[Official Lollipop 5.1.1] P600 DOJ3 (Mega & Android File Host) Fast Link + Easy Root
Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 (Wi-Fi) (SM-P600) from region PHE!
Firmware Version Info
(PDA: P600XXUDOJ3 CSC: P600OXADOJ3 CHANGELIST: 6086244 BUILD DATE: 23.10.2015)
It's not rooted and is untoched. It's completely stock!!!
I know others have made posts but they all use ****ty servers. I have uploaded this to Mega and Android File Host as they are both faster and more stable then pony Samsung's crappy servers.
When you flash rom with the setup as in picture it will flash over your previous rom and keep all data and apps and settings.
For maximum stability i recommend after first boot you do factory reset.

Easy Guide to Root :
1. Go to Rooting Guide - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=63637426
Download only the P600 modded boot IMG and then come back here. Move the tar to tablet. "In my opinion that guide is very confusing" This is much more simple...
2. Go to TWRP - https://dl.twrp.me/lt03wifiue/
Download the img.tar This file you keep on pc to flash via Odin.
3. Go to SuperSU v2.52 Beta - https://download.chainfire.eu/743/Su...erSU-v2.52.zip
Download the zip. Move the zip to tablet.
4. Reboot the tablet into download mode and open Odin on the PC then connect the tablet to PC. In Odin click AP tab and locate the TWRP and uncheck Auto-Reboot then hit start. When done hold the power button + vol up button "the vol button furthest from power button" + home button til you see red writing on top right hand corner. This can take a while so don't panic just wait.

}
5. When finished booting into TWRP pull Spen and click Install then find modded boot img "remember to switch between IMG & ZIP mode in the lower left hand corner" Now flash the boot img. Do not reboot just go back and switch back to ZIP mode and flash SuperSU when done reboot.
6. Wait for the boot to finish. You are now rooted.
I hope this makes it easy for you!!!

Thank you. And did you root it successfully? I cannot flash a twrp.

What about region
Whats the difference if my region is not this and i update?

Thank you for links. I wonder what if I install it over 4.3 instead of 4.4.2. Is there any difference?

Not yet I will wait a few days to do anything as I just want to see how it works and the battery life on stock. Then I will root and remove many system bloatware apps and see the difference.

This is the Spanish region but I live in UK and at the very first setup screen I chose UK language so it don't really matter about the region as there is no modem. This device is just WiFi so region makes no difference.

You are welcome. Well I flashed this over a custom rom Hyperdrive 4.4.2 and then once it booted I then factory reset it. Before I factory reset the device it was fine I just like the fresness of roms.
So the answer to your question is I don't know but I don't think it will make a difference as the bootloader is in the rom and will be flashed automatically with the rom. I came from 4.4.2 so I cannot speak about 4.3 but I assume it will be the same result.

Thank you so much for taking time to write each step in details. This made life so easier. You are right the other guide is little complicated. I was not aware that touch does not work in twrp also was not unchecking auto root. But then I came across your guide and believe me it's so easy. Thanks again, I rooted successfully.

I can't thank you enough. I flashed 5.1.1 yesterday and everything was working fine, but I was really missing root. I could NOT wrap my head around the root process as described in the other posts. Nothing against all their hard work, I'm just slow. Your step by step was so easy to follow! Now I'm rooted and happy. Thanks!!

Guys, a question.
If i want to clean install Lollipop with full wipes using Odin on the SM-P601, which is currently on the UAE csc, using the INU csc, what are the steps i should follow.?
And if i factory reset using the recovery, will all my files in the internal storage get deleted.?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks. ☺

Will it work i have 5.0.1 one on my phone

Any idea if the root will work on P605 too? It's got 5.1.1 as well and I'm pretty excited to get on it. However, not may people are discussing about it.
Thanks for the guide btw!

Yes it will work if u download the 605 rom and then from root post download the modded boot image for 605 if available and last thing get TWRP for 605 as well.
Do as described in my guide and apart from what I said above the rest is universal meaning that supersu and closed are the same for all versions.

as I held these three buttons, I watched as the Samsung note splash screen flickered and restarted over and over. I held for about 10 minute and gave up after my hands got tired. After that, I couldn't get past the splash screen and had to do a straight ROM via ODIN.....can I still root? What was I doing wrong??

And I was going to make a good old demonstration of "how to install Stock KitKat ROM on your SM-N9005", until the whole thing got so out-of-hand... here are my failed attempts compressed into a real short video...
My Note 3 was soft-bricked, meaning that a failure in flashing software has caused my phone to become a 'brick', a not-dead-but-unusable condition.
It was a bummer! But it is one that can hardly avoid having all those upgrade tutorials on YouTube which didn't mention the uniqueness of 16Gb Hong Kong Note 3. Why should they mention anyway? They don't have 16Gb Hong Kong Note 3 in the first place.
Thanks Samsung for making the Hong Kong Note 3 so special, such that it is the Note 3 with the smallest storage in the world (16Gb) when the rest of the world are getting at least 32Gb! For this and for the trouble you have caused Samsung, I hate you!
After 2 days of research, I have finally arrived at a completely, perfectly usable state!!! And it is functioning with speed!!
However, from soft-bricked to success, the road had not been smooth. There was about a day or so that my phone was able to boot and use the internet, but had no in/outgoing call, no sound, no Google Now, no S-Voice, no camera, slow lockscreen and slow settings.
I have followed all the instructions given by several XDA members, but I still could not get it to work. Why?
That's because all those instructions are inaccurate. The thing is, minor details that are missing can be real serious, and for that, I want to write a very very detailed descriptions on how to solve this soft-brick issue specifically for 16 Gb International Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N9005) when upgrading to KitKat 4.4.2.
Before you start, you'll need,
a Custom ROM, eg. Sweet ROM v7.01 4.4.2 NA6
a leaked N9005XXUENA6 4.4.2 KitKat ROM for Note 3 Download on my blog
a Hong Kong N9005ZHUBMI7 Rescue ROM Download here
the latest CWM Recovery, eg 6.0.4.7 Download on my blog
Odin 3.07 Download on my blog
the latest Samsung USB Driver Download on my blog
Samsung Kies Download on my blog
Note 3 16Gb SM-N9005 from Hong Kong at 50% battery level
a Note 3 USB 3.0 cable
Installation Instructions:
Install Samsung Kies
Install Samsung USB Driver
Connect USB into PC and Note 3, then copy Custom ROM onto the SD card
Put Note 3 into Download mode by holding Power + Volume down + Home buttons at the same time until you see "Warning!!", then press Volume up
When you see "Downloading..." and Android logo, plug in the USB into the PC and Note 3
Run Odin 3.07 (See my video)
When you see a blue 0:[COM4], in the Bootloader put leaked KitKat's BL file, and in PIT, PDA, PHONE, CSC put Hong Kong N9005ZHUBMI7 Rescue ROM's PIT, AP, CP and CS respectively and then press Start to flash.
When Note 3 restarts, it will keep rebooting and it will only show Samsung boot screen, at this time, remove the battery and then put it back.
Repeat Step 4, 5 and 6
In Odin 3.07, go to PDA and choose CWM Recovery, eg 6.0.4.7, and press Start to flash, it will reboot automatically when complete. Unplug the USB.
When the phone reboots, it will boot into CWM Recovery. If it asks you to root phone, just say no. Otherwise, select Wipe data/factory rest --> yes, Wipe Cache --> yes, advance --> Wipe Dalvik Cache --> yes. This will erase the unwanted files and prepare your phone for the good stuff.
Go to install zip --> choose zip from /external_sd and select the Custom ROM you have chosen, then choose yes to flash. This will take about 3 minutes, press reboot after it is completed.
This reboot will be slow, and most likely there will be no sound at boot and errors at setup, be extremely patient and wait for the screen asking you to choose Language to appear. Choose the language you want, press Next, then do nothing else!!!!
Without doing anything else, repeat step 4, 5 and 6.
In Odin 3.07, go to CP, choose leaked KitKat's CP file and then press Start to flash.
When the phone reboots, you should hear the Samsung bootup music and then everything will be functioning perfectly!
The moral of the story is, you have got to have brain and perseverance to work with KitKat 4.4.2.

I have a 16gb Hong Kong Note 3. Firstly I wish to give my congratulations for you, my friend. Fantastic post! Some questions, please:
1- My phone is stock and rooted since the first firmware. I don't upgrade it for the newest version HK Firmware. Is your guide useful for me if I want to update to kit kat and don't wait the official kit kat Hong Kong?
2- After the moment (final part of the guide) that we have to select the language and only check next can I just power off the phone to make easy to start the phone in download Mode to finish the process?
Sorry for my questions and my poor english, my friend. I have read several posts to learn with guys like you. Please let me know. Thank you so much!

1. Yes, that is exactly what I did and what I thought. I didn't want to wait. I came from stock and rooted 4.3
2. Powering off the phone first, in my opinion, doesn't make going into download mode easier. So just directly hold Power+Vol Down+ Home to get into Download Mode

Of course its for unlocked bootloader only. But. When U have it unlocked I dont see any sense to use stock kernel after all
A reason to use stock kernel is that the advanced kernel from doomlord has very poor ram management. A lot of users complaining about that. Thanks for the tutorial.

Yes u got it! :good:, this is the main cause of this education.
You could also add in the thread if som1 is on .254 fimrware and rooted can take a backup of TA partition, then unlock bootloader and after following all steps restore TA and flash stock kernel, that's it locked bootloader with all DRM keys/TA partition present along with root and recovery's.
Edit : in 3rd step it's not needed to flash the stock kernel using fastboot, it can/should be flashed in flashmode.

Finally, I found it the best way to root firmware .266
In this tutorial:
The best way to solve the problem of "lack of management Ram"
Dedicated to all of you: Special Thanks to my good friend @RuchRha :fingers-crossed:
1 - .266 firmware Central Europe will flash via Flash Tools on the your XSP.
2 - Using the advanced stock kernel from doomlord (flash it via fastboot) and flash the root app in recovery "supersu" app on your phone .
3 - The stock kernel of firmware .266 Click this link to download and flash on your phone via fastboot.
4 - Download CWM And TWRP For XSP .266 zip file from this link and follow the manual steps.

Step 3 should not be flashed in fastboot. or it will bricked your phone. use flash tool via flash mode since it is a tft file
You should modify the title of this topic and add [UB] cause it misleads people and make them believe that there is a working root for [LB]
update to. 266 while keeping root
Hi, I'm new to this, is there anyway to update to 4.3 without losing root? And if there isn't, is it possible to re-root on updated Xperia sp without unlocking the bootloader? Any help greatly appreciated...

Nope, you will surely lose root when you update but you still can gain root by following the OP. Works 100% though you will need to UNLOCK your BOOTLOADER to gain such permission. But you can relock later after installing SuperSU and its binaries if you 1st backup your TA partition
So instead of creating the obvious tutorials about how to root for UBL only it would be nice if you could find the way for LB.
Also this is more of a double thread since Doomlord has updated his CWM thread

I'm new here! I can't unlock the bootloader. Am running rooted 4.1 on xperia sp. Could you put up a very simple step by step guide for doing the update and rooting. I've read through the thread and can't quite follow what to do. Have used flashtool for the original rooting process but apart from that am totally green I'm afraid...thanks in anticipation!

you propably updated to the new version of Kitkat 4.4.2.
The new update had the bandversion I9301IXXUANF4 for me (I updated too) (there is no possible way to root this version as far as i know)
But the not updated version of KitKat 4.4.2 (bandversion for me: I9301IXXUANC6) works with towelroot.
Beside i updated to the new update i still got my phone rooted:
I downloaded the new version of Odin on my pc.
I downloaded the old version from sammobile. (the I9301IXXUANC6 version)
In Odin (launched with admin rights) you click on the PDA (or sometimes AP called) button and select the downloaded firmware version (unpacked)
Next boot your phone in recovery mode (turn it off, then press volume down + home + power button)
Connect your phone to your pc (after that odin should recognize your phone)
Now make sure re-partition is NOT checked in odin !this is very important! and click start (now wait some time until its finished)
Your phone should reboot automatic (if auto reboot is checked in odin) and the old firmware should be on your phone
Now install towelroot and click "make it rain"
Now you should have root!

Well, I hope that there will be a root app for I9301IXXUANF4 soon.
I've got some bad memories of doing anything to my phone with ODIN. App is the only non-destructive way for me.
Does anyone know how much time developer needs to release his updated app after new version of Android?
in download mode do you have trace of knox?
i can't understand if it's only a software knox or a hardware one (efuse) like on the s4
you can enter in download mode by doing:
The phone must be turned off.
Keep pressing and holding ‘Home Button (middle button) + Volume down key + Power Button’ simultaneously until you see a warning message. Now press Volume Up to continue. This will land you into downloading mode.

If you read "knox warranty etc..." there is a hardware-efuse knox

THIS WILL VOID WARRANTY & SET KNOX COUNTER 0x1. THERE IS NO KNOWN METHOD TO ROOT WITHOUT TRIPPING KNOX !!
Repository of supported devices:

If your device is NOT SUPPORTED:
1. Download your deice firmware from sammobile.com or samsung-updates.com
2. Extract recovery.img
3. Post your recovery.img in Chainfire OFFICIAL CF-AUTO-ROOT THREAD !! and ask him nicely to look into it
If your device has issues with CF-Auto Root method:
* If your device has a LOCKED BOOTLOADER, then you're out of luck. There is no known method to unlock.
* Post in Chainfire OFFICIAL CF-AUTO-ROOT THREAD !!
Official XDA CF-Auto-Root Thread:
PLEASE POST ALL QUERIES RELATED TO CF-AUTO ROOT TO THE BELOW OFFICIAL CF-AUTO-ROOT THREAD !!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1980683
I have only personally tested SM-N915S model and confirm root working. I can not vouch for any other device models. Just make sure you have your full firmware package available to recover from a soft brick and read the thread before attempting to flash !!
Method used for my SM-N915S:
1. Advised: Have a full stock firmware package available (just in case of soft brick) [sammobile.com or samsung-updates.com]
2. Have Samsung USB drivers installed on Windows PC (Easiest way is DL KIES from Samsung)
3. DISABLE REACTIVATION LOCK: device settings > security > reactivation lock >> DISABLE (uncheck)
4. Flash via Odin [I used Odin3 v3.07 - attachment] as per Chainfire's instructions !
** If unsure how to use Odin, there are many guides found by searching !
5. Wait around 30 secs after flash (stuck on boot screen), and hopefully device will boot.
6. Open SuperSU app and update SU if prompted

Root on Sprint SM915P.... CHECK !
Okay, my Sprint SM915P phone is successfully rooted. It went down pretty much how it did in this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-edge/general/easy-steps-stock-odin-n915tuvu1anjl-sm-t2943993
I didn't install the SD card fix yet...have to check that out first.
I got the "FAIL" messsage after flashing the CF autoroot tar file, then I thought WTH, I'll see if the Tmobile variant process works, so I tried it, and it worked. I have rebooted several times and it seems ROOT is sticking. Recovery had a hard time finding the UPdate SU file for some reason, but I eventually did, and flashed it.
So, my recommendation is to flash the Chainfire Autoroot tar file for the Sprint variant first, then follow the thread I referenced above for the rest. Your results may be different, so buyer beware! Good luck.
Many Thanks to Chainfire and TEKHD , you guys rock!

As your device isn't yet listed in Chainfire's thread, I have no idea if any of the official CF-Auto-Root would be compatible. If you were to risk your device, you would look for a Snap Dragon one, but I would not recommend to those who can't afford the risk. EDIT: Without having the official stock firmware package available, I WOULD NOT TRY IT.
If your device isn't yet supported, maybe see if your firmware package is available at sammobile.com or samsung-updates.com , download and extract the recovery.img . Then upload the recovery.img to Chainfire's main XDA thread (link in OP) and ask nicely if he can spend the time to support your device I there is nothing, maybe contact one of those sites and politely request
mmm, tried it on the N915G with the appropriate files being (CF-Auto-Root-tblte-tbltedt-smn915g) but no luck on rooting so far. Initially I thought it could be me being silly with drivers and ODIN versions, tried a few drivers and ODIN versions but same outcome. Was stuck at NAND: write failure after what appears to be an attempt to write in recovery, then cache, even after a few tries [being full disconnect, restart in download mode and re-flash]. No issues restoring to store firmware (N915GXXU1ANJ3_N915GXSA1ANJ3_N915GXXU1ANJ3_HOME.tar.md5) though.
Any tips guys?

You might want to drop a post in Chainfire main XDA thread to let him know it's not working. He seems really busy, so that's of he monitors that thread anymore.
Nothing official, there might be something unofficial using Note 4 method. There is always risk to remember though.

Thanks Again
They all look extremely tempting and I actually understand which each file is, well almost hehe. Which would you recommend downloading in order to start from scratch on the HTC One M7 to be able to download OTA's? Or would it be quicker to just flash stock recovery?

It depends on your current situation. If you have the Stock Rom complete with Preload data. Then flashing the Stock Recovery should do the trick just fine with little hassle.
If you have a Custom Rom or have at some point unlocked the bootloader with your Stock Rom then the Guru Reset would be your best option. As Unlocking the bootloader wipes the Stock preload data which will cause the OTA to fail.

Ah I see, well I think I fall under the latter category. So is it just a case of downloading the guru .zip and then booting into TWRP and then flashing the .zip through there? ?

Yes the gurureset flashes in recovery. It uses the Aroma installer and can flash the Stock Recovery for you this is an option during the installer setup :good:

Just a quick update on the guru zip. Everything has worked perfectly, up and running as new. Just thought I should mention that on the bootloader screen it still says Tampered and Unlocked. Plus there's no longer a recovery, is this a problem for OTA's? Knowing me I've probably messed something up along the way.

Flashing a ROM will not change anything in the bootloader. You need s-off to remove both of these.

I think you probably mean that there's no more custom recovery installed on your phone? Because the reset rom flashed back the stock recovery, like danny said at post #8.

Yep what @alray said ,
Just for clarity, with the stock recovery if your getting a black screen followed by a picture of a phone with a red exclamation mark then that's normal. That is the stock recovery. To reveal the recovery menu hold volume up and press the power button. You will see some errors about unable to mount sdcard this is also normal. The recovery is looking for an sd card slot which the M7 doesn't have. We only have the internal storage :good:

Ah I understand now. That is really helpful, thanks both of you for clearing that up. I've read on a couple of sites that you may need to re-lock the bootloader and to get rid of the "Tampered" sign if you're to receive OTA updates, do you guys know if that's the case?

The guru reset is everything you need to be ready for the OTA. :good: Unlocked bootloader is fine as long as the software is stock :good:

Your welcome :good: it's better to get it right first time, than to try and fix it after it's gone wrong
It gets stuck at 10%.

Which recovery are you using?
TWRP 2.8
But it's irrelevant now. After a couple of system formattings it did install.

Ok cool, for the record though installs getting stuck happens a lot with TWRP 2.8.X.X :good:
That's why I recommend 2.6.3.3 but glad you got sorted though. If youhavent checked recently h3g are pushing the update now
