[Q] HTC DESIRE 310 installing apps to sd card - HTC Desire 310 Questions & Answers

Sorry for making a topic so similar to other posts but I couldn't manage to find a serious answer about this problem.
First off,I rooted it with root genius. Then I divided my 16 gb sd card into 2 partitions of about 7,5 gb each. The problem is that android 4.2.2 doesn't support any method of moving apps to sd with the given by android option where many other android phones have.I wrote to htc support asking about this but they blamed google and a solution wasn't found.I am looking for a way to install an *.apk file from my sd card directly to my sd card because my internal storage is under 1,5 gb which for instance restricts me from installing hearthstone which is an around 1,7 gb game.Every suggestion helps.

Use foldermount

Multiple SD cards...question

Howdy,
I am trying to use the remaining free space on my sd card, but I see there is a 1 gb limit in some instances?
If i stick several movies that surpass the 1 gb limit onto my card, android completely reinstalls onto the sd card and wipes the files.
However, if I take out the sd card that has the rom on it, and put in another sd card with music/movies, android stops working.
am i doing this wrong or is there a workaround? thanks for reading
Android is actually reading and writing to the SD card that you are using at the time you load it so taking out that card you actually remove Android. As for the 1 gig limit I am not sure what you mean. If you put the file on the root of your card ( granted you have the space left after android builds itself the first time) android shouldnt modify or alter your files

[Q] Sorry!! but another lack of storage problem

Hi guys.. yet another storage full question..
Sorry if its been answered but I have tried the search function and tried some of the answers .. non of which has worked in my case.
I´m using Rafdroid HD 4.0.2 - dat2ext.. i used the install instructions given by the developer.
I used the Panasonic formatter for my SD card.. first partition primary FAT32.. ext part is ext3 primary. The maximum 1 GB ext was used.... I´m using a 32 GB SD card.
Magdlr 1,13 and the 400mb recovery were installed .. no problem. Rafdroid as zip copied to SD card.. the steps are clear and as i´ve repeated this twice and twice i´ve the same problem. (twice because someone in another thread suggested the answer to storage problem was to do it again.)
All the tested apps etc on the phone work as far as i can test them as i always get a message "storage low"
The message is "storage almost full" Please make 512 kb free space.
I would use app 2 sd or a similar app but i cant install the app as i´ve no free space.
Droid explorer is installed on my computer and i can look at whats installed but i´m unsure of what will happen if i start do delete programmes using this method.
details.. Rafdroid 4.02
Totalspace on sd card.. 29,19GB
total available.. 28,95 GB
internal phone storage
Available space 0,00B !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I cannot move apps to the sd card using the phone as the button with the move to sd remains grey in the manage applications prog.
Can anyone suggest what i should do? how do i get rid of some apps.. free up space so that i can install app 2 hd.
This has happened a few times (very seldom) if you read thro the forum.. any ideas as to why??

Seems like you're doing it right off the top of my head, but I've heard problems with larger SDcards, might wanna give it a try with a smaller one just to test and eliminate that off a checklist of things it might be.
Thanks for the tip.. i´ll buy a smaller sd card and try it out.
I had tried at the weekend to install rafdroid 3.2 i just to check to see if the build had anything to do with it.. but the problem remained... i´d also tried diff. programmes to format and repartition the card but also to no avail.. so as i´ve tried most things the only fault would seem to be with the size of the card..
I´m also going to install some other android build.. again just to check if this problem exits there as well
Yeah the SD card could be the cause of it. When the HD2 originally came out it only supported up to 16GB, so that could be your problem.
So.. i´ve now tried both rafdroid builds with an 8 and 16 gb sd micro card and both work fine.. no lack of storage issues.
I´ve also tried coredroid with all three cards.. with the 32 gb card the same problem... storage issues but with the 8 and 16 gb cards.. no problems at all
so i think after all my tests i can say that rafdroid, coredroid dont work with a 32gb sd card but will work ok with an 8 or 16 gb card.
i hope this helps anyone with similar problems..
altho i can say that wm 6.5 worked without any problems with the 32 gb card.

installing apps to sd

I found out the hard way that all those 1 gb games won't install to your SD card, but I'm wondering if this will change either through a custom rom or ics? Very dissapointed
is it even possible to install apps to sd ?
cant find that option either
I found some other xda threads of some other android devices can run an app that will swap the ext sd and internal sd mounts so you can use your bigass SD card for your default storage. Not sure if it will run properly on our 7.7 , though.
its a shame that such a high end tablet does not have a simple apps to sd feature. it was in my GB on xperia x8. why is this feature missing from HC 3.2 ?
after downloading about 6-7 games of 1 gb each . the space is running out fast . Any solutions ?

Honor 7 - move to SD - upgrade to 6 solve the probelm

Hi, hello all
I'm new there, so ff there was a similar topic, forgive me.
I bought a few days ago Honor 7 with 16GB intermal memory. I have also 32GB microSD card.
I read before buying that I can move all the applications on the SD card, but some I can't move - for example "Allegro" - its same as eBuy, but polish, and Facebook.
I'm also set SD card qua default memory, but I can't move all apps, and new install on internal memory.
It is beyond the root a way to move all the applications on the SD?
I read that update to android M allows you to extend the internal memory of the SD card, but is it true?
How to solve this problem?
Greetings,
Adam
*Some* apps cannot be moved to SD card, even if the phone has the feature. Its just like that - they can be installed in the internal memory only. This is true for any brand / model of android phones.
For the apps that are not movable to sd - you would see the "move to sd card" button grayed out in the system>app settings.
Upgrading Honor 7 to MM is not going to solve the problem. (As a matter of fact, i installed a beta update of MM (b304 firmware) that has been provided as a link in another thread in XDA - and NOW I AM NOT ABLE TO MOVE ANY APP TO SD CARD. Even worse, all my older apps installed in the sd card have 'disappeared'.
So ... cheer up, you are in a much better position than me ...lol.
Hope that helps.
Meanwhile, enjoy the marvelous phone - Honor 7
There is an app 'Link2SD', which I use on Honor7 with Lollipop and is quite flexible in what can be moved, or linked to the SD card. Not saying its the answer, but may do what you are wanting achieve. The developer has a section on XDA forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=919326
