If you’ve been feeling like your octa-core CPU hasn’t been keeping up with your standards, you’ll be glad to hear that MediaTek has you covered. Back in May we saw MediaTek announce their upcoming deca-core Helio X20 processor. A recent leak has revealed what may be the first device to carry the computing-monster SoC, the Elephone P9000.

MediaTek Helio X20, the processor with ten cores, in its architecture is going to have additional two ARM Cortex A72 cores to speed of 2.5 GHz that should bring improvement in the performance of the Cortex A57 that is used by the manufacturers of the eight core CPUs.
The interesting thing here is that the other eight cores are going to be ARM Cortex A53, four of which with a speed of 2.0 GHz and the other four with a speed of 1.4 GHz and will be used for doing the easy part because they have reduced power usage. Of course it is not really clear why use eight, when you have two super power cores, but from MediaTek say that this is going to be the most balanced processor on the market, in terms of usage and performances.
Helio X20 will continue to be made of transistors with a size of 28 mm, although, according to ARM, Cortex A72 should be made with a size of 16 NM to achieve the best performances.
Other rumored specs of the Elephone P9000 include a 5.5-inch display, 4GB RAM, 32Gb storage, 20.7MP camera, 8MP front shooter, dual-SIM compatibility with 4G functionality and a 3,100mAh battery, making it a competitive high-end design.. Given that MediaTek has mentioned that the MT6797 will be sampling to manufacturers in the latter half of 2015, an October launch window seems optimistic.
The P9000 could cost around $500 upon release and is expected to launch in various regions on October 20th. What do you think about this rumor?

Somewhat not truthful. Elephone website lists camera as only 13mp, not 21mp.

Have you been succesfull with the Ele Code? I entered it at gearbest and the price was 260$ instead 219$. Hope the support can solve this.
Do you have any idea what charger should I order with the phone? the first batch is only phone + usb-C cable

But pretty pricey too - note that they're keeping the Nexus 5 on sale
Seems it's Nexus 6 all along - wonder if there was any deal made with Philip K ****'s estate?
Anyway, these devices look triffic - check the battery on the Nexus 6 - Outstanding!
It's apparently gonna cost $649. I'll pass and get the N9 + N5

I also wanted the nexus 6 but my money does not allow me to ? so for me nexus 9!
Finally
I waited so long for this been rocking this galxy s3 all year waiting for the nexus 6.. I cant wait to have it in my hands...
Nexus 6 is pretty much heavy at 180g when Nexus 5 is 130g. Motorola Phones are usually heavy. For instance, Moto E is around 150g when it is a 4.3" device. I like the build quality of motorola phones though since the motorola L6.

AMOLED. That's a shame. So will burn eventually if I use it in a car for GPS (static screen elements, high brightness, high temperatures)
Specs directly from MOTO's site.
Qi wireless charging enabled! I wasn't excited about a 6 inch phone, but they've got some if the things I've been looking for, battery life (potentially) & Qi wireless charging. Plus the phone can be purchased directly from MOTO.
Does the nexus 6 sport a 64bit processor?

Nope, it's 32-bit since it uses Snapdragon 805. I would not worry about it though, it is a beastly SoC
It says the phone is water resistant
what is the difference between buying from play store and moto webiste?
Surprisingly no. The 805 is 32 bit. However, there's no apps that will take advantage of 64 bit in the mobile world. I expect that to change, but not for a while.
This is gonna be the best smartphone of the year

any release information on U.S ?
There are actually two main Zenfone 2 models, ZE551ML and ZE550ML, and many different variations within the same model.
Here are the spec sheets:
The US$199 price point is rumored to be the 720P ZE550ML with 2G/16G. 1G/8G models will only be available in limited select countries.
ZE551ML is definitely the preferred model, given the spec boosts. It includes brushed metal back cover(as oppose to matted),1080P, higher RAM range(2G or 4G), higher CPU range(z3560, z3580), quick charging and NFC.
Just waiting for reviews on basic things like call quality , mic quality , audio output , speaker performance , camera , video , GPS performance ...
I dont mint the 1.8GHz/2GB version ... 1.8GHz with that battery should be good ... I think its gonna be almost the same price as it was 1st launched i.e. 10k or so ... But let's C ...
Kudos to ASUS
Will this be available for Verizon, or just 'unlocked' for other networks like AT&T?
couldn't care less about that exaggerated 4GB RAM but the rest is something to look forward to
$200 for the 2gb version... maybe the 4 Gb version will cost less than 16K
Note that the prices are before any taxes ..And I have no idea how much it will cost after taxes here in India...

Is there not a set tax in India like there is in the US?
On another note, looks like bands 2 and 4 are Verizon networks, and this phone says it is supported there - but not sure if that means it will work with Verizon or not. Want to get rid of my S4, just wondering if I should jump on an LG G3 or wait for this.
But it is not on LTE 13, which is also Verizon and I guess their main? Fail. Oh well.
ASUS Poland confirmed that ZE551ML 2GB RAM, 16GB ROM will cost $199.

Reading those specs, you could assume there is Android 2.3 running on those phones...

Hahahaha yea these phones are quite awful. I sell them at a retail store and people only really buy them so they can wait for an upgrade from their carrier if their phone is broken. Blu also is just a re-branded version of Gionee phones. Blu buys them in bulk and puts their logo on them. The only blu phones that are even remotely worth taking a look at are the vivo series. They have decent specs for the price, but you can still get a oneplus one or a nexus 5 for around the same price point.

Actually the Studio 5 has a older version of KK
And from the little reading I've done it's up to 4.4.2... so, not bad for a inexpensive device.
I've had this phone for a year its a piece of crap memory is no good I've had to reset already twice I started with a 4.0 then got two 5.0 my wife phone already died it stopped charging my 4.0 had to be reset and doesn't work no more .so for the price of the phone it no good .
Is this Brand/phone even wirth buying for recreational purposes??

Hello, this may be redundant, but I initially searched for this phone on here to find out how it actually performed, was built, what company actually makes it, etc... It's a very low priced phone to buy straight up unlocked, and it looks kind of nice to me. But looks can be deceiving & I have never seen one in person, they're new to my eye's. I'm basically just looking for an extra phone to have besides my HTC One M8. Oh, and also my work phone an iPhone 5c, which is as we all know completely useless So, I was wondering since they are priced good if they r actually even worth buying? Since you sell them, would u recommend as an extra phone to play around with for customization purposes? Or, are they just cheaply made not even worth the time? I appreciate any opinion... Thx!!

[Q] Asus Fonepad 8 vs Zenpad 8

Hello all ! I am looking to buy a tablet, basically a second device to my primary phone (Samsung Galaxy s4). For me calling is a must in the tablet and I am not looking at beyond $300 price mark. I finalized on Asus Fonepad 8 (Model:FE380CG) and Asus's newer model, the Zenpad 8 (Model: Z380KL). Brief specs of both as follows:
Asus Fonepad 8 FE380CG and Zenpad 8 Z380KL common specs:
=================================================
8" HD display with 1280X800px resolution
4000 mAh battery
2 GB RAM DDR3
MicroSD card slot
WiFi b/g/n, bluetooth 4.0, GPS with Glonass
Cameras on both tablets are average at best
Dimensions and weight more or less similar and for me doesn't matter.
Android lollipop 5.0 on both
Now the Fonepad 8 Specs:
=====================
Processor: Intel Atom Z3530 quad core cpu 1.33Ghz 64-bit
GPU: Power VR G6430
Dual SIM 3G dual standby
Front firing stereo speakers
Camera 2mp front and 5 mp back
Zepnad 8 Z380KL Specs:
===================
Processor: Qualcomm Spandragon 615 Octa core 1.8Ghz 64-bit
GPU: Adreno 405
Single SIM 4G LTE
Front firing single speaker
Camera: 2mp front and 8 mp back
Now after reading a lot about both of them I find that in benchmarks the intel atom processor is ahead of snapdragon 615 and without any heating issues. Secondly the GPU with intel processor though only a mid range gpu is almost twice as fast than the adreno 405 with the Snapdragon 615. Plus the the fonepad 8 has dual sim and dual front firing speakers for good audio. The zenpad 8 comes with a audio cover accessory which is like $65 more. So overall I am really confused which one to get please help!.
My main criteria is Performance and battery life with good calling.
Please reply early as my second phone is dead already and need a urgent replacement. Thanks to all !!
Some Asus user, please answer ??
sure this is going to be the expired answer of mine, but i just want to share though, i was just at the same situation but finally opted for fonepad 8. i'm satisfied with the device since it has a very good perfomance, battery life and no serious heat issue for running 3D games..
