Got edge agreement on your moto x line? watch out (Month 2 Month As well) - X Style (Pure) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

One of my lines has HTC M8 under edge agreement discount of 25 $ got removed as soon as he inserted sim card into Moto X. I assume this is why because the Moto X's aren't fully in Verizon system. When I click on view edge agreement it does not show picture of the phone that is currently activated so the system might think there is no phone on edge even though there is. I will try to get it fixed my new billing cycle just started and he wants to pay off the htc m8 next month when his contract ends. Again this is just a small warrning to watch out guys until Verizon fixes their sh!t :good:
PS. Of course the device is recognized in my-verizon with no image but as motorola XT and model number.
My own line has 25$ Month2Month and that discount was not touched.
EDIT: 09/21/15 - my own month2month line now is showing Discount Expiring : 09/21/15

My EDGE other line lost it and Verizon said they will work on it.. it's been 2 days so far as of 9/21/15
I know what is the reason because they aren't fully in the system now imei does accept it but it still shows no image etc.. that's why system somehow removes the discount/s
nexus 6 issues from march

I checked with Verizon when I first got the phone and they said I'd still have my $25 edge discount...I'll have to keep an eye out now. Thanks for the heads up!

I suggest you check it and go to my plan and on the bottom you see all your promotions. He activated Moto X yesterday and yesterday it would show expire date of : 9/18/2015 and yes it did expire today. Now I have to wait few days for Verizon to do their thing.. if they can't fix it I will fight with them to terminate edge agreement without penalty.

Mine is still showing it as active with no expiration but that just could be because the new bill hasn't came through.

My account still shows the discount. Received the phone on the 11th and my new bill is from the 15th. Still there.

Yes. It's in the attached thumbnail in my last post. My bill is the same as it was. $40 line access -$25 discount $8 TEP(cancelling) = $23.00mo for that line.

I still have my discounts.

Well then I can't explain why that happened to one my lines. Weird

Wow something crazy is going on.. now my own line with Verizon Month2Month is showing my discount is expiring today LOL , 2 Moto X lines lost their discounts LOL
I will be calling them and asking for a supervisor.

Just lost mine. It was there this weekend. Not a happy camper. They are applying a credit this month. Looks like I'll have to go this every month to get the credit. I may cancel Verizon.

Hey glad not to be the only one I know why is this happening tho. Someone told me same was happening with Nexus 6 Verizon has to fully add Moto X into their system that is why this is happening. Even tho it shows Motorola XT.

Same here I am tired of contacting them everytime their system screws something up.
I am afraid to try tmobile and they don't have good deals on single line, I might give cricket a try if this keeps on happening.
@mlr_90Patryk: ok why is this even happening?
Patryk: why does activating a different device trigger this?
Patty: That is because the month to month discount is verified by the system through the device, since the eligibility for the discount is to have the device in our device payment program.
Patryk: Right that would be for EDGE you meant.
Patty: But I can see here that adjustments have been made and the discount will again apply for that line.
Patryk: Month2Month is out of contract discounts.
Patty: Yes, that's what it's currently called.
Patty: Yes, that is right.
(no I am not Patty) lol. This is what she told me tho.

Let me know when they fix it for you. I will report tomorrow if the discount will be re-added.

Just an update my discounts are not back. Time to waste more time with 611
Spoke with level2 even he couldn't add but he tried a lot so all of you guys either swap sims to your old devices or keep on calling to get credits.
He will call me back in few days he seemed like a nice guy wanting to help. My friend borrowed my note4 so I didn't try swapping between sims for another 2 weeks minimum.

I guess I'll keep my Turbo as a spare and put my sim in there for a day or two every month until they get this fixed. They had issues with the Nexus 6 as well. I think they were finally resolved from what I've read. I've also lost Visual Voicemail and they have been working on that for days now. I keep getting texts telling me there was an update to my ticket but no other contact yet. I hope that Verizon get's their act together soon!

Also try going to Main Menu like you see in the Screenshot then you will be in my-verizon logged on mobile browser.
Then you should see Connections Offer on the left side, Under HOME section not plan.
If not then it might be because you have loyalty 10GB Plan before they were public to all people this might be why..
you can also try calling customer service they should be able to do add it for you.

Well, recently I had called Verizon CS regarding that other promo stuff listed here about 10gb data = 30 or whatever and also had noted one user actually opted for a $10 discount off their bill in place of (I believe) taking advantage of that offer.
So in the end. At that point in time, I had 3GB data on my plan. Talked to agent and as I mainly use wi-fi both at home and work and barely exceed 1gb average a month (yet it's nice to know I have some extra in case I want to stream pandora, ect... in car), anyhow, I ended up getting my monthly bill discounted (-$10) and an extra GB of data thrown in to equal 4GB at that time.
So in answering your question, I should be at least temporarily now at 5GB I suppose for the next couple months. :victory:

That's not bad.
You can get Loyalty Credit on Contract lines if it has little more then 1 year left on your contract.
Try calling and asking about "Loyalty Credit" not all lines can get it.
If contract has less then 1 YEAR LEFT it would extend contract END date by few months but not the upgrade date.
So you might save even more $$

Thanks for the info. Basically I just have my main line (The recently purchased Note 4) a month after my eligibility date from Sept 19th this year and a stupid Home Connect which I don't even use and it's contract expires this Nov 21st... Long story short, ex girlfriend whom I mistakenly at the time purchased and put a phone under contract had broken up with me so instead of paying the ETF, I went on Ebay at the time, purchased a Verizon Home connect box, and ported the number to it.
Looking forward to saving that extra $20 per month very soon!

Verizon Nexus 6 was "supposed" to be released today.

Spoke to a Verizon rep randomly today because I was about 10 seconds away from getting out of my EDGE plan and have a competitor buy me out of a contract. I am patient but for the love of god give me something Verizon. This is ridiculous.
Anyway, long story short I happen to get myself a fanatic today. He had a lot more information than any other rep I have spoken to and I have had my fair share of run ins with these clowns. I figured I would give some love back to my community.

Oh ok. I am about to give up on the nexus 6 with Verizon man.
If I remember correctly edge is not a contract so you don't have a termination fee, just a payment fee. And from what I heard from T-Mobile, they will only buy out your contract/pay termination fee. They will not pay your edge installment balance off. Just fyi if you did want to eventually leave Verizon while you have Edge installments.

That's early edge, meaning that you're recycling into another edge installment. you have to completely pay off your phone if you wanted to leave the service. it looks like what you're trying to do has a slim chance of seeing a glimmer of light lol. all in all, if you do it this way, pay the full amount of the phone you have and sell it at ebay/swappa/cl price. not sure what phone you have but i'm sure you'll be losing a few hundred bucks. sorry buddy, that's the trick of edge, they got you.

That's good to know that you can switch over. That also means you just forked over hundreds of dollars (to pay off 75% for a device) to verizon AND bought a new phone under a 2 year agreement plus activation fee. But if you started edge when it first came out, then there's no problem about that since you've been already paying that for that period of time.
Or, are you planning to switch to a different carrier for them to pay ETF?

I'm doing the 2yr contract. Getting the moto x since its free right now with the headphones. With all the fees I'm paying about 90 dollars. Than I'm going to sell them on ebay. To help with the cost of the nexus 6.
Thought I'd mention that on the official Verizon forums I found a post from mid December where a person claimed to have been told January 2nd by a support rep. That gives me hope that it truly will be released eventually.
Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
VZ extended their exchange period for the holidays until 1/15. I GUARENTEE they won't release it during that time period. Look for it no earlier than 1/16.
I switched the family over to Verizon yesterday and ended up using a iphone 5S IMEI to get my number to activate before popping it in my CW Nexus 6. The rep that was doing the activations said that he has played with a Verizon Nexus 6 during his training. He asked me how I liked it. I did ask him when it would release and he said he wasnt sure, just that the phone was undergoing testing and should release soon.
Only gripe would be that I cant do Data while On a phone call. Was used to this when I was on AT&T and came in handy while on Conf calls and such.

Verizon More Everything Month2Month Discount

I'd like to see if any of you with the Verizon "More Everything" plan will get to keep your "Month2Month" $25 discount when you switch to the 2015 Moto X. This was one of the issues we had with the Nexus 6, prior to VZW white listing all IMEIs.
There is confirmation that the new phone with work on Verizon and it appears that "Advanced Calling" works as well. Their new BYOD policy states you can bring any CDMA phone with no contract. I'm hoping that I dont have to switch to the full "no contract" plan, as it is actually a little more expensive than my current plan.
So, once you-all start getting your phones, can someone confirm that you are keeping the $25 discount please? Thanks!
As long as you have the discount already, it will work. Even a new customer who brings this device will get it right away, since there is no device being subsidized by Big Red.

But as stated in post above I think you will be fine until or if you make a plan change.

The month to month ($25) discount is different than the employer based discount (usually a percentage of the data plan).
With the Nexus 6 (prior to white listing), you would loose the $25 discount on the More Everything plan because the IMEI's were not in VZW's system. This didn't seem to have an affect on the employer discount. I'm guessing with their new policy that all will be well, but I'd like someone to confirm that has this plan and the new Moto X Pure.
It should be fine my contract ended yesterday and I have it applied already. Swapping Sim card shouldn't matter.
When I get mine I'll let you know otherwise it will be a lot of arguing with VZW

From what I saw with the Nexus 6, you should be fine. I'd bet you can even get the "out of contract" discount for not ordering a new device under contract.
I'm still curious if anyone is having issues with the Month2Month discount on the More Everything (Edge) plan...
Bump

Unlimited data plan price increase to $50.

Looks like Verizon hates loyalty. UDP price to increase from 29.99 to 49.99. Get on contract to lock in the price.
I've heard having a discount on your account also keeps the $30/month from increasing.

I just dont get why they would give those already getting a discount a chance to stay on it at a cheaper price. Doesnt really seem to add up. I do have a corporate discount on file, so I guess time will tell, however I would ask your friend again and see if they have any extra details.
Thanks!
Well if they start increasing prices then they'll end up losing customers in the long run.
I filed a complaint with the FCC and received a call from Verizon. I was told that prices on corporate ACCOUNTS will not be raised . those with employer discount will be raised... Big difference. We will however be able to upgrade and keep the unlimited data. I encourage everyone to file a complaint with the FCC, and BBB. Oh and tethering will not be included .

So let me get this straight, we'll be able to upgrade at a subsidized price now instead of doing the workarounds that are used to be forced to do?

Wait that's huge news if that's true. I was about to pull the trigger on the Turbo 2, but now I'll wait to hear more about this.
Whiners
50 bucks for "real" unlimited 4g speeds? I'll take it.
I checked yesterday. You will be able to use the device payment plan. If you have lines that do not have unlimited data you can transfer the upgrade to that line and use a traditional upgrade path

Wow holy crap, I'm okay with paying the extra amount a month if I can do this now. That's wonderful news.
I think it takes effect on November 12th or 15th for the billing portion. When the upgrade paths are opened up I have no clue but one would assume that as soon as they are billing you more then you could purchase a device on payments.

Ah, I'll keep that in mind. I wanted to order the Turbo 2 asap but I'll have to see how that works. Thanks for the info though.
Did anyone get a notice from Verizon when signing into their account from a computer? My friend who isn't on corporate got the notice but I'm on a corporate account and didn't get one. That might be the differentiation.

I would advise buying the phone before that date if you can upgrade now with a work around. You'll save money in the long run. If you said to upgrade after that date you'll end up paying an extra $480 over the course of 2 years.

Oh, I thought the first was the last day for the upgrade? I didn't know I had more time to lock it in. Once the orange accents are in stock I'll try to do it asap. I still have to find more concrete info on locking in my contract but I'm going to try my best to get it done.
EDIT: Quick question for you since I noticed you mentioned your method in the Turbo 2 section. If I transfer my upgrade from my line (UDP) to my mother's line (2GB, still in contract for 1 more year) does my contract lock in for two years starting immediately, or do I have to follow through with upgrading her device to get it locked in?

That's a good question. What should happen is that the contract date of the TDP line should switch to the UDP line. So they kind of swap with each other. So let's say you have an upgrade available on your UDP but your TDP has a contract renewal date of 10/21/2016. I believe what should happen is that you're UDP line gets changed to 10/21/2016. And then, let's say you buy a phone today on the TDP, you would have a new contract renewal date for the TDP on 11/3/2017. But you do actually have to follow though with the upgrade for the new dates to take effect.
My Turbo should come in tomorrow, so I will let you know what happens with my contact renewal date on my UDP line. There was a glitch in the system last year where I bought the original turbo and did the same exact thing, but my contact date never changed.
I transferred my upgrade to my sister's tiered line and then activated it on her line. After activating it, I popped in my SIM the phone was mine. My contact renewal date never changed though. It still said I had an upgrade available, that's why I was able to do it again this year on the Turbo 2.
As of right now, I just checked the Verizon website and it still says I have an upgrade available on my line. I'm wondering if the glitch happened again. I'll let you know tomorrow what happens.

Awesome, that's really helpful, thank you. So basically all I have to do is login to my account, transfer my upgrade to the other line, and then go to Verizon and upgrade her phone, correct? Seems simple enough. I'm actually pretty worried about losing my UDP even though I know it's a proven method haha. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you end up paying for the Turbo 2? Or is it full price?

T-MOBILE promotion

https://www.t-mobile.com/offers/google-pixel-2-offer
Get 325 rebate for adding a new line with pixel 2. I already ported my number out of T-MOBILE to Cricket and will port it back to T-MOBILE once I get my phone.
On top of that I turning in my phone to Google for 410 so since I am buying a regular pixel 64GB and not getting protection the phone will essentially be free
*Update* my little scheme doesn't work if you cancelled after 10/03. So you have net add a line.
Would have been cheaper to add a line. There is no requirement to keep that line active after the card ships which is 2 months tops. For me that's $30 total just to get a $325.
Not necessarily, I have 4 lines so I am paying only $5 more instead of paying $25 more

So I add a line, wait for the prepaid card, cancel the line, use the Pixel on my old line?
Or I wonder if you have to use the Pixel on the new line? And I wonder if people on old Simple Choice plans can do this?

You'd have to switch to the One Plan.
You would add a line and then wait for the card to ship. Once that is done the processing is finished which the requirements. For me with kickbacks will cost me $30 total to get the $325 card at the most. If they ship within 4 weeks then it'll be $15. The Pixel doesn't have to be on that line, because the Pixel won't be in their system.

Does anyone know how to "register" for the offer? It looks like you need to have the phone in hand, although FAQ says "online redemption site" which I can't find. Thanks!

This is exactly what I'm planning to do. In addition, if you are over 55, you can switch to the 55+ plan as soon as the rebate is shipped which will allow 2 lines on the ONE plan for $60. Only one person has to be 55 so have your mom or whoever is over 55 open the account and have unlimited everything for $30.

I did the BOGO for s7 and you have to wait until the prepaid card ships. It took at least 2 months for me to get the rebate
I switched my pixel 1 over when they had the last promotion. They emailed me my $450 rebate to pay off my phone within 2 weeks. It was pretty legit.

When I did the S7 BOGO it took 3 weeks for mine to ship. The S8 BOGO I did took 5 weeks. Think it depends on how early in line you are.

I was pretty late on the promotion so that maybe why. I just figured they wanted at least 2 billing cycles knowing that at least half would cancel the line.

I assumed T-Mobile would have something that would keep the line active for longer than 2 months. There's still time for them to change the terms as their promotion isn't live yet. When it goes live I am going to read the terms one last time to make sure.

Sadly, they took away the ability to add a Pixel to an existing account for the promotion. Last year you didn't need to add a line.

Actually, you had to be a new customer coming from Verizon. That's technically adding a line to a new account or someone elses account. I know because I did the deal and now am a Tmobile customer.

I was under the assumption that you were discussing the Get out of the Red promotion which was the pixel Tmobile promotion only for Verizon Customers. : https://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/t-mobile-get-out-of-the-red/
Get Out Of the Red is a separate promotion. Your best promotion depends on what your current status is.

Update, you can't cancel a line before 10/03. So my idea backfired.
