Camera FPS - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, reading over the press material they talk about the 4k and slow motion fps but no mention of 1080. Firstly does it record in 1080 and if so does it do 30 or 60 fps. I know the new moto x does 1080 at 60.

60 FPS @ 1080p
120FPS @ 720P
240FPS @ 480P

Interesting. I must have found bad data. Wonder if it would be possible to push higher fps like 120fps to 1080p or even 480fps to 480p

My motto pure doesn't record at 60 fps in 1080p.

It appears that interestingly enough the 6p shoots 1080p @ 30 fps and 4k @ 30 fps and for slow motion 1080p @ 120 fps and 720p @ 240 fps.

[email protected] is pretty lame seeing as older devices can easily do 60fps. Hopefully the sensor is capable of 60fps and just needs a custom app or kernel to make it happen.

Pretty sure it's capable of 60fps seeing as it's capable of 240fps albeit at the lower res

I've seen multiple sources saying the 6P can do 120fps at 1080p, but if I select 120fps slowmo they come out in 720p, as does 240fps. BS or not?

Video recording in hd

Using the video recording in 720p I have found that the fps of these videos is 24 fps.
Anyone else have a higher fps when recording in 720p and if we can record at higher fps in 720p recording mode?

question, why would you want to unless your looking for slow motion video playback?
in answer to your question, no you cant, the camera driver is the limiting factor, same reason we cant take wide screen photos

I was able to get 720p going very smooth but 1080 not so smooth.
Ok thanks

Even on my laptop the 1080p video is intermittent. Audio is OK. 720p looks normal.
One point re Xoom is that the Xoom is basically 720p.

You are correct, Motorola does spec that it will play back 1080p, not 1080i which is one of the two broadcast standards in the US. The other standard being 720p.
MEDIA FORMATS Android core media formats
VIDEO RECORDING RESOLUTION (MAX) 720p HD (1280 x 720)
VIDEO RECORDING FRAME RATE 30 fps
VIDEO PLAYBACK RESOLUTION (MAX) 1080p HD (1920 x 1080)
VIDEO PLAYBACK FRAME RATE 30 fps
LOUDSPEAKER Stereo
The screen resolution on the Xoom is WXGA (1280 x 800) so the Xoom screen cannot display 1920 x 1080 directly without filtering.

Nexus 6p no 1440p 60 fps on YouTube?

Does YouTube allow 60fps at 1440p on mobile because I only get a max option of 1080p 60fps or regular 1440p.

Recording video in 24/25 fps

Hi, I shoot video with the stock camera app in 1080p 30fps HDR. Is there a way to force the app to record in 24/25 fps? Or is there any other app that records 1080p 24/25 fps HDR?
Why should you need 24 fps? These video are not converted from a 24 fps motion picture film, so there are no framing conversion problems that require a 1080p/24 video format.
25 fps: this is a PAL derived format, but all 1080p FullHD certified TV sets or monitors must accept both formats (30 and 25), and 30 is always better than 25...

Because I like the feel of 24 fps much better (if shot with 180 degree shutter, in this case 1/50). 30 fps looks kinda like a soap opera, but I really don't want to go into this, I know what I want, I just don't know if it's possible with the S7 Edge.
I've never seen a smartphone which is able to record 1080p/24 fps.
LG V10 does

I solved the issue by buying a proper video camera But you might try Filmic Pro.

YouTube 1080p 60fps

I have no option to play 1080p 60fps videos on YouTube.
Normal 1080 works fine .
Just realized this now that you mentioned it. 720p60 works great, but I rarely get the option to crank up to 1080p. And when I do, I can't watch 60 FPS on either resolution. Really odd.
I can play 1080p 60 fps on tube mate app
