HTC Tatto Android 2??? - Android Software Development

Hi everyone,
I'm new to Android having got my HTC Tattoo during the week.
I'm wondering if there is any way to get Android 2 (Eclair) onto my Tattoo? I've googled for it but there's only instructions for the Hero.
I don't care if its a vanilla ROM without Sense UI. I'm just looking for an update to help improve battery life and bluetooth functionality (plus I like to have all the latest versions of things ).
I emailed HTC about it and they said they couldn't confirm if the Tattoo was getting the update (which probably means it won't...)
Also, I'd rather not use a buggy beta ROM .
Thanks in advance,
Keith
PS: I know people managed to get a V2 ROM onto the G1 by rooting but I presume it's differen for the Tattoo because the different screen size, addition of FM radio etc.

I've tried to search for these question but I've not been successful
I just bought my first HTC, running WM6.1 after a very disappointing experience with the Samsung Jet, anyway enough about that.
I'm still coming to terms with the phone as there is a bit to learn and get used to but.....
1) Are there hidden menus accessible with codes? i.e. *#000# etc, those types.
2) I read about upgrading the ROM and it said about the phones firmware, I can't find it anywhere....help?!?!
3) The phone is great, but I'm a fan of eye candy on my phones so where do I start? I like the new HTC Sense UI on the HTC Desire phone, can I get it? Is it stable?
I think that is all for now. Thanks guys.

Noob to Android - Flashing Radios?

Hey guys. I'm not new to HTC phones. I have been on these forums a while. I have purchased a used mytouch 3g (32b) and have already rooted and installed cyonagenmod 6, 2.2 Froyo.
I have owned 3 HTC phones in the past all Windows mobile. (HTC Touch, Touch Diamond, and recently deceased Touch Diamond II) The TD2 was a great phone to me for 1.5yrs and am sorta missing it but glad it died cause it gave me a reason to buy an Android phone. Not one of my dream but still an android phone.
I was wondering if you have a thread or know of somewhere where radios have been compiled for downloading. I assume that like WinMo you can flash a different radio the same way with andriod. Am I correct?
My radio version currently is 2.22.19.26I and I'm haveing slow 3G loadtimes compared to my brothers HD2. With my Touch Diamond II I switched radios about 5 times till I got one that worked really well for calls and data.
Is there a newer version out there I can flash? Perhaps one from the new froyo updates T-Mo is sending out? Please help, I've tried to search a little but with no success. I work 7 days a week and am pressed on time. I don't even have time to make custom themes for myself like I used to in WinMo.

NAND for Photon -is Froyo 2.2 r175 *really* the last!?

Hi,
as I have my HD2 flashed today to 2.3.7 (because many serviced were shut down for WM6.5) I'd a look for my wife's HD mini (Photon) -A2SD is not really the best (and I'd many probs with different SDcards) because of the speed (and startup-time).
As I understand Froyo 2.2 (with some bugs) will be the final version for the Photon? If there are any causes like CPU-speed, RAM or anything else? I knew some people which like this phone because its tough, small, good accu-conditions and other gadgets. Or is it "only" a driver-problem?
I'm not a developer -is it such a problem to compile the code for the Photon? :-( Hope not -I dislike (absolutely!!) to waste such a good phone (serveral, as some friends will do it, too) just because of the OS is not longer supported and you get not longer apps for WM6.5.
Are there any projects (which can be supported?) to let the developement get running?
kind regards
i want nand too
is this true?

[Q] Thinking about the HD2, opinions?

Hello everyone, I just recently lost my phone and im officially back on the market for a new smartphone. I was wondering what everyone thinks about the HTC HD2. I haven't seen any good reviews on youtube--at least not specifically running on Android... Can anyone give me some input?
HTC HD2 originally runs on Windows (which im not used to) but it seems pretty similar to android according to some youtube videos [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=neQ_iFf4s2Y]
So what do you guys think? If I do get the HD2.. should I flash it to ICS? Jellybean? Gingerbread? Or just stick with the windows? And if I do flash it.. does it compromise the speed?
Thank you for your help!

Depending of the price you are going to buy one, this is still the greatest phone made by HTC.
You can flash whatever rom you want, ICS and JB run smooth.
The HD2 is THE allrounder smartphone ever made
Great Hardware and open for multple Operating System
You should flash android anyway
There are very good ICS and JB roms out there
I for myself sticked to GB roms (MIUI GB Version most of the time i had one) because the camera was running much better
then in the ICS or JB roms and that never got fixed.
Its a great phone
Here in Hamburg / Germany the phone cost between 120€ and 200 € depending on its condition
Hope that helps you

The HD2 supports a wide variety of operating systems: Windows Mobile 6.5, Windows Phone 7, all versions of Android, Ubuntu, Maemo... If you like wasting time flashing your phone, then the HD2 is definitely the best choice.
The most stable Android builds so far are still the Gingerbread ones, but JB is not bad either. Developer interest for the HD2 is slowly decreasing, but there are still a few builds out there that get regular updates.

if you are capable of a slightly-more-technical-than-most-phones flashing process, and want a technical toy with roms and options and possibilities that may or may not be running 100% correctly, may have a glitch or two here and there, but gives you as much freedom as you can cope with, then get a HD2.
As to what you should flash, , flash everything, if you like a rom, use it, if you don't, change it.
If you want a 100% android phone and are only interested in maybe skinning up a rom, changing icons, installing apps, then get an android phone.
The HD2 has great xda support, it really is one of the best. However, I would not consider the HD2 unless you could get it for really cheap
HD2 Pros
Great xda support with tons of different OS
No really, I will only buy Nexus phones now because i was spoiled on how great the support was for the HD2... It seemed no other phones reached the level of HD2 (for andriod)
HD2 Cons:
Hardware buttons do not last very long (~year) and I much prefer software/touch buttons.
Outdated hardware. EX: Galaxy Nexus is much faster/refined
Other issues that may or may not have been fixed since i last used the HD2:
Corrupt blocks causing random crashes
Bad Multi-touch (sucks for games)
Battery life kinda sucked

Any custom rom for HTC Desire 650?

I have an HTC phone called desire 650. It has stock android 6.0 and I really want to upgrade to nougat at least. The problem with this is that, even tho this phone was really good at its price, I CANT find any custom roms for it or anything. Is there a way to upgrade to newer versions of android like this? Im kinda new to this Rom-stuff so i dont really know anything about these. Reply asap please! <3
edit: i forgot to mention that htc doesnt give out software upgrades to this phone, so the thing in the setting doesnt work.
