Does the G Pad 10 cases and screen protectors fits on the X 2 10.1?

You refer to this tablet as the AT&T LG Pad X 2 10.1. The AT&T web site shows this as the LG G Pad X 10.1. Is this the same tablet?
Do you have way to root this device yet?

Well you said ask anything, I have a question....
3 points lie on an xy plane, with each point representing where a particular person lives. Amy lives at point (2,3); Brian lives at point (0,7); and Claire lives at point (-2,3). They all wish to meet up with each other for lunch, but at a location that is equidistant from each of their respective houses. At what point do they meet?
a. (0,4.5)
b. (0,13/3)
c. (0,3)
d. (1,5)
e. (-1,5)

The AT&T G Pad X 10.1 that I have is 32GB. I don't think they have a 16GB option. I have a 128GB microSD card in it as well.

You can use an usb slim-port adapter. The slimport from Monoprice does work but one may also need to connect a power adapter to the adapter as some adapters need more power than supplied from the tablet else the battery could also run down very fast.
I have the pad 2 10.1 wifi & have used the Amazon slimport adapter for their Fire 8.9 4th gen to display on the TV. You can do miracast/*cast but the sound quality is much worst & quite noticeable.

Could i possibly (if you have stock recovery ) get a copy of it?
I made the mistake of flashing one non-compatible, and now all i get is fastboot mode, and i'm not quite sure how to use fastboot, but trying to learn it so i can use my tablet again. Thanks so much for your time.

I was given a LG G-Pad on att&t service......Is their a way to make it work on Verizon service ?

Do you have stock LG-V930 image anybody to share? Please and thank you.

How to upgrade to Marshmallow on LG V930 ?
I just received an LG V930 (LG G Pad X 10.1) off eBay. It was advertised as locked to AT&T, and has AT&T's bloatware. However:
- AT&T Device Unlock Request page does not recognize it as an AT&T device! I am trying to get around this via a 3rd-party unlock service.
- The tablet is running Android 5.1.1, Kernel 3.4.0, Build LMY47V, Version V93010d. But it does not update any further--it claims to be up to date already. How do I upgrade it to Android 6.0 ? Is it possible that the tablet is forcing me to wait 24 hours (after initialization) before Software Update will work?

An administrator on AT&T's Community Forum asserts that the tablet will not update unless it has an AT&T SIM card. I actually tried that, but the SIM card was pre-used; I got a message that it was "not provisioned", and the tablet would not update.

Otg support

Does Galaxy tab 4 t231 have USB otg support? If not, can it be enabled by any method? Planning to buy this tablet. Please answer.. Thank you for your time

Would really love to know this too. It's my understanding previous versions of the Galaxy Tab support USB OTG, and would love to enable it on the Tab 4.
On my smartphone I have an option in settings to turn OTG on and off, unfortunately no option seems to exist on my Tab4. Assuming the Tab 4 has hardware support for it, how would I go about enabling OTG?
Bump...
Would LOVE a solution as well~!:good:
Ran USB Diagnostics. As of now there is no support whatsoever but a custom ROM or Kernel may be able to enable it. I suppose there is a slight chance since the larger variants have OTG support and the hardware is similar.
Edit: Playing around with some OTG apps, it appears that we do not have hardware support so there's about 70-90% chance the tablet will purely not support it and trying to do so would be impossible.

I ran that same app on my Tab4 as well, unfortunately I wasn't able to understand everything the app told me so I concluded OTG support on the Tab4 was inconclusive =P
Considering OTG is supported on the other Galaxy Tab devices, what reasoning would Samsung have to not enable this feature on the Tab4 7.0? Especially if the hardware is the same (or very similar) it just doesn't make any sense to me why they wouldn't give the Tab4 7.0 OTG support as well. It's actually very frustrating in 2014 that this Tab doesn't support OTG. I am almost considering returning it solely for this reason (I haven't yet, because I'm very pleased with everything else the Tab4 has to offer).
My cheap, Chinese sub $100 android ICS tablet I bought last year had OTG support! What gives Samsung? I sort of expect more from a major brand like Samsung.

So, I may be wrong but I believe the problem may be in chip set itself, since its Marvell CPU (I never heard of this company). However, the Tab 3 also carried an older Marvell CPU, which they were able to overcome this problem with a custom Kernel. So, may be this tablet has slight chance of having OTG support but Scumbag Samsung decided that they don't the cheaper tablet to sell.

Well I'll certainly be holding out on that slight chance for OTG support lol. I was really looking forward to using my tab 4 as a second display with DSLR Controller, so you can imagine my disappointment when it didn't work =/
Either way, if a dev ends up seeing this and wants to implement this feature, let me know if I can do anything help (beta testing custom kernels) or whatever, just let me know. I'm more than willing to help move this forward, even if it ends up not working.

I was curious if my Tab 4 has usb otg support. Turns out it did, even tho those usb otg checker apps said it didn't. I was able to open up the stuf on my usb stick. My model is SM-T330NU and i'm on 4.4.2
Also, it also supports external dac (Tested with Fiio E17) and it works with spotfiy. I'm starting to like this tablet even more .
I would like to buy this cable in order to use my Tab 4 to charge my Nexus 4. (Only need this on the road charging done when I'm on vacation, which is every 2-3 years, making buying a battery bank not worth it)
Would this cable work fine?
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Micro-USB-Ma...323059?hash=item419dbd9ab3:g:h94AAOSwuWVWE0V1
Please note my main objective is not accessing USB keys or HDD's, but purely use the cable to charge my phone. Accessing a USB media storage would be a bonus.

Hi is that a 7" or an 8"? The 8 has otg but my 7 doesn't as standard. If it's a 7" how did you get it to work? Would LOVE to get OTG working on my tab4 7" as it's literally the only reason I bought it and didn't realise and (wrongly) assumed) it would have it.

[Q] should I buy it ?

Hello guys
I want to buy the tab 4 t230 mainly for reading pdf files
is it a good tablet and how about its performance ? I don't want it to be all laggy
thanks for your help
I don't know about the 230, but I have the 330 model and reading PDF files, and any other sort of document is a overall good experience for me. One could make the argument that bigger is better, but for me having the 8" model in horizontal or even vertical layout has worked quite well when it came to looking at notes, editing documents or even reading textbooks for college lectures/classes. I haven't noticed any lag when it came to just looking at a file, only when it came to running graphics intensive games.
(Quick summary) I use the 8" tablet daily and love it. recently, I purchased two textbooks from the play store and reading them and other PDF files work perfectly. :good:
-still it's always good to browse around.
Update: Before I made the purchase on the 8" model I read around that if you have a little bit extra it was a good idea to buy the 8" model over the 7" cause of the different processors inside. So it's all about how much you're willing to spend.

Edit. I would not buy the 7...
I bought the 8 and the below is for the 8...sorry. I forgot to mention that.
The tab in itself is decent, but with samsung pushy BS Apps the tab is slower...
However, should you buy the tab >> Root device with Towel root >> Freeze / uninstall all bloatware >> Install nova launcher >> Disable animations system wide >> Move larger apps to SD >> Presto = You've got a good tab!
Samsung software is not needed whatsoever. You can get a huge performance advantage by removing bloatwares and providing near android stock performance with nova launcher and animations disabled.
srsly no, i am still unable to root it, for the same price i would suggest a nexus 7
I rooted it out of the box a night or two ago. Just got it.
Same here, root capabilities were available a few weeks to a month after it was available for purchase back in june. I bought my tablet back in May when it first came out. However, I would still agree that a nexus 7 would be a good purchase if you just want to use a tablet for reading PDFs. Actually the Nexus 7 2013 edition is on sale for $159 on Ebay. The Nexus is still Googles current-gen device as of now and has many accessories and what not available, while it took months before I could even buy a cheap case for this tablet ( Better cases and accessories are out now, just not a plethora made specifically for the Tab4).

What is your device model? My tab is the 8 inch one. The 8 and 10 have similar specs and processor whereas the 7" tab has a marvel based processor and thus is different methodology to root.
Also, Yes I did update to latest firmware on my tab. Opened the box, ran updates, and rooted all about 3 days ago.

Ah, you might be out of luck until they can find a better root method for the marvel processor in your model..

Info, I wanna buy this tablet

Hi,
I want to buy a new tablet 10 inch and this note seems perfect for me since I study at the university. But I have some doubt:
1. I read that the version with snapdragon works best, but for me it would be fine also Wi-Fi only version, do not ever insert the card, it's worth it to spend at least 100 € extra just to get the better processor?
2. In the reviews I've seen with Android 4.3, the lag is not missing at all, the situation has improved with the upgrade to Kitkat? Also do you think will be upgraded to Lollipop?
3. I would need to connect it to the TV with HDMI, what kind of connection you can do with this tablet?
Thank you all in advance!
@Murtagh92 Mate I wouldn't buy this just yet ... there is a new Note 10.1 2015 in the works ... My guess would be in a couple of months it will get announced. It will have typical better Processor and screen and the WiFi version will probably the same as the 2014 LTE.
1. I would just be patient if possible - If you need it asap then the WiFi Note 10.1 2014 is fast enough I believe and pretty cheap at the min.
2. Yeah I am 100% positive the Note 2014 will get Lollipop although it will be a bit of a wait LOL. But I find KitKat prettt fast.
3. This adaptor will do the trick ... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1&tag=viglink20238-20
Thank you, very kind.
I'm participating in an auction. It's a lte version, buyed in january with 2 years of warranty, original cover and 64 microsd, I will offer up to 350, otherwise I will expect the 2015 version.
Yes please don't buy the note 10.1 2014.. Lags like crazy, touch screen is soo unresponsive, cheap feel(doesn't feel like $550), but performance wise its king..
Sent from my SM-T800 using XDA Free mobile app
I have the Tmobile version and it works great. No lag. Haven't had any problems with it. The only things I don't like are the placement of the charging port and the auto brightness function which must be a Samsung tablet issue cause it works fine on the Sasung phones I have. By issue, I mean that with auto brightness checked, the screen is really dim even in very bright light so I just adjust it manually.
I think I will wait 2015 edition. Unless I find a good deal for the lte version.
I will sell you mine...if interested. Pm me if you want.

I've thoroughly enjoyed my tablet so far. With the aid of some talented developers, this tablet has picked up quite a bit of speed and stability! And currently on TigerDirect it's going to $400

Ive had mine about 8 months and it's been fantastic.
Little bit of menu lag before kit kat but now its 100%.
Love the official flip case with it also and a big sd card.
I bought a P605! It's fantastic! Now I am not sure if I need to make root or change rom.
Just root will do. With kitkat u will have 2.7gb ram 400mb more ram than the 4.3.
with root u can use app like greenify and tb to remofe craps. I have successfully rooted by flashing nee kernel and then towel root and then flash back my curre kernel which is cnj1 without tripping knox or void my holy warranty.
2014 edition rocks.
U wait and get 2015 edition, you will pay alot more. Hv had mine for a month now w kitkat wifi edition 2014 and thoroughly enjoy it....But one thing to note(get it?) with samsung is that they cannot keep their devices up to date at the same rate as their development...so anything in the past gets left behind. Example: 4.4.4 kitkat update is here for tmobile but not wifi edition which is samsung only.

Amazon will release new Fire HD 8 Tablets models, next week?

I've seen some leaked information that Amazon is preparing, and that they will release new Fire Tablets and also a New FireTV-Stick, next week!
I have also noticed that several weeks ago, some colors of the FireHD8 sometimes are unavailable, in very short supply or are also offered Used-Like-New/Used-Very-Good, what could be a sign that Amazon is preparing to launch some new models with some enhanced features.
Does anyone know if this information is true and what we can expect in these new Fire HD 8 tablet (2015) models?
The new Fire HD 8 is here! What's new?
All-new Fire HD 8, now with up to 12 hours of battery life, 2X the storage, and 50% more RAM for faster performance - made for all day entertainment.
Last year's model had 8 hours of battery life, now 12 hours; 8 GB and 16 GB choices vs now 16 & 32 GB; 1 GB RAM now 1.5 GB same processor speed; microSD card storage old model 128Gb now 200GB; price is lower then old model 16Gb $90 32GB $120 same colors: black, magenta, blue, and tangerine. The big deal for this tablet is the addition of Alexa, but the same goes for the old model but you will need to update your software to get it.
I would like to add, that after checking the product description at Amazon.com, I have noticed that this newer model is also much thicker than the previous 2015 models, because this newer model now has 0.4 inches thick.
All-new Fire HD 8 (2016):
Product Dimensions: 8.4 x 5 x 0.4 inches
Shipping Weight: 1 pounds
Old Fire HD 8 (2015):
Product Dimensions: 8.4 x 5 x 0.3 inches
Shipping Weight: 1.4 pounds
This could perhaps be because this new model now comes with a higher capacity battery, which is larger and heavier.
I do not know if this information is correct, but if it is true, the new FireHD8 (2016) Model will be thicker (0.4" instead of 0.3" of the Old 2015 model), but it will be also heavier !
The Bad news is that Amazon just to keep lower the product cost and the final sale price, decided to stuck with almost the same processor instead of raise it speed a little bit, so that this NEW fire tablet could work with less lagging and more efficiently...
The good news is that Amazon finally decided to add 50% more RAM and also doubled (2X) the storage Memory !
The Best thing is that now the price is much lower, which makes these new Fire Tablets more affordable and appealing than other tablets brands !!
I already have an HD8 Fire (2015), but unfortunately due to a weaker CPU, the poorest Camera and Slower WiFi, compared with the last year model... I do not think I'll change my FireHD8 (2015) by this new 2016, because aside from memory and battery, I really can not find such big differences or improvements...

I totally agree on your comments about the processor, but what I meant was that Amazon must've taken advantage of this new hardware upgrade, to upgrade also the processor with a higher-speed, to help a little with the performance and operation of the NEW FireHD8 Tablet...
I already know that for watching or streaming videos, is not necessary to have a very fast processor, because all the newest tablets now bring hardware decoders and others separate components to help and accelerate these functions...
I am very happy with the new lower price, with the bigger Battery (12 hours), and with the addition of more RAM and Storage Memory, but I am very disappointed and don't understand why Amazon decided to lower the Front/Rear Cameras to 2MP/VGA, that was 5MP/720P on the previous 2016 model.
Another thing I do not understand is, why if most cheap Chinese tablets have GPS, none of the new Amazon Fire Tablets comes with GPS ?
Maybe this GPS function is not so necessary to some users, but it would be a very important addition !
However I think, as Elias already has mentioned on his excellent review in*www.aftvnews.com, that Amazon seems to now focus on selling best low-end tablets, at the lowest possible price:

"Amazon just announced their new Fire HD 8 tablet and in doing so, have dove deeper into their tablet strategy of: less is more. Amazon’s Fire Phone failure marks a turning point where the company stopped trying to go after the upper-end flagship hardware market, and started dominating the lower-end of the hardware spectrum. Last year’sline of new tablets reduced hardware specs across the board and cut prices by more than half. In doing so, they became Amazon’s best selling tablets to date, and include Amazon’s single best-selling device ever, the $49.99 Fire 7″ tablet, which incidentaly took the title of best-selling device from Amazon’s other budget device, the Fire TV Stick. This year’s new Fire HD 8 continues the trend of less is more."

I think we can say with certainty that the camera is a cost issue. Last years model was a lot more money. GPS though in addition to cost may be that because it doesn't have a cellular version, so having GPS is useless on the go. You you could tether with a phone, but that device always has GPS anyway, so it becomes pointless to have it on the Fire.
Very unusual, except the first gen (2011)
Amazon has released 3 new versions every Oct

Lollipop not Marshmellow

Hopefully someone that owns both the 2015 & 2016 models
reports back the exterior differences, so we can know how to tell them apart.

Keep in mind there is going to be an update soon after release to enable Alexa, which may update much more.
I have the new device here and looking forward to install google services/play store.
It's my first device with Fire Os so I am wondering if the tutorials for the 2015 model will apply for the new generation?

Got mine yesterday and was able to install the Play store using the method. I'm not yet able to posts links on here, but there's a good tutorial on YouTube called "Amazon Fire Tablet - Google Play Store without root (Fast & Easy)".
I hadn't thought I would want to install the Play Store, but the Amazon "Appstore" is missing one of the two apps I need to be able to run for work. (It used to be on Amazon, but is no longer supported.)
General impressions of the tablet: It's light enough, feels solid (but a little cheap), and has a display that is completely adequate for the price. I'm a teacher and I'm using it at school with my students and it's great for that. Good screen size.

Yes that works fine using rootjunky tool. I have the 2016 version, got play store up and running fine without any errors. Just need a root hack now

Is the old root method not working?
I think there is root for 5.3.1.0 firmware available.

I got the new Fire HD 8 6th Gen and in the developer options it has the OEM Unlocking option to unlock the bootloader.
Edit: I was able to turn it on and it stayed on, but after the update and going through setting up the tablet up, now its disabled and I cant turn it back on.

Yes, the unlock option is part of stock android, but that doesn't mean it will do anything

Interestingly, the Mediatek chip supports FM radio, does anybody know if Amazon uses it? There's nothing in the specs...
Another thing I noticed on my German language version Fire HD8 is that I kept searching for the Blutooth sttings, which are hidden under "WLAN". Is this also true for the English language versions?

Lollipop stock port for SM-T230/ Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 WiFi

The Galaxy Tab 4 is an amazing device in my opinion, and mine has survived water damage as well. But all of my other devices have Lollipop, and the Tab 4 does not. I like to make my own modifications, but I like to stay as close to OEM condition as possible. That's just what I'm used to. So I'd appreciate it if somebody could port the SM-T235 Lollipop 5.1.1 firmware to my Galaxy Tab 4, or tell me if I could flash the stock LTE firmware. Thanks.

could you make 6.0.1 for tab 4 or higher? our tab needs out of 4.4
I know, it's annoying. KitKat and Holo is good and all, but such a beautiful display deserves better (i.e. Material Design). Even the Tab 2 (I own one) has it, and it's ironic. That's why I'm starting work on an AOSP Marshmallow ROM (Nougat or Oreo if possible but no promises) for the SM-T230/NU. I don't have an LTE Tab, but I can do it for the Wi-Fi one. It'll take time, though. My laptop has low-spec hardware and is problematic, and doing stuff on it is annoying. That's why I was wondering about the Lollipop port in the first place, because I need this tablet more than ever.

I have a Tab 2 7.0 wifi (GT-P3113), Tab 4 7.0 wifi (SM-T230NU), and Nook HD (BNTV400).
I use UNOFFICIAL LineageOS 14.1 on Nook, stock (ROMs I make) for Tab 4.
My Nook is my main device.... I use Tab 2 sometimes, but mostly I update that to the weekly LineageOS 13 build. Tab 4, I only use if I don't have any other Android device (goes for any device to use). I also make ROMs for Tab 4 like CM 11 based ROM. That is my main goal, then I will try Mokee 4.4.4 for Tab 4 (no promises if it works). I heard you need 500+ GB Hard Drive, and 8 GB minium (that's if you want it to go slow for 8), and Ubuntu. But you can use Google Cloud. But that requires for you to add a credit card or a bank account. Could I see your GitHub for the AOSP Tab 4? And could I try it when it is done compiling? Thanks.
My laptop does have a 500gb hard drive, but it only has 4GB RAM. I'm syncing the Android source using UoW, but it's taking long, because of the code size. I have a Motorola Moto G, which is essentially a multimedia device, a Tab 2 with IR (spare tablet) and the Tab 4 is my daily driver. I haven't set up the GitHub yet, so I'll PM you when I do. This is my first project for XDA, so be patient. ☺
