3 replacement phones? - Droid Incredible General

I've got an incredible, unrooted, and I'm working on my 3rd replacement in 2 weeks now. The last one, would do the shutdown then 5 vibrates for no reason at random times, started when I got the phone. What is the replacement phone for the incredible? Or does verizon even do this.

Hard to say what a replacement will be. My wife got vzw to replace her Droid 1 w/ a Droid X after her 3rd phone went bad. Some people are getting Inc 2s from Asurion

My friends got droid x from Verizon for a dinc.

I got another inc after one replacement. I used best buy mobile black tie warranty

I know someone with the same problem. Think just after the 2nd one she got a Droid X from verizon.

i have herd people getting droid x2 and incredible 2 and droid x and there have been at least 2 thunderbolts... i believe the x2 and thunderbolt they had to pay the difference on the phone it was like 100-200...
Also last i herd they were out of incredible 1s and thus can't give you a new one anymore... I also herd they were out of droid x.

I would REQUEST a DI2.

This thread is too funny...your manufacture warranty is on that device..there is no magic number to get a different device

Hero vs. Droid 2

Hey guys, just wanted some opinions here . I currently have a Hero running Froyo and was thinking about buying my contract out with nTelos and going with Verizon . At any rate, I can get the Droid 2 free with new contract or the Incredible free with a two year contract . That said , do you all think it's worth the change ? Are the phones really that much different ?
I came from a Hero running Froyo to the Droid2. I've also played around the the Incredible. The Droid2 and Incredible are hands down better than the Hero. You will instantly notice the difference...on the bootanimation/loadup. The Incredible/Droid2 is a different subject. Read some of the other posts about that decision though
first, where did you get it free??? I just upgraded from a kaosfroyo v36 eris(hero) to a droid 2 and just rooted it today. I instantly fell in love.

(Q)Droid 2 original to droid 2 global .....

Hi guys just out of curiosity.... I bought my droid 2 for 200 in september.. now they got rid of the og droid 2s and are coming out with d2 global.....-_- I still am paying for the protection plan and was wondering is there anyway to obtain the d2 global without a freaking termination fee? Lets say my phone breaks are they going to replace the phone with a d2 global??
Sent from my DROID2 using Tapatalk
Probably not seeing as its not the same phone. Maybe if you do the whole replace it three times and then we'll cave in thing, but they probably won't just swap it.
You would probably have to do the replacement over and over, but other than that it doesn't look like it because they still have a whole bunch of OG Droid 2's left.

ah....well, thats a bummer...i guess i will just stick with the og droid 2. Having the option to swap sim cards when the contract is done would have been awesome.

Verizon activation question. I have a friend that is selling me a Droid 2. I have a Droid 1 with a two year contract. Can I turn off my Droid 1 and activate the Droid 2 (same number as Droid 1) without telling Verizon? do they have to know?

Yes you definitely can. Just power off your Droid 1, dial *228 from the Droid 2. It will ask you to enter the phone number you want to activate on the Droid 2. Type it in. It will then ask you for your account password. Type it in. It will play music for about 45 seconds while it activates. Voila! I just dis this last week and it took about 2 mins max, worked like a charm, and I didn't even have to bother with a rep.

termination fees have nothing to do with the phone, termination is termating your PLAN. not your phone.

True. Sometimes if you got in on some "deal" with your phone though, they can charge you or deny rebates if you switch to another phone too soon.

Thank you

I would like to take the time and say thank you to everyone with my Droid Incredible. I have been using Nile's rom for the last four months. I love his work and all the help from everyone. Today my Incredible battery took a Sh!t on me. So I went into a Verizon store today because my phone is only 10 months old and is still under warranty. First I waiting 2 and 1/2 hours in the store because of the Iphone sale. After waiting and the tech checking my battery, he told me that Verizon and HTC could not get me a new battery, after he made a few calls (and he called HTC and Verizon Warehouse).I'm up for upgrade but I'm waiting for the Nexus Prime or HTC Vigor. I had to tell them no 4 times on the Iphone with a $50.00 off the price because of no battery for the Incredible and still under warranty. So they gave me a free Incredible 2 with no new contract and still have my upgrade (if I un-rooted my phone per the store manager LOL). I've had 7 cell phones and the Incredible was by far the best phone I ever had. Everyone on the Incredible forum has been very helpful and fun. I'm not the chat type of guy and only posted a few times when I had a question. So thank you and keep the Incredible alive for the next few years!!!!!!

Asurion Replacing 1st gen moto x with new 2014

so both me and my brother have gotten new 2014 Moto X's from asurion as replacements for our OG ones. Asurion says the first gen moto x has been discontinued. You can also get your custom one replaced if you have them transfer you to the in store replacement/corporate services department. these guys are the only ones that can order brand new custom moto x's from motorola. you heard right, not a refurb, a new phone made to order. they use the moto maker site.
i was able to grab a new leather version and my brother got a wood version. $100 deductible and a brand new upgrade

Like a brand new 2013 moto x, or just a 2014 one?

the new gen 2 moto x. the bigger better one.
How did you go about making this happen? My 2013 is starting to crop up some issues, so if I can get a replacement (upgrade), I'd love to.
well if you have asurion as your insurance then it's easy. fist you gotta "lose" or "break" your phone. then call asurion on the phone, start a claim and they should inform you that your device is no longer made and that you will be getting a gen 2 moto x in black or white. if you had a custom moto x from last year, then there is an extra step you need to do to get a custom one. request to speak to the in store replacement/ corporate services department. this step is a pain because the people on the front line have little knowledge, but just get them to transfer you to them and they are much more helpful.
I predict a high insurance fraud activity level coming. ?
definitely not encouraging fraud. i've never used my insurance in 6 years.

Your wording here is contradictory.
I'm not a fan of doing things the wrong way. I hope that people don't commit insurance fraud over this. The main takeaway that people should get from your posts is that, should their custom Moto X need replacement via insurance, the customer should ask to be redirected to a specific line to get a Moto Maker replacement as opposed to just a black or white model.
Good thing I'm not wasting money on insurance, I'd be mad if they sent me a 2014 Moto X.

Having owned the 2013 moto x since November of last year and just buying the 2014 X, I'd rather keep my 2013 over the new one. So tomorrow I'm returning the new one.

Honestly, just the size of the phone and the feel in hand compared to the original one.

I've been wresting with upgrading to a larger phone and played with a new moto X in a Verizon store but it's hard to get a good feel with that security thing stuck on the back, and I felt the dimple was weird compared to the original

It was the same thing for me, I ended up pulling the trigger and got the phone. But I don't like the larger foot print off the device.

I'm loving the new one. It has a gorgeous screen, I still like the size of the old one but honestly the 2013 model is getting sluggish. The new one is the fastest phone I've ever used, its incredible
oh this is great, i just cracked my screen 2 days ago at work. I just got off the phone with them and they said i was getting the 2nd Gen Moto X. I was very surprised when the lady told me that. She asked for the colors my current Moto x(2013) was and she just replicated it to the new one. I don't mind a newer model, just hope the larger size doesn't turn me away.

I believe so. I got transferred once because it was the motomaker X and not the black or white one. The told me that they discontinued the OG and were giving me the 2 gen instead.
Only thing that i didn't like is that the Asurion people gave me a order # , but motorola cannot connect it to my gmail account. so to get the tracking info, I have to do a chat or call them. Asurion told me it would be delivered Nov. 2nd and motorola is telling me 2-4 weeks...
Edit: okay so i was jsut on the phone with motorola to see if i could get a tracking # just because. they were not allowed to provide me with any information because Asurion is the one who purchases the phone and send it to you. The said they had my Name for the order and my address correct and that the phone would be sent to ME, but they could not provide me with anything other than that. No time frame other than "Before 4 weeks" and he couldnt tell em anything else becasue Asurion is the billing address/name just and FYI

My brother was able to get the tracking number by simply giving the rep on the online chat the order number. May just keep trying till you get someone thats helpful. Did you get a 32gb? I've hears Motorola is having delays with 32gb.

Should I buy Droid Turbo 2

I am interesting in buy a Droid Turbo 2 and I know this phone 2 general issues(Not charging and Green line). I am not from US so I won't have warranty(just a 90 days warranty from seller).
I need to know if every Droid Turbo 2/Moto X Force has these issues or they were just the first batchs and if there is a way to avoid the issues.
Thanks
I bought the phone 3 weeks ago , and i have no warranty same as your situation , there is no issues with charging and no green lines , all is good with this phone , make sure the turbo charger comes with it , also you should know that this phone doesn't have root and it seems it will never do , so if you care about this thing you should reconsider , other wise this phone is rock solid device really great specs and the screen will never shutter , just make sure you get with it a screen protecter to avoid scratches since its not gorilla glass . battery is also great , i get around 6-7 hours onscreen time 2 days stand by time
If you're not from US buy Moto X Force. No bloatware, unlockable bootloader, rootable...

I bought DT2 in December, no issues at all so far.
BUT, as Zeljko1234 said, if I were you I would probably buy Moto X Force now. I decided to buy DT2 only because X Force wasn't available in Europe these days and I wanted this phone "now, now, now!" Droid Turbo 2 has issues with upgrading due to Verizon upgrade policy or rather lack of it.
I also bought my Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo 2 last December.
I really like the phone but the SLOW..... Verizon updates and no root available are 2 major negatives.
If I had it to do over again, I probably would have waited and bought a different phone, one that had root available. I really thought root would be available shortly after I bought it - boy was I wrong!
Moto x force here too UK and no warranty due to buying from Ebay but i am very happy with it meets all my needs especially battery wise. Iff your not from U.S you ought to go for the x force rather than DT2 like others have said no bloat and you can also root iff required.
