[TOOL] [UPDATE 04/09/2015] Flashtool version 0.9.19.10 - Windows / Linux / Mac - Sony Cross-Device General

[TOOL] [UPDATE 21/12/2016] Flashtool version 0.9.23.0 - Windows / Linux / Mac
Hi,
I will take the lead on releases of this tool as Bin4ry will have less time to work on it.
For all flashtool informations (download links, changelog, screenshot gallery, FAQ, Firmwares repository) go to the Flashtool Homepage
Flashtool sources are on github : Androxyde repositories
WARNING : Since Xperia Z, sony added a new set of files I called bootbundle. Those files can be bundled from 0.9.13 and can be flashed from 0.9.13 only. To all those flashing devices from Z edition to all after Z, it is highly advised to use 0.9.13 and to be sure FTF you flash contain the bootbundle set. I've been reported of hard bricks because of missing such set of files from bundles.
I WANT TO GET YOUR ATTENTION ABOUT THE LATEST BRANCH 0.9.19. Without FSC, the tool will by default include simlock.ta if this file is present in the FTF. The result will be a bricked phone
As a workaround, until I release a patch, please please tick the exlude simlock.ta if you see it in the list.
0.9.19.6 fixes the simlock.ta issue. This file is by default excluded. Then it will not be flashed until you explicitely untick the exlcude simlock box. Do it at your own risk.

Thanks for link

I downloaded it fine. Though in my attempt at flashing the multi-touch I clicked "customize" and "optimize" first and now my phone won't boot. it just sticks at the Sony Ericsson screen. I am on the 2.2 FreeX10.... did I do summut wrong?

I can't download it, because my virusscanner keeps saying it's dangerous, and deletes it

Edit: Fixed problem. Please delete.

Nothing wrong with the files. Virus scanners sometimes are a pain in the behind.
It seems I've got the phone rooted now. Just going to check it. Now, of to find a good rom
edit: I thought it was rooted, but it doesn't seem so.

dont know if it is right, but earlier to get into the flashmode u have to shutdown your device.
keep it off for a few seconds.
hold down the back button, and connect the usb cable. keep on holding the back button.
the notification led has to get green, and the it shoudl be in flash mode.
dont know if it is right at this time
just try.

nope, does not work, phone reboots like normal.
Please help...

I have a question.. After I have connected my phone in flashmode and connected it to the flash tool..it's switching the phone back on then when I try to flash the DualTouch it says it's done it.. but then when I reboot and try it.. it doesn't register 2 touches.. so what's wrong?

Did you try a multi touch tester app from the market?

Turn off the phone and remove it from the usb cabel, after that press the back button, and connect it to the usb, you'll see green light and you have few seconds to connect it to the flashtool.

Yes it but it has some strangeness, but in apps it works fine, i tested in gangstar mv, and angry birds and will now test it in some fps's like nova modern combat and brothers in arms 2. In the browser it doesn't work, in opera mini - works.

The content of Dualtouch folder go to inside the "Firmwares/my-firmware/" folder?
So...
Should then replace the file "Kernel.sin" and add to that same folder (firmware / my-firmware) file "content.properties" into original folder firmware?
This is correct?

flashtools.exe mirror link
I make a mirror of it on Singapore server.

Bricked X10, help please!

Hi guys, I tried to debrand my x10i to the UK generic firmware today using this guide : xperiax10.net/2010/04/14/debrand-your-xperia-x10-tutorial/comment-page-1 Once the software had installed and the update service said it was complete i tried to restart my phone. The phone took a long time to begin to start up but after the sony ericsson screen i got a yellow exclamation mark.
I've tried doing what it says at the end of the guide to solve this but even after deleting the full '13740270’ folder the update service says my phone software is up to date and the only option is to exit(no option to re-install software).
I also tried installing the pc companion to see if i could do anything with it but i can't do anything with it cause i can't start the phone to 'mount' it.
I've also now downloaded the flash tool that is mentioned but I can't follow the Howto.txt file.
Here's a copy of it: Hi,
Loader.sin must be there. All other sin files are optional.
1.) Open regedit and search the String :
"USB\Vid_0fce&Pid_adde\"
You will find the "DeviceInstance" should look like this :
"USB\Vid_0fce&Pid_adde\1&23cfa456&7&8"
copy the last part "1&23cfa456&7&8" into the DeviceID.txt file. Don't paste any free lines/blocks before or after!
2.) Start X10flash.bat
3.) Connect X10 in flash Mode:
a) Power down
b) Hold "back" Key
c) conncet USB cradle on PC
If the LED is green everythin is good!
4.) Press ENTER
Can anyone help me out of this mess please? All help would be great.
Sorry for such a long post, i'm freaking out here!
just flash everything not just the loader.sin
What part don't you understand of the howto?
Its still fixable, its happen to me before!
just follow the method mentioned and u'l b fine. I'm new to this stuff and I managed to do it so I'm sure you can pull it of an all.. hope all works out well for ya!!

I opened regedit on my pc and searched for the string but I found 2 strings, one with the device instance 5&d5a958b&0&1 and the other was 5&279093f8&0&1.
I tried using the first instance and followed the instructions but it was still not working. As soon as the i hit enter after i've put the phone in flash mode I got this error: imagebam.com/image/8b6dd486702065 (check the link, i can't post them just now as i'm new) and then the phone come out of flash mode, tries to restart and goesback to the yellow exclamation mark!
I then tried the other device instance and had the exact same problem.
Anyone able to help me?

Try the second string.
I had 2 strings as well and the second worked for me.
I tried both of the strings but i got the same error that i posted in the pic before during the flashing for both of them.
I'm doing it exactly as it says to in the howto file.

Just tried that and i'm having the same problem, does anyone have any other ideas or would anyone recommend using the davinciteam to reflash it?
Edit: Can someone confirm that i don't need to put the firmware files into the same folder when i'm trying to use x10flash.bat?
Sure the files must be in same directory.
If you have problems try using omnius.
Regards
Thanks, Omnius worked for me and i've now gone from having a half dead phone to having the latest update!
Thanks to everyone that helped me out!

Oh here this is the guide you'll want to fallow in rooting your phone easy as it gets with pics and everything.
Easy root
I tried them.... It requires my device ID. How can I do that when I can't go inside my phone!? So what I did was I copied the Device ID.txt when I last rooted to the X10Flash_Unbrick folder. The problem is not solved. Please check the image.

You don't get your device ID from the phone you get it from your PC. Make sure you use the same USB plug everytime you connect your phone to your PC. I would download the auto device ID finder and install it as per instructions and run from step 1 again.
Also are you on a 32 bit OS or 64 bit OS, if your on a 64 bit you might be having issues with Java which requires you to install java pacs.

Unbrand Question

Greetings people ^ First of all Hi,im new to XDA
Awesome forum btw.
My question is : I have a SE X10i branded in Spain, Vodafone ES ...on R2BA024 (i think) and i wanna unbrand it to SE X10i UK Generic R2BA020 (That way i can get the 2.1 update faster, cause vodafone will take alot i think to get it rolling around)
Will it all work perfectly? I mean, will i concur with any problems?
Thanks in advance ^^
PS : My SIM Lock is off so i think ill be able to use any SIM i got
PS2: Sorry if this has been asked already ,i just couldnt find any posts regarding this.
I'm unlocked but branded Vodafone UK, build R2BA024 and would like some help in debranding too - so I can get the 2.1 faster.
I'm not sure how to debrand and what method will work
I have however managed to get root and have superuser permission (so i'm not a complete blonde)
Any help would be greatly appreciated
tia x
P.S. Hello and welcome xtrmshadow , I hope you dont mind me piggybacking your post
Please search the forums first before opening a new thread.

There seems to be a lot of questions regarding the steps laid out in the official thread, so here I'll try doing a STEP BY STEP guide for those who are confused with the steps.
I borrowed some stuff from the original guide, so thanks Bin4ry, jerpelea and biktor_gj for everything!
NOTE: Before you begin, you should know that this process will wipe everything off your phone. So backup your contacts, and text messages and everything on your phone! Download a free backup program from the market to make backups onto your SD card, and after you're done everything, download that program again and restore everything from SD card. Your SD card remains fine.
1) Install SEUS (Sony Ericsson Update Service).
You can get it from here: http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/download/1/110/61/1275980198/Update_Service_Setup-2.10.6.21.exe
2) Run SEUS, follow the prompts. You don't need to update the phone through it, but get the phone ready for updating. This process should install the drivers necessary for the rooting process.
Note: I suggest you keep your USB cable attached to that USB port. Remember which USB port of your computer it's attached to, as changing USB ports can lead to a bit of confusion for the next 2 steps!
3) To check if #2 was successful, click on Start, click Run, and type: regedit
In the Registry Editor that pops up, click on Computer, press CTRL+F, and search for this: USB\Vid_0fce&Pid_adde\
After it's finished finding, on the right side you'll see DeviceInstance, then it says REG_SZ, then it says something like USB\Vid_0fce&Pid_adde\5&270d2a78&0&3
You'll need that last bit (in this example: 5&270d2a78&0&3 Yours would probably be different). This is your DeviceID (you'll need it soon!)
Note: You may have multiple of these if you plugged the USB cord into many USB ports on your computer. Each USB port will give a different DeviceID, so if you have more than one DeviceID, you'll have to choose one, and if it doesn't work (you'll find out when you reach #5!) you will have to choose another one.
Alternatively, download the file in the next step and extract it, go to the folder called 1st, and run the DeviceID.jar file. It should give your DeviceID
4) Download this:
http://filevo.com/1nlq8wryo11u.html
or from here: http://rapidshare.com/files/404363083/i_R1FA16_ft.rar.html
Extract it.
In the step1 folder, you'll see a file called DeviceID.txt
Open it up, delete whatever's there, and put YOUR DeviceID (that you found from the previous step).
Save the file and close notepad.
Note: Make sure there are no extra spaces or lines after/before the DeviceID. The ONLY thing that should be in the file is your DeviceID, NO SPACES/LINES (for example, only this: 5&270d2a78&0&3 [yours will probably be different])
5) Take out the USB cable from your phone (leave it plugged into your computer)
Turn your phone OFF
Open up step1.cmd (it's not inside the step1 folder, but outside it), but DON'T PRESS ANYTHING
Now we have to put the phone into flash mode. This is how you do it:
Hold the Back button on your phone, and while holding the back button, insert the USB cable into the phone.
A green light should come on the phone (like when it's charging or a missed call)
Quickly "Press any key to continue..." in the open step1.cmd window.
Let it finish what it's doing. It will say "Press any key to continue..." after it's finished. Until then, DON'T touch anything!
If you get problems in this step, refer to this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6970868&postcount=3
Here's a helpful video for common java issue: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=713457
After completion, this will give you a Generic X10i R1FA016 firmware (check it by pressing the left button, go to settings>about phone and at the very bottom under build number)
Keep your phone plugged into the USB.
6) Download this:
http://filevo.com/yzmh8wlyrgtz.html
or from here: http://rapidshare.com/files/404359845/ROOT_F2v2.rar.html
Extract it.
DELETE step4 folder, step5 folder, step4.cmd and step5.cmd
Now we're going to put the phone into Debugging mode:
Turn your phone on if it's not already on.
Press the left button, go to Settings>Applications>Development and check on USB debugging, press OK in the popup. Plug the USB into the phone (in case you disconnected it). You should see an exclamation mark at the very top left of the screen of the phone.
Do NOT have the SD card mounted to your computer!
Note: This next step can take a while!
Open step2.cmd, don't press anything!
On the phone, a list of buttons will come up eventually. Press the 6th option (something about update from SDcard). ONLY PRESS IT ONCE!
Leave your phone alone. Go to the washroom or eat a snack.
You'll see the progress on the phone screen, as it installs the package. Leave everything alone.
After completion, this will give you a Generic X10i R2BA023 firmware.
If you get problems, try this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7003121&postcount=1122
7) The phone should be on, USB plugged in, and already in USB debugging mode.
Open step3.cmd, and 'Press any key to continue'
Let it finish what it's doing, it will say 'Press any key to continue' at the end after it's finished.
After completion, this will give you ROOT! And it also installs some programs for you.
_____________________________________________________________________
Additional steps for X10a:
Download this:
http://filevo.com/okknxk23pbnr.html
or from here: http://hotfile.com/dl/52357616/84b4027/ROOT_F2v2_X10a.rar.html
Extract it.
Inside the step4 folder, there is a DeviceID.txt file. Remember you've seen this before? Copy the same one from step1 folder that you did in #4, and put it into the step4 folder.
Follow #5 (except with step4.cmd)
Next, turn the phone on (if it doesn't turn on, unplug the USB from the phone, and try turning it on again, then plug the USB back in). Put it in USB debugging mode if it's not (if you forgot how to, look back in #6)
Open step5.cmd
After it's done, press the left button on the the phone, go to Settings>About phone and under Model number it should say X10a
_____________________________________________________________________
Market Fix:
If you have an X10i, follow this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=719486
Otherwise if you have an X10a, use this file instead, but follow the same instructions as in the link above: http://rapidshare.com/files/405188255/Market-Fix-X10a.rar
_____________________________________________________________________
To delete preinstalled programs you don't want, such as Moxier:
Put phone in debugging mode if it's not already.
I recommend you unplug USB from phone so you don't end up running some file and messing your phone
Open up the step3 folder. Right-click on cleanup.cmd, and click on edit.
Whatever is there in that list of "@adb shell rm /blah/blah/blah" will get wiped off your phone. So change the list as you want. If you're unsure, REMOVE IT FROM THE LIST!
After you're done making your list of apps to remove, save the file, plug USB into phone, and run the file.
Here is a thread that says what some of the applications are, and additional ones you can add to the list, to remove from the phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=714021
Alternatively, you can install Titanium Backup from the market (it's free!) and use that to uninstall some applications. Also, it's really great for making a backup of your stuff (you can backup more things now since you have access to more things since you now have root!)

If you'd have stopped at step 5 and run seus you would flash straight to 026, instead of having to flash to 023 and then 026.
I've tried this method
http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=195467
when I get to step 12 SE's PC Companion just re-downloads the Vodafone files again :'(
still stuck on uk 024 :'(
Same thing happens on the SEUS swap method, it doesn't attempt to download the files as they are already there so I don't get the opportunity to swap :'(
@debs ,that method doesnt work anymore mate, use the one from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...717949&page=22 .
That one works,i just tried it myself.
Regards ^^
PS: Just be careful on the steps, read em carefully before doing anything, you can brick your phone doing that.
Thank you sooooo much XperiaX10iUser and xtrmshadow. Chuffed to bits now I have finally got 026 on. I did it the way you both suggested but only up to part 5, then let SEUS update me to 026.
I'm one happy bunny now

I also read something about replacing just one file? I can't find the post anymore and don't remember the filename. I unbranded my phone months ago. But my wife has the same phone from Vodafone, but branded. If someone can tell me the name of the file and whether I can copy mine file to her phone to unbrand it?

No you can't exactly copy it.
Go to the debrand thread posted on first page and read through carefully then you'll see that the files are copied to a certain folder on your pc. Since you've done it before I'm sure it will come back to you if you simply reread the obstructions.
Edit:Btw the links posted by XperiaX10User and xtrmshadow are actually same post with I copy and pasted on first page. Just so you don't get confused.

Here is how to root 2011 Xperia running any of the 4.1.B.0.587 4.1.B.0.431 / 4.1.A.0.562 and 4.0.2.A.0.62 firmware . No need to downgrade kernels or anything, just root it straight away
Rooting
Go to settings > Security > Mark "Unknown sources"
Settings > Developer options > Mark USB debugging
Settings > Xperia > connectivity > USB connection mode > select MSC mode
PC Companion installed on your PC.
1) Connect your phone to PC ( IMPORTANT > Skip PC Companion installation pop up on your phone.) and wait for the adb drivers to be installed. If these drivers don't get installed, phone would not be detected by Eroot.
Make sure nothing else ( specially flashtool ) is running on your PC in the background.
2) Download this rooting toolkit. Google Drive /// MediaFire /// 4-Shared and run it. If any downloading starts, cancel it by clicking the green button. Don't let the eroot download anything.
It should now detect your phone and show an option to "-root". Just click on it, wait till it finishes
3)Rooting done ( For confirmation see if any Super User app has been installed )
4) If by chance it fails for the first time, give it another go. it won't harm your phone in any way. If you still face problem, click on show content below
Go to your C:/ Drive / User/Username/AppData/Roaming/ folder and delete the eRoot folder.
If it says cannot be deleted then open up task manager on your PC and kill bec.exe . Then delete eroot folder.
Still not working ? used the archived method to root 2011 Xperia here below the animated Xperia picture.

Yes it's for both locked/ unlocked bootloader
Confirm working on neo L
Confirm working on neo L
For neo L with Tigris Kernel,Vengeance ... ( Unlock BL )
Just connect to PC , and do the steps in OP
For neo L Lock BL
1. Enable USB Debugging from (Menu\Settings\Developer Options\Development)
2. Enable Unknown Sources from (Menu\Settings\Security)
3. Enable MSC Mode from (Menu\Setting\Xperia\Connectivity\USB Connection Mode)
4.Then simply flash MT11i_4.1.A.0.562_kernel via Flashtool
5.Then Root using the tool above , after done manually remove and reinsert battery
6.Then flash back MT25i_4.1.B.0.626_KERNEL ONLY_bywewenk or MT25i_4.1.B.0.631_KERNEL ONLY_bywewenk
*If you are on .626 & .587 use .626 kernel , If you are on .631 then use .631 kernel
Awesome
Confirmed working fine on Arc S (LT18i) running 4.1.B.0.587.
Awesome!!!!
Just today I decided to finally root it. I had been looking for some ways to do it here but hadn't decided how to do it yet. I wasn't too enthousiastic about having to downgrade, root, and upgrade again. (Most of all, I didn't want to have to reconfigure my entire phone...)
The primary reason for wanting to root was moving more apps to SD - I'm tired of not being able to install apps and having to decide every week which app I need to uninstall since I'm running out of space.
So - I used this. The menu is in Japanese (I think - correct me if I'm wrong ), but I managed to get it to work after 2 attempts.
If whoever made it could translate the GUI to English and add an option to choose a language. it would be great. But even without that, it did the job for me!
Whoever made this - THANK YOU!
Nabeel Bro, i tested ur signature, it's working fine for me !!

So i guess it's a success for that " For neo L with Tigris Kernel,Vengeance " ?? Because on locked bootloader even doomlord kit works by swapping kernel.

I tried all the links, first Bitdefender says that has a virus, second if i disable antivirus, program runs, downloads somthing about 10 mb, and closes.
My phone is an lt15i arc, as you can see on my signature.

Yeah,
But what i need to know is, that eroot kit detects your mobile at all ?
It closes on it's own ?
It's probably the antivirus acting up buddy. I just tested again on W8 pc and it works really fine.
First connect your phone to PC with USB debugging on, then wait until the adb driver is installed. Only After that run the rooting toolkit . Cancel that downloading ( 10MB ) as soon as you see it, now see if it shows an option to Root.
If that doesn't help then follow this reply. ( Your antivirus might have removed some file of eroot, that's causing it to close on it's own, so follow this reply and install eroot again , but before that make sure you disable antivirus) >

[GUIDE][SOLUTION]-{Arc to S}- Why some ROMs and mods not working ?!

Greetings everyone,
Well, i have seen many many such problems "ROM didnt work" "mod not working even though did all steps" etc..and personally XUHD 3.0.2 at the time was not working at all on my device and i was so sad and frustrated, but then i realized the problem, flashed arc S FW and everything worked ever since...
P.S Not to sound ungrateful, but is there a way to fully remove the walkman? I mean including libs and everything. I don't use my phone for music much and move a lot of apps to the system partition and the walkman takes up quite a lot of space. Every mb counts for the Arc.

The thing is those people are manly using an Xperia Arc (LT15i) with the Arc firmware, and that the problem... with modern ROMs and mods, you need a bigger internal memory and bigger system partition space, which the Arc S (LT18i) has... Flashing stock LT18i FW on your Arc is very easy, simple, and recommended and i will guide you through (by now every single Arc FW user should follow to change to Arc S FW for a more comfortable and suitable Xperience...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
INSTRUCTIONS:
*First of all download and install Flashtool ( a VERY handy tool to Unbrick, flash kernels, flash FW and many more options !) it is found in Arc Development section as a sticky so you can easily find it. install in C:/Flashtool (special thanks for Bin4ry and Androxyde for the Xtremely helpful tool) then go to C:/Flashtool/drivers and install the drivers you need for your device (dont forget flashmode/fastboot drivers)
*Assuming you installed/have it now you need to download the Arc S stock ics FW ( uploaded by zohaib0001) here: http://d-h.st/cyw
*After its downloaded it will be a .ftf file so you only need to copy it from downloads folder to C:/Flashtool/Firmwares in folder firmwares you can put the files needed to flash (e.g kernel,firmware...).
*Backup all those things you need because when you flash this firmware all your data is lost but NOT pics,vids,music.... you can use ANY backup tool to backup your apps, app data and more, like Titanium backup which is good...and for calender stuff and contacts simply sync them with Google so they would be VERY safe wherever you go....
*turn off your phone and wait for 3 seconds
*open flashtool and press on bolt icon and pick flashmode, you will see the FW on the left..double click it and wait for it to be prepared...
*after it's prepared it will open a window to tell you what to do ( now what you will do is hold BACK key while plugging in the USB cable.
* now your Arc will light up green and on flashtool it will start flashing the FW... (in case it gives an error with "flashing aborted" redo from 2 steps behind (own experience), if redoing those steps didnt work it means drivers arent properly configured so you need to make sure you installed drivers are installed from drivers folder in flashtool folder...
*After its 100% done, close the flashtool and unplug your Arc and turn it on... you will notice that there is no root ( BOOTLOADER NOOOT AFFECTED) so if you have unlocked bootloader simply do what you do to flash a new ROM... flash a kernel via fastboot (flashtool kicks in handy so you can flash kernels easily) like LuPus for example and reboot or flash ROM if you have it on SD...and sync with google to get back your stuff and install apps to resore your other stuff.
* Do these and you shall not face any problem with any ROM and mod (unless one of them is faulty ) and enjoy a better Xperience with a higher internal memory and higher system partition !
It's not a tft file.Please!
ITS A ftf FILE.
