Did you try rolling back the system to stock and then updating it? If you are root, lenovo updates usually do not work. Use the Intel Flashtool to flash the stock ROM, update, and then redo the root jig.
So far, that has been the only way to update my 1050L.

Guys, Did you use the intel phone flash tool tool to flash the stock rom? That should surely work. Going to SuperSU and full unroot usually does not always work.

I can't update my Yoga 2 8 as well. Where do you get the stock roms?

1. Install PhoneFlashTool 4.4.4.1 from here: http://pan.baidu.com/wap/link?uk=867...291514&third=0 (Click on the right button in Chinese to download)
2. Download your firmware (1050f or 1050l) depending
(1050F- https://mega.co.nz/#!eEth0YKI!tRcpe8...QTJ0W6V5k4ex_w )
(1050L-https://cloud.mail.ru/public/f22489d...6_WW21_ROW.rar )
(There are other links to the original firmware on lenovo russian forums, but I am unable to find those links at present)
3. Flash the stock rom. (http://androidxda.com/flash-stock-rom-using-intel-phone-flash-tool )
4. You will be now stock.
5. Check for update. Install the update
Once you have updated, root your device.

I tried flash stock rom and it does not work for me on yoga 2 8", update failed

Yep, same here. I successfully flashed the stock rom. But the update is still failing. Yogs 2 8.

Hello !
Please, if anyone can upload here factory.img from your tablet 1050F - > after that we all here we'll can install the new update firmware !
Please upload factory.img ONLY if you didn't performed a /data wipe .
( you can take a look into your /factory directory and if you'll see : busybox here, it means that you have not performed a /data wipe )
To be able to extract factory.img, first you must to be root , than please follow :
> adb shell
$ su
# dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p8 of=/data/local/tmp/factory.img
# exit
$ exit
> adb pull /data/local/tmp/factory.img
Thank you very much in advance !
Here is also my TWRP for Lenovo Yoga 2 1050F/L :

Thank you very much Choosen8, but your archive cannot be unpacked ! - did you tried to unpack the archive before uploading , because I cannot unpack ?
Anyway thanks for your intention
Yep, re-downloaded right now, and it seems that this time, I can unpacked , thanks again
Updated successfully to the last firmware : S000198_150422
Extracted system.img, boot.img, recovery.img & easyimage.zip from here : https://cloud.mail.ru/public/3xYFUNQWZnNp/YT2-1050F_S0187_150324_ROW.7z
Simple installation using only fastboot, with the device in bootloader mode :
> sudo fastboot flash boot boot.img
> sudo fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
> sudo fastboot flash system system.img
> sudo fastboot flash /data/easyimage.zip easyimage.zip
> sudo fastboot reboot
At this time ( device was downgraded to the old firmware : S000187_150324 ) , and System Update has found the new firmware : S000198_150422 - and also was successfully updated to the last firmware
Thanks again Choosen8, for your link :good:

You can also use the Intel Flash Tool for this. Instructions are in the root thread. @surdu_petru. No problem. Hope also for others that it will work.
Greetings

Thank you for your useful tips.
I will try and feedback soon.
Thanks a lot! It worked for me
Note that you don't have to relock the bootloader, it worked with it unlocked.
Also I heard it is recommended to wipe dalvik cache and cache partition after update.
There are two rules about which recovery you can use:
1) You must use the recovery for your exact model! It must also be from the same region! (recovery for A5_DUG Europe won't work for you if you have A5_DUG Asia_HK, or A5_UL any, etc.)
2) You must use the recovery from the version you are currently at OR the one you are updating to! (the recovery from 1.56.708.2 won't work if you are updating from 1.57.708.1 to 2.34.708.1, etc.)

I had a very similar error.
my guess is, because my phone is unlocked and modified using Link2SD and Xposed, there have been changes to the system. so It might be a good idea to flash an untouched 4.4.42 nandroid before trying to update.
That's what I did and I could update without a problem

you copy that recovery.img file to the folder where you keep your ADB/Fastboot files. then you reboot to bootloader and put your device in fastboot mode. then open a command prompt in your fastboot folder on your computer and type:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

K01a 5.0 root!!! :d :d :d

Hey guys!
I hope this is the right place and format for this post and I hope it comes in handy, I've tested this method on two (2) K01A's and can confirm it works.
Came across some instructions on a japanese forum to root Version WW_12.8.1.33 (5.0 Lollipop) on the K01A!
Download (ZenFoneRootKit_20150614.zip (by shakalaca)) - (I'm below ten posts and can't post links)
I'm running windows 7 with Minimal ADB and Fastboot installed, I unzipped the file to its installation directory
- (C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot)
Check that your tablet is running 12.8.1.33 in Settings -> About
If it is, go back into C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and double click on 'root.bat'
A command display appears with the words 'Press any key' so go ahead and do that and sit back.
Your K01A will reboot into fastboot and run some flashing commands and then reboot itself.
Viola, You have root and SuperSu installed!!
I've recently pulled my K01A out of storage for a new project. After updating to 5.0 I realized all the root options wouldn't work. Followed your directions and BOOM....root is active. Thanks!!
perfect!
Worked like a charm on my Asus Memo Pad 7 ME70CX with sw version 12.8.1.33
Thank you!
Now I'm going to remove all useless bloatware pre-installed
People!
To those above that have successfully rooted a K01A:
Please attach a working copy of ZenFoneRootKit_20150614.zip , and /or post the "hash" (MD5, etc) of the zip you used.
.
Thanks! it worked on my MeMo Pad 7 ME70CX. You can find the tool on this page: http://www.naldotech.com/how-to-root-asus-zenfone-2-with-1-click-root-tool/

I have successfully rooted my MP7 running WW_MeMO_Pad-12.8.1.41-20151112 using this guide.
1. Download and install Asus PCLink for the drivers: http://liveupdate01.asus.com/pub/ASUS/LiveUpdate/Release/ZenFone/APP/LinkRim/PCLinkSetup.exe
2. Open PCLink and make sure your device is detected and connects. Close PCLink once connected.
3. Download and extract ZenFoneRootKit_20150614: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B936USMlQhtKbmZLZDE3N1JMazA/view
4. Open CheckBeforeAction.bat from the extracted ZenFoneRootKit. If you get the confirmation that you're good to root, your device will reboot to bootloader and reboots again. Wait for it to "fully" boot.
5. Run Root.bat
6. MemoPad 7 is now rooted. :victory:

How are you getting 5.0? Whenever I try to do a system update on my K01A it says that 4.4.2 is the latest version.

If your already rooted on your current firmware, it probably won't show up.
I found out about the update online, wiped my tablet to factory, system update came through, took less than 20 minute's to install then I rerooted with this method
You could also just download the 5.0 rom from the Asus website, copy it to your sd card and rename it to k01a_sdupdate.zip, reboot to recovery and update manually.
Hope this helps!
I did a full wipe so I could install 5.0, but when I try to do a system update it says my system is up-to-date. What the hell?

SP FLASH TOOL Tutorial to install TWRP / Custom Recovery in Lenovo K3 Note

UPDATE: Hi. This is just to notify everyone that I am not maintaining or replying to comments in this thread anymore.
K3 note was one of my most favorite phone of all time, and will always be, but it's way too old now. I am using and doing 'research' on other devices now.
So please pardon me for not replying to you. But you can always find help regarding issues on tons of other places!
:highfive:

Installing custom recovery on K3 Note using SP Flash Tool
(COMPLETE TUTORIAL)
NOTE:
This post helps you if you need to:
1. Fix a bricked device
2. Install custom recovery to install custom rom later
3. Make your device bricked (if you do not follow this post correctly)
You will find the necessary files related to this post in the attachments
First, get your PC ready:
Download and Install "LenovoUsbDriver_v1.1.13.exe", then Restart pc.
Download and extract "SP_Flash_Tool" zip (I used v5.1820_Win, but you may try latest versions)
Link to download : https://spflashtools.com/category/windows
Open SP Flash Tool (Double click on flash_tool.exe from inside the SP Flash Tool folder)
Go to Options > Option... > Download > Tick "DA DL All with Checksum" > Close the options box
Close SP Flash Tool
Now, the flashing part:
Download and Extract "TWRP_v3.0.0-3_for_SP_Flash_Tool.zip" *
Open SP Flash Tool, and From "Download" Tab click on "Scatter-Loading"
Browse the TWRP v3.0.0-3 folder and select the "MT6752_Android_scatter.txt" file > Ok **
Click on "Download" icon
Completely turn off your phone (BUT DO NOT REMOVE BATTERY) and connect it to PC using usb cable.
Wait till the Process completes and a "Download ok" box will appear with a green tick. Disconnect the phone from cable.
Done!
Now press and hold VolumeUp+VolumeDown+PowerButton all three buttons at one untill you see the "TWRP" logo.
The phone will boot into custom recovery you just installed.
Check this screenshot for illustrated steps:

}
* The provided folder has TWRP v3.0.0-3 recovery in it
To flash other custom recoveries (Like CWM, or other TWRP versions), follow this:
i. Rename your recovery image file to "recovery.img"
ii. Replace the "recovery.img" file inside the folder from TWRP_v3.0.0-3_for_SP_Flash_Tool.zip with your "recovery.img"
iii. Continue from Step 7
** You can also flash ROW/CUSTOM roms (which are made ready for SP FLASH TOOL) using this method. For that, Just select the scatter file inside the ROM folder (IN STEP 8)
*** REMEMBER If you have a MARSHMALLOW (Android OS 6.0) rom: Marshmallow roms need to be flashed with patched boot image for custom recoveries. Go to the index thread of k50 note for the patched boot images.
And by the way, there's a thanks button below if you find this post helpful! :highfive:

If I flash TWRP in this way, am I going to destroy ROM that is currently installed?
Since, I am not born with knowledge of flashing custom recoveries/ROMs, is anyone willing to answer?

Please refer to these two links. There are multiple roms for k3 note. Different roms have slightly different installation processes.

You probably has a marshmallow rom. Marshmallow roms need to flash patched boot image for custom recoveries. Go to the index thread of k50 note for the patched boot images.

If you are rooted, you can do that. Without root this tutorial is the only way.
Only works for me when USB is plugged while holding volume up, else SP flashtool won't start and not responding.
I'm on ROW S327 at the moment. Will this method work for me? Thank you!

failed to flash twrp ox 3.1 (https://www.fshare.vn/file/8AH9KRVS4URW). I tried flash it using twrp 3.0.2.0, but failed too
Well, this is interesting.. The step-by-step guide is a bit confusing though. I will download and try the 'ol good method of flashing ROM, gapps and supersu. Hope it works!

here you go: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_Km0FbYnea1aDdIaTEydElhUkk/view?usp=sharing
twrp has not made it to 3 ox you have to use a downgrade to get a fresh start using unbrick method, (keep flashable backup via flashify) get twrp installed with the new (old) boot loader, flash cm14+ext. and you are done.
if you had cm13 or the likes, please confirm if you CAN upgrade to 14 before ox people start trying to install without knowing if it even has android 6 (last update i saw on the branch was from june 7 so idk)
teamwin does not have twrp for the ox 3 on oneplus x yet (on their releases anyway) so you have to follow some other process to downgrade to a twrp'able os (and a backup) before trying yo install this
if i see any info from people who have been able to update (and if it has android 7) i'll try to make a video on the process (in white, Texan english)
Please remove this page.

Did you try boot into it:

Seems like the guide says you have to boot into it, not flash it.

You're right. I tried fastboot boot twrp_for_ox_3.1.0.img instead of fastboot flash recovery twrp_for_ox_3.1.0.img and it booted into twrp_for_ox_3.1.0. But it still return an error when flash CM14, the same of twrp 3.0.2.0.

Looks like a successful install to me. Could you provide twrp logs?
With whose permission did you post this build here ? Don't you think there was a reason that even after a complete build of CM14 it was still not posted to the forums ?
I am asking you, as politely as possible, to remove the links and this fake procedure, when N is ready, it will be shared, you might find phony builds or legit but non working ones on the interweebz, that doesn't mean it gives you the right to share it just because you think its cool, because its not.
Take it down.
EDIT: Sure, if you build yourself and want to share it then you're more than welcome.
And then they will cry if things are broken !! Take it down folk !

This Build was just a test build, what made u think that i will not post it here on xda if the rom booted? We, the team are working to make it work but yeah dont post the builds from afh here, will update u all for sure when its done. I think it was my mistake to not to make that build private. -_-
It flashes successfully but doesn't boot, goes back into recovery. Still, great work.
congrats for succesfull starter build
hats off !!!!! to you guys ([/B]developers off this rom) :good:

Kindly refer to the developer's post, POST #16

[GUIDE][HOW-TO][6045I] Hoe to root after the OTA, the easy way!

I am not by any means responsable for any damage caused to your devise during this procedure!
I want to mention that I was root before the OTA. But I restore the backup that I had and updated to 6.0, I don't know if this is somehow relevant.
Things you'll need:
[TOOL] Sahara & Firehose - link
TWRP image - link
SuperSU Flashable Zip - link
Some free time.
Step 1:
Download the TWRP and follow this guide: [HOWTO] IDOL 4 6055. Installing TWRP recovery & get root access.
It is important that you make the backup of your recovery partition!
Step 2:
Hold Vol+ and PWR until you see the TWRP logo.
Tell TWRP to not touch your system partition!
Now do a Backup of "System Image" and "Boot", you can also make a backup of "EFS" if you want
Step 3:
Connect your phone to the computer and transfer the SuperSU zip
Step 4:
Go to TWRP -> Advanced -> Terminal
And type the follow code:
Code:
echo "SYSTEMLESS=true" > /data/.supersu
Step 5:
Make sure the .supersu file is in /data.
TWRP -> Advanced -> File Manager -> /data
Step 6:
Install SuperSU
TWRP -> Install
Choose the zip you downloaded and transfer in the step 3.
Step 7:
Reboot and you are done!
Remember: If something went wrong while flashing SuperSU, you can always restore your backup booting into TWRP.

Good question brother, maybe @josehdez01 and @DeckerSU have the answer, I´m not sure, but it will work if the method is for all 6045X. Ask them

Hello, in theory this should work for all 6045. If you follow the steps of the guide in the point one you should have a backup of your recovery partition. This way if twrp does not boot for you you just flash back the backup and nothing happened.
In the very likely case of success you shouldn't lose any data.
Anyone else tried this?
Will that work on the Idol 3 (4.7)? Any confirmations are appreciated!

-sigh- I'm just scared i'm going to brick my phone, I've never rooted before
Bump?
Should work with all variants. I used Sahara with a 6045Y multiple times and never had a problem. Your best bet is to make a backup, try it and if it bricks (very small chance) you can always restore with Mobile Upgrade Q
