Exactly. I mean it probably is cool feature to try once or twice. What I don't get about 5.0 is if it's supposed to be "compatible" with most devices then why can't anyone seem to get it right? These soak tests their doing on N3 and S4 supposedly have tons of bugs. Heck they can't even seem to get it right on Nexus devices.

Well it's Oculus Rift. Despite $2 billion from Facebook, these guys live in the Kingdom of Slow. They are waiting so long for their headset to be "perfect" it will be obsolete by the time it finally hits the street (I'm actually more interested in the Hololens and super models dancing in my living room).

Lol oops. Typo on Google.

I knew we wouldn't get the update by this time. Even after Oculus is finished tweaking the Note 4 rom/kernel, we have to wait for Sprint to bloat it all up and then we get it. My guess is sometime around April-May.

You are pretty optimistic April or may lol Nov Dec

Uhhh if anything is delayed because lollipop is a buggy piece of crap. Even google can't flush out all the bugs to make it not lag and do crappy things so why would that be samsungs fault for google putting out crap to begin with. And why are you here if ur gonna complain about bloatware? That's why we are here so we don't have to deal with it. They can put as much bloat as they want on it cus im just gonna uninstall it all anyway. Don't care one bit if lollipop never comes. It's buggy and ugly. More than happy on kit Kat

Well hopefully they do work out the kinks eventually. And rom developers for cm12 and many other roms benifit from having the hardware code from stock roms to make their roms work much better for many different aspects of the device btw. Anyone who develop roms knows that.

Xposed will probably work by the time we get lollipop. Not even on the radar as shown here. http://bgr.com/2015/02/05/galaxy-s5-lg-g3-htc-one-and-m8-android-5-0-lollipop/

I really could care less about the Gear VR.. I just want the update already. They can release Gear VR support in a patch if they must but give me 5.0.

you really think a french provider would post info about the 4.0.4-update on sprint?!
I do not believe it!
Would wait until the end of March by the OTA, but I see I'll have to install a ROM alternative!

Shame on Google for what?
In the Q&A, someone from SFR clarifies that the update has been delayed and they don't have an ETA yet. That's all it means. We didn't have an ETA before, so in effect nothing has changed.
This French site is making it up as they go along. They are talking out of their rear end.
I'm happy with 4.0.3. so what is the rush?
Why would Google give inside information to some tin-pot French operator when they have bigger fish to fry with their bigger markets?
They are bullshitting.

Yeah, it makes zero sense. Google isn't "suspending" an update that never existed to begin with. They are surely working on 4.0.4 or whatever comes next and will release it as soon as it passes the QA tests.

Lol... that tin-pot provider is pretty big in France, which is a part of the not so small European market. And as far as I remember, us Europeans are the only ones so far who've got an official update. (Plus the American off-shoot, T-Mobile, of course).

It is also the only source of this rumor and has never been verified by any outside source. Therefore, I tend to believe it is nonsense. And it seems the initial report was inaccurate so it is hard to blame Google for information they didn't release that was not true.
Google must be doing something really big in the next update. Otherwise they wouldn't have delayed it for 3 months.
Or maybe Google devs are too much busy with 5.0 that they are hardly concerned with further updates on ICS.
Just wild guesses. Waiting for a surprise from Google.

My thoughts exactly. They must be cooking up something good.

Not that I want Google to rush or anything, but I must say ICS on my Nexus S (Tmobile) runs quite poorly. Things hiccup and lag a bit, and when returning to the home screen (especially from Chrome or games), the home screen icons can take upwards of 5+ seconds to load. It happens frequently, and is quite frustrating.
Don't get me wrong, I love ICS, but owning a Nexus device to get the latest update is slightly overrated if it means my year+ old phone can't run it well due to hardware limitations. Kind of makes the second year of owning this device less enjoyable.
I'm hoping an update will address this.

CM10 update for Galaxy S3- Release soon!

Link
Guillaume Lesniak12:07 - Public
A status update about CM10 on Samsung devices:
- The Samsung Galaxy S III's ROM is somewhat ready. As far as we know, everything works (WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, Video playback, Calls, Audio, 3G Data, Camera, ...). It is currently undergoing some internal tests to make sure everything is fine just by installing the update ZIP, so if something goes wrong make sure to blame +Pedro Carneiro ;-) No ETA available, we will release an experimental build when we feel like it's ready, so if everything is fine it could be hours or days, if something goes wrong it could be hours or days or weeks or months or years or centuries or millenniums.
(Oh and don't even think about asking for FM Radio)
- I just started to work on the Samsung Galaxy Note. Codeworkx and Espenfjo already started on the Galaxy S II, thus some of their work profits a lot for the N7000. I'll keep you informed either here or on twitter on how things goes.
- The Samsung Galaxy S II is in a very early state, we got it booting. But since the Note is very similar, that's a lot of shared work between those two devices.
Technically speaking, the "galaxys2" device tree will turn into "i9100" to fit with the Samsung naming convention we used everywhere else in CyanogenMod device trees, and a new galaxys2-common tree will appear.
We really have no ETAs for all these devices, we really go for a "When it's done" approach, even for the S3 ROM. It could be released tonight, the same way it could be released next week. It depends on our free time and on how things go around. As for the Note/S2, there's still many things to do before giving an estimate, so stay patient.
I hope this post will calm down people bugging Hacksung on Twitter regarding Galaxy devices and Jelly Bean ;-)

Kitkat rom isn't possible without a leaked TW rom to begin with.
Why so eager? Touchwiz hardly resembles stock Android anyways. Flash player won't ever work with Kitkat. All our recent dev work would have to be redone.. right now is there one good reason we should be itching to get the 4.4 update?

I'm not itching for kitkat....In fact I don't know what the major update is(in kitkat). But the time it took for the last note to receive a update was a year. I've never been on one version of android that long.
So that prompts question are developsers working with the kitkat source on the note while keeping our touchwiz?

I may be wrong, I'm no Dev, but the way I understand it. It's not so much Wallet supporting it as it is the OS itself. 4.4 supports the host card emulation ability and Wallet was updated to use that ability. I hope I'm wrong, but that's my understanding for what it's worth.

I hate to be the guy who keeps raining on the parade, but I wouldn't count on our VZW variant getting updated in January. The international version, maybe, but the only way we'll get KitKat by then is if Hashcode or someone cracks the boatloader or Hash gets Kexec working. Just my opinions, of course.

Android 5.0 Lollipop official update from Sprint for the S4 & S4 Triband?

When will Sprint officially release the update for both phones?
Thanks in advance.
First Android Lollipop needs to be released. Then Samsung needs to work on firmware for its line up. Note 4 first then s5, note 3, then s4. THEN... they need to send it to sprint so sprint can add it's enhancements (bloat)... AND THEN sprint starts the roll out which hits most devices two weeks after they announce it. Sprint is working on the 4.4.4 update now so we are looking at months.. maybe Feb or March.
I'm hoping since Google did the whole new preview thing that Samsung actually worked on it and push rapid updates to all their main devices to 1up other manufacturers but of course that won't happen.

I wish Sammy would just make there phones with Vanilla Android and the Spen and features work on those Kernels. Imagine CM with a working Spen suit?
How soon can we expect to see custom Marshmallow ROMs for our devices based on the ASOP Nexus Marshmallow ROMs?
So another 6ish months before we can hope to have an update. Skipping the one we know works. Hopefully Marshmallow isn't nearly as bad as when lollipop 5.0 landed. T-mobile is just about worthless for updates.

It never was in testing.
BaHumBug! We, Tmobile customers, should have already learned the lesson by now that this only means a 6-7 month wait for 6.0 (possible bugs too) and most will move on to different phones/carriers by then. I love my Note 4, I think it is still a great overall phone but Tmobile sucks with updates.
Also can't wait for those that will come to this thread lets say about 2-3 months from now that will ask "so did 6.0 come out yet?" or "Any news on 6.0?".
If this article is to be believed, there seems to be a certain Note 4 missing from development by Samsung....
I'll give you a hint... It starts with a T and ends with a Mobile.
