Is the HTC Desire 510 compatible with Google Cardboard? - Google Cardboard

I want to make a Google Cardboard headset but I want to know if it will work with my phone? (Rooted HTC Desire 510 -Raptor Rom V2 ) Do I need to unroot and revert back to the stock rom? Has anyone with this phone tried Google Cardboard? If so how it's it? I just don't want waist my time building it just to find out it doesn't work. Thank you! And if anyone has any advice on this subject please do tell I'm all ears.

The 'imcardboard' site has a nice FAQs section for requirements. It says:
"Cardboard works with most modern Android phones. Phones need to be running Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) or above. Ideally they should support NFC too."

HTC Tatto Android 2???

Hi everyone,
I'm new to Android having got my HTC Tattoo during the week.
I'm wondering if there is any way to get Android 2 (Eclair) onto my Tattoo? I've googled for it but there's only instructions for the Hero.
I don't care if its a vanilla ROM without Sense UI. I'm just looking for an update to help improve battery life and bluetooth functionality (plus I like to have all the latest versions of things ).
I emailed HTC about it and they said they couldn't confirm if the Tattoo was getting the update (which probably means it won't...)
Also, I'd rather not use a buggy beta ROM .
Thanks in advance,
Keith
PS: I know people managed to get a V2 ROM onto the G1 by rooting but I presume it's differen for the Tattoo because the different screen size, addition of FM radio etc.

[Q] Recomended Android Ports For Telstra HD2 On AT&T

Which Android Rom would you recomend for my Telstra HD2 purchased from On The Go Solutions that will work with AT&T? I currenlty have a Nexus One build without Sense on my phone, but was wondering if this newer build MCCM SE 1.6 (HTC SENSE) Android 2.2.1 would work. If not, could someone recomend a better established well functionining rom with HTC Sense that I could use? If there are any roms that would allow me root access that'd be awesome too.
Not to be a jerk or anything but you jr members should pay attention this kinds of threads will get deleted by the mods for the question you ask is just an opinion and it can offend developers
Mate I know we all have to start somewhere and thats why we come to XDA, use the threads to search lots of devs put in alot of there own time into creating a great environment to further our devices ... if you want a great port use coredriod V_08 great battery and function if not search for one you like it doesnt take long to get them working.

What are the advantages of 2.3 ?
Just use Google ! -> http://lmgtfy.com/?q=android gingerbread advantages
hi
just for ur info it has already been very successfully ported on the HTC tattoo
and i have used the same everything was working fine but i did not see anything great about it but the tattoo is less powerful than our phone so all we need to do is wait for one our great developers to make it happen

Kitkat 4.4 for Desire HD??

It looks like the HTC desire HD situation has been changed a little bit. They dont say that DHD wont receive any updates anymore:
Please wait while we find an agent to assist you...
You have been connected to Tara.
Tara: Hi Johan, thank you for contacting HTC Support. How may I help you today?
Johan 9711: will the HTC Desire HD receive a update to android 4.4 kitkat?
This android version is made for old phones and low-end phones.
Tara: One moment please.
Tara: The HTC deisre HD is upgradeable to version 2.3 (Gingerbread)
Johan 9711: i know, but will it ever be updated to 4.4?
Tara: Unfortunately I can't provide you with future information as I don't know anything of this yet.
And the dutch chat the same answer.
Kitkat 4.4 is designed for older phones like DHD and Low-end devices.

Please don't start again this polemics. Is useless and I had enough. As an explanation to you HTC will never build again sense rom for the older devices and HTC is not Google to update Nexus devices with pure android.
Not to mention that even Google isn't updating the Galaxy Nexus, a phone newer than the HTC Desire HD. HTC is not going to update the DHD to 4.4.
It would be nice if they did though.
From the past
If your phone has not been updated in the past, it will not be updated now.
Yes, the 512MB comment is good but old devices are missing so much such as ARM instructions, drivers, companies that have went out of the mobile game (ti).....etc so many things.
It's safe to say, we're not getting 4.4 officially. Unofficially though is a different matter

That and other developers is your only chance to see 4.4 on this device.

This is a pointless duscussion and as you can easily see will only lead to trouble. Nothing you can say here will cahnge anything in HTC's decision. So leave it to the devs whether some see fit to do it...
