LTE Version with bigger battery on the way, called Moto G 4G (2015)
Motorola is soon launching a new revision of the second gen Moto G with LTE support, a bigger 2390 mAh battery and 16GB of internal storage.

It's usually that way. Every time I buy something, a newer and better version comes out. Why pack everything into a new phone when you can make a fairly decent phone that sells well, while leaving out some really great things that will make the old phone look outdated.

Yeah but honestly I expected an update because right now the Moto E 2015 has better hardware then the Moto G 2014, newer faster soc, LTE, bigger battery... and that really makes no sense.

I have this version, is the xt1078. I dont found much about this version or someone who have too.

Motorola is forcing me to move to this version. It's unacceptable for those who bought the Moto G 2014 version to release a better phone of the same model 6 months later on the market.

So it's been released in Brazil only, how great Motorola...

blah I love my Moto G 2014, but figures. A bigger battery is welcome, but why not a 3000mAH? The Chassis would fit it. I personally don't care about 4G though, my area has bad coverage at best. 3G is good enough for me anyway.

Do you know how root this version?

So far, I do not see any talk of this version being released in the US; only Brazil and Europe. Additionally, if you are feeling jealous of the increased batter, remember that LTE does typically consume a bit more battery. It may be a "wash" between the two.

In China, I bought one, which is XT1079

The 2nd Gen 4G is now showing on motorola.co.uk for pre-order £159, estimated delivery 23rd March.
I think i'll be picking one up to replace my aging Gnex.

Nice addition.
Model number for this new Moto G is XT 1072 according to google search for Model: SM4031AE7B1
And in tech info, it seems to be a Dual-SIM LTE model. Most likely the 2nd SIM can be used either 3G only or 4G only.

The german version seems to be a single-sim LTE variant
Sent from my XT1063 using XDA Free mobile app

I've bought this phone three days ago in Brazil (Model XT1078). Didn't try any method for rooting it, but if someone knows how to safely do this, please share.
It's a dual SIM, 16GB storage.

German site has only the LTE version available and it seems to be single-sim as you mentioned. But it is also a different model SM4023AE7F1. Unfortunately no google answer for moto model nr.

Fairly standard release cycle, so I wouldn't call it "unacceptable". There will probably be a Moto G 2015 later this year also. Since they did this exact same thing with the first Moto G, it should have been expected anyway.
Not a huge upgrade IMO anyway. 3G is plenty fast for every day tasks and the bigger better is probably offset by the fact that LTE drains your battery faster. More internal storage is good, but with the SD slot it doesn't seem that significant.

Why I am getting rid of my Moto G for the RAZR I.

I have the RAZR i about a year ago, was really happy with it, but the app compatibility annoyed me too much, now fast forward to now, I own a Moto G, this is my first Motorola device since I gave up the RAZR i a year ago, and wow I have missed Motorola, every phone I have had from them has been so reliable.
BUT there are downsides and reasons why I am now going to switch BACK to the RAZR i from the MOTO G.
8 megapixel vs 5 megapixel: RAZR i wins here, not that I use my phone for photography, but the Moto G camera awful, everything looks painted!
Design: Well not saying the MOTO G design is bad, but let's face it, the RAZR i takes the crown without a doubt in design.
IPS vs AMOLED: even though the Moto G does have a higher pixel density, doesn't say that the RAZR i screen is awful, and I have always preferred AMOLED over IPS, but thats personal preference.
Micro SD: The Moto G doesn't have one!!
web browsing speed: I did a side by side comparison with my friends RAZR i, the RAZR i is a second quicker, despite been less powerful, speaks for itself.
These reasons mean a lot to me and that's why I am switching back. And maybe it will make you think twice about switching too.
I just hope apps have become more compatible since I last had it :/
Well, the moto G is fine, but not something to see as an upgrade for us razr i users, I'm waiting for the new asus line, I'm very happy with my intel processor, although what I wished for it didn't come true, and remember kids, always update to more, no to less-
edit: the moto g display is tn,not ips.

yeah, I agree, Moto G is equally fine as the razr i. I bought the Moto G for my mom so I had some time comparing the two phones and in the end both have their strengths and flaws. I would say, if you have neither of the two phones and want to switch to a medium spec phone then go for the G, but if you are using the i at the moment and think about going for the G, I would say it is not worth it.

Read on gsmarena it used a IPS. oh well. And i now own the RAZR i, it's brlliant, the design and camera are far superior. But it is a little more laggy.
Moto-G is great but as far as I can see there's no way for it to recognise a car dock. My Defy had a magnetic switch and the Razr i has NFC which works fine for that purpose and maybe for other stuff too (one day...).
I'm using more than 16Gb of my SD card, so space would be an issue.
Definitely not a Razr I replacement for me.
Moving back to ARM would be a positive I think - a couple of apps have recently stopped working after an update (NavFree included) and I think multi-core would help with lag. That said, I've just reduced the lag a lot by uninstalling the updates to the increasing number of Google apps I don't use and disabling them in the app manager so I'm not hassled to update them. I recommend doing that.
I can understand you, because I've already thought about switching to the moto g, too. But I really love my RAZR i and I won't switch so fast!

not meaning to Necro too much but this thread is interesting
being less powerful ... well when you oppose a quadcore versus a singlecore with HT ... yet the Razr i can be on the level of a Quadcore SOC thanks to the 2ghz of the Z2480

i have to say you got to give credit on a single core virtual dual core who do almost as fine as a Exynos 4412/Snapdragon 400... the Razr i still have the Oomph to kick 2013/2014 middle range phone with a quality build and overall good performance
(comming from a ex SGS III custom ROM 21-23K pts user ) so yes ... a Moto G is definitely not a "upgrade"
compatibility indeed the main letdown but yet none of the app i use are non working, bonus: PPSSPP/FPse are smoother than on my SGS III
and also the first phone i keep on stock ... Moto did a awesome job to not "bloat" too much the OS nearly a Nexus experience (feel the google print ... let's hope Lenovo will not let down the 4.4 for the XT890 )
i got my Ri for less than 120$ in a near new state, it still does more than 2 day on moderate use and a bit more than 1 day on heavy use (my kind of heavy use of course) the screen bear just one little scratch
and the rest of the phone is pristine. awesome material and build, good user experience, still actual in term of performances, the camera button is practical and near instant camera app launch from screen off is just awesome.
now who really need, 13mp, QHD UHD, 2gb RAM and more, and over 5" ... not me, that's for sure (and i had several size and model of smartphones/phablet)
ok the 8gb storage is a bit...meh... since no app2sd but i have all my app installed and still 2.5gb free and i use a 32gb UHSI µSD
i need to figure out a way to move the folder for Manga Rock, from main storage to the SD, having 2.5gb for the download is a bit small

On 15th May the India's first fan based blog LGMobileIndia.in leaked the specs which was stating SD801, ealry this week from the Korean presentation we have found the similar specs. So there is no point to still expecting SD805. May be G Pro 3 will have it or G Flex 2.
Still with 5.5" QHD IPS LCD, 3GB RAM with Snapdragon 801 looks a giant killer.:good:

According to that site there's still some hope
I am on the borderline, I love my G2 and i was so hoping G3 will be with SD805. Just the QHD screen is not enough for now.
Although i do not like Samsung much, but at 38.8k it is a bargain, specially with the 5k worth of coupon from Samsung. I will skip G3 and hold on to G2 i think and upgrade to G4 next year.

LG has released LG G2 D802T in India (after regular G2) which officially supports 4G LTE officially. Airtel has officially listed it in its 4G supported handset list.
I think they will release a single version G3 with LTE support this time.
Only thing I don't like is LG flagships headphone audio is quietest.

ya, they have to do that, internal storage has no connection whatsoever with the total ram, its just a marketing gimmick from lg.

Yes ... I don't care about internal as long as RAM remains same. But they decided to change RAM amount also. And I think 32GB version will face delay as the higher capacity devices gets launched pretty late. This was a bad move by LG.

Like all Motorola phones it is very heavy. It weighs about 180g whereas it's elder brother stands at 130g. And it is not a 64-bit device as rumored but can be called a good deal (given it is a NEXUS device) if it is kept under 40k price tag IMHO. Let's hope there is at least a new kernel like 3.14 for it.
if it is 64bit and above 40k i can think about it , if no then i will wait for snapdragon 810
Hell yeah
High end specs big battery
Big display (probably because they want to raise moto x sales) and memory 3 gb (more than enough for anything)
Lets hope it launch in india soon before
January at a decent price near 35 would be nice

I'll be happily surprised if that's the price tag. It costs $649 in US, that equals ~40k INR.
For perspective, price of Nexus 5 in the US is $349 (21.5k INR) while price in India is 29k (starting). Note 4 is $749 off contract in US while 58.3k in India. I'd expect something over 45k. I will grab it ASAP if it's 43k, even though I don't plan to (yet).
45k I bet on...?looks like a killer device. But design it's all moto that we have seen before. This time planning to wait for a while before I jump into this ship...

Definitely going to get this! Hope it doesn't launch as expensive as the previous two Nexus 7's have though. It's under $500 so hopefully it stays within 30k here too.
Btw, the RAM is 2GB, not 4.
Post KitKat release, android can run on 512 mb ram. So, with 2 gb I am not worried. It also helps in keeping price of tablet down. As long as it is under 30K, I do not mind.

hi
i want to buy n9 as soon as possible.. in India will it launch now or later???
is it better than samsung tab pro 8.4 in terms of reading?? anyone can help ??
Looks like 16 GB Wifi Only version will be pretty fairly priced at 28.9k INR. https://play.google.com/store/devices/details?id=nexus_9_black_16gb_wifi
By my estimate, the 32gb WiFi version should be between 33-35k. Which would be nice, gonna get the sandy gold one.
32gig WiFi is not available .... We only have option. Of 16gig WiFi for 28k or 32gig LTE for 44k
I wanted to buy one, but the pricing is making me think twice. It's way up compared to the previous iterations of the nexus line up.

I want to buy one but not the black one. I want the white one. I hope when they do release the tablet, they release both black and white.

Um... Google does http://www.androidcentral.com/india-included-first-wave-countries-receive-nexus-6
Does anybody have any information as to when (if) the N9 32GB LTE is coming to India, and will it really be 44k as I see http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-9/general/nexus-9-india-availability-models-t2909555.

Any news on whether it'll be sold outside of the play store?

I was hoping for a lower price on other retailers.

LTE Model is too costly
Anyone buying the LTE version? I was really really looking forward to replace my Nexus 7 (2012) GSM (which i bought @ Rs. 14,999) with the Nexus 9 LTE, but looking the price listed on play store
BTW, How does $599 = Rs. 44900. This is not even that much of premium tablet. Compared to iPads, there is no complete metal body construction or touch id sensor or 64gb version (not that i would buy an iPad, ever).
I get that it has good specs but there are laptops with twice as much ram, 15 times the storage and touchscreen that come cheaper. In fact a roommate of mine managed to buy a MacBook Air 13" at Rs 49,619 during the amazon sale. I think it is priced ridiculously high given the specs.

The LTE models are indeed 44K+ see this. $599 + "taxes" = INR 44900. I initially wanted the LTE version, but I am not paying 14K for that (Heck, I can throw in an LTE Mi4/OPO in there). However, this dude is listing even the 16GB Wi-Fi version at 38K. I mean WTF. I'll wait for Flipkart/Amazon.
Nexus 9 Price?
Can some one guess what would be the price of Nexus 9?

[SPECS] Samsung Galaxy S6 Specifications

Hey all
We have several threads dedicated to the specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S6. so I thought it best roll them all into one as we now have more detailed listings. These are still TBC, so they will be updated as we get more information in.
Interesting Samsung went with its "in-house" Exynos chipset and not a snapdragon 810, thoughts?

I think the battery will be ~3000mAh and while i don't want a 1440 screen its going to happen. Also i think it will be Bluetooth 4.1 and i think that the heart rate monitor will be gone in the S6.
I think it doesn't have dust and water resistant facilities.
Here's hoping for a sdcard slot, else it'll be a big change, no removable battery and no sdcard slot.

At long last a 32GB default memory for the base model, taken them long enough. Really hope the rumours that they've seriously cut back touch whizz are true.
Info
I always like to see Innovation of Samsung in Chipset & CPU
so I love to see Exynos variant of Galaxy S6 more than SD.810
:good:

i second that on the sd slot. And i really hope att doesnt have samsung lock it using knox again, theres little to no development on my s5 thanks to knox. and its just not fair to pay 700 dollars to have limited phone.
March 1st will be here soon enough and hopefully HTC can convince me enough to get off the sammy band wagon lol

Personally I don't care about Knox, the first thing I did when I got my Tab S was flash a custom recovery and root it. That's the joy of an unlocked bootloader.

Thats what im saying if knox is going to be activated on at&t i think im gonna have to pass on this device even though the specs are amazing. i love all the work the devs do, and being able to push the phone to the limit and without being able to root i cant see myself buying this.
p.s. unless att can garrentee us resonable update times.
I heard that we are going to be able to delete the bloatware, which is a plus, but I still want my SD card.

That looks way different from all those leaks so far (not iPhone 6 like rounded), and it's looking nice.
why not 5.5
I just don't understand, why 5' display needs 2k? To drain more battery and make it more laggy? 1080p would be the best choice...
Samsung Norway posted this now.
https://www.samsung.com/no/isthisthenext/
It's to feature a 16MP not 20MP camera unit on the production model. In fact it will have a tweaked version of the camera unit used in the Note 4.

Hmmm. If HTC M9 gets bad reviews I think I will get this phone instead. The bad thing is the rumors about the battery and SD slot. Also this phone will not have as great ROM support as a snapdragon phone :/
