Upgrade GSM and GPS moduls? - Android Stick & Console RockChip based Computers

Hello guys, I hope I'm right here and you can understand me.
I wanna buy an Android box like the Scishion V88 for my car-pc project. For Google Maps and other Apps, I need GSM and GPS and I know no box, which provides both.
So my question: Is it possible to upgrade GSM and GPS USB sticks on Android 5.1? On my research, I found some topics but these topics are very old.
I think it's not plug & play but no problem, because I wanna use an custom rom for the box.
Have anyone information for me?

RoadCom RC 400C - help me

Hello, recently my sister bought this device which is based on WinCE core 5.0 system with Route66 software. I tried to find some polish maps and put them inside but I couldn't. I read a lot of ways to unlock and install another software for example TomTom bu still with no happy ending. So my question is can anybody help me with that? I want to have on that device a map of Poland with polish speakers instead of UK maps. I tried to use MioPocket 3.0 Release 59 with SD card but still Route66 starts for all the time. I didn't find any maps on the internet only those from 66.com for which there is a price I have to pay but I can't spend that amount of money for that. So if there is anybody who can help me, please let me know.

rSAP for Desire

Hello all
I have HTC Desire and a VW with BT Premium Kit, which only supports rSAP.
I have been looking into forums for an application which can enable rSAP on Desire, but I have been unsuccessful in my searches.
Some say that this is working for Android 2.1 Update 1, but I was not able to pair the devices.
Does anyone have this working?
Is there any Android Apps Developer who is willing to try to do this?
Thanks
my desire works well with my VW BT
i can dial and have my contacts available
the only thing which is not working is sms
rSAP
Can you please tell me how you did it?
My VW detects my phone, but says always "phone not compatible" or something like that.
Did you get it working on the first try? Do you have RNS510?
What SW do you have on your desire?
rSAP
Ragardin rSAP for VW i can say the following:
It's not working
If u have new VW (i have Golf mk6) with new RCD/NCD 510 multimedia and u have bluetooth kit for mobile phone, Desire will not be able to be found by your/mine media system, coz android haven't this stupid rSAP protocol. I can't explain how mad I'm now about this. It has more than 10 protocols for BT, but not rSAP.
So i bought Desire today and turned it back in store 30 mins ago. This is extremely good device, but without rSAP its useless for me...
I took HD2 and i will turn it back as well btw
I hope that some1 could tell us, is the rSAP support hardware option or software. If its hw option - than it sucks...
Dear friends, please, follow the link:

and add stars to "Issue 4402: rSAP / Sim access bluetooth profile"
Hope this action could help us.
android rSAP
yes, I already starred this issue with rSAP. It is soooo frustrating - having 2 perfect devices, desire and passat with handsfree, and they cannot speak together - really frustrating. Old parrot handsfree had no problems!
If anyone has a solution, please let us know.
are there any news on rSAP development ?
I have hope that some smart developer will figure it out, how to add it to andorid....
Best regards!
maybe this could be helpful for a developer:

I am wondering why there is absolutely no response on rSAP development discussions?
Is it because no developer has a clue what needs to be done and if there is (even a tiny) chance to develop rsap support for Desire or is it just the lack of any interest from the side of the developers?
I am sure a lot of people would actually buy the app or upgrade that would enable this feature, so interest should be there...
I guess the main reason why nobody has written an app so far is that the necessary funtions for accessing the SIM card are missing in the Android RIL interface. So it will never be possible to write a universal rSAP app for all Android mobiles. Apart from that basic problem there are some other smaller obstacles to master. And of course you will need root access, at least to install the necessary files.
I did some reengineering on the HTC RIL lib and found a way to access the SIM card on the HTC Magic and probably on the Desire. I guess the other HTC mobiles should work too.
Next I've written a test app running on my HTC Magic that implements the rSAP protocol. It was working with an old 2G SIM card before the card expired. I tested it with a Nokia 616 and with a VW Passat. But now I'm having problems with my 3G (UICC) card. Currently I'm still not sure if I get it running but I'll keep on trying.
thank you for your answer and efforts. at least there is some hope that this will work until I sell my car...
did you use some of the Galaxy S libs?
please, keep us informed on the development!
Best regards!
No, I don't have a Galaxy.
Of course I'll let you know when I have it running. But it will take a few weeks at least.
HI rsap.
That sounds like great job!
If it worked on Magic, it would probably work on Dream/G1 as well, am I right?
If it does, would you help me out with it?
Thanks a lot in advance
it would be amazing, if you'd be able to achieve this =)
and i'm sure, people will pay or at least donate for this app! (me included)
thanks in advance!
Another user posted in this forum "Samsing just made the sourcecode (search: Samsung releases Captivate source code) so there seems to also be a ZIP file for the GT-I9000 (European Samsung Galaxy S)."..maybe this could help you further.
Regards!
I will donate!!!
i want RSAP also , any body have the solution yet? i know it works on Samsung Galaxy S but know i have htc Desire HD it only works us hand free profile!!!!
Regards!!
RSAP where are you? Any news?
You should check again the compatibility, with audi a4 mine hasn't been working but with the 2.29.405.2 it's like charm. Sends pb, received dialled calls and everything. Excellent.
It's still not working but I don't give up hope...
I know enough about the RSAP protocol, the HTC RIL lib and SIM cards. If there is someone out there who knows something about the HTC radio software, especially the AT commands it would be helpful. I could not find anything useful in the net.
Works again on my Magic! I need some time to clean up the software port it to Desire (and other HTCs) and make it installable.
I'll let you know!
WOW! Well done!
Would it be portable to G1 (Dream)?
Please, let me know.
Thanks a lot

[Q] Garmin fenix SmartWatch functions android.

Hi all,
Mabe you know Garmin Fenix outdoor GPS watch. It has Bluetooth 4 LE. In latest firmware 4.40, its posiible to use this watch like smartwatch (notifications etc). The only one problem is that it works only with Iphone. But i realized i can normally with no problems connect from my LG G2 kitkat android.
My question is, does anybody know, if its possible to make app for managing this smartwatch functions with andoid? I would like to code this app, but if here is anybody more experienced than me, please tell me if its possible or it isnt. Or maybe some hints where to start.
My idea is that if i have paired device, i can normally use android bluetooth api.

This is not relevant to Android Wear. Please consider moving the post to the general forums, or forums specific to this watch. I suspect you will have better success there.

[Q] Run Android Wear on SBC

Hello Guys
I am working on a small onboardcomputer for my motorcycle. It shall display some information about the engine and motorcycle in general.
First I planned on developping custom hardware with custom written firmware. The hardware base would have been an ATmega32 with a normal BLE SoC (Blue Nano, for whoever it knows)
However, today a friend brought the idea up if I wouldn't want to realize it on top of android wear, as an app for it.
Of course, this would have several advantages:
1) Other android wear apps would be available too, for example routing, or the remote control over music etc.
2) My "Board Computer" would simply be an app, what is easier to maintain than custom built firmware (think about flashing etc).
3) Solid Base
However, I coulnd't find any informations about running android wear on other hardware than you buy it with.
For example I looked if I can find a tutorial about how to run android wear on a Odroid C1 (which can run the normal Android) but coulnd't find any answers.
Why is that?

It doesn't seem like wear is much more efficient than android. Also, as much as you can do without your phone, there is still a need to pair it with your phone....
What kind of bike do you have? Does it have any sort of OBD equivalent?
Hey
Sorry, it took me a long time to reply.
Well, there doesn't seem to be a way to install Android wear on custom hardware anyway, so the plan is dead (I don't want it to be a hack, there should be a official, reliable way to obtain the software).
Yes, the bike has an ODB-like BUS (it isn't "real" ODB, but some sort of it. I can read some parameters out of it, but normal ODB Libraries aren't compatible with it).
So, what I'd like to to with my boardcomputer is the following (less important things in brackets).
The computer should be paired with the phone over bluetooth, so the smartphone can stay in the pocket
Control the music player of the smartphone
Show a map with the actual position
(Show navigation data, so with routing and everything)
The idea to use android wear was because it supports some of this without big hacks.
And I don't want to reinvent the wheel

Why not just use another phone? Maybe even a custom mount for your current phone.
I am pretty sure you can control an android device with another android device. You can defiantly pull internet from one android to another via wifi hotspot. You could have all your music on it as well. You can find a cheap waterproof phone and custom mount it with a little fiberglass. This mount would even be removable. Anyway PM me if you want to talk about this further. I can help find all the apps you need.

Navhouse 4.4.2 Android Questions

Hello all, I recently got an android head unit from ebay, os 4.4.2, and I have some questions. First all, the MCU is 5.3.17-1-10-610101-151112 with a quadcore-r16 1.6gh processor. There are many apps on the play store that say "incompatible with my device" so I would like to root and update, but cannot figure out or find info how to boot to recovery mode to install. Also if I do root and update will I lose the AM/FM radio app? I have noticed that the same systems are named differently, so it's hard to figure out which one I really have. Another thing I need to know is the best way to connect an ipod via usb and have full control on the stereo. The only thing I can do is Bluetooth to it and play the music I was playing on the ipod but no way to choose which artist without using the ipod itself, so full control is a must. It's actually an old iphone 4 but I only use it as an ipod.
Any help you all can provide will be great, thank you
I have the same unit. What is this comparable to so that I can update it? I really like the abilities it has now, but want to root it to run a few programs I have that require a rooted machine. Also, do you know the code to allow remote debugging?
