I thought it would be great if we Indian user can discuss about device and who is interested in LG G3, So here you go. A dedicated thread just for that. No spamming please. Respect others.

What's the point of this thread? XDA is a global community. If each country had its own thread these forums will be very hard to navigate.

The point is we can discuss about the availability and local prices which we can not do in other threads. Having country specific discussion in global thread will just create confusion. Hope you understand.

On 15th May the India's first fan based blog LGMobileIndia.in leaked the specs which was stating SD801, ealry this week from the Korean presentation we have found the similar specs. So there is no point to still expecting SD805. May be G Pro 3 will have it or G Flex 2.
Still with 5.5" QHD IPS LCD, 3GB RAM with Snapdragon 801 looks a giant killer.:good:

you are right but it's just I am expecting some kind of surprize even if chances are very slim. Let's see ... Only 4 days to go
Guys check this : http://www.mysinchew.com/node/98496?tid=179
According to that site there's still some hope

I am on the borderline, I love my G2 and i was so hoping G3 will be with SD805. Just the QHD screen is not enough for now.
Although i do not like Samsung much, but at 38.8k it is a bargain, specially with the 5k worth of coupon from Samsung. I will skip G3 and hold on to G2 i think and upgrade to G4 next year.

LG has released LG G2 D802T in India (after regular G2) which officially supports 4G LTE officially. Airtel has officially listed it in its 4G supported handset list.
I think they will release a single version G3 with LTE support this time.
Only thing I don't like is LG flagships headphone audio is quietest.

because reliance and airtel are using td lte mode @ 2300mhz as per soruces. Most phones dont support that frequency
edit: just saw the specs of g3 and it dosent have 2300mhz listed.

Also I want them to release 32gigs version instead of 16gigs model. 32gigs version has 3GB RAM.

ya, they have to do that, internal storage has no connection whatsoever with the total ram, its just a marketing gimmick from lg.

Yes ... I don't care about internal as long as RAM remains same. But they decided to change RAM amount also. And I think 32GB version will face delay as the higher capacity devices gets launched pretty late. This was a bad move by LG.

The picture above makes it quite obvious with the “Galaxy S II” logo printed on the back. While this is expected to be a rather minor upgrade, with no major changes, a few improvements are expected, such as a seemingly larger 4.5-inch display, as opposed to the current Galaxy S II’s 4.3-inch one, and support for T-Mobile’s faster HSPA+ 42Mbps connection.
Much like the original Galaxy S II, this slightly revised model is expected to include the hardware and features that made the previous one successful, namely its dual-core 1.2 GHz SoC processor, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, an 8-megapixel camera and the ability to output fully uncompressed 1080p high-definition video through its built-in HDMI port. There are no apparent changes software-wise: much like the original release, the revised Galaxy S II is expected to include the latest version of Android, 2.3 Gingerbread, along with Samsung’s custom TouchWiz interface, which is aimed at streamlining Android’s standard user experience. The phone’s back now sports a brushed metal look as well, contrasting with previous Galaxy S II models.
Although the handset is not yet available through a carrier in the US, its release is projected to take place sometime this month. In addition to T-Mobile, this variant of the Galaxy S II is expected to also be available North of the border through the Canadian carrier Telus.

I dont see any upgrades i see tmobile cutting cost and going with crap CPU/GPU and having bigger screen ...I want a galaxy s 2 not some hybrid that will cause more delays on updates and problems when looking for compatible games

Lol, besides AT&T is buying T-Mobile and I'm pretty sure that AT&T's network won't support T-Mobile's 3G/4G.

why do you think new tmobile phones support both tmobile and ATT frequencies

Lol, then my bad. I thought you meant Hercules not International. But the merger might be finished when the Galaxy S III comes out lol.
It looks nice
So what? I don't care, we're talking about SGS2
Looks like a bigger, slimmer nexus s. In my opinion not bad looking, we have to just see if the specs remain the same as original sgs2 or not. Also not sure how comfortable it will be holding a 4.5 inch screen for one hand typing.

Interesting.... Im using the international sgs2 on tmobile usa right now and the edge speeds are a bit of a buzzkill. Im waiting for the hercules to drop because the tmobile 4g speeds when i had the g2x were insane 9mb down at night 7mb down average. On the other hand if this doesnt have the exynos chip i think ill pass and hold out for the nexus prime.

I've heard also that it has been rumored the possibility for it to include 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S3 instead of the 1.2 GHz Exynos.
4.5" it's the same as the Infuse 4G... kinda biggie... it's incredible how much difference there's in between (actual) 4.3" and a 4.5", seems really a lot more than just .2"!

the LTE part is great even though we probably wont have a fully rolled out LTE network till 2014 but the Quad core would definitely help with the over all smoothness of the OS and insure an upgrade to the Jelly Bean or what ever the next OS will be.
I want the note, but if not, Im 50/50 between the E1 and the SG3. Probably will have to see them both in person to make a decision. Baby mama is switching to sprint and wants my ET4G, time for an upgrade for Phatmanxxl!
Doesn't the battery seem a bit too small? I'm sure they have a larger one. Either way, can't wait until we find out all the exact details, exciting lol.

Samsung Galaxy SIII = Tech boner!
Which means by the time we get it on sprint gs4 will roll around.
I guess the reason we get phones after the other carriers is $$$ related.
Sprint probably pays less per unit after the phone has been out for a bit.

What are you talking about Sprint was the first to come out with a GSII and then T-mobile and AT&T come out with there's a week or 2 later at the time only the International edition was available
All the hyped units like the nexus or the note come later. Sprints cash is going toward network vision first. Phone models second. Verixon & ATT have cash to throw around sprint doesn't.
I'll venture as far to say the new nexus will be announced shortly after we get sgs3.

Yea but Sprint still hasn't rolled out LTE the main reason we don't have the Nexus and the Note was first released internationally then AT&T picked it up from Samsung and were still not sure if Sprint is getting the Note and if so im sure it will get LTE maybe that's why they are taking their time
the nexus devices coincide with the release of a new version of android. we won't see another nexus for at least another 6-12 months. i mean phones are JUST getting ICS.
Still gonna take them 6 months after the gsm version to get this on sprint.
Maybe Christmas 2012?
so leave sprint! i'm considering getting the intl sgs3, hopping on at&t and calling it a day. i'd really like some decent 3G. i don't make many calls so i'm not that worried about calls dropping or worse quality.

Anyone pre-booking it? You think that dock is worth the extra price we pay on the Samsung site?

No.. definitely not. They did the same thing with Note. Not only did pre-ordered units were sent late...they were also 2000 less than the actual market value...If you are really eager.. better check with local vendors in the last week of Sept

GT-i9505 vs GT-i9305

Worth upgrading??
I think this SGS4 just an evolution and not a revolution. I know that the level of the camera we have great evolution ... and there are more 2s sensors ... but it worth the astronomical value of 799 €? ... otherwise we are talking about two phones with powerful Quad-cores with 2GB ram, communications with LTE and a design virtually identical ...
And then Portugal (as other European countries) will not have the Exynos version...very sad ...

I'm in portugal, too
I agree, mostly
I'm coming from an i9300, though
can't wait to buy the phone, but I'm getting it carrier locked to TMN which will be selling for 649€
I don't think it's worth upgrading tbh, the 9305 is good enough for now
maybe when the Note III comes out, yes

The S4 is definitely not a revolution. So I'm not sure an upgrade from the S4 is really worth it, unless you can easily afford the new one. There are many aspects improved on the S4, but no most-have in my opinion.

S3 uses a very dated GPU. Samsung had been using the Mali-400 since the S2 and it's horrible. I'm glad they stopped using it now. Power VR or Adreno 320 are much better. So yes. It's a very good upgrade.

The 5 reasons why I upgrade to the GT-I9505 are:
1. From 720p to 1080p!
2. From 4,7" to 5,0" inch!
3. From 8MP to 13MP!
4. Way better GPU!
5. Longer support from Samsung!

Ok, maybe i will by the S4 but only the GT-i9500 version with Exynos octa processor...now, in Portugal, Samsung will just debut the GT-i9505...I will be waiting for the exynos version
Why ask others? This is pretty simple...
1. It will have a much better screen quality.
2. It will be faster.
3. It will have a better camera.
4. It will have better battery life.
5. It will get updates faster. (plus all the new features it comes with)
Now, are you willing to spend the extra money to get those? That is the question.
Edit: Exynos, if community roms are important to you you probably want to stick to Qualcomm since it will have way better support.

2. It will be faster. <- yes, this one is true
3. It will have a better camera. <- So..... 4 =/ 4 ? Dude, it's the same sensor
4. It will have better battery life. <- It's supposed to be 25% more efficient, true
5. It will get updates faster. (plus all the new features it comes with) <- Really ?

I'm not sure if you're serious, kidding or just missed that this thread is about S3 vs S4. Not Exynos vs Snapdragon S4

Snapdragon.
1- Because it's open sourced and well documented.
2- Because most devs are from the US, which is only getting i9505 (for now).

LTE Version with bigger battery on the way, called Moto G 4G (2015)
Motorola is soon launching a new revision of the second gen Moto G with LTE support, a bigger 2390 mAh battery and 16GB of internal storage.

It's usually that way. Every time I buy something, a newer and better version comes out. Why pack everything into a new phone when you can make a fairly decent phone that sells well, while leaving out some really great things that will make the old phone look outdated.

Yeah but honestly I expected an update because right now the Moto E 2015 has better hardware then the Moto G 2014, newer faster soc, LTE, bigger battery... and that really makes no sense.
I have this version, is the xt1078. I dont found much about this version or someone who have too.
Motorola is forcing me to move to this version. It's unacceptable for those who bought the Moto G 2014 version to release a better phone of the same model 6 months later on the market.

So it's been released in Brazil only, how great Motorola...
blah I love my Moto G 2014, but figures. A bigger battery is welcome, but why not a 3000mAH? The Chassis would fit it. I personally don't care about 4G though, my area has bad coverage at best. 3G is good enough for me anyway.

Do you know how root this version?
So far, I do not see any talk of this version being released in the US; only Brazil and Europe. Additionally, if you are feeling jealous of the increased batter, remember that LTE does typically consume a bit more battery. It may be a "wash" between the two.

In China, I bought one, which is XT1079
The 2nd Gen 4G is now showing on motorola.co.uk for pre-order £159, estimated delivery 23rd March.
I think i'll be picking one up to replace my aging Gnex.
Nice addition.
Model number for this new Moto G is XT 1072 according to google search for Model: SM4031AE7B1
And in tech info, it seems to be a Dual-SIM LTE model. Most likely the 2nd SIM can be used either 3G only or 4G only.

The german version seems to be a single-sim LTE variant

I've bought this phone three days ago in Brazil (Model XT1078). Didn't try any method for rooting it, but if someone knows how to safely do this, please share.
It's a dual SIM, 16GB storage.

German site has only the LTE version available and it seems to be single-sim as you mentioned. But it is also a different model SM4023AE7F1. Unfortunately no google answer for moto model nr.

Fairly standard release cycle, so I wouldn't call it "unacceptable". There will probably be a Moto G 2015 later this year also. Since they did this exact same thing with the first Moto G, it should have been expected anyway.
Not a huge upgrade IMO anyway. 3G is plenty fast for every day tasks and the bigger better is probably offset by the fact that LTE drains your battery faster. More internal storage is good, but with the SD slot it doesn't seem that significant.
