HTC Desire 816 [A5_ul] Android 6.0 Marshmallow is HERE !!! - Desire 816 General

Since HTC revealed the list of devices which will get the android 6.0 Marshmallow including the HTC Desire 816 and a lot of users (including me) are waiting for this update.
Well i'm glad to inform you guys that my Device received the update just now. The update is arriving in two parts, with the first being a smaller 66.44MB update to prepare your phone for Android 6.0, then a second 1.05GB update that’ll finish the upgrade process ( as you can see in the attached images).
Update is in progress...
Update is finished and my HTC Desire 816 is now running on 6.0 marshmallow with Sense 7.

Nice .... And i switched to Mi4c just 3 weeks ago.

Mind making a system pull and boot.img dump?
Boot in recovery and select mount and on your computer enter these commands
adb pull /system
and then just make a nandroid backup of boot ( uncompressed )

As i was reading before the update for the HTC Desire 816 should be in the second quarter of 2016, it's starting to roll for EU version i think it won't take long for other models and versions.

well my device is unrooted and i had nothing to loose but i think it's worth it yes if you check the Marshmallow features you'll think the same, i haven't used it much yet but i can see an improvement in battery consumption , i like the System UI Tuner, google settings app , RAM manager and microSD support wich is to use your MicroSD as an internal storage for the devices with low internal storage.

There is no problem with rooting I've done it just after installing the update.
New system seems more responsive - it was said somewhere that ram will be managed better.
I'll try to pull system in the evening as I'm in work now.

I've flashed 5.0.2 Ruu and then updated via OTA
Followed the guide here:

but I used another recovery as the one given there seems not to be stock.

KIW-L21 C432B130 (UK) full revert package

If you have modified your device, are still on Lollipop and you'd like to revert your UK device back to complete stock, then you can use this package.
Download the zip, extract and put on a microSD (preversing the dload/UPDATE.APP structure).
Turn off your device, plug it into a charger (but not a computer) then, with the microSD inserted, tap the power button while holding volume up and volume down. The update will apply and you will be back to bone stock B130. Your device WILL be wiped.

I couldn't use the existing L21 B130 ROMs available on my UK device so I assume there are sufficient differences preventing installation.
I've bought my device in germany from vmall.eu and have the same Build and Cust N° - I guess this rom is not just for UK.
BTW where did you get it?
The phone line isn't run by Honor themselves. The rom came from Honor UK. It was given out to people unable to flash the MM beta.
Yes, the latest Xposed supports Huawei now without deodex.

I guess L21 is completely European and there are no fifferences at all.
BTW, i got back to stock with this B130, got an update to B140 afterwards.

No,because I'm using B151 for some time and I will change when they come out MM
I believe, however, that the Finnish and the UK are at the same firmware
while the Russian firmware it's different and creates problems
Honestly, I would expect all 'C432' ROMs to be the same, but all I know is a lot of people have been having problems!

Just restart your phone it will be fine
i can't update my phone after downloading whole update while checking the package it shows corrupted file please download again.I already tried 4 times. any solution please???
Yeah same problem here .working on it
Well you can do it by doing a factory reset, then the update will be fine, but the update screwed up a lot of things in my phone, so I think you guys should wait a bit before updating, just my suggestion. If you can wait for the RUU (stock rom) to be available here. HTC aint like Sony, HTC is a nightmare for devs, hboot,unlock,s-off..., best part is S-off is available only paid and thats 25 bucks. If you have troubles booting up the MM then post here, If thats something I encountered I will help. I dont know is it my phone or OS or Hboot.., the temp choke restart degree is 60, and this phone gets 60 deg easily on a fresh install. Well anyway try waiting till the RUU arive. Rollback is not possible, that is the usual case, but I have flashed LP recovery fine on the same Hboot, Hboot ver seems same, well I'm new to HTC so dont know for sure.
Anyway if you have a restart issue when the screen is in "optimizing apps..." let me know.
Well about the OS, well.. doesnt seem to have much bug than what I said above.
After MM update(India) its good time to root 820u or just wait for HTC official future updates ?

Better wait till that 2 year deadline strikes, anyway root on desire 820 now doesn't seem to have that much advantage anyway (without S off) and since the user base is low the OTA update zips wont be here that fast neither will be ports,mods.., once 820's forum gets more devs... you can root it, its an easy task anyway. So my suggestion would be,- dont root unless its an absolute necessity now.
There might be a few small updates since Android 6 just hit the device, so wait a bit more, am quite sure we wont be getting the next OS, so let those bug fixes come through. And most of all let the stock rom hit xda.
Updated successfully.

Yes you're right.
But i wanted as a normal user to get access to this feature.
For now, i still cannot get any update and i got a funny answer from Honor support.
They told me that i have to go to Serbia if i wants to update my honor since i bought it there last year.
But i lives in africa now lol.
So the only remaining solution is the local update when i will finally find the right procedure.

The right procedure would be
Make a backup of all your data, contacts, apps etc using Huawei hisuite.
Download the firmware you want to upgrade to and extract to get UPDATE.APP
Copy it to a folder named dload in your SD card and press and hold power, Vol up and Vol down until phone boots up. Let go of power after booting but keep other two pressed for five six sec more.
It will do a forced upgrade and you will lose all your stuff. Boot into Android, update Huawei backup app and restore your backup using hisuite and you are done.
Hope it helps.
looks clear.
Thank you very much muradulislam
Still in beta. It's not a big of a change from lollipop
sorry folks but after reviewing all my experience with MM (B380) i recommend to update with Lollipop B180 (B190 if available) only!
With B380 it is possible, that you will get some trouble with it! At the moment, B380 was removed from the support side of HONOR!
Maybe it has a reason!

i own two Honor 7. I tried MM on one of them for four weeks. After this period, i have done a rollback to B190 Lollipop.
Since this moment, all my problems are gone! I could not believe, that HONOR will bring us an trouble-free version of MM.

Well as you can see, many Zenfone 2 Intel users are frustated for the delayed response of just a simple update(i meant MM Final), that already has been using by many other 2014 Smartphone variants since May(eg: Galaxy S5, Xperia Z3).
I'll be lying if i say i'm not waiting for MM update. but when i think that i had this phone for 15 months and or works really fine with lollipop and i know for a fact that they will release MM for it i know for sure that I'll keep using out for another year.

I can't seem to find an answer in the forum, so I'm asking here. Will it work directly from the notification if xposed and root are removed ? If not can i sideload it from adb into the twrp adb sideload ? If not can I just fastboot flash the recovery to be able to install it ? I don't really need to be unlocked on this phone anymore but I don't want to flash the raw firmware, because it's going to take a long time to reinstall everything and set everything up properly. So how am I supposed to do it ? Thanks

from my experience, yes you can.
as long you enable all system app(and have all system apps) to avoid any issues.
make sure you uninstall BusyBox first.

I read that i needed to edit the script file for TWRP to install it, do I still have to do it ? Thanks for the answer
It's weird. I am rooted and I took the OTA update. It gave an error when installing but it said it reverted to original configuration. Now when I check for updates, it shows no updates and I am still on 184. How can I take the OTA update again? I don't see the OTA update in the /cache folder either. Thank you.

[UPDATE] Dec 7th:
Officially confirmed B562 is the first stable version.
7th push was only to the registered B552 beta testers. Rest of B552 users will get OTA starting on the 8th, as well as limited number of users on B386.

Update steps gathered from the forum:
1. Download the B562 files.
2. Downgrade back to B368 or prior versions so you can request an OTA.
3. Let OTA download but don't install.
4. Find "HwOUC" folder on internal SD card and replace the "update.zip" and "update_data_full_all_cn.zip" with the two from B562.
5. Back to the OTA screen and let it install.
Great news, hope the dream comes true! It looks astonishing so might be great !
This will be a hard decision for us Mate 8 users... CM 13 by @_skypol0 or EMUI 5.0?

I'm watching a video that describes the features of EMUI 5.0, a large amount of them are already in CM-13.
Depends on person's tastes The most important is to have the choice IMO.
CM-14 for the Mate 8 is also in my furture plans. Just need to wait for Huawei.
That's good news. Now we are waiting for root!!!

When you said the 7th, is that the 7th of December?
Also, does it say if this release is international? I was looking at the thread but google translate doesn't say anything understandable....

7th of December. I believe only AL10 is on B552, and if this is a limited release it will first be pushed to those 10500 users who have officially registered for the B552. But I mean once the update is in the wild it's only a matter of time till someone releases the update file. Fingers crossed

I was thinking it would be an OTA update? Honestly EMUI is the best OS I have used on Android and it would be great to have an update.
I have an AL10, and OTAs are slow to push for my device.

Yes it will be OTA. This is the first phone I find rooting wasn't that necessary.

I have been using dload method since EMUI 4.1 because I couldn't wait for the push.
Do you still have the "HiCare" app? Go to the "update" section and you can sort of register your device to receive update. Sometimes it will pull the update right away.

So...does it mean, without thinking that the full update will be flashable on a NON ROOTED Mate 8, as mine, with "classical" Dload method ???? That would be great, but I don't want to launch on this unsecure process without being sure...So I will wait a little bit more...
So has anyone flashed it yet?
