You should be helping software developers make your EMUI OS tolerable and quit wasting money / time on gimmicks

I ordered the L24 5X from Amazon the day it was released on US retail market and received it 5 days later ---- RESULT = Great looking budget phone with advanced features.
As soon as I received it applied for bootloader unlock code which contrary to the experience suffered by many in this forum I received immediately and bootloader unlocked ---- RESULT = Ok so this company honors it's promises (sorry for the pun).
Set to work and created 8+ alternative boot logos and later a complete Tutorial on how to create and install boot logos on the L24 ---- RESULT = Felt quite happy about this after fighting the most unhelpful and unfriendly OS (EMUI) I have ever come up against in 5 years experience of making logos and animations for several different phones and tablets.
Thought this horror of an OS was a temporary aberration which Huawei would sort out ---- RESULT = Wrong about this assumption everyone still awaits Huawei's release of source code.
CONCLUSION ---- Two days ago took my erratically misbehaving L24 out to my patio and armed with a hammer "smashed the F***" out of it and disposed of the bits in my waste bin. Sorry it came to this because at first sight when first unboxed it looked great but Huawei support is non existent and it's OS is crap.
I know I already posted a thread basically saying that the Honor 5X won't be getting Android 7.x Nougat in the USA, but this is for the USA, I am unaware about other regions. So after having a conversation with a Honor USA representative named David B, my morale and skepticism of the support for the device went up and left me quite re-assured where I was satisfied. Here is the conversation:

We get that one a lot.
I believe at this time there are no plans for it.

Will it be possible in the future if that is so? Because I was told by another support representative that it will top off at the current 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
And that only the Honor 8 will get it.

I would have to agree with them at this point. We havent gotten any news of an update to 7.0 for the 5x.
I believe the Honor 8 and 6P are getting 7.0.

Ah ok, well if that is the case, will the Honor 5X still be support with software updates for the software like the EMUI and android security patches and more things?
Because me along with a lot of others are still stuck on a outdated Android Security patch, which is the May 1st one, and there recently was news that Huawei, the Company that owns Honor, just fired or "downsized" the Honor USA team.
So I'm quite skeptical on if the Honor 5X will be supported anymore, despite your company promising up to 24 months of support for the 2 devices (Honor 5X/8)

That info has not been made available to me. As far as I know, the Honor 5x and 8 are our big guns right now so I cannot see support ending any time soon.
Plus I like my job and hope this isnt true!

Ah ok, well, at least that provides me with more positive moral and reinforcement then what I've read from some other news and tech outlets that wrote about this.
I'm just concerned because I haven't gotten any type of software update for my device in well over a few months.

No reason to worry sir. We just moved to a center that is 5 times the size of our old one and the Honor campaign is hiring lots of people.

As far as I know there is a patch in the works but I don't have a time frame for that.

SO IF YOU TL : DRed it, here is basically what this post is mainly about. I checked with some Honor USA support representatives regarding if the Honor 5X (KIW-L24) was going to get Android 7.x Nougat in the future, and one said no, and this one basically said no too, but this representative was very transparent and kind enough to provide additional information on sort of how the situation is going on with the company and the 2 phones and their development so far. So thumps up for this one and the other AND the company for having pretty good customer service despites being a budget phone and a small company of a big one (Huawei>Honor) (Still waiting for KIW-L24 to get updates, still on CUST567D003 and May security patch xD)
Good job to Honor for the good customer support (again x2) and this representative and notifying that support for the device is at least high in priority. Hoping for a new OTA update for the device to include fixes/new features/Android Security Patch soon!!!

Seems Honor 7X was a hit in the last few months, and Honor is coming up with a decent new phone View 10, a flagship one. How are the three phones in function, durability or affordability? Will Honor really be a xiaomi killer in 2018? What do you guys think?

There is rumors and there is fact. Emui / Hauwei is talking about only oreo for kirkin 60 and up. Hauwei wants to adapt oreo features and virtual desktop to work with noughat OS. Thats not that cool to do and leave us on nougjat , especially when HONOR low price phones from a few years ago ARE getting factory updates to oreo. Considering us mate 8 owners paid a very pricy price tag to buy mate 8 and also are so called vip customers why don't we get what we deserve. ? Mate 8 can run oreo easily. What is sucks about mate 8 is the crappy video card ... Video card is the reason hauwei is trying to avoid mt8 oreo. Fact . hope it makes sense.
