cheers, I need the WiFi 32GB variant though...
EDIT: currently downloading the firmware.

Flashtool has no Z3 tablet profile when creating ftf.
is there a update or?
Edit: added the Z3 and created the FTF. flashing now

So flashing the so called ftf is an official way to update (besides the waiting gazillion years for OTA of course)?

first time I've flashed a Sony device... how did you get round the Create part? I choose a Z3 build as the compact isn't there but I'm not 100% sure what I should be putting?

== How To add Z3 Tablet Compact to Flashtool ==
- Download Flashtool device folder: SGP6XX folder https://mega.co.nz/#!vNxnzTYY!55KS43vcbaIccXGiqvBluzaAx3_hDp5Xn33c_YnY1PQ
- Open Flashtool first (It checks online for new devices and erases the SGP6XX folder every time)
- unzip the device folder so you have this structure: C:/Flashtool/Devices/SGP6XX
- Flashtool recognises the SGP6XX now
Because of the automatic online check, it deletes the device folder each time and you have to add it again each time. (set device sync to offline to prevent this)

Here is the rom i created from XperiFirm and Flashtool.
It's only for the 16Gb WiFi version!!

4G version in Finland and just noticed that update is available. I am quite excited since got Lollipop to my Z3 yesterday and it is really much better and looks nicer than KitKat.

cheers for this, I've got the 32GB Variant but although I see the ftf file created when I got to flash it it doesn't appear in the list, just the X10... any ideas?

I just got my Z3 Tablet. I downloaded Xenn0X ftf file, put it in the correct folder and now I want to flash my device. I connected the tablet to the PC, pressed the flash button and now I have a window which tells me to put the tablet into flashmode. I did that (press volumn down after power button, right?), but nothing’s happening.

I'm happy to hear that we have now lollipop but what about root and exposed+gravity box any news about that. I would like to update but unless there is a root and exposed I'll just have to wait for a little bit more.

Yes you need to disable driver signing and install the correct drivers.

I tried that but that didn’t work for me (but I only used the bcdedit method). I’ll try it on my Mac now, and if that should work as well I’ll put my Windows in test mode via the other method.
EDIT: I’ve turned on USB-debugging, now my tablet gets recognized by the flashtool.

Oh here this is the guide you'll want to fallow in rooting your phone easy as it gets with pics and everything.
Easy root
I tried them.... It requires my device ID. How can I do that when I can't go inside my phone!? So what I did was I copied the Device ID.txt when I last rooted to the X10Flash_Unbrick folder. The problem is not solved. Please check the image.

You don't get your device ID from the phone you get it from your PC. Make sure you use the same USB plug everytime you connect your phone to your PC. I would download the auto device ID finder and install it as per instructions and run from step 1 again.
Also are you on a 32 bit OS or 64 bit OS, if your on a 64 bit you might be having issues with Java which requires you to install java pacs.

[TOOL] [UPDATE 21/12/2016] Flashtool version 0.9.23.0 - Windows / Linux / Mac
Hi,
I will take the lead on releases of this tool as Bin4ry will have less time to work on it.
For all flashtool informations (download links, changelog, screenshot gallery, FAQ, Firmwares repository) go to the Flashtool Homepage
Flashtool sources are on github : Androxyde repositories
WARNING : Since Xperia Z, sony added a new set of files I called bootbundle. Those files can be bundled from 0.9.13 and can be flashed from 0.9.13 only. To all those flashing devices from Z edition to all after Z, it is highly advised to use 0.9.13 and to be sure FTF you flash contain the bootbundle set. I've been reported of hard bricks because of missing such set of files from bundles.
I WANT TO GET YOUR ATTENTION ABOUT THE LATEST BRANCH 0.9.19. Without FSC, the tool will by default include simlock.ta if this file is present in the FTF. The result will be a bricked phone
As a workaround, until I release a patch, please please tick the exlude simlock.ta if you see it in the list.
0.9.19.6 fixes the simlock.ta issue. This file is by default excluded. Then it will not be flashed until you explicitely untick the exlcude simlock box. Do it at your own risk.

I downloaded it fine. Though in my attempt at flashing the multi-touch I clicked "customize" and "optimize" first and now my phone won't boot. it just sticks at the Sony Ericsson screen. I am on the 2.2 FreeX10.... did I do summut wrong?
I can't download it, because my virusscanner keeps saying it's dangerous, and deletes it
Edit: Fixed problem. Please delete.
Nothing wrong with the files. Virus scanners sometimes are a pain in the behind.
It seems I've got the phone rooted now. Just going to check it. Now, of to find a good rom

the notification led has to get green, and the it shoudl be in flash mode.
dont know if it is right at this time
just try.
nope, does not work, phone reboots like normal.
Please help...
I have a question.. After I have connected my phone in flashmode and connected it to the flash tool..it's switching the phone back on then when I try to flash the DualTouch it says it's done it.. but then when I reboot and try it.. it doesn't register 2 touches.. so what's wrong?
Did you try a multi touch tester app from the market?

Turn off the phone and remove it from the usb cabel, after that press the back button, and connect it to the usb, you'll see green light and you have few seconds to connect it to the flashtool.

Yes it but it has some strangeness, but in apps it works fine, i tested in gangstar mv, and angry birds and will now test it in some fps's like nova modern combat and brothers in arms 2. In the browser it doesn't work, in opera mini - works.
The content of Dualtouch folder go to inside the "Firmwares/my-firmware/" folder?
So...
Should then replace the file "Kernel.sin" and add to that same folder (firmware / my-firmware) file "content.properties" into original folder firmware?
This is correct?

[TUTORIAL] HOW TO FLASH STOCK ROMs WITH FLASHTOOL

I would like to thank Androxyde for the FlashTool!!
***BEFORE YOU FOLLOW THIS TUTORIAL MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE INSTALLED SONY PC COMPANION ON YOUR PC***
HOW TO FLASH STOCK FIRMWARE (.FTF/ROM) ON YOUR XPERIA Z
1: First of all you need to make sure you download the LATEST Flashtool from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2162907
If it is your first time for your phone on the PC, install the flashmode driver, and then get the HW detection to work. Eg, install the driver, then turn off your phone, and then hold down the Down volume button and plug it in – windows will then go into hw detection and install the driver for the phone. It will try to check online, so skip that, and it will install the proper driver you just locally installed. Thanks to Mobe1969 from the Whirlpool forumNOTE: Been seeing people having problems flashing stock .253 based ROMs. Thanks to gm007 for suggesting to use the beta4 version of FlashTool if flashing stock .253 ROMs. You can download beta4 version from here http://goo.im/devs/jerdog/sony
Install Flashtool and install the drivers for the XZ Please see picture below:

2: Once installation is complete, navigate to the folder where FlashTool is installed as shown in the picture below
2a: This is optional if you want to create a shortcut to the desktop
3: Now install the driver for the Xperia Z. The driver installer can be found in the FlashTool folder See pictures below:
4: Now for Flashing your Xperia Z. You will need to download the STOCK .ftf (firmware/ROM) and place it in the firmware folder located in the flashtool folder

PART 2: Driver installation in Windows 8
Okay since people are having trouble installing drivers for the Xperia Z in Windows 8. I made a tutorial on how to install the Xperia Z driver using the FlashTool in Windows 8.
As shown in the picture below when you try to install the drivers for the Xperia Z in Windows 8 for the first time this is what happens:
As you can see the drivers didn't install:
So here are the steps to install the drivers:
Step 1: Go to "Settings" (if you don't know how to do this, place your mouse pointer in the upper right corner or bottom right corner of your screen and the sidebar should pop out as shown in the picture below):
Step 2: Click on "Change PC settings" as shown in the picture below:
Step 3: When you get to this screen, scroll down to "Advanced start-up" and click the "Restart now" tab. See picture below:
Step 4: When your PC restarts and goes to this screen click on "Troubleshoot" as shown in the picture below:
Step 5: Now click on "Advanced options" as shown in the picture below:
Step 6: Now click on "Start-up Settings" as shown in the picture below:
Step 7: When you get to this screen, click on the "Restart" tab as shown in the picture below:
Step 8: Okay when you get to this screen just hit the "F7" on your keyboard:
Step 9: Now go and reinstall the driver for the Xperia Z. When you get this pop-up window, please select "Install this driver software anyway" as shown in the picture below:
The process will look like this:
As you can see in the last picture that the drivers are now installed.
I hope that helps out people who are new to flashing the Xperia Z
Good work, just add tutorial in the title.

Well the stock ROMs are all over the place. Some are in the Android development thread and some in general thread. So people will have find the what stock ROM they want.
Awesome tutorial!
Great tutorial, you have my thanks :good:
Now a bit off topic if I may: having a carrier branded phone, if i flash one of the generic ROMs does it mean that:
1. I'll get rid of all the carrier bloatware?
2. My updates won't be conditioned by the carrier anymore (as in I will get my updates whenever the region the FTF is from gets them)?
My apologies if this has been clarified somewhere else (I couldn't find any definitive answers)
I have the attached problem, Can any one help?

Is everything stock?
Bootloader locked?
Are the drivers installed?
Did you turn the phone OFF and connect the USB cable while holding down the volume DOWN button?

Use beta5 from here , and apply update to beta6 from here. With previous beta, loader was not included in the FTF, in such case, loader is deducted from phone infos. In your case, your phone infos are not present.
loader is selected with this priority list : first ftf bundle then phone infos.
in beta6, I added a fallback to device list user input to select the right device manually and such the right loader.

[Help] Repacking .zip file ROM into .nb0 file with heineken tool

Hello, I am trying to fix my bricked phone but I do not know how to repack the files to flash them with the OST. I have the program (crack by heineken) and the Android 7.1.1 stock ROM .zip. When I try to choose my unpacked .zip it tells "error: list not exist" and in the post where I got the tool it tells "edit files "list" of unpacked nb0 image, remove .md5 file from list". How do I create this list from my .zip file?
Thank you for your help and apologys for bothering you with such simple question but I don´t know much about this.

Just delete '*'s. I am not responsible for the files that are here. You also could just google for ND1-3700-0-00WW-B03.nb0 or ND1-3320-0-00WW-B03.nb0
3320 should give you 2017 June's version, 3700 should give you state after the October's patch (the one with the RAM management bug).
Or vice versa. I assume higher number is newer version

I would suggest you to flash this nbo with OST LA. Just download and extract the archive and then you'll see the nbo rom. That worked for me. Hopefully for you too.
Good luck and have a nice day!

I am sorry for bothering you again, but I have run into new problem. When I start flashing process it works for short but then it says "reflashing service bootloader" and progress bar will not move anymore even after having computer and program on for one night. Before starting flashing I clicked "edit device information" and waited for error to appear and my flashing settings is "normal download; check device ap status". Do you know what do to?
BotoxNoob said:
What do you mean with "flashing settings"? I could send you a video tutorial how to unbrick your phone. Here is the link. Follow the guide. It's very simple. Hopefully I could help you and please tell me, where you can set up the "flashing settings".
Thanks

My version of OST is 6.1.2 and it has options to choose between choosing file and the process starting. The settings I have are the default choosed by the program itself when you run it.
BotoxNoob said:
OST 6.1.2 doesn't work. You have to use OST 6.0.4. I think, that's the problem. Please report me the result and good luck.

With the OST version 6.0.4. it get stuck on "flashing partition: ABOOT" then it stops and tells;
error code: 0xc6da
error: download fails
error=se_er_adb_cmd_get_fail_ result (0xc6da)
Again I am sorry if this is easy to fix problem and I am just stupid.

I have downloaded this too. But what I have to do with it?

Go to "C:/adb" and then drag all the files from the platform tools.zip in the "C:/adb" directory. Overwrite the files if you get asked.
Now, please try flashing with OST again.

OK. Please delete the "C:/adb" folder. I'll send you an other reply, and then it should work.

Hello,
I hope this will finally fix your problem.
Make shure, you've deleted the "C:/adb" folder.
Let's start
First of all, download the 15 seconds adb installer.
Execute it and always press "Y" and confirm everything.
Once you've done that, download the latest "Platform Tools" (for windows).
After downloading, extract the archive. Now drag all the files from the "platform-tools_r28.0.1-windows" directory to the "C:/adb" directory. Overwrite all files if you get asked.
Now, boot your phone in "Download Mode" and connect it to your PC.
Open OST 6.0.2, click "Edit Phone Information", wait until it's done and then flash the nbo rom to your device.
If that does'nt work, I could help you via TeamViewer.
But no matter, good luck and report me the result.

There still is same error as always. Problem is my phone does not boot so I can not change setting for USB debugging. But now I have ADB program installed and I can wipe partition with if it corrupted, no?
BotoxNoob said:
Do you mean that USB Debugging is not enabled?

No. I never used it before phone stopped working so I never turned on.
Also, it start in downlaod mode when I plug it to PC.
And how can you not delete files by external access when device is turned off? This sounds like bad joke.
BotoxNoob said:
The problem is, for flashing partitions, you need an unlocked bootloader. But there's no official (and no free unofficial) way to unlock the bootloader on the Nokia 5. It's not a bad joke.

Think about windows doing this. After BSOD/crash/update error, for whatever reason, PC does not boot so you want to enter BIOS but it tells you to log in the administrator account. But you can not log in because all you can reach is POST screen (the black with the cpu and hardware information written). Would that not be stupid?
Also, you mentioned unofficial way? Nokia repair people did not find problem so this looks like only way for me. Can you tell me more?
BotoxNoob said:
....
That costs 5$. So, do you really want to buy this unlock file? I can't guarantee that this will help you.

Hi and thank you.
So to resum:
1/ I just have to make full-backup of my HU (maybe if i got some problem) with SPF Tool and a USB-A/USB-A cord
2/ Put the firmware you give with extract in usb-key with winrar
3/ Put the usb-key in the cord plug of the HU
4/ Push the reset smal buton to reboot the HU and wait....
5/ when i see all correct i unplug the usb-key and make reset small buton again...
So i don't have to decompil/compil something and my HU stay in root then and if i want i put a
dancing animationboot after directly with usb-key or change what i need other..
For remember my HU is YT9216B XYAUTO3.1 8227L-demo with ddr1g Flash16g

you can try pressing rst button but
i don`t think you require to press the rst button on your device just plug the usb before you start the device and it will automatically detect if it does not detect then restart your device and keep tapping on screen until you get a message on top left corner about update.

Thank you for your help.
i hop yes . i learn more and more Tuto .
But if there is an automatique tool i'm open..
(in some firmware informatique part like Dvd/Burn player just have to plug the item then start and recognise the name, push start backup and save to a folder,
then go to choose the new firm and push inject buton...
But for Android i'm very nooby...
Make a Full Backup/Memory Dump:
Open SPFlashtool, Select Memory Test Tab, Select only RAM Test (uncheck the rest), push start, and connect the unit. Save the information appeared,
in a text file for later. (Read above "Memory dump procedure" for the usb connection setup).
Now go to ReadBack Tab, Double click on empty space next to tick mark, Select a folder where you want to store the dump file,
and Type a name for the dump file you are going to creat, (ie. Boot_1, Boot_2, USER). Click Save.
In next window "Readback block start address", select the region you want to make backup of (ie. EMMC_BOOT_1, EMMC_BOOT_2, EMMC_USER).
Start address is 0x0000000000000000
Length copy and paste from the text file you created earlier.
typically for Boot_1 and 2 the length is 0x0000000000400000
and for USER (16GB models) the length is 0x00000003a8000000
Click OK.
Now click on Readback and then connect the unit via usb cable. and Read process will start.
Do the same to make backup of all three partions. USER will take long time because its the largest partition.
That is the processing i see in the notice SPFlash-tool..
Thanks again .
To complete my HU and custom it, i find a "Lucky Boot Animator (beta 1)" and i make some easely, i just have to test
them
