3 replacement phones?

I've got an incredible, unrooted, and I'm working on my 3rd replacement in 2 weeks now. The last one, would do the shutdown then 5 vibrates for no reason at random times, started when I got the phone. What is the replacement phone for the incredible? Or does verizon even do this.

Hard to say what a replacement will be. My wife got vzw to replace her Droid 1 w/ a Droid X after her 3rd phone went bad. Some people are getting Inc 2s from Asurion

My friends got droid x from Verizon for a dinc.

I got another inc after one replacement. I used best buy mobile black tie warranty

I know someone with the same problem. Think just after the 2nd one she got a Droid X from verizon.

i have herd people getting droid x2 and incredible 2 and droid x and there have been at least 2 thunderbolts... i believe the x2 and thunderbolt they had to pay the difference on the phone it was like 100-200...
Also last i herd they were out of incredible 1s and thus can't give you a new one anymore... I also herd they were out of droid x.

I would REQUEST a DI2.

Is the Moto X still worth it?

I have my upgrade this week on Verizon, I've been taking a very serious look at the moto X. Motomaker is one of the coolest things on the scene, as well as some of the moto specific features such as active display. The specs just worry me a tad bit when I put it up against something like a G2 which is in the same price range. Many say the specs on this phone are not a indicator of performance, and I actually like the feeling of the Moto X compared to all the other phones I've tried. So should I just throw my spec worry to the wind?

This phone can easily do anything you want it to do. Hardware specs are not a key decision factor here. It is powerful enough.

Don't focus on the specs! I just left a Note 3 and switched to the Moto X ... Don't regret it one bit!

I just did. Came from the HTC One about a week ago and no regrets! No difference in performance on daily tasks and Active Display is the best new feature I've seen in a long time. I did go with the Developer Edition though.

Maybe read the 20 other similar threads....lots of opinions there that I'm sure many aren't going to repeat again.

I would stay its still worth it because the price has done down too. Its a great phone and runs fast and smooth but its also a good deal at almost half the price of the other flagships of its generation..

This has been the best device I have purchased in my four years on android phones. I've had the GS4 and HTC one and this phone IMHO performs just as good if not better.

Don't focus on the spec's. Focus on how it performs. My X performs great. Despite having a Samsung Galaxy S4 in my drawer for work that I could stick my personal SIM in and use, I PURCHASED a Moto X Developer Edition for Verizon in early November (two days before the first price drop, when there was no other option to get 32gig X on VZW).
Also keep in mind, if you plan to root, the Moto Maker and retail Verizon Moto X have a locked bootloader which can not be unlocked. While SlapMyMoto 1.0 works to root phones on 4.4, It has a few steps, including flashing older roms first, etc. In reading this thread -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2538896&page=69 there are reports that root can survive the 4.4.2 update, but it appears the "write protection disable" provided by MotoWpNoMo doesn't survive. Therefore the Developer Edition Moto X for Verizon, which can have its bootloader unlocked and is quicker/easier to root, might be worth looking at.

I have always been about the latest and greatest smart phone and wanted the best specs. When I got the X, I was skeptical. I am now a true believer in that the greatest specs are not needed. Go for the X.

Mine is arriving tomorrow con UK!!, I'm ****ing excited!!. I bought even know in Lenovo bought Motblablabla!!, I don't care I have MotoG and happy to have it so I don't wanna think tomorrow when I'll get MotoX between my hands on!!

Agree with all previous comments - I'm coming from a HTC ONE X, X+, ONE, and even a Sony Xperia ZL in regards to recent phones and the Moto X for some reason just makes me
The HTC ONE was really good in terms of Android phones and the build quality is still impressive. However, in terms of every day use, snappiness, battery life, integration of core services - the Moto X is nearly perfect (in regards to today's phones). Things can be always improved on any phone (screen if you need text to be razor sharp / camera if you are a vampire that only takes pics at night), but considering all the promos and the decent support from Motorola to keep their customers happy - it's worth taking the risk and seeing if you like it (not to mention you can always return it)!
There is paranoia from people regarding the Lenovo deal - who cares. I'm in the tech industry and will probably have a new phone next year anyways. If the Moto X2 is awesome I'll buy it even if it's owned by Lenovo. If something else is better, then they'll get my business. Who cares - just enjoy what we have now that is awesome...and that awesomeness is the Moto X.

I bought two Moto X's and can say unequivocally that they are the best phones I've ever had - and I've had cell phones from the very beginning. Don't focus on the specs - focus on the user experience. The size, performance, battery life and feature makes the X a first-rate product.
Plus, building it on MotoMaker is really cool.

I say do it unless you can hold out til the end of Summer for the "X2" lol. I left the N5 for this when I got in on a promo for it over the holidays. This is my favorite Android phone so far and I've had a lot! Nexus S, Galaxy S2, Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy S3, HTC One, Nexus 5, and probably others I am forgetting lol. The extra features like Active Display, Touchless Controls, and "Drive Mode" are super cool. This phone performs just fine given the "midrange" specs and the fact I customized the colors to my liking makes me like it even more.

I love my moto x and believe that it's worth the money to purchase outright without a contract. With a family of 5, I've had a LOT of "flagship" phones. After receiving my Moto X, I'm thinking about giving my S4 to my 14yr. old son and buying another Moto X for my business line.

I'm debating the moto x too...I might need a new phone cause mine is bricked but i cant help and think a new generation of phones are coming out soon

Best phone I have owned. Very snappy. Love all the extras, like twist to open camera - no more tapping away to get a picture.

Who will stay with Moto after the Ultra/Maxx/Mini?

My last two phones have been Motorola. Functionally speaking they are pretty good and my Maxx has been the most solid phone I have owned. There is a fly in the ointment though. The back cover on multiple phones which have been replaced all creak and squeak after a few months of ownership.
For this reason I am sitting tight until the next ultimate handset comes out that can functionally one-up this phone. One that is built solid but light and has the big battery or super efficient tech to go for days like the Maxx does.

I too have a "creaking" back cover...specifically up by the power button/volume rocker...
That being said...I was always a big Moto fan..and then switched because I HAD to have the Galaxy S3 when it dropped...and that was the WORST cell phone related mistake of my life..
I couldn't wait to dump that thing and get back to Moto...I just hope that they decide to continue the Droid line along with the X line...
I am almost 100% sure that my next phone will be a Motorola...

Droid 2, Droid 4, Droid MAXX. They've all been tanks. I had two Droid 4s that both got wet and they both pulled through until months later... Hardware wise and build quality wise I have no complaints.

I have had several Motorolas: the droid 1 a855, Droid Razr Maxx, and now the Droid Maxx. I loved the root-ability of the first two, although the Droid Razr Maxx was a beeatch. Now that I'm on the latest droid Maxx, it really sucks that it can't be rooted, at least since that chinese guy got caught, and I'm stuck with a slower-than-it-should-be device, which I cannot customize. I will only stick with Motorola if they don't lock the bootloader on the next one, but I doubt that will happen. Looks like I will get a nexus next.

Moto for life...

It's way too early for me to tell. I'll see what's available at upgrade time and decide then. This phone will be great until then.

I've had over a dozen Moto phones starting with the original brick and almost every flagship phone since then. I've strayed a couple times in the last 20 years and quickly came back.
I'll stay with my flagship Moto Dev's unless Lenovo messes with the built like a tank phones that we have enjoyed. If I can't drop it in a pool or river(true stories), dry it out and use it the next day, I don't want it lol.

I just want to get out from under Verizon. That being said the functionality of these phones is awesome. So unless Google uses these new features in the next Nexus i'm jumping to the new Moto X on AT&T or the One from One plus.

I'm not expecting to stick with Motorola, but I'm not necessarily opposed to it. I've been relatively happy with my Maxx- battery life has been far better than any other phone I've had (particularly coming from a Galaxy Nexus), which is really what drove me to the Maxx instead of the HTC One.
It seems like battery life of other phones is improving, taking away the primary distinguishing factor that brought me to Motorola. I haven't been completely happy with the performance of some apps on the Maxx, and the screen resolution could use a bump, so I'm going to prioritize those things a little higher next time around.
I'm really interested in seeing what happens with the Android Silver program. It would be tough for me to move off Verizon. Assuming Verizon participates in Android Silver, that's probably the closest thing Verizon users will get to a Nexus-like experience.

There is a new phone out every other week....
...from some company or other. So there is no way to tell what will be the best price vs performance choice a year and a half from now when my contract expires again.
I have to say thought that even though I have had root on previous Android Phones (Droid 1 and Droid 3) I don't really miss it on my Max. The biggest reason I wanted it on previous phones was to get rid of all the crap that I never used. But with the Maxx it seems like there is 1. less crap to begin with and 2. A lot of it can be disabled (including a lot of the verizon stuff) using the regular android settings menu. So I'm not particularly missing root on this phone.
On my Droid 1, late in its life I did start messing with custom roms just for fun. Funny thing is that I still have that Droid 1 sitting here on my desk running Cyanogen Mod 7.2 (think its .2 - don't remember for sure). It doesnt have cellular access anymore but it still works around the house as a WiFi only device.
PS: I was not sorry to see the Droid 3 go away. That one never lived up to my hopes for it. I liked the form factor and I do sometimes miss the physical keyboard but the CPU always seemed slow and I almost immediately regretted getting a 3G device rather than holding out a bit longer for a 4G phone.

I am very impressed with my Maxx, even today. I don't trust Verizon, and am leery of Lenovo. I want to continue with this company's awesome path that started with Google's purchase, but I am not sure that Lenovo will allow that. I am also disappointed that thanks to Verizon I am still running 4.4.0.
If they release a 64gb Moto whatever with a super battery, and the quality stays the same, I will stick with them barring further course changes for the company strategy.

My last 2 smartphones have been Motorola Droids and I love both of them. Unless in the future they remove the things I love about the phone (NFC, Qi Charging, Awesome Battery) I don't see myself using a different brand.

When using other phones in the store, they just don't do it for me. I do love the Android experience on this latest phone.

In the store moments ago the sales reps are telling a customer that his only option to get a new phone is to give up unlimited data or buy outright. Did not mention device payment plan. Shysters.

...or at least how I did it. Don't get your phone at the Verizon Store. Order it online from Verizon (not from Amazon, wirefly, ect or any other third party - direct from Verizon). Along the way choose the option to "keep my existing plan". It let me keep my unlimited data plan that's been grandfathered for me ever since my first smart phone way back when (was a Samsung i760 Windows Mobile if anyone cares). I chose to "pick up in store" even though I had ordered on line. They guys at the store couldn't believe I still had unlimited data. They said they thought that couldn't be done.

I will stay with my Droid Mini. It has the best combination of size, power, apps, and now with it able to utilize the XLTE speeds makes it even better. I am just not that interested in getting a phone that I have to carry in hand vice in my pocket because every phone out now is 5" plus. I swear most newer phones are nearing the size of my Nexus 7 LOL.

I may jump ship if one came out with either 64Gb or SD card slot.

The Moto E has an SD card slot and the newer release of the Moto G is getting one too. I don't know if this is an indication that Moto is changing its philosophy with the Lenovo merger (Google doesn't like SD Cards) or just an acknowledgement that these "lesser phones" don't have enough on board storage to be useful without one. The E for example has only 4 GB storage and according to the article I read, has only 2.2 GB left for the user after the OS and system apps are installed.

I would lean towards the latter and it being a cost saving move.

These are Verizon phones
The title lists only the Droid series - Ultra/ Mini and Maxx.
The 'real' Motorola phones are the X, G and E for now.
So, question should be rephrased to "Who will stay with Verizon after the Ultra/Maxx/Mini?"
I am not in the US and using the Droid Maxx. My earlier phone - Motorola Defy - is still working after 3 years and several CM installs.
The hardware is pretty strong on that one and the build quality is good. The phone got wet several times in the rain and there have been no permanent issues due to water.
I cannot say the same for the Droid Maxx. It would be risking too much for me (I paid twice the amount to acquire a Droid Maxx, to what I paid to get a Defy three years ago.)
Hence I have put it into an Otterbox Defender series case to protect the phone since one fall on the floor will kill the phone.
The build quality of Droid Maxx is just like any other phone in the market perhaps.
But there are positives for sure.
1. The LCD has no bleeding, which I feel speaks of good quality.
2. The speaker has good volume and great quality (for music lovers)
3. The battery is awesome. For my limited use, it easily goes to the end of third day for me.
The Otterbox Defender adds a lot of bulk and the inbuilt screen protector reduces the touch sensitivity significantly (especially the virtual buttons).
But since I wish to use the phone for three more years, I think this is the price I have to pay for the beast.
I also bought a used Razr HD Maxx XT926 for my dad last year. The phone is really nice (and the 4.4.2 update is like the icing on the cake).
Luckily I have bootloader unlocked on that one, so I can retain control for a long time.

Is it worth the switch?

Hey guys, I was a longtime nexus user, used only nexus phones up until the Nexus 5, at which point I switched to the Moto X 2014. I recently got a Moto X Style back in October and was loving it at first, but it has a lot of issues like screen bleed, charging port issues, and Motorola's customer service has gone to **** lately, they want to charge me 25$ to do an RMA.
I'm considering buying the 6p and I'm just asking for opinions, do you feel it is superior to the Style, and how so? Give me a good reason to drop 550$ on another phone in less than 4 months haha.

If you can't justify the purchase on your own, then you're wasting your time.
It's a great phone, buttery smooth, no issues, ROM support and just a smooth phone overall. All stock bonuses.

OMG This phone rocks on a Verizon net work. NO problem phone is well worth it. Only if you like rooting and such.

Great device all the way on XDA! But u will have to make the decision....

I think the N6P is better than any Moto phone. From all my experience with Moto phones, the bootloaders are always locked and cannot be unlocked on Verizon or without voiding warranty. They force you to get a code from them to unlock it, and that is how they know and void your warranty. The newer phones may be different, but this is the struggle I went through with them. After I went Nexus and NEVER went back.

Any regrets purchasing OP2 - Fixing to pull the trigger

I've been studying various phones over the last 2 months going crazy choosing a phone $300 or less that's best for me. The line between $200 to $300 is huge on androids. 2-3 GB ram usually and a 600-800 snapdragon with most being the 615. So of course my stop is at the OP3. I had other phones in mind like Honor 5X, Nexus 5x, zenfone 2 variants, droid maxx (2014) and so on. Lack of development and potential mods left me from other choices. Every phone lacks a feature and some have features. For this price there is no perfect phone. So I'm asking guys who made the choice to this phone. Are there regrets vs the $300 or less options?

how i wish it has wireless charging and fast charging and it'll be a perfect Phone for me. but i guess OnePlus didnt add that to the OP2 so that you'll buy the OP3

I've never found or had a "perfect" phone. I got this OP2 a couple weeks ago, worked great with stock firmware (update came out same day i got the phone lol). I have issues with my Pioneer head unit playing media audio, but other BT devices work for it so I'm not sure what the problem is there.
I flashed AOSPA on the device and it runs great, same BT issue as stock firmware.
Here's things I've noted:
- 4gb ram for the price
- 64gb storage isn't bad, meets my needs but not expandable.
- It charges in 1 1/2 - 2 hours with the included charger & cable, which is "okay".
- Fingerprint sensor works very quickly, I hear after that update it works better then most devices.
- Very sturdy design with the metal (and sandstone back = no slip!), but it is heavier then my old LG G3. Not sure if I'll be able to magnet mount it in my car yet.
- 1080p screen doesn't look any different then the 1440p i had on the G3, good color balance.
I think it is a good purchase for the price!

At this point, the OP2 seems like a great device to me. Though, I will suggests that you also look at the Moto X Pure. You really can't go wrong with either of them though!

The Pure is the same price as the OP2 but with 16GB internal or $349 for 32 and $399 for 64GB which is a little out of my price range. My max is $300 and from Amazon I get a 10% discount being an employee
This will be a at&t US carrier who I will be switching to. Boost is my current carrier and Verizon before that. In 2015 I remember issues with One Plus on at&t. Have those issues been addressed. I guess I'll be getting the sim kit from at&t and doing my hookup through the internet hopefully

Well, I'm currently using my OP2 on AT&T and have never had a single issue with it!

The only complain about my op2 is the finger print sensor not working I think problem it's humidity

I have plenty of regrets; but I'll keep to just bashing their customer service.
I have had to contact customer service twice now and I will take you through it step by step.
first time about 4 months ago my phone started acting up (less then six months after i bought it); all three buttons on the front stopped working, the screen could no longer auto adjust the brightness, for some reason the battery drained absurdly quick and the phone overheated. after about a week of jumping through a few hoops to prove tho phone had actually broken down and I wasn't just whining I got to send my phone for repair.
the first thing you'll notice is that they don't get back to you with status updates (except for trying to close your ticket due to inactivity every few days) so you have to ask all the time whats happening. two weeks after I sent them my phone I finally get an answer saying they repaired my phone and will send it back and they gave me a tracking number.
when I looked up that tracking number it turned out the phone had already been in my home town at the ups facility for four days, so just because they didn't feel like sending me updates I spent four more days then I had to without my phone. so not the worst customer experience I ever had but still not very good.
fast track forward to about two weeks ago.
the phone breaks down again, this time I can't make or receive neither phone calls or text messages and the 4g/3g internet connection stopped working. I try two separate sim cards in the phone and none of them work, I try my sim in my girlfriends phone and there it works fine, so it's definitely the OP2 that broke down.
so I open a ticket with Oneplus, the same thing happens this time with absolutely no contact from them, I have to nag and contact them over and over just to know whats going on, no one from Oneplus ever sends an update. and this time it's worse because now they haven't even gotten to the point where I send them my phone, its been over a week since I opened the ticket and NOTHING has happened like literally nothing, it's as if I haven't even opened a ticket. and this is very annoying because I had to borrow an ancient piece of **** replacement phone i the meantime.
it is really starting to look like I might have to buy a new phone from someone else because they can't seem to fix their broken piece of ****.
TL;DR
so I guess my tip to anyone who's is thinking of buying anything from Oneplus is : don't. even though yes the phone is great, its quick and easy and fabulous in many ways but if it breaks down (which it seems like a lot of them do), you might as well just buy a new phone because the customer service is horrid.

Good Community Support (future proof)
Great Camera and battery life
Almost stock experience
These are my choices:
Nexus 5x
OnePlus 2
Redmi Note 3 Pro
and now the OnePlus 3.
The nexus 5x is very affordable now but what holds me back from getting it was the 2gb ram and no dual sim capability, as I become lazy now to bring 2 phones and I used only small body bag going to work. and for the 1+2 I've read some issues like the dead home buttons and no fast charging support.
