[Q] LG G4C H525N Root? & General Discussion - LG G4c Questions & Answers

Hello All,
just wanted to start some ware for all the LG G4c Users to share info on Root guides etc etc,, and general discussions about the device, being a new device there's limited info available from what I have found and weather the Root process or tools used to Root work the same as its big brother the G4,,
So if you have any links or info on gaining Root on the G4c or even custom Roms if they exist yet!! again if there ported from G4 would they work possibly?,,

Got my G4c today, but really need root for security tracking software and link2SD since space is very small!
Hope someone will find a solution.

So its the low-end/affordable G series for the year? I'm sure the method will be identical.

I've asked this before but from what people have told me if it's a differently designed phone. It cant be rooted the same way. Though they might not know what their talking about so if anyones willing to try it out with theirs and tell us if it works here's a guide.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/discussion-unlock-root-situations-please-t3122752

They are pretty identical, but one is an MTK, the G4c is a snapdragon 401.I bought the G4 to see if it's really more powerfull even if a lot of reviews says that 1GB of ram is not enaught to make a fast experience like a G4, but I don't trust MTK so much (and I knew that the MTK model has line problem), plus this is LTE.
Actually I bought it for the cameras, if a root won't be out soon I'll send it back and I'll go for the MTK one.
Sorry for the OT, but I'm pretty tired of the very low quality of my S3 Neo cameras, I'll do some test tomorrow, but even tonight I had some shameful camera lags with the S3 neo... :-/

Looks like I'm the only one with that phone...actually I'm waiting for root to test it, but if the LG backup app will do a good job maybe I will try it this week.
The Huge problem is that I like to "clone" my phones apps with titanium and have them all even in the secondary phone, and I can't do that there since no root.
I just will check cameras and lagginess I have a month to send it back to amazon, if no solution will be found I'll switch to the cheaper MTK one even if I HATE mtk...

It's scam, to get the app you must compile a questionary and the app is scam otherwise somebody would alredy have been linked it!

we are still stuck, maybe because it's just an european version? I bought it on german amazon, if somebody would tell me that cameras are identical I would send it back and get the cheaper one instead, but actually I don't trust MTK, specially for signal and GPS

Actually we can survive unrooting, for adaware and cerberus, but the internal memory is 3GB and I can'r even restore the 4,6GB backup made from lg 4G since the card can be formatted only with FAT32 :-/
And the worts part is that LG backup is a SINGLE FILE!!!! I will try with other apps, I use it a secondary phone to take so nice selfie (s3neo both cameras are crap....) so if someone know ow to fit a 4,6GB gile int he fat32 let me know.
I already googled, but no answers: it's an european model and looks like the great coocker are from USA or asia Have a nice holiay!

[Q] Any information on an LG G4c (H525n) Root?

Hey there xda. I've recently obtained an LG G4c (H525n) phone and so far for power its been reliable. As for storage not so much. So i've been trying to find ways of rooting the thing so that I would be able to uninstall some of the bloatware stored on the device. Though as of so far nothing useful has turned up. There was this one website I found that did show a step by step guide of being able to do this, though the way of downloading a certain file needed for this process as well as the webpage itself looked very fishy to me. Though It could just be that I'm very paranoid and just need reasuring over it.
Here's the website name down below....
howto-root.info/2015/07/lg-g4c-7250
As well as this I found another article describing the method of rooting the LG G4. This is probably useless as they're both differently designed mobile devices. Though as the LG G4c is just a compact, cheaper version of the LG G4, does that mean that you can root them both the same way?
Heres the article...
naldotech.com/how-to-root-lg-g4-h815-using-supersu
So now i'm here just to ask if any of you guys here have any helpful information relating to this subject. As I need to root this device desperatley.
not that I know of
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/lg-g4c-h525n-root-discussion-t3145001 we are talking about that there, but as far now no solution
Such a schame that a €260 phone has 3GB free for appas...

Will there be root/xposed or ROMs for the x cam anytime sooner?

Hey guys,
I just bought one of the x cams and I was thinking if there would be root or xposed or even roms for this device anytime sooner?
Thnaks,
Charlie
BTW: Has anyone unlocked the bootloader?
ya i keep checking for x power, x cam and x style but no info yet that I have been able to find the full kernel source is out there for the x power though I may just build one custom and see if it will take once I can get the actual firmware to repair with just in case basically if that will work then it may work for the other X models too.
I think, that the major difficulty is to make the dual camera work fine.
I have a Lg X Cam and the rom is very stable. But if anybody start a custom rom i will liked.
Thanks,

Don't ever waste your time, the kingroot thing is bull****.
Kingroot, Shuame and other Chinese root/rom flashing tool has been telling lie about root & flashing for long, they just want to cheat you into installing their stupid software, in some case you may even brick your device because of these software.

dude your G4 looks refurbished one.
probably LG Sprint version MB with other version Access I think.
Sprint version have Root Only. they doesn't have TWRP or any other recovery.
so don't mess with your G4.
Play safe....:fingers-crossed:
Brother I understand what you are saying but I just cannot look at a phone without TWRP or a Custom ROM...I'm even willing to pay more if someone can do it.
I suggest you check your IMEI, If it's null or unusual, I think you better not mess with it, or you'll likely get bricked.

1) Is it possible to ROOT an ATT LG V20?
2) Is it easy? one-button approach far far off?
3) Do any phones that get rooted, NEED to be unlocked first??
4) Kali Nethunter on LG V20 a pipe dream? How about on a Galaxy S6,7?
4) If I got a new Samsung Galaxy S6,7 are these much easier and does it matter if they are Verizon or ATT??

1) answer is yes. Don't listen to the guy who said it's not. The Verizon, ATT, T-Mobile, and Sprint all have unlocked bootloaders and root.
2)No one click methods exists, but the method is not hard. Just follow the directions carefully and you'll be fine. Also, ask questions before proceeding to make sure you understand. We were all new at one point so don't be ashamed.
3)The process that exists currently actually unlocks the bootloader and roots the phone at the same time basically. You can skip rooting at the end by not doing the very last step but supposedly the phone will have some performance issues.
4)Not sure what Kali NewHunter is.
4)I can't really answer that either because I don't have experience with those devices.

Did I get the "wrong" V20 for rooting? H910 vs Other Variants.

Hi everyone, I decided to pick up a spare V20 as a walk around device (I won't use it as a phone, especially because you can't use HD voice on a custom Rom with the V20), just as a multi media player, camera, web browsing device, etc.
I picked up another V20 soely to root and put a custom rom on there to play with.
Any how, I saw this walk through for a recent walkthrough on rooting a V20, and apparently the H910 (at&t version) is harder/more tedious to root compared to the VS995 (verizon version):
Did I get the "wrong" V20 variant? Should I return it? Or is it still relatively easy to root the H910 and run a custom ROM in 2022?
TIA
No replies, has anyone bought a V20 lately and rooted? They still have a lot of them on ebay, though I question them, they seem to be refurbished but sold as "new".

Yeah you can Root the H910 and run a custom rom.
[ROOT] HOWTO: AT&T H910 up to v20g (FULLY TESTED)
Make a dump backup first before flashing the H915 KDZ file. Put it in a very safe place it has you EFS. That's what makes your phone work.
h910_root_pkg.zip "DirtySanta root package"
usb drivers for windows
Terminal Emulator for Android "f-droid Download APK at bottom of page"

Thanks for the insight and pointing me to the right direction @Darnrain1 !
On one of the H910's, I DEFINITELY want to put your custom rom on there and give it a run!
For now, I was trying to use one as a carry on device. However, with the way things are in my life right now, these projects will be in my backlog, haha... the main thing is, at least I have the hardware on hand.
I'll just leave them be for now. Slightly off topic, but I'd love to get my hands on a LG V50 as well one day. Nice camera, better speakers... though it still lacks the IR blaster, and most importantly, the ability to easily replace the battery. LG might have not been the best, but they certainly did some innovative/unique/great things in their tenure while in the smartphone space.
