[Q] Android 2.3 on GT i 5800 ? - Galaxy 3 General

Android 2.3 on GT i 5800 ?

...is possible, but nobody has did it yet.

I think that we never don't see Android 2.3 on our phone :-/ If you want you must buy new phone....and Samsung get again our money

Just look over there http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1045224

What are the advantages of 2.3 ?

Just use Google ! -> http://lmgtfy.com/?q=android gingerbread advantages

hi
just for ur info it has already been very successfully ported on the HTC tattoo
and i have used the same everything was working fine but i did not see anything great about it but the tattoo is less powerful than our phone so all we need to do is wait for one our great developers to make it happen

Yes I think too : our developers will soon make us a 2.3 Rom

I hope developers to work on this please

Breaking news ! First windows 7 original rom is out !

It seems that the very first windows 7 rom is out ...it has appears here on xda and DA_g is already working on it..it seems that the first device to get the updates it will obviusly be the HD2...
Anyway I don't know what think, I'm not very impressed from windows phone 7, expecialy I don't want to lost manila..
here is the thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=681659
cool news!!
maybe our s200 chiefs get it running on our devices ;-)
We should make some kind of fund to interest some people to port it to acer since there aren't that much developers for the neotouch?
Or is Arto or brainmaster interested?
it's not so easy ...at the moment just do the dumpo is preatty difficoult...don't expect anythin in the mid-term...
I am interested in cooking WM7 for NeoTouch, so i will stay in touch and follow the development of ROM.
Now i am on vacation and be back in 2 Weeks.
I will stay tuned too on this but I dont expect to much the possibility of cooking that...
as for me until microsoft don't bring multitasking and third party app support I'm not very interested to that...if I wanna an embedded device I would have bought a nokia or something else...
by the way I have seen the multitasking of the palm pixi...and I have to say that it's very nice ! would be awsome to bring that interface on windows mobile.
You can seen in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bI5tLZH4nEY .arto what do you think ?
Getting wp7 on the acer s200 or any other qsd8xxxx platform device wont be as straight foward as it was getting 6.5 to our current devices, da-g has said it the devices will brick, jtag will be needed, and lots of other things will go wrong, wp7 wont be as easy as porting 6.5 to an arm7 device, this will require a lot of skill and luck and most of all time, i can bet my neck that we wont see a half working rom for atleast a year, hell maybe more, lets just be patient and hope that da_g can find a way to flash this new generation of rom's on to the current qsd8xxx platform devices.
I see, anyway as for me, until mocrosoft won't bring multitasking support and third party apps I'm not very interested in it ...

Hoping that microsoft will release WP7 soon......
Another 'let's donate to con-men' thread... Forget it, if you need an iPhone go buy it and be happy... I don't get why those people've bought a 'classic' WM smartphone if they want a thing similar to iPhone/ Android (which is in fact, a substitute/clone of an iPhone)

[Q] wm7 on x10??

Hi Guys
i have a question it is possiple to port wm7 to x10?
or givs there any roms??
PS: sorry for my bad english =(
We can't either upgrade android version (maybe we can but not in 'full mode') and web should be able to port Wm7 (that couldn't either be ported yet to HD2) to our X10's?
Obviously no, we cant, and moreover, i think we will never can
x10i is a bad phone
Do you think so? ok your opinion. Im proud as a hell of my x10.
Regarding the question:
Maybe one day it might be possible, but i wouldnt be sure. eg. iphone is in progress of transcription to android, so maybe android will be transcripted to wm7, why not?

I trink olso the x10 is an amazing phone
and Android 2.1 olso amazing but i think wm7 is from the designe better
and i would buy no wm7 Mobile because they look all agly
I hob that there were any devoper That make that possiple
The only thing tempting with wp7 for me is the xbox integration, would love to have that!
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
prolly the closest your gonna get
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=781455
i would think we might have a chance at porting wm7 to x10 when x7 is released and we have the rom for the x7... that would be ur best bet...
that'd be great but wonder if its possible
Until the bootloader is cracked (allowing us to install whatever ROMs we wish), it's pretty-much impossible we'd ever see any way of installing an alternate OS. Once the bootloader is cracked, if someone were to put forth the effort to port the OS and get things working, technically it should be possible.
My question though is: why?
I'm personally not convinced WP7 is worth anyone's time, especially since it's as closed as iOS. Mind as well get an iPhone.
Wp7 has minimum specs that x10 does not meet. It requires 512 MB ram

i will never ever back to windows even if i had a chance to.
i used almost all of windows versions and they all sucks and lags alot and have many bugs ... unlike android.
that my opinuin

[Q] Recomended Android Ports For Telstra HD2 On AT&T

Which Android Rom would you recomend for my Telstra HD2 purchased from On The Go Solutions that will work with AT&T? I currenlty have a Nexus One build without Sense on my phone, but was wondering if this newer build MCCM SE 1.6 (HTC SENSE) Android 2.2.1 would work. If not, could someone recomend a better established well functionining rom with HTC Sense that I could use? If there are any roms that would allow me root access that'd be awesome too.
Not to be a jerk or anything but you jr members should pay attention this kinds of threads will get deleted by the mods for the question you ask is just an opinion and it can offend developers
Mate I know we all have to start somewhere and thats why we come to XDA, use the threads to search lots of devs put in alot of there own time into creating a great environment to further our devices ... if you want a great port use coredriod V_08 great battery and function if not search for one you like it doesnt take long to get them working.

ICS or not ICS: that is the question

As in title, can we hope to see Ice Cream Sandwitch on our Tattoo sooner or later (maybe through CyanogenMod)? The Android team said that EVERY phone that had Gingerbread can have ICS: it's the same for the Tattoo or it's not doable due to the limited hardware (I also mean screen size)?

i really hope we can see this happen
but for now i think it's to early to say. high end phones have no info yet, so we gotta be very patient ICS source is not out yet...
so for now, we are happy that we have 2.3.7 which isn't on many high end devices
this is a nice read
http://www.androidcentral.com/ice-cream-sandwich-what-happens-next
We have to wait until Google releases the source-code. After that, we can see if our device will be able to run ICS
I have actually given up the hope to upgrade my tattoo further than 2.3.7, because I don't feel that my phone can use the new features in 4.0 so what's the point ^^ GPU Accelerated UI and better dual core support isn't very much for the tattoo. The ride with my tattoo has however been really nice, and it was a really good way to get introduced to android Galaxy Nexus here I come?

It's sad to say this, but I think you're right :')
Consider that the Nexus S is now almost the price I payed my tattoo 2 years ago: maybe it's time to switch in the near future...
In the meanwhile... ICS IS OUT IN THE WILD RIGHT NOW, GUYS!! So, let's see if there's some more juice to squeeze out from our little tattoo!

Great news!
lets keep waiting
The alpha build look slow on the G1. Hopefully some tweaking could cause performance improvements.

Hi Guys,
What do you think about this?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1511495
Looks like there's a chance to get ICS in our Tattoos
I have checked it yesterday.
stelios97 has ported it to both X10 mini and wildfire,
so there is very good chance that we can have ics miui for tattoo.
But then I wonder, is there any dev still holding a Tattoo to help us.
Would be really nice to have MIUI on our tattoo.
It would even be better than having ICS!

The other day I read that 2.3.7 source for MIUI was released
http://shrewdgeek.com/2012/02/04/xiaomi-makes-miui-gingerbread-2-3-7-open-source/
all we need is to get it compiled for ARM v6
Where are the developers for tattoo roms?
Arco? Kalimocho? rallapag? you've also done some ports, didn't you?
can someone port MIUI to our tattoo?
i don't know much about android rom development, but i think it wouldn't be much more work to port this miui rom than port some sense roms. a wildfire version is already available.
Its more some driver related things, i think
can someone try it please?
Hi .dot
You know, I am not a dev.
What ever I do, I am afraid it will be incomplete like my sense 2.3 rom port.
We need a real dev, unfortunately Arif-ali as well gave up working on Tattoo yesterday has indefinitely stopped android development.
ics
i really hope that there will be a new rom.cause i´m a little bored with my tattoo and the nfinity-rom. i hope that the dev will start to work on it..it would be fantastic!PLEASE
There you go guys,
A test version of CM9 is here for Tattoo

NAND for Photon -is Froyo 2.2 r175 *really* the last!?

Hi,
as I have my HD2 flashed today to 2.3.7 (because many serviced were shut down for WM6.5) I'd a look for my wife's HD mini (Photon) -A2SD is not really the best (and I'd many probs with different SDcards) because of the speed (and startup-time).
As I understand Froyo 2.2 (with some bugs) will be the final version for the Photon? If there are any causes like CPU-speed, RAM or anything else? I knew some people which like this phone because its tough, small, good accu-conditions and other gadgets. Or is it "only" a driver-problem?
I'm not a developer -is it such a problem to compile the code for the Photon? :-( Hope not -I dislike (absolutely!!) to waste such a good phone (serveral, as some friends will do it, too) just because of the OS is not longer supported and you get not longer apps for WM6.5.
Are there any projects (which can be supported?) to let the developement get running?
kind regards
i want nand too
is this true?
