Google cardboard on P8 lite with android 6.0?

Hi!
Does anyone know if google cardboard will work on p8 lite with marshmallow?
Because P8 lite has no gyroscope but i heard that it could be replaced by software.
Thanks.
It would be great!...

Tried this already but its a bit delayed. It's moving a bit when the phone is sitting steady. But good thing we have virtual gyro.

Switching to a P9 lite

Hi guys,
I'm hoping to switch to a p9 lite. So need ideas from all of you; the best people i can count on who has the experience with P9 lite.
Are there any issues with the phone or is my decision good? Please help.
Thanks in advance
hardware is good...i like it, no problems here... software sucks... with emui 5.0 it will be better i hope
Your decision good! If you dont like EMUI4 replace standard launcher with nova.
But mind that P9l not has gyroscope as required.

saying that your should use Nova if you don't like emui is like saying to wear makeup to hide that you are stupid...i don't like emui because of a lot of reasons...i came from a Nexus so for me emui is killing the Android... it's not just about the looks... it has a task killer for God's sake... Android with task killer in a 2gb device... plain stupid
Your right. Nova is spoilage. But even so smart spoilage.
yeah.
. nevertheless Nova is great
Don't buy 2GB version. Just don't.

What do you mean? Is it freezing or not reaching the expectations or just the ui sucks?

For me,it works fine.
Sure, due to the fact that it has 2GB of ram, some apps which would possibly stay in the background on the 3GB of ram will be killed on 2GB. Other than that,it is working fine,I don't even multitask that much, and the phone is snappy even while the 2 cores of the first cluster are disabled(DIY 6-core setup,it saves up the battery life a bit)

P9 Lite, the J7 is trash at screen resolution and CPU performance. And it probably won't have custom ROMs in the future, while the P9 Lite already has "usable"-ish CM13.
And even the stock ROM is snappy.

Unfortunately no otg USB support... And I don't know how to fix it.. Otherwise this phone has everything and good though

Dealing with severe lag and Freezes.

Hi everyone
I bought this phone 2 months ago.Its quite beatiful, elegant, fast, with good cameras but im facing a problem ever since i got it.
The first time i noticed it behaving odly was the first time i updated the phone(When i first got the phone). After it finished applying the update it got stuck at 100% on system maintenance..I waited for half an hour until i manually restarted it.After that the phone was okay and i didnt take it very seriously.Ever since then, these last 2 months SOMETIMES (Maybe once every 2 days) the phone gets so LAGGY and it FREEZES up,and i either have to wait a few minutes for it to stop lagging or i have to Reboot it.This happens randomly (So far it has happened while using Google Chrome or some games im playing). But the odd thing is that i've noticed this happening the most whenever i use a game called "The walking dead:road to survival".I've used this app in my previous phone and never had such a problem(I dont quit the game but i do let it run on the background, maybe that might be the cause of something).I've already done a restore to the factory settings and am thinking of returning it since i might have a defective unit or something.Any help would be appreciated.:highfive:
Try the magical thing called the Factory Reset.

Currently im on VNS-L21C432B150,which i believe is the latest one.
Also i've hibernated that game which i was talking about and so far (3days) I havent had a single freeze or lag.Maybe its incopatible or the app could cause this?:silly:
Im dealing with the same problem without playing that game...if I restart the phone it stops lagging for like 2 weeks..but after that it gets laggy again..do anyone knows how to fix it? Should I return it back??
Is any one of you rooted? Because if you mess up with RAM management, it's gonna get laggy buddies!

To be honest, RAM management on EMUI is freaking horrible!
It was the main reason I installed CM as soon as I could.

That's weird...I only get freezes and lag whenever I run that game.
Have you tried other, more demanding games? Maybe it wasn't optimized for Huawei hardware...
It may be your SD card.

That's a possibility because I read some posts that were saying that the game wasn't compatible with Intel CPUs.

I don't use an SD card.
EMUI has a good memory management.
It cares how you USE your phone
1. Do not unlock the bootloader
2. Do not root it
3. Take care of your phone (clean the ram, the memory cache, etc)
4. Update to the lastest version
And that's all

Flash Lineage ROM if you are having problems with RAM management. EMUI does a terrible job there.
Huawei p9 lite lagging and freezing
I have Huawei p9 lite and got some problems.
When I use Instagram a bit while like 5-10minutes it starts lagging and it will freez after 5minutes or something. Also some other apps but always on Instagram every single time i use no matter what I do. I clean the cashe, ram everything even I reboot, factory data reset and install just Instagram and nothing else in my phone and theres go again, lagging and freezing.
Please feel free to comment a solution. Thanks

Have Huawei been cheating with Mate 8 aswell with memory type ?

You have probably been reading lately a lot about huawei, that p10 have apparently different memory types, it is a lottery you have no idea which one you will get, but the speed difference turn out to be big.
Yesterday Huawei did also delete from their website that mate 9 have UFS 2.0 memory which seem suspicious .
So lets post your benchmarks here please so we can conclude people got DDR4 memory and not DDR3.
Also before benchmarking clean all apps in memory in phone manager and also in the app switcher. I recommend you use Androbench
here is my benchmark
here is mine L09C636
My benchmark are at some thread. I have a emmc internal memory not an UFS
This is mine from Mate 8 L29C185
So immense (factor of 2) differences can be observed here as well
My phone, of course, also falls in the "slow-department" :good:
Mine is below..

@blackinfinity and @Pfeffernuss make sure there arent any other apps using your storage while ure benching. sure hope the differences seen here are only due to storage access and not the hardware type installed....

I wonder what memory type our mate 8 phones should have.

seem I have gotten the slowest speed in the whole thread ? Mine was bought in sweden.
Roughly the same results as most here.

I'm highly sure, that the benchmarked speed's doesn't tell us what type of memory was used. The results are inconsistent, and closing apps in the task manager doesn't mean they are completely closed in the background, they can still use the storage. There's a command you can run in a terminal emulator app, that can tell you witch type of memory was used in your phone, but it was written for the P10, i'm not sure it's working also with our phone, but i will test. Here's the command:
ls /proc/fs/*
If it shows sd*** below /proc/fs/f2fs, it's UFS.
If it show mmc*** below /proc/fs/f2fs, it's eMMC.
Edit: mine phone is using eMMC!
As i can remember the Mate8 wasn't advertised with UFS storage, so i'm guessing all units where made with eMMC. I'm not sure, its just a theory.

I saw the live release event. UFS 2.0 was one of the selling points.

P10 Lite Performance issues

Hey Guys
I really dont know why but my P10 Lite is really struggling with some apps.
Its lagging everywhere even though its supposed to be able to run them smothly.
For example my old broken Nexus 5 is able to run most of the apps better than my P10
Any suggestions ? Maybe there are some settings i need to change
