[Q] Asus Fonepad 8 vs Zenpad 8 - Asus Zenpad 8.0 Questions & Answers

Hello all ! I am looking to buy a tablet, basically a second device to my primary phone (Samsung Galaxy s4). For me calling is a must in the tablet and I am not looking at beyond $300 price mark. I finalized on Asus Fonepad 8 (Model:FE380CG) and Asus's newer model, the Zenpad 8 (Model: Z380KL). Brief specs of both as follows:
Asus Fonepad 8 FE380CG and Zenpad 8 Z380KL common specs:
=================================================
8" HD display with 1280X800px resolution
4000 mAh battery
2 GB RAM DDR3
MicroSD card slot
WiFi b/g/n, bluetooth 4.0, GPS with Glonass
Cameras on both tablets are average at best
Dimensions and weight more or less similar and for me doesn't matter.
Android lollipop 5.0 on both
Now the Fonepad 8 Specs:
=====================
Processor: Intel Atom Z3530 quad core cpu 1.33Ghz 64-bit
GPU: Power VR G6430
Dual SIM 3G dual standby
Front firing stereo speakers
Camera 2mp front and 5 mp back
Zepnad 8 Z380KL Specs:
===================
Processor: Qualcomm Spandragon 615 Octa core 1.8Ghz 64-bit
GPU: Adreno 405
Single SIM 4G LTE
Front firing single speaker
Camera: 2mp front and 8 mp back
Now after reading a lot about both of them I find that in benchmarks the intel atom processor is ahead of snapdragon 615 and without any heating issues. Secondly the GPU with intel processor though only a mid range gpu is almost twice as fast than the adreno 405 with the Snapdragon 615. Plus the the fonepad 8 has dual sim and dual front firing speakers for good audio. The zenpad 8 comes with a audio cover accessory which is like $65 more. So overall I am really confused which one to get please help!.
My main criteria is Performance and battery life with good calling.
Please reply early as my second phone is dead already and need a urgent replacement. Thanks to all !!

Some Asus user, please answer ??

sure this is going to be the expired answer of mine, but i just want to share though, i was just at the same situation but finally opted for fonepad 8. i'm satisfied with the device since it has a very good perfomance, battery life and no serious heat issue for running 3D games..

consider the budget inside $250 if its 1080p it would be IPS only and you would miss OLED screens 64 GB is impossible
lets talk what could happen
Don't expect below $300 for non LTE model.

Why not 410? It also supports 64 bit? And more important thing you will not get 610 in the current price rate.

just google it
410 is more battery efficient than 400 nothing great
check motorola 410 rumours benchmarks itz same as 400
only Adreno 306 not much difference
Lenovo made a $100 phone with 410
"Lenovo K3 Music Lemon"
64 Bit is of no use without 2GB ram

64-bit is useless if below 4GB RAM and the OS isn't 64-bit and/or the applications. Which most aren't.
@theoneofgod
yes i know but just consider the ""price point"".....4GB is impossible....check for ASUS zenfone 2 flagship 4GB variant for $300

I see a lot of comments like this. "Why bring out a new phone now that's not 64-bit" while those that are run on a 32-bit OS. It's silly

zenfone 2 or asus selfie?

Hello
i have samsung s5 and i want to try another brand
which one is better zenfone 2 or the new one asus selfie
i prefer selfie because front camera came with flash and wide angle
but zf2 have 4 GB of RAM and selfie 3 GB
but which one have better CPU ?
It's hard to find any worthwhile comparisons. The selfie is considerably different in that it's not Intel based. You get an 8-core 1.7GHz Snapdragon 615 with the Adreno 405 and 3GB RAM, although there appears to be a slightly cheaper 2GB model. Can't really compare CPUs because you didn't specify which ZF2 model. Some have a 1.8GHz quad core and others a 2.3GHz one. I couldn't really find anything comparing them anyway.
The GPU on the ZF2 appears to be quite a bit more powerful. It's supposedly very close to the Adreno 330. The 330 being the high end of the past gen while the 405 is the lower of the current gen. As for the 1GB less RAM, I wouldn't worry about that. 2GB is arguably enough as it is.
Pricing was hard to find too. As best as I can tell it'll be roughly the same same price as the 1.8GHz/4GB/32GB ZF2 model. All the other specs, except the front cam, look the same.
So far as I can see, you lose a little on the CPU/GPU/RAM but get a much better front cam. This is purely from a quick Google search session. Again, there are a lot of different ZF2 models, from a 1.8GHz/2GB/16GB/720p up to a 2.3GHz/4GB/64GB/1080p.
thanks but let us compare between zf2 Quad 4GB (Intel Atom Quad Core Z3580 (2.3GHz))
and selfie Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615
CPU Quad-core Cortex-A53 & Quad-core Cortex-A53
is there any comparison between this different cpu brand?
Selfie has 4G available on both sim slots, ZF2 doesn't even support data on second sim.
All i could i think of:
Pros of the selfie - Removable battery, great selfie cam with flash, laser autofocus, corning gorilla glass 4
Pros of the zenfone 2 4gb (intel atom z3580) - faster cpu, better general performance, great gpu.
Cons of the selfie - SD 615 performance doesn't even match up to the lower end zenfone 2 with the z3560 chipset, weak gpu, bigger than the zenfone 2
Cons of the zenfone 2- lacks all the pros of the selfie
Since you are coming from an S5 i think you value a removable battery but that's up to you.

Windows 10 on Lumia 540-like device (specwise) - CM Alpha Luxe

Greetings!
A local company in our country released a very affordable windows phone device, the Cherry Mobile Alpha Luxe, which I bought at a sale for just around $61. The specs of this device is very similar to the Lumia 540, it is as follows:
5.0 Inch HD IPS Display (720 × 1280 Pixels, 294 ppi)
Scratch Resistant DragonTrail Glass
Windows Phone 8.1 OS
1.2GHz Quad Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 Processor
Adreno 305 GPU
1GB of RAM
8GB Internal Storage
Expandable up to 32GB via MicroSD
8.0 Megapixel Autofocus Main Camera with LED Flash
2.0 Megapixel Front Camera
Dual SIM/Dual Standby
3G HSPA+, 2G EDGE and GPRS Networks
Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Hotspot
Bluetooth 4.0
GPS
FM Radio
MicroUSB
3.5mm Audio Jack
Accelerometer
2,000mAh Li-ion Battery
My question is, can I probably spoof or do something to get the windows 10 mobile dev preview installed in this unit using the software for Lumia 540?
I'm willing to give it a try if somebody is willing to teach me how.
Thanks and more power!
Actually, you can. But the problem it will be if you want to come back to WP 8.1
You can, its really easy to get it done, but its not really optimized, Im using it on my lumia 525 and its a bit slow.
How to play full hd video on Lumia 540
When I play video's has very lag with deferent players

redmi note 3 pro - it's newer, better hardware, snapdragon 650 (6 cores, gpu adreno 510 @ 600mhz, 64bit, better mobile support, 16mp camera, bigger battery - 4000 mah)
though don't get me wrong the snapdragon 801 that's in the MI note bamboo is nice but that cpu pretty outdated now, it's only 32bit, 4 cores, gpu adreno 330 @ 400mhz - and that cpu is a power hog, so I doubt a 3000mah battery would last long with that processor, it's known to run hot and be power hungry. -
I also have a device with the snapdragon 800, I can say the snapdragon 650 in the rn3p gives a much smoother web-browsing experience.

Honor 8 Pro Price in India, Full Specifications, Comparison

Honor has always been known as the brand that never compromises on the quality. Same goes with the Honor 8 Pro. With a powerful configuration, good battery and great internal storage, this one turns out to be a wonderful device. However, the main attraction has been its wonderful camera quality, of both primary and secondary, and 6GB RAM. So if you are looking for a powerful device, which has the best in class camera as well, check out this one. It is surely a value for money.
The camera phone
Display and Configuration
The Honor 8 Pro flaunts a large and brilliant 5.7-inch full HD IPS LCD screen with a display resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels which results in a sharp density of 515 pixels per inch. The capacitive touch screen responds well to multi-touch as well. The smartphone features a rear fingerprint scanner.
Under the bonnet, the smartphone features a pair of powerful quad-core Cortex A73 and Cortex A53 processors clocking at the speed of 2.4GHz and 1.8GHz respectively. The processor sits on HiSilicon Kirin 960 chipset and has been accompanied by 6GB RAM to ensure high-end gaming and multitasking. Moreover, Mali-G71 MP8 GPU takes care of the graphical requirements efficiently.
Camera and Storage
The Honor 8 Pro packs superb cameras, with the primary camera being the main attraction. The dual 12MP cameras, paired with Phase Detection autofocus, Dual-LED Flash produce crystal clear images. The front camera too follows close behind with an 8MP lens and 2.0f aperture.
This device provides an excellent storage option in form of a 128GB internal storage, which can be further expanded up to a massive 128GB with the help of a microSD card.
Battery and Connectivity
The Honor 8 Pro extracts all its fuel from a 4,000mAh Li-polymer type battery, which claims to render a long period of show time. It supports quick charging as well.
Turning to the connectivity department, the Honor smartphone features dual-SIM, 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11, b/g/n, mobile hotspot, Bluetooth v4.1, A-GPS, Near Field Connectivity, and type C USB port.
We know this from earlier this year
