Gear VR Consumer Edition Problems with Galaxy S6 Edge+ (AT&T Variant) - Galaxy S6 Edge+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I bought my Gear VR from BestBuy on 6th of this month and since the day I've plugged in my S6 Edge+, I'm having the following issues randomly:-
- My phone's Home button and Multi Window button stops working randomly sometimes after disconnecting the phone from VR Headset (double click home button to launch camera works fine though). The weirdest part is, when I restart my phone, the buttons start working again and upon pressing the Multi Window button, all the recent apps (that were opened before restarting the phone) appears as if they are running in background. So basically, restarting didn't kill any of the apps.
- Sometimes the Oculus App wouldn't start (the connection sound comes fine) and I'll see black screen (turned on) (rare case)
- Twice I have got voice message to disconnect my phone and reconnect after unlocking it. My phone was already unlocked and no matter how many times I disconnect and reconnect, the voice just keeps repeating this unless I restart the phone
Did any of you encounter such issues since you started using Gear VR. Also, please mention which version of VR and Device are you guys using. I'll really appreciate your responses.

Looks like nobody else had this issue. I'll try getting the VR set replaced if its in stock!

[Q] Screen Turns On Randomly

Hi. I'm having an issue with my Verizon S5 where the screen turns on randomly, sometimes a few times a minute, for no apparent reason. Researching the issue, I found a lot of people said the reason they found was that the charge port was bent slightly and after bending it back it fixed the issue. They noticed the screen would behave when it was plugged in because all the connections were forced into their proper places by the charger. However, mine turns on and off regardless of whether or not it is plugged in. I downloaded Wakelock Detector to try to see if there were any apps forcing my screen to wake up but it only listed a couple apps and processes and, combined, they didn't come anywhere near the number of times my screen was woken up. Interestingly, the same day I noticed this problem, my home button also stopped working. It will not turn on the screen when off and it will not bring me to the home screen when the screen is on. I thought maybe it was occasionally functioning, causing my screen to turn on. However, I have never experienced the opposite issue; I have never been using my phone with the screen on and had it suddenly bring me to the home screen. Also, oddly my screen does not have this issue when I am playing music either through the speaker or via bluetooth. If I have music playing, the screen never turns on randomly. If I pause my music, the issue returns and my screen turns on randomly unless I resume my music.
The fact that it doesn't do it while playing music (either over bluetooth or through the speaker) means it must be a software issue rather than a hardware issue. The fact that my home button stopped working at the same time seems to make it seem like a hardware issue but maybe my home button not functioning and my screen turning on and off randomly are both part of the same software issue? I have attached a screenshot of my current version of Android and other details.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Generally, I'd recommend a factory reset just to make sure whether it is or not a software issue.
If the issue is not solved, return the phone.

I was able to fix the problem so I thought I might as well share. I replaced the circuit board that goes under the home button (cost about 10 bucks lol). This is not the home button and cable itself. If you disassemble the S5 to the point where you can see the motherboard, the circuit board at the bottom with the charge port, capacitive buttons, and home button contact is the one I replaced. Hope this helps others with similar issues get working in the right direction. Be very careful disassembling your S5 if you decide to try this route.

S7E software problems or lag?

Anyone else having any glitches, lag, strange behavior, etc. I don't know if it's just me but my s6e+ seemed to run a little smoother on LP than new s7e on MM.
issues I have with mine:
After reboot the keypad for entering pin has input lag and sometimes erases
The notification bar will open blank when I have notification and then close and re open with notifications, sometimes it will open and phone will freeze for 3-4 seconds
If I am listening to music over Bluetooth in my car and I compose a text message and attach a picture, it cuts off my music and I have to press play again.
Hopefully we get another OTA soon that fixes some of this. Anybody else having issues?
keypad lag after reboot might had to do with system still loading; if i immediately enter pin after reboot, it lags like no tomorrow, but if i let it sit for a minute or so, everything is smoother, but still not as smooth as normal
notification bar issue happened to me once, but thats after an app crashed; it went away after i force closed the misbehaving app from usage manager
it also randomly cut off my music, but i even have it happened when my screen is off, but only on wired headset, never on my BT headphone
It doesn't like my left thumbprint only my right even though I've redone it once already.
Sometimes if I am trying to type it randomly goes to the lockscreen and I have to unlock my device again.
I can test the bluetooth MMS issue (if I remember) later.
Also the Do Not Disturb settings do not work whatsoever, I have to manually turn it on and off from the quick settings bar.
I almost wish I'd waited for the G5 to drop this week...
The g5 doesn't really appeal to me, now the m10 is looking nice but I'm overall satisfied for now. I think/hope after the next ota all the bugs are worked out. I really should've held on to s6e+ until note 6 but the sd card and water resistance got me lol

Screen randomly stays blank after hitting power button N900

I've got a strange problem with my Sprint Galaxy Note 3.
What's happening is that randomly when I hit the power to turn the screen back on, it will do nothing then the screen will stay blank. The phone clearly still works because if I'm on a call or listening to music it will still keep playing and the volume and other buttons continue to work.
When that happens I hold down the power to turn the phone off and then on and it boots up normally.
Rarely what will happen is the same behavior except the screen will go strangely green after I hit the power button, making the phone unusable until an off/on.
This happens sometimes multiple times a day, sometimes days without happening.
Phone is rooted, running OC5 on Android 5.0. Problem has been happening for months. Haven't made any system upgrades or installed any major apps so that isn't it. I'm thinking it is some kind of loose pin/wire but don't want to crack the phone open without a plan.
Any help appreciated!

Multiple issues with my device?

I purchased my S8 directly from T-Mobile today. So when I left the store and started using it more, I realized that it had a few bugs. Before and after the OTA(that was immediately found on my phone to download and install), and even after a factory reset.
First I'm experiencing that the Android/Google pre installed notepad or memo, is completely missing from the device. Completely searching the phone, and even going into the Android OS application settings. Also, even having Samsung do a remote screen share via technical support on the phone, and the Tutor app. Even they couldn't even find it.
Second I'm the type of person that doesn't like any type of vibration on my phone. So I turn off all the vibration in the Android OS settings, even for calls. But for some reason the touch screen home button has some type of forced/haptic vibrate. This happens on any screen, including when the screen is off and I'm clicking the touch screen home button to wake up to screen to use the device. Is this even normal, for only the touch screen home button to make some type of vibration(more specifically, some type of forced/haptic vibrate), when you have all the vibration settings that can be turned on and off in the Android OS settings completely turned off?
Then lastly, I'm having a problem with Google Voice to Text, and Bixby voice to text. What happens is, if I turn off Bixby voice to text in the Android OS settings. So I can use Google Voice to Text. But every few minutes, Bixby turns itself on, and is automatically the default voice to text. Then when I go into the Android OS settings, it appears that the circle turns blue indicating that it was on period when I clearly turned Bixby Voice to Text off in the Android OS settings.
What should I do? Should I return the device and get a replacement immediately. I got it from my carrier this morning at there corporate store. They had a bunch in stock, and when I was there UPS even delived more to the store. I even contacted Samsung, all they can tell me was to send my phone in and leave my phone there for a minimum of two weeks and remain completely with out a phone. Which is absurd, after purchasing a new phone and only owning the device 3-4 hours maximum!
Just an update, I went back to T-mobile, after speaking to booth Samsung and T-mobile and exchanged my S8. But still the problems persist on the new exchanged S8. Also, this time around it has gotten worst, because this time around I was unable to even Smart Switch the Memo files. Because on my old Galaxy I was at least able to transfer my Android/Google memos to the 1st S8. But from the returned S8 to the new exchanged S8, I was unable to do so. It was not even an option at all(greyed out or selectable)
I don't think any of these are problems? First it's Samsung notes that is presinstalled second just download a note app. Second the home button has its own vibration setting and their are apps to further customize, I have mine on a super short vibration and changed navigation keys to stay perma black even when keyboard open with an app. Lastly the bixby voice is disabled until they fix it. By default the phone uses Samsung voice but you can enable google voice or get another keyboard. Also don't forget Android is customizable but may have to use an app for it.
I have blacked out my phone, use navbar apps, and use google keyboard.

Galaxy S8 vibration cuts out

I'm on my second S8 with the same issue, I replaced the first one due to a cracked screen. Samsung support can't help me, as all they did was remote into my phone and turn my ringer from sound to vibrate and reenabled all the bloat I disabled before I cut off the remote, then asked if I'd like to fill out a survey on their customer service... So anyways I haven't made a connection to a specific action causing it, it seems random, all vibration will just cuts out, but the phone behaves like everything is still working, nothing is greyed out I can turn the volume up and down, mess with vibration settings etc, it just doesn't vibrate. Sometimes it'll come back if I leave it alone for a few hours, but it'll always come back after a restart. Anybody having a similar issue?
p.s. also while I'm here anybody have issues with YouTube stuttering? Both my S8s do that too
