Dual E6683 on Marshmallow: I'm downgrading due to bugs - Xperia Z5 General

Hello everyone,
After one week of using Marshmallow on my E6683, I decided to go back to Lollipop, I can't take it anymore...
1. On 80% of my calls either my microphone doesn't work or my speaker doesn't work
2. I have data on the SIM card I did not selected for data and the one I selected doesn't have any data connection at all
3. When upgrading the do not disturb mode went to total silence, so my alarm didn't make any sound the next morning and I was late for work
4. It is not possible to choose a specific ringtone for a SIM card anymore
5. Stamina is gone
6. Waze crashes constantly
7. I do not see any benefit after upgrading

Good luck.

Cool story bro

Now camera in low light is verry crappy, more noise and less in detail

Have fun.

Wouldn't it make more sense to try a factory reset before down-grading? You're gonna have to wipe anyway... why not try it? I think it'd be fair to say the majority of users have been happy with MM.

Were you able to downgrade successfully?

Save it for your facebook page or something. This isn't a place for announcing pointless stuff like this. It's the equivalent of posting somewhere just to say you won't be posting anymore.

I partially agree, it should be shared in the other "Marshmallow Bug" threads instead of opening yet another one,
this slowly is getting difficult to keep an overview over the list of (possible) BUGs with MM

I found the Marshmallow bug thread to be a big mix between all kinds of errors and nothing pertaining to the dual sim model. Also I found that these issues with the dual sim were more blocking than the ones I read.
I tried the factory reset but it didn't change anything.
I was successful in downgrading using ftf E6683_32.0.A.6.209_R4B I found googling.
Now everything is working fine again (especially calling with sound lol )
Guess I will have to wait on the next upgrade for the dual sim model...

Hi OP
Mind posting a guide on how to downgrade?
Cheers

Why? Find the guide on flashing us in flashtool, follow it with the ftf of your choice in downgrading.
It's not like he had to do anything special, just flash the file.

Yeah I just followed the dummy guide for Flashtool and used the Malaysian FTF for Lollipop. Pretty easy.
After that I restored my backup and got everything back

Btw is anyone else experiencing the same problems as me?

I have the E6633 and it's only possible to choose one ringtone for both sim cards and not for each other. It worked at 5.1.1

MM sucks bigtime.
Battery is the worst.
Dual sim here.

i need some help... I flash to 5.1.1 from MM after reading this post, but i'm unlucky that after flashed to 5.1.1 i asked me for SIM network unlock PIN(my phone is sim lock free). what should i do with this? my phone now totally cannot get any network.

I9505 - No sound, no calls, no video

Hi,
I've had som rough weeks with my GS4 I9505. Hopefully some of you can help me.
I'm running CM11 nightlies, which was doing pretty great, until 3 weeks ago, where the media sound disappeared.
Well actually, I found out that the media sound WAS playing, but it was SUPER low. I had to put the volume at max and lay my ear directly on the speaker to hear it just a bit.
I read that a couple of others had the same problem, or at least I thought so, but now I tend more to think that my problem is/was hardware related.
Anyway, I tried flashing a lot of different firmwares, to match the bootloader and so on.
I am currently on:
Bootloader: I9505XXUFNB9
Baseband: I9505XXUFNB9
PDA/CSC: BLANK
The latest stock Samsung firmware I flashed, was: I9505XXUFNB9_I9505NEEFNB2_NEE
I am from Denmark and my phone is unbranded.
When I did that, the phone got VERY slow and wifi didn't work. Then I flashed CM11 again and wifi worked.
But now I am totally unable to make calls, it just freezes up and finally makes the call, but the call-speaker, media-speaker and microphone doesn't work.
When I try playing video (and some games) the specific app freezes and crashes too.
If I at least could get back to where my call-speaker/microphone worked and I had super-low audio I'd be ever so happy, 'cause then I can go and get a new media-speaker.
I hope someone can help me, otherwise I'll have to trash this phone, which I've been pretty happy to use for a while now.
Any pointers will do!
Thank you in advance.

But, as the bootloader and modem has changed, it still isn't working, sadly.

Hi mate , hi DeepankarS
Seem like two different problems here.....
the low volume may be a hardware problem , the speaker gone bad , if you can hear fine with your earphones i would say is a speaker problem...really easy to replace btw.
the other problems showed up after flashing so i asume they come from bad flashing........backup , also efs folder , do a factory reset and flash stock again.......what recovery you have ? the important thing is to leave the phone clean before you flash with Odin

Hi MAX 404
Yea, they started when flashing new bootloader and modem.
I'll try that in the morning (again) - It's quite late here.
I'm on Philz at the moment.
So, the phone should be totally clean before flashing with Odin? I don't think I did that last time actually
What firmware should I flash? The same as last time?

Well actually I don't know which one is the latest.
I'm from Denmark, which isn't listed on sammobile.com - Anyway, the last firmware I flashed was I9505XXUFNB9_I9505NEEFNB2_NEE
Should this be fine to try again (again...) or is there a new one for my phone?

Dowbload any october/september build without carrier locking.
AFAIK, there was this UK one of October. You can try that
Also there is an Ireland one without carrier locking
AND IF YOU ARE ROOTED AS OF NOW, BACKUP EFS BEFORE FLASHING.
Use a good rated efs backup app from the playstore.

Hi ,
you have two options , factory reset and clean to install a new rom , try them both
Also would not hurt to mounts and storage menu/ format data and /datamedia ( /sdcard) that is your internal SDcard so is really clean....but after that you need to have a custom rom in the externalSD or go to download mode and flash with odin ....
Same rom as before should be fine....or download it again just to make sure is ok
BAckup first!! efs folder also.

Should I try flashing this?

The only thing I'm worried about is this: CSC: I9505TSIGNG1, as it looks kinda branded to me.

Then your hardware is dead. You already had low sound.
Get a speaker replacement and google this
Galaxy s4 teardown ifixit.com amd follow the steps to fix your speaker. Hardly takes 10 minutes.
Edit : Wait sound as in no audio in all the speakers?

Easiest Root for N915G

So, I was going to use Cf-Auroroot like I have for every other Samsung device I've got but apparently there's an issue with it for the N915G.
What I did was put the latest super su file (i used v2.40) on my external SD card and then in Odin flash the latest TWRP recovery from here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-edge/general/easy-steps-stock-odin-n915tuvu1anjl-sm-t2943993 (you can also use the sd card fix from here too, flash in TWRP, just install supersu, then add another flash file and install the sd card fix).
Go to recovery mode and flash super su.
I found it had an error flashing cache but a factory reset fixed this so best done BEFORE setting everything up.
Let phone reset, set it up and you now have root access with a clean install of stock rom.
Happy days.
This worked fine for me and left out the step of flashing CF-Autoroot which wasn't needed.
You will still trip Knox.
I don't know if this will work flawlessly for you or for all models, especially if the bootloader is locked, but theoretically it should.
Good luck guys, happy flashing.
And HAPPY NEW YEAR...

You should not have many issues with 5.0.1. What you need to do after flashing the 5.0.1...you need to reset to factory setting. Im sure by now you know when upgrading..you still keep data from the kitkat. This may cause conflict and issues. At the moment the only issue i had is sometime i get that contact closed notifications. I have google this issue...seem like it happen to other phones to with early 5.0.1. For me im ok...cause it only happen very rarely...i hope a much later lollipop will fix this issues.

Possibly flashing the modem and non-HLOS.bin for AT&T.
I can't really say as I live in Oz and have no problems with voice calls...
I do find that my bars don't tend to go over 3 or more than halfway but that could be due to where I live and the crappy coverage we get here... No problem with voice calls though...
I am not sure if I can install SM-N915A modem on 915G.
Can someone confirm if that is possible, if so, what version?
tell me one thing is xposed framework and freedom app now working on note edge 915G lollipop
Nope. Better stick with Kitkat if you intend to use Freedom and Xposed.

Motorola X Play Wifi connect problem, random reboot

Hello everyone,
I was using my moto x play normally and I was surfing on the internet. Suddenly the device disconnected, I pick up my phone, disabled wifi, and re enable it, since that the device freezes and suddenly rebooted. Showed me a quick animation of moto bootanim and restarted.
When the phone booted up again, the moto shows me ''optimizing apps''. I have no idea what the problem is but it is no the fifth time that the moto did this problem. I have try everything like a hard reset and the provider had replace my battery, but with no results.
I have also filmed my problem if you want to see the video I can send you a link with the URL.

Is your phone rooted or has unlocked bootloader?
Sent from my XT1562 using Tapatalk
What does rooted and bootloader mean? I have never download some illegal software on my phone.
They're asking if you've unlocked the bootloader by getting the unlock code from Motorola, and then enabling root access.
Have you done a full factory reset or reflashed the firmware using your computer? The former is in the Settings -> Backup and Restore menu. You'll be wiping the phone and resetting all the settings to their defaults, to see if there's an application is crashing your phone.

[INSTALLED] SM-G935U over SM-G935T Firmware? What's so good about Un

Hello XDA Family
I recently flashed G935U Firmware *4API3 over G935T *4APIA, last night to be precise and right off the bat I must say that INDEED IT IS AND FEELS FASTER THAN STOCK *4APIA. You can just UNINSTALL instead of DISABLING bloat apps.
But other than the debloated firmware, what can we get about this Unlocked version? What is so good about it? Why SM-G935U over SM-G935T Firmware?
Pros & cons? Would you go back to stock?
Running September patch.
I'm still on APG1. Do you think it's safe to flash the API3 U firmware over it without taking t-mobiles PIA OTA?
I believe you would get the whitepages and tethering functions back.

this was too good too be true everything works great except for two issues that i see so far the major issue i have is that cant receive any incoming text messages non at all ....and the second issue is not too major for me but it might be for other people there is no video calling icon in the dialer so im assuming that video calling is not working other than those two issues i hate that i have to flash back tmobile firmware but i need to be able to text and receive text i even tried other messaging apps like hangouts and facebook messenger and whatsapp dont work i even tried out allo just to make sure even reset APN setting and reconnected to other towers in my area it all seems hopeless any other ideas are very much welcomed.

No question is dumb my friend.
I downloaded the SM-G935U TMO ....the one for T-Mobile as there is an UNLOCKED version for every US Carrier.
I heard AT&T and T-Mobile are so far the best firmwares of them all.
Try downlading the SM-G935U(ending with *4API3*)
1. Make sure you use the LATEST ODIN VERSION (3.12.3)
2. Latest SAMSUNG USB DRIVERS (v15.61)

Make sure you do a backup of what yoh currenty have, flash the G935U Firmware with ALL THE 4 FILES IN THEIR SLOTS.
After that, make sure to boot into recovery mode menu, wipe cache + data...reboot.
Try it.

I may try it again over the weekend.. So far since going back to the tm firmware ,my battery drain is gone.. battery life is superb once again. Thx for that info.. i flashed all 4 accordingly. Did not wipe cache + data.. that may have been the culprit.. we shall See..

If u had an iphone before u have to unlink ur phone number from imessage. Something like that happened to me that was not getting messages and that was the reason
Installed CSC as XAA variant, so far so good isnt laggy as tmo stock will report battery life after few days, text messages, data and calls are working fine.
Thank you OP
Maybe add the correct APN? for msg?

we have copies of the ODIN files for that version. I checked and we can still go back. Dont worry about updating.

I still have the original out of the box version file on my computer. I have updated my phone to the DE version. This is way different than the Note 5 firmware. I think I'm going to play with it this weekend to see if I can revert back to original stock though I'm not expecting a miracle. I'm hearing people can revert back but I'm not that interested in it until I need to be. I'm kind of disappointed that we don't have root and unlocked bootloader just yet but oh well. . it happens.
Bluetooth issues
I use my S8 with LG HBS1100 bluetooth headset and sometimes they disconnect... SOmetimes I can talk through whatsapp with the phone/speaker but not through bluetooth.
I also have the S8 connected to my Civic 2016 and it disconnect sometimes.
Tmobile signal/network is also very poor in some areas were I know are low but more noticeable.
I'm comparing these with my previous iphone 7+ S7 Edge and S8+.
I hope it improves with the update
I noticed my bluetooth acts wonky when I have any other wifi/bluetooth device active nearby. I did some testing with my work Iphone 7 and i get bad hickups in audio when its bluetooth or wifi is on in my car, when i turn it off, everything works fine.

I got the update and installed it. Hated it with a passion so i decided to flash the unlocked firmware onto my phone so i can avoid the stupid navbar 'improvement' and before i did flash it, i did make sure my phone was perm. Unlocked through t-mobiles network unlock so im set.

Yeah i did. I tried it out with someone's cricket SIM card and it worked on cricket like a charm. So in my opinion, it's worth flashing to unlock firmware after network unlock through the app.
