Nexus 6p no 1440p 60 fps on YouTube? - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does YouTube allow 60fps at 1440p on mobile because I only get a max option of 1080p 60fps or regular 1440p.

Have you tried updating? Maybe the video isn't available at resolution above 720p
I have lates version and videos mostly 1080p /1440p on desktop computer I can watch same videos on nexus 7 1440p but not on note 4
Yep, Google has again done something to stop us viewing 1080P and 1440p videos.
I read in another thread on here that its something to do with Lollypop and Google are only enabling 1080p and 1440p on Lollypop

Camera FPS

Hello, reading over the press material they talk about the 4k and slow motion fps but no mention of 1080. Firstly does it record in 1080 and if so does it do 30 or 60 fps. I know the new moto x does 1080 at 60.

Not true, the 240fps was at 720p

Interesting. I must have found bad data. Wonder if it would be possible to push higher fps like 120fps to 1080p or even 480fps to 480p
My motto pure doesn't record at 60 fps in 1080p.
It appears that interestingly enough the 6p shoots 1080p @ 30 fps and 4k @ 30 fps and for slow motion 1080p @ 120 fps and 720p @ 240 fps.
[email protected] is pretty lame seeing as older devices can easily do 60fps. Hopefully the sensor is capable of 60fps and just needs a custom app or kernel to make it happen.
Pretty sure it's capable of 60fps seeing as it's capable of 240fps albeit at the lower res

I've seen multiple sources saying the 6P can do 120fps at 1080p, but if I select 120fps slowmo they come out in 720p, as does 240fps. BS or not?

YouTube 1080p 60fps

I have no option to play 1080p 60fps videos on YouTube.
Normal 1080 works fine .
Just realized this now that you mentioned it. 720p60 works great, but I rarely get the option to crank up to 1080p. And when I do, I can't watch 60 FPS on either resolution. Really odd.
I can play 1080p 60 fps on tube mate app

Youtube videos 1080p, 60 fps, HDR

S8 Exynos variant, I'm on latest software update (august patch), youtube videos at 1080p 60fps with HDR stutter on my phone. Sometimes the brightness goes down then up then down then up again and so on (HDR clips should keep the brightness all the way up I think). It seems to drop frames also, since I've watched the clips at 720p and I've seen the difference.
The clip I watched was on youtube's recommended smartphones page (S8 is on that page ...).
S8 Exynos variant is not optimized to handle HDR 60FPS High resolution content. It's just..... it can't.
The device is limited of what it can do actually, yes it can play HDR content but moving up to 1080p HDR 60fps and above, it will tear out the screen in youtube, that will make your eyes hurt.

The problem is with HDR movies only. I watched lots of movies at 1440p 60fps without problems. Also, youtube recognized my phone and 1080p HDR was the maximum choice at Resolution option (on PC it goes higher). If it can't play the movie at 1080p HDR the maximum resolution should be 720p HDR, right?

There is a big difference with videos that are HDR and NON-HDR content.
I can watch 60fps 1440p movies NON-HDR without problems.
But watching something that is 1080p HDR content will cause some stuttering and/or fragmentation that stresses our eyes.
S8 is not as good as S9 when it comes to HDR viewing. S9 is provisioned to be HDR ready in Netflix, but S8 is not.

Resolution on YouTube

Hi everyone, why i don't set resolution on YouTube higher fhd? For example 4k, any ideas?
Why would you need to play videos at a resolution higher than FHD? The screen is FHD and that's why you can't play videos at anything higher. That said, you can install YT Vanced and bypass the resolution checks and play it at 4k for example.
