend or relative etc.
Saying reliable online store I mean, real store with good recommendation, who will send device to me without any problems. Unfortunately I don't know any person living there...

I don't agree with many ppl here.. There are lots or reliable sources in uae, well known local online stores with a track record, i personally bought from them (and i live in dubai) and i know for a fact that they ship to many customers in Europe (reading from few other threads on xda related to Samsung products) try Mike&Smith uae and try mygsm uae.. Just Google them.. Hope this helps as i did buy from both many times..
I contacted mygsm uae. They will have s8 duos in stock next week, Shipping to UK is £20, so I will use them

WooooW i never thought they will get it that fast, am already on the waiting list for several sellers here in dubai. Good luck for us.
Thank you for all the advice, mygsm does not display price yet and Mike&Smith sells the S8+ for 4000AED (1020€) which is crazy expensive, will any reseller be cheaper, or is there any other dual-sim friendly country which may sell it for less?

Unlocked S8 SM-G950U vs SM-G950F

I am getting Samsung Galaxy S8 SM-G950U north American unlocked for $574 vs Galaxy S8 SM-G950F International unlocked for $624 excluding taxes. I went through the forum but still not able to make up my mind on this. I want to get phone which works in US as well as outside since I travel a lot.
I don't care if Samsung pay doesn't work since I don't use it. I know they have different processors but don't know which one is better. Since both are unlocked I think volte and wifi calling will not work directly them without having to flash a new firmware and I don't want to void the warranty right now. Also does north American variant gets updates as fast as international one? I have read the international one is getting fast updates this year.
Apart from this is their any pros to go for international version? otherwise I could save 50 bucks with G950U model.
for more custom roms choose 900F
Yeah pay the extra and have a phone that ends up supported for years to come. When Samsung stops supporting snapdragon variant (which I have), we're essentially dead in the water.
Definitely get exynos G950F
I too think, SM-G950F would be best for you, as you travel a lot. But, If you live in US and by any chance, your phone get damaged some how, you can't send it to Samsung US to repair. They won't even touch the phone as it is an international variant.

I am buying it from B&H. They have a full year warranty on both phones in case anything happens. We can also take an extended square trade 2 or 3 years warranty as well. I think I will go with 950F if that is more flexible and supported.

Really?! I didn't know that. I bought the NA variant from Amazon after the price drop. If you are getting full 1 year warranty on 950F then go for it without any doubt.
P.S. : If you are thinking to buy a screen protector, don't buy OTAO. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074SJV133/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0
It sucks. I got mine today. The installation was great, but the protector itself is so bad! Also, if you have any recommendation on the screen protector, please let me know.
